The sound of sirens distracted both slayers, causing a pause in their battle. Seizing the opportunity, Faith rushed toward the mantle to retrieve the mayor's gift while Buffy advanced on her, sneering, "Looks like your ride's here, F."
Spinning around, the dark slayer delivered a punishing roundhouse kick to the blonde's midsection. "Don't think so." Faith watched with satisfaction as Buffy doubled over; then quickly, she slipped the gadget onto her hand and approached.
Grunting in pain, Buffy straightened up. "Faith, you blew it! This time I am giving you to the police."
"Not much of a threat, B," Faith chuckled, "You can hardly stand." As she expected, the older slayer attacked.
Lunging, Buffy struck hard, hitting the sexy brunette across the face.
Faith's head snapped back, but she was ready for the next blow. As soon as Buffy took a swing, she caught her hand. A surge passed through them both, surprising each with its intensity.
*What the--?!* Green eyes locked with dark brown ones as the sensation jolted them apart.
Still stunned, Buffy stood unmoving while Faith screamed in frustration and tossed the gadget to the ground. "FUCKIN' PIECE OF SHIT DOESN'T WORK!"
Stomping on it in a rage, the rogue slayer was brought back to the situation by Buffy's softly asked question. "What was that?"
In an instant, Faith's fist came around and met the petite woman's jaw. As Buffy crumpled to the floor, the brunette snorted, "Doesn't matter now, does it?!"
With her last actual plan foiled, Faith wondered what she should do. Poking the unconscious hero with her boot, she shrugged. "Guess, I'll just kill ya, B."
Her eyes scanned the room for a weapon. Walking over to the smashed silverware drawer, she picked up a knife and returned to Buffy's side. Faith gazed down at the golden-haired beauty and hesitated.
A clatter on the stairs drew her attention. She turned in time to see Mrs. Summers hurrying down.
"Buffy! Honey, the police are-- Oh dear!" Joyce gasped, horrified to see her daughter knocked out, and Faith wielding a knife.
The brunette smirked. "Hey there, Joycey. B's taking a nap, but I'll be sure to give her the message."
Panicked, the terrified mother hedged toward the door.
"Don't do it!"
Joyce halted. The commotion outside indicated to cops were coming up the porch.
"Well, that's my cue. Sorry, Joyce. Gotta run, but it's been fun." Grinning, Faith lifted Buffy, slinging her pretty, little rival over her shoulder. "B's coming with me. We still got all kinds of catchin' up to do." Winking, the leather-clad, bad girl ran her hand over Buffy ass and wickedly added, "Wouldn't wait up if I were you... slayer stamina, yunno."
She chuckled at Mrs. Summers' ashen appearance before rushing out the back.
"You're not going to get away with this!"
Faith's sensitive hearing picked up the mother's angry shout. "Yeah, just watch me." The brunette muttered, crossing the yard and easily slipping past the police.
Faith kicked the mansion door shut and hastily carried Buffy to Angel's bedroom. She snorted as she glanced around and noticed the place had been kept up. "Looks like soul boy is still a sap. Keepin' the old place just in case."
Laying the unconscious slayer gently on the bed, Faith headed into the other room to fetch the shackles. When she returned she found Buffy sitting up and waiting.
"Bitch!" The blonde rushed her, barreling into her at full force. Both slayers fell to the floor, rolling around as they struggled to overpower one other.
Finally, Buffy gained the upper hand and straddled the brunette. Trying to catch her breath, she held still a moment and glared down before snarling, "Faith, I want to know what that thing was for. And you're going to tell me!"
The dark slayer stared up at her, taking in Buffy's tussled appearance and smirking. *It's so much fun to piss B off. God, I missed this.*
The messy golden locks and angry glint in Buffy's gorgeous green eyes made her look wild and sexy. *Dang, she's still such a babe!*
Before Faith could make the lewd remark that came to mind, Buffy bent closer, demanding, "Faith, answer me! What were you trying to do?!"
"What I'm always trying to do, B. Get inside that hot little bod of yours of course."
Buffy froze, suddenly the sensation of being pressed tightly against Faith became electrifying. "Oh my gawdddd!" She sucked in her breath and closed her eyes as a wave of pleasure washed over her.
