Faith sat silently in the passenger's seat of the jeep. It had been an amazing couple of hours for her and she was still trying to understand all of it. She had gotten out of prison, realized that was in love with her greatest rival, gone to the Ghostroads, had her rival admit that she loved her back, and gone to place where she made a painful decision. Oh, there was that little thing about an evil super powered slayer on loose.

Faith looked out the window and whispered. "Funny how life works out."

"I heard that." Buffy said as looked over at Faith from driver's side.

"I didn't mean it in a bad way…"

"I know you didn't. It just feels right. You and me." She brushed Faith's hair behind her ear. "There. Now I can see those eyes of yours."

Faith blushed. After all the bad things that had happened in her life, she finally had something good. And it did feel right to be with Buffy. Every minute that she spent with her proved it.

"How much longer 'til we get to LA?" Faith asked trying to change the subject.

Buffy smiled. It was cute the way Faith acted around her. It kinda reminded her of the way Xander would act around. Not sure if she was saying the right thing. "About another half an hour."

Buffy looked over at the younger slayer. She was staring down at her shoes. "What's wrong?"

"There was something I wanted to tell you. About why I did what I did. But there is only problem though."

"And what is the problem?"

Faith reached into her pocket and pulled out a tape and put it in the tape deck. "I kinda have to sing it."

Buffy was going to protest the idea of Faith singing anything until she heard Faith humming along to song that she had before.

The brunette closed her eyes took a deep breath and started singing.

// I wanted to be like you
	I wanted everything
So I tried to be like you
	And I got swept away…//

Buffy felt the tears welling up in her eyes. Faith had an amazing voice. It was filled with deep regret and filled with love. Buffy had heard the song before but it never clicked how much the words meant. All of the fighting and cold words were because Faith wanted to be like her. She pulled the jeep off to the side of the road. She held Faith's hand and spoke along with the song.

// I didn't know that was so cold
	And you needed someone
	To show you the way…//

Faith smiled as the tears began falling from her eyes and picked up where Buffy left off.

// So I took your hand and we figured out
	That when the tide comes
	I'd take you away…//

Buffy pulled Faith in closer and put arms around her and whispered into Faith's ear.

	// If you want to
	I can save you
I can take away from here
So lonely inside, So busy out there
And all you wanted was somebody who cares…//

Faith looked into Buffy's eyes. It was just too much. She started sobbing loudly into Buffy's chest.

Buffy had never seen Faith like this. She didn't really know what to say to make her feel any better. After a couple of minutes Faith spoke.

"I am so sorry for what I did. All I ever wanted was you. And when I couldn't have you, it hurt so much that drove me insane. I never wanted us to be enemies and now I have you and it makes me feel so good about myself. And I am so scared that I might screw this up and lose you all over again."

Faith continued crying. Buffy gently kissed her counterpart on the forehead. "Faith, I know you are and I'm sorry too. I am sorry I treated the way I did for such a long time. I'm sorry for every bad thing that has ever happened to you. And if I could I would take it all away from you in a heartbeat. But I can't. All I can do is be by your side. No matter what happens to us, know that I love you. I love you more than I have ever loved anyone and I will never leave you or let anything bad happen to you."

Buffy put her hand under Faith's chin and lifted her face so they were face to face. She looked into Faith's eyes and smiled. Buffy leaned in and kissed Faith deeply for the first time. They had kissed before this time was different. This closed the door on their past and opened the door to their future.

When they finally broke, Faith smiled at the blonde. "I love you, too."

Buffy kissed Faith once again and then started the car. "Let's get this orb, beat up this evil slayer and go home."

"Sounds like a plan." Faith answered as Buffy pulled back on the highway.

Angel pulled himself from the floor of his office. He braced himself against the wall and staggered out into the lobby. Angel grimaced as he tried to put some weight on his right leg. It had been broken during the fight with Kendra and it still was ways off from being back to normal. He pulled a battle-axe from the wall and used it as a crutch. He couldn't tell how long he had been unconscious but it had to been at least a day.

As he came into the lobby, Angel began scanning the lobby for his friends.

"Wesley! Gunn! Are you guys all right?" he yelled.

"I'm over here and I think I am stuck." Angel limped over towards the sound of the British voice. Behind the front desk he saw Wesley driven into the wall. Angel let out a tiny laugh as he pulled the former watcher from the wall.

"Yes, yes. Quite funny isn't? Where's Gunn?"

"Over here." Gunn answered.

Wesley and Angel hobbled over to the stairs where Gunn was lying.

"You ok?" Angel asked as Gunn slowly sat up.

"Outside of the broken nose, ribs and balls, I am fine." He answered as he wiped the blood from under his nose.

Wesley silently stared at him.

"What she kneed me in the balls. Twice." Wesley slid under Gunn's arm and helped him to the couch.

"How long have we been unconscious?" Wesley asked as he began searching the floor for his glasses.

"As far as I can tell, about a day." Angel answered as he slowly sat down on the chair across from Gunn.

"We got our asses kicked." Gunn replied.

