"It's just that every time I get close to someone I do something to make them leave." Buffy said as she and Faith walked down the street to Faith's old apartment. The sky had cleared up and the sun was setting.

"It's not like that, B." Faith replied as she slid her hands to her pockets.

"It's exactly like that. Y'know, I always thought the first slayer was full of it. 'We are only the kill' and all that stuff never made sense to me. Then, everyone who I cared about left me. Angel, Riley, you." Buffy said as she stopped to watch the sunset. Faith stood close to the other slayer.

"I deserved it though, B. Look how I treated you." Faith said as Buffy leaned back against her. She slid her arms around the blonde's waist.

"No. I should have tried harder to understand you. Even when I saw in LA, all I did was threaten to beat you to death. I guess it just bothered me that when you decided to turn to Angel for help instead of me." Buffy sighed and Faith tightened her grip on Buffy.

"I just didn't want to back and see you without getting myself together. I did a lot of evil things and Angel understood what I wanted to do because he was going through the same thing." Faith closed her eyes and continued, "I spent every night in that cell thinking about you. I didn't realize how deep my feelings for you went." Buffy turn around so she and the brunette were face to face. She gently slid her arms around Faith and held her.

"And then I was you earlier today and said what was in my heart it scared me. How could I tell you that after all I had put you through?" Faith whispered as the tears fell from her still closed eyes. "So I ran. After telling myself that I was different than before, I just ran from you. I figured it would be a lot easier than having you say that you didn't love me."

Buffy stared at her counterpart. This girl had tried to kill her and her friends several times. She should be kicking her ass. But she wasn't going to. Time healed all the damage they had inflicted on each other and they had come full circle. Friends to enemies to friends again. Besides destiny said they were to be together and why should she deny it anymore. Buffy closed her eyes and gently pressed her lips against Faith's.

"I love you, Faith." Buffy whispered.

One week ago…
New Orleans, LA…

Kendra walked into her hotel room and shut the door behind her. She had spent most of the day shopping for new clothes and things of the sort. She looked at her watch. It was 6:30am. The sun was slowly rising so she pulled the curtains open to see it. Kendra pulled off her coat and flung it on her bed. She opened up the closet door to reveal Drusilla tied to the door naked.

She smiled at handiwork. After Kendra had beaten Drusilla nearly to death, she decided to keep her around for entertainment. The first few days she spent burning Dru with crosses all over her body. After that got dull, Kendra spent another two days cutting her and slitting her throat just enough so that she couldn't speak.

Drusilla was barely alive after that so, Kendra gave her a few days to heal.

She walked over to the vampire and whispered to her. "Don't you wish you never killed me?"

Dru groggily raised her head and spoke. "No, I…quite enjoyed…killing..you…"

Kendra's eyes sparked again with red energy. She reached into the bag and pulled out a small voodoo doll. "Ever seen one these before? It's a voodoo doll. Usually these are used to cause minor pains." Kendra held the doll in her hand and squeezed around the waist. Drusilla screamed as she felt her ribs breaking. "So whatever I do to the doll happens to you."

"One day…the…slayer is going to…kill you…" Dru said as coughed up some blood and pieces of her ribs.

"The slayer? Why do you people think that? Buffy can't stop me." The evil slayer reached into her pocket and pulled the lighter she had found in Sam's pocket back in Jamaica.

Drusilla swayed her head back and forth. "Not..just Buffy…. she has a friend…your replacement…"

Kendra smiled to herself. "Good for her and my 'replacement'. But they will die. Just like you." She calmly lit the doll on fire and tossed on the floor. The evil slayer laughed as Drusilla burst into flame.

"Buffy doesn't stand a chance." Kendra said to herself as she walked down the hallway.

They had arrived at Faith's apartment. No one had been in there since Faith was in the hospital. Faith walked inside slowly. This was it. Everything started from here. She looked over at the window and moved towards it. Faith gently rubbed her stomach a slight scar still remained.

(She stood on the edge of the roof and held her hand on her wound. Buffy did it. Never thought she would do it but she did. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a truck coming.

"Shoulda been there, B…Hell of ride…" she said. And then she jumped.)

"You ok?" Buffy asked as she walked up behind the taller slayer.

"Yeah. Just thinking about old times." Faith said as she turned away from the window.

Buffy looked out of the window. She remembered slamming the knife into Faith's side. How could she let it get that far? Buffy watched as Faith continued walking around the apartment.

"I'm sorry." Buffy said softly.

Faith nodded. "No use living in the past, besides the orb ain't here."

"Are you sure? This the site of our greatest battle." Buffy said. Faith still hadn't turned around yet.

"No. This isn't it. I didn't choose here." Faith continued "It's in LA. Outside of the warehouse where I had my breakdown." Buffy walked in front of Faith. Her eyes had turned red. She closed her eyes and when she opened them they had turned brown once again.

"How did I do that?" Faith asked as she took a seat on a nearby crate. "I mean I tried to use the power earlier when I felt you using them and nothing happened."

"Maybe my connection is stronger because I have used the power before." Buffy kneeled beside Faith. "I am sure the more you try to use it easier it'll be."

"I guess you're right."

Faith stood up and took Buffy's hand. She took one more look around at her old home.

*No use living in the past* she thought.

Los Angeles, CA…

A black sedan rolled to a stop in front of a rundown hotel. The occupants of the car pulled themselves out of the car and staggered towards the entrance. Once inside the hotel, they all plopped down into seat around the lobby.

"Next time we fight one of those…" the black man asked. He was wearing baggy blue jeans and bright orange shirt that was stained with dried green blood.

"I believe it was a sewer dweller for lack of a better term." Said the other man who was cleaning off his glasses. His clothes too were stained with green blood.

"Whatever. Remind me not to wear my new gear. I don't think this green shit is gonna wash out."

"That's hardly the point, Gunn. You knew we were going into the sewers."

Gunn stood up from his seat. "Excuse me if I wanted to look good. I thought we were going out tonight."

The man stood and put his glasses on. "I suppose so. After I change clothes first."

"Naw if I gotta go out covered in green shit so do you Wes." Gunn said as he walked off in the direction of the bathroom.

"He's right you know."

"Angel, you can't be serious. What if I meet an engaging young lady..."

Angel smirked at Wesley and walked into his office.

"Well, it could happen." Wesley mumbled as sat back down in his chair. Then heard the door open and saw an attractive young lady walk in. She wore a leather coat, a white tanktop and a pair of tight black jeans. Her hair was jet black with red streaks and pulled into a ponytail.

"Can I help you?" He asked politely as she came down the stairs into the lobby. The girl looked around at the room completely ignoring Wesley. He got a nagging feeling that he knew the girl from somewhere.

Gunn finally came back into the room and smiled. He walked over the young lady and stuck out his hand. "Hi, I'm Gunn. And I must say you are a special kind of fine."

The girl smiled at him. "Hello, Gunn. My name is…"

"Kendra." Wesley said. "But aren't you…"

"Dead?" Kendra said as her eyes flashed with red energy again. "I got better."