Both slayers felt it.
Groaning, Faith arched up. She was trying to gain leverage and rub herself against Buffy.
"Faith, wha..what--?" Buffy gasped, unable to complete the question.
"Dunno. Don't care." With all her strength, Faith bucked up and knocked Buffy off her. The little blonde panicked and lifted her hands to ward off the blow she was certain would be coming.
Impatiently, the younger slayer pushed Buffy's hands aside and tore at her counterpart's clothes. "Got to.." Faith grunted as she shredded the shirt, "..have you."
Buffy lay back, closing her eyes once more. The onslaught of her arousal was nearly paralyzing. The slayer couldn't even ponder what was happening, only hope for relief.
One last whimper of concern escaped Buffy lips as Faith continued undressing them both. "Faith...why?"
"I-Don't-Know! Toldya! Now help me take this shit off!"
With blind obedience Buffy reached up and assisted Faith in removing the last of their clothing.
"That's it, B!" Faith grinned her approval before diving between the blonde's legs. Pressing her lips to the older girl's pussy, she purred while she kissed and licked the smaller slayer's soft, soaked sex.
"OHHHHH..UHHHHH...OH GODDDDDDD!" Buffy's eyes rolled back as she rode Faith's mouth in ecstasy. "FAAAAITHH...PLEAAAASE...OH YES..YES."
The brunette clutched her, desperate to get Buffy off and seek some satisfaction for herself.
"I'M GOING TO...AHHHHHH!!!" Buffy screamed, shaking violently as an orgasm greater than all her previous orgasms combined, tore through her tiny frame. She whimpered and fell back, squeezing her eyes shut as the tears rolled unchecked down her cheeks.
With the last vestiges of her strength, Buffy was able to clasp Faith's head tightly, forcing the younger slayer's lips to remain firmly planted over her opening. A strange urge to make Faithy swallow her juices motivated her.
The brunette baddie didn't fight it as the sweet, creamy slayer cum filled her mouth and flowed down her throat. Warm and sticky, it gushed in torrents, literally coating her face and dripping her chin.
*Holy shit!* Faith tried to pull back but Buffy held her firmly in place. Gobs even smeared through Faith's wavy dark tresses, tangling her hair. Faith lapped a little longer before pulling back for air. This time Buffy released her.
When she sat up and peered down, Buffy smiled up at her, a glazed expression on her pretty face. Softly, the blonde mumbled, "You're covered in it."
Faith didn't bother being annoyed. She had bigger problems. The need to get off had become nearly agonizing. "B." She spoke, breathlessly, "B, ya gotta... you gotta help me."
The urgency in Faith's voice spurred the blonde slayer to action. She growled excitedly and flipped the bad-girl onto her back.
Reaching between her own legs, Buffy rubbed her well-sucked pussy until her hand was lubed with her oddly glowing, gooey cum. Then without missing a beat she shoved two fingers into Faith and began fucking her to the tough girl's unabashed delight.
"Oh yes, B! Fuckkk me! Yeah, baby... pleeeeease.. ungh! B... Don't stop! Ahhhhh! Harder!" Faith cried out clinging to Buffy.
The pretty blonde leaned and tenderly kissed her while continuing to pump her fingers in and out as a furious place. Claiming Faith like this was so thrilling. Buffy smiled as the brunette beauty tearfully clung to her.
"OH B... THAT'S IT! OH FUUUUCK!... BUFFFFFY!"
The tremors of Faith's equally intense orgasm struck, causing her to bury her face against Buffy's neck to hide her astonishment. *This isn't..isn't normal.* Faith's body went rigid before relaxing completely. The walls of her vagina were left quivering around the older slayer's fingers.
"B?"
"Shh." Delicately, Buffy caressed her. "It's okay, Faith."
Never had Buffy felt so close to anyone. At that moment they both realized they had shared something special. Spell induced yes, but special still.
They lay quietly gazing into each other's eyes when the door shattered and a team of Initiative commandos poured in with the scoobies close behind.
"What the--?!" Riley shouted, outraged at his girlfriend's current position.