"Actually I do believe, Kendra performed some sort of spell on us causing us to spend the day sleeping." Wesley stated as he picked his glasses up from the floor.

"But the part where she kicked our asses helped right?"

Angel stood up and tried putting some weight on his leg again. "What was she looking for?"

"I'm not too sure. I do recall her touching the sides of my head. It felt as if she was going through my memories." Wesley sat down next to Gunn and rubbed his forehead.

"Well all I remember is her laughing about some warehouse, an orb and somethin' about faith." Gunn looked at Angel who had gotten up and grabbed his coat. He pulled himself out of his seat. "Now where are we going?"

"Angel, you don't think was talking about Faith do you?" Wesley asked.

Angel nodded grimly. The men limped to the entrance. It had been awhile since Angel had even thought about her. He had visited after Buffy's funeral but, hadn't seen her since then. But now, with Kendra back and stronger than he'd ever seen Faith was in danger and he had to help her. No matter what.

*She must be heading to the warehouse where Faith took Wesley when she kidnapped him. I just hope I can get there in time.*

They came out of the hotel to see an empty parking space where Angel's car should been parked. Gunn looked around puzzled.

"Where's your car?"

"This is it." Faith said as Buffy parked the jeep at the side of warehouse. Faith stared at the spot she had decided to change. It was very surreal moment for her. She got out of the jeep and walked over to the fence.

"Are you ok with being here?" Buffy asked as walked up behind Faith.

Faith held her eyes close and gently placed her hand on the fence.

(She ran at Angel as fast she could. It was all coming apart. She couldn't take it anymore. All she wanted was a release. Maybe then the pain would stop. Maybe then she would have peace.

"I know what you want but, I'm not going to do it!" Angel shouted at her as she continued to swing at him. Even the deadboy thought that she wasn't worth it.

"I'M EVIL!" she shouted but she felt her rage leave her. No more. No more of this life and it's bullshit. It's over now. She falls into the vampire's arms as the rain begins to fall from the sky.

"Angel, please…just kill me…")

Faith opened her eyes and turned to face the older slayer. "Just remembering some stuff."

Buffy surveyed the area. "I'll go in first see if I see it."

Faith groaned. "How come I get to be the lookout?"

"That's the way things work out."

Faith watched as Buffy disappeared around the corner into the shadows. She kneeled in front the fence. When came down to it, Faith was glad about the whole thing. Seeing all the places where she had made some big life decisions and she was stronger for it. New Faith, old Faith. It didn't matter. She knew who she was and she knew all those decision, no matter how bad or horrible they were, made her into who she is.

"Five by five." Faith stood up and smiled. Everything was going to be okay and for once in her life, she honestly believed it. Suddenly, she heard a female voice laughing overhead. The young slayer looked up and saw a black girl hurtling down towards the roof of Buffy's jeep.

The girl crashed through the jeep feet first causing it to explode into a million pieces. Faith slammed through the fence as a lone figure strode from the fiery wreckage.

The brunette flipped back on her feet and smiled wickedly. "Don't know you?"

The girl smiled as red lightening crackled around her. Her eyes burning with red energy. And in her right hand glowing red sphere. "Yes. I'm Kendra."

Faith laughed. "Newsflash, bitch. Kendra's dead."

Kendra continued smiling at the brunette. She calmly pointed the sphere at her. "No bitch. Faith's dead."

Buffy silently crept through the shadows of the warehouse hoping to find a way inside. The only option was a window that was a good twenty feet above her. Buffy took a few steps back and suddenly felt a surge of power course through her. She kneeled and jumped up towards the window as hard as she could.

Buffy watched as the window whizzed past her. She was still going up. Soon, Buffy was high was a good 25 feet of above the building.

She looked around and saw Angel's car parked about 20 feet away from the warehouse.

"Wonder why Angel's here?" the blonde asked as she slowly began falling back towards the roof. Buffy crossed her arms over her face and slammed through the roof, and floor after that, and the floor after that, and the floor after until she hit the ground floor with a sickening thud.

"Ow." Buffy got to her feet and realized what had just happened. A slayer was normally tougher and stronger than your average human, meaning that she could take a fair amount of abuse before she got a scratch on her. She looked up at several holes that her fall had made.

*Maybe I am getting stronger.* Buffy dusted off her clothes and began looking around the warehouse when she heard a explosion from outside.

"Faith." Buffy ran in the direction of the explosion. She got to the door of the warehouse saw another sound. She heard Faith talking to someone. Then there was another blast.

Faith came crashing through the door with red energy crackling all over her. Buffy ran to catch her.

"Oh my god. Faith, are you ok?" She didn't say anything. The older slayer frantically checked for a pulse or any sign of life from the girl.

Faith coughed weakly. "B…"

Buffy's eyes filled with tears as she grabbed Faith's hand and held tightly. "Don't scare me like that."

The younger slayer smiled at her. "Don't worry about me. You gotta stop her."

"Who?" Suddenly, Buffy heard a voice from the hole that Faith had made.

"I think she's talking about me." Buffy slowly stood up and saw Kendra stride into the warehouse.

"Hey Blondie. Did ya' miss me?"