Buffy was completely nude with her fingers buried deep inside Faith's pulsating pussy.
"Oh god!" Buffy pulled back, horrified with way she had just been discovered. "Riley, I can.. I can explain."
"Duck!" He barked out, not giving her time to speak. Lifting his gun, Riley took aim at Faith.
Xander seeing his intent, lunged at the soldier knocking him off balance and causing him to miss the mark.
Faith fumbled with her clothes much like Buffy was, while the commandos stood looking with uncertainty from one slayer to another.
"The brunette! Get the brunette!" Riley ordered while Xander continued to scuffle with him on the floor.
Buffy stepped up to block their path. Delivering a round-house kick to the first soldier, she sent him reeling into the bunch. Another approached, aiming his taser at her but Willow quickly chanted a few words throwing him back.
"Stop! Stop it this instant!" Giles shouted over the melee. "She's gone!"
Buffy spun around to find that Giles was indeed right. Faith had disappeared.
PART 3 - The Rabbit Died
Three Months Later
"Aw shit, hang on."
Anne watched with surprise as the slayer bolted from the room.
Barely missing the stray teens on the stairs, Faith rushed headlong into the bathroom. She hardly had time to lift the toilet lid and fall to her knees before she vomited. "Oh god." She mumbled miserably before retching again.
"Faith?... Faith?"
"Um..Yeah, just a sec."
Lifting herself up, the beautiful brunette checked her ashen features in the mirror. "What the fuck's wrong with me?" Splashing water on her face, she plastered on a smile and reached over to flick the lock.
Anne opened the door and peered in. "Faith, that's the fifth day in a row. I'm calling Angel."
"No," the Bostonian grabbed her arm, "Don't!"
When Anne turned to stare at her, Faith shrugged. "It's no biggie, really. Jus' the flu or something."
Giving her a doubtful appraisal, the crisis counselor eventually nodded, "Fine. But if this keeps up--"
"Maybe she's pregnant," one of Anne's teens interjected as she and some of the kids piled in to investigate.
"Yeah," another piped up, "That's what happened to my sister when she and--"
"I'm not pregnant," Faith retorted, scowling at the well-meaning teens. "Hey, don't you runts have things to do?!" They all scurried off before Anne could suggest that the girls did have a point.
Sensing the young woman's concern, Faith immediately waved her hand dismissively. When Anne didn't budge, the dark slayer slowly enunciated, "I'm- NOT - knocked - up! Got it?! Jeez!" The brunette stormed angrily from the room.
"Wait!" Anne trailed after the riled slayer. Grabbing her arm, she began, "It's just--"
"Frickin' impossible! That's what it is! Startin' to get it yet, blondie?!"
Anne held up her hands in resignation. "Relax, Faith. I was only going to suggest we look into--," she hesitated and looked around, checking that the coast was clear before continuing, "mystical causes. After all you are a slayer. So c'mon, pleeease let me call Angel."
"Urgggh! Anne!"
"Does your locating spell show you where she's at or not?"
The young witch looked up at her apologetically. "Sorry. I'm sure we did it right, Buffy. It's only... well..um."
"Out with it, Wil."
"The spell is being blocked," Tara suddenly filled in. She didn't want to witness another hour-long rant from the slayer with the subject being 'Buffy's theories on scooby slacking'.
They were making an effort, an enormous effort. Faith was just proving to be a bigger challenge to locate then previously expected.
"What does that mean?!" The little blonde's brows knitted together in consternation.
"It means that someone is hiding her."
"S-s-s-someone who knows some magic," the shy wiccan stuttered, smiling at her girlfriend. Willow returned the loving look.
"Focus please!" Buffy chided before stomping off toward Xander and Giles. "Well?!"
Both glanced in her direction.
Buffy huffed impatiently, "What have you found out?"
"Nothing in the last five minutes," Xander replied, frowning. He was beginning to wonder if he should be concerned for Buffy's sanity. Ever since they had begun these "search for Faith" Saturdays, Buffy had grown more and more desperate.
"Well keep looking! She couldn't have just vanished!"
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Buffster," Xander quipped, "but Faith disappearing.. Isn't that a good thing?"
"No!" Buffy answered quite adamantly. "We have a psychotic killer on the loose. She could be on a rampage right now."
Willow hesitantly lifted her hand, "I don't mean to be argumentative. But if Miss Slutbomb were on a murder spree I think then we'd be able to locate her."
Giles watched his slayer's agitation grow steadily and interceded. "No, I have to agree. Buffy is quite right. Either case someone is definitely helping Faith and hiding her with magic I should think." He eyed the little blonde's relief at his assertion.
Buffy certainly was acting strange over this whole Faith matter and finding the rogue slayer would probably be the only way to get to the bottom of it.
"Faith, are you done?" Anne called out.
She had a difficult enough time convincing Faith to take the test. Now the slayer seemed to have locked herself in the bathroom with it.
A simple pregnancy test was a logical step in the counselor's mind, despite Faith's claims at celibacy. Besides, Faithy being completely sex free the whole time she was in L.A., well it just didn't figure. Her pretty friend exuded sex appeal. It was more likely that in a wild partying haze Faith had forgotten. Anne conveniently blocked out the fact that Faith hadn't partied once since her arrival at the center.
"Faith, please...." Anne knocked again.
"Faaaith." A chorus of giggles followed as several of the more smitten teenagers called to the slayer. "Come out. We want to see."
The tough, sexy brunette came out holding a stick. Wordlessly, she passed it to Anne.
"Oh my god! Faith, you're--"
"Pregnant." Faith finished, frowning.
Several of the kids clapped until the slayer turned her angry gaze on them.
Worriedly the young counselor waved them away. "Go on. You have chores to do! Leave Faith alone for now."
Once the excited crowd dispersed, Anne returned to her friend's side. "Faith, it may be a false positive. You should take the test again and then we'll call Angel."
Staring off with an unreadable expression on her face, the former bad girl muttered, "Call him now."
"Do you want to tell her, or shall I?" Wesley asked as Angel looked over the former watcher's research notes.
The vampire paled slightly as he read the last part. "Is this..?" Faltering, he glanced up to meet Wesley's eyes. "Are you positive?"
"Fairly certain... From what I've been able to ascertain from Giles and the others without arousing suspicion that is."
"No, I mean..." Angel hesitated. "The baby is--"
"Not a scheme of the mayor's as Faith suspected nor of the demon variety at all." Wesley tapped the documents. "It's just as it says there. In that regard, the tests are conclusive."
"And is Buffy also...uh.."
"Pregnant?" At Angel's nod, Wesley shook his head. "No. As near as I can tell only Faith conceived. I suspect the reasons to be purely circumstantial, but unless we can get her to tell us the details we really won't know why."
"What's going on in here?!" Faith burst through the door with Cordy and Fred close on her heels.
"Sorry, we couldn't keep her out any longer."
"That's alright." Angel waved off their apologies. "Wesley has some answers." He eyed the brunette bad girl sternly. "But we're going to need some from you too, Faith. No more half truths."
Buffy quietly slipped out of bed, watching her boyfriend's sleeping form as she hurriedly tugged on her clothes. She needed to get out, go slaying or do something that involved a serious workout. Ever since her night with Faith things between her and Riley had grown strained.
It seemed as if nothing would erase that memory from either of their brains. The memory of her fingers buried deep inside of Faith.
Buffy closed her eyes for a moment to picture the expression she loved to remember most. It was the look on Faith's face when brunette climaxed. How gorgeous the dark slayer looked during orgasm still awed her.
The rest of the recollection was delicious too. Sighing, the blonde recalled the feel of Faith's vaginal walls clutching desperately to her cum soaked fingers. And the sweet smell and soft moans.. *Mmmm.* Buffy halted in her retreat from the room. *Maybe I should lay down for a minute just to..*
Riley's voice shook the slayer from her musings, "Where are you going?"
Stumbling, Buffy quickly turned around, "Riley! I uh... have to go out."
"Now? Buffy, it's three in the morning."
"Sorry. Duty calls." The little blonde mumbled, edging out the door.
"What do you mean it's not a demon?!" Faith shouted, getting up into Wesley's face. "I told you I haven't been with anyone so it's gotta be some kinda wicked spell shit!"
Angel stepped in and gently nudged the angry slayer back. "Faith, please."
"No deadboy, he's callin' me a liar and I ain't gonna take that shit!"
Wesley cleared his throat and turned from his former charge. Making his way over to the desk, he took a seat behind it before carefully choosing his words. "Actually Faith, all I said was that the baby you're carrying is not a demon, but that doesn't mean I believe your condition has occurred the conventional way." Leaning forward, he added, "Quite the opposite. Now are you going to tell us the truth about how this happened or stick to that nonsense story?"
"It isn't nonsense!" Faith growled, glancing at Angel for support. The vampire shrugged, uncomfortable with the pressure. Wesley seemed to believe that the slayer was holding out on them and based on the test results he was inclined to agree.
"Faith, you didn't just touch hands with Buffy that night. More must have happened."
The beautiful brunette sat down heavily, mulling over her ex-watcher's words. "If it's not demon then...how did..?" Peering up, Faith nervously asked, "What is it? What'd that test thingamajig tell you?"
Both Wesley and Angel watched her closely as Wesley continued, "Slayer. The spells all conclude the baby's bloodline to be slayer.." he hesitated for emphasis, "and nothing else."
"So whaddya mean? It's mine?" Faith leaned back, stunned.
"Partially."
"Partially?" The dark slayer's eyes narrowed, "Who else's?"
"I think you know the answer to that, Faith. Don't you?" Wesley remarked dryly. He observed Faith's reaction with great interest. The color had drained from her face before he even said the name. "The baby is Buffy's...yours and Buffy's."
"Holy crap!" Cordelia blurted, glancing at Angel for confirmation. The vampire nodded his head as Gunn and Fred crowded in somewhat excited.
"A slayer baby! Well that's gotta be something good, right?" Fred moved toward the strangely silent leather clad beauty. A huge smile was plastered on the little Texan's face as she leaned down to hug Faith. "Congratulations! A baby is such a wonderful thing. We'll have so much fun buying those tiny clothes and --"
"Nahhh...I have to..I...uh." Faith mumbled somewhat panicked. She pushed Fred away. Suddenly the room seemed excessively small and too warm. The young slayer stood quickly. "I need to.. yunno..go.." The brunette tried to push past everyone. "Can't breath...lemme out."
"Faith, wait!" Angel stepped up in time to catch the tough girl as she fainted.
"Oh yeah, that went well." Cordelia snorted, gazing down at the unconscious slayer.
When Faith came to she found herself being tended to by an overly anxious vampire and his crew. Fred sat holding a cold compress to her head, while Wesley checked her blood pressure, Gunn elevated her feet, and Cordelia held out an iced tea. But even more disturbing was Angel at her side gently massaging her stomach.
"What the--?! Hey!" Faith tried to sit up, but Angel eased her back.
"Just relax."
"Get your friggin' hands off me then!" The dark slayer bellowed, tugging her arm from Wesley and swatting at Angel's hands.
"Faith, please calm down." The former watcher worriedly instructed.
"Sure that's easy for you to say," the brunette groused, "It's not like you passed out and then woke up being groped."
Embarrassed, everyone backed off slightly.
Narrowing her eyes, Faith's attention returned to Wesley. "So are you gonna tell me how this happened or what?"
Awkwardly, he removed his glasses, cleaning them as he spoke. "I'll tell you what I know, but I'm afraid you'll need to fill us in on the..uh..details."
A hot blush settled on the brunette's cheeks as she spared a glance in Angel's direction. "Yeah, whatever."
"Yeah, I know we're curious." Cordelia mumbled, giving Faith a false smile as she took a seat with the others.
Wesley got situated, but before he could begin Faith grunted. "Condensed version, Wes."
"Very well," he cleared his throat, "The device left to you by the mayor was intended for what he promised, switching bodies. Your essence into Buffy, Buffy's into you. However, as we all know such a process is an unnatural one. So the tendency--"
The rogue slayer waved him on impatiently.
"Alright. In short it means the spell is unstable, and therefore very susceptible to outside influences. Fortunate if you're trying to reverse it--"
"Dang, that's a relief." Faith muttered, relaxing a bit.
He looked pointedly at Faith, "but not really ideal to use."
"It didn't come with a warning label, yunno."
Ignoring her comment, Wesley continued, "I've deduced that the general protection spell cast by Willow interacted with the device's magic." He fumbled with his notes, handing Angel another sheet. "Here's what the spell became."
Disinterested in the specifics, Faith pressed for the real answer she sought. "So how are we going to reverse it and undo this?"
The ex-watcher peered at her in confusion. "Undo it?..Faith, I'm not sure I understand."
"Arggh! You know! Make me unpregnant. Like it never happened."
Wesley frowned, "Perhaps I wasn't clear. The spell was altered to..to something that as far as I know has never been tried. I wouldn't even hazard a guess with--"
"Faith, this isn't something that can be reversed," Angel interrupted, looking up from the notes, "but more importantly, we think that this baby should be born."
"Oh you do, do ya?! Then you carry it!" Faith jumped to her feet and started for the door. Instantly, both Angel and Gunn bounded after her. The vampire blocked her path while his employee stood guarding the door.
"Calm down," Wesley inched slowly toward her as well. "You don't want to make any rash decisions."
"Looks like you've got that covered." Faith snapped, turning from her former watcher to look at Angel. "What are ya doin, soul boy? You know I can't be havin' some brat. Especially not this one. So outta my way! Since it's not a demon, I can fix this myself."
"It's not that simple." Angel didn't budge. "This isn't only about the baby, Faith. It's about you... See this as an opportunity."
"To do what?" The slayer scoffed, "Screw up another life? No thanks. I'd always planned on taking a pass on the whole mommy gig. Not really the right type, yunno?" She started edging toward the doors. "Plus I got too much going on. With my sacred duty..and redemption...and a few other things... plate is full."
By now Faith had reached the stairs nearing the exit.
"So you're going to continue down your old path then?" Wesley sniped. "And act like that same selfish slayer that you've always been."
"Wes!" Angel uttered disapprovingly.
"We all knew you didn't really want redemption...not if weren't convenient, right?"
"Hey, wait a sec here! I didn't ask for this!" Faith flared.
"No, but now you have it. It's what you do next that counts."
"What about Buffy? She won't want a kid either. Not one that's half mine."
"Buffy doesn't have to be a part of this." Angel reassured.
The leather-clad beauty hesistated, glancing around at the group staring back. The vampire cautiously crept closer. "But you won't be doing this alone."
"That's right." Gunn cheerfully offered, "Mini-slayer can hang with us anytime. Me and Fred will babysit."
The excited chatter began anew with everyone suggesting various ways that they could pitch in.
This time Faith didn't shy away as Angel reached out to touch her stomach. He could feel the baby's heart beat, a soft fluttering...then gradually he sensed something else. The souled vampire gazed up in wonder but instead only said, "She depends on you now."
The expression on the slayer's face changed to one of pure terror. Faith backed away again.
"Faith, no. Wait, please." Immediately, Angel realized his mistake and reached for her.
"I.. I can't." Hurrying to the doors, Faith prepared to make an escape. She and Gunn faced off but Wesley's words stopped them.
"Let her go." A surprised hush fell on the room. "She has to decide for herself now. But Faith, keep this mind," he waited until her eyes locked with his. "If you abort this child, you will be getting rid of the best gift that you ever have and quite possibly ever will be given. Can you live with that regret?"
Faith soberly replied, "All I live with is regret."
They watched in despair as she walked out.
Three days had passed and still no word on Faith. The vampire paced his office anxiously. *Never should have let her leave. Not like that.*
Growling, he snatched up the phone, unable to take any more of its persistent ringing. "Angel Investigations."
"Angel?"
His tone softened when he heard the voice. "Buffy, hi." A smile instantly appeared on his face. "How are you?"
"Fine. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Everything is so hectic here with the Adam thing and then there's the usual.. Wait! Oops. Hang on, that's my other line. Angel?"
"Yes?" He couldn't help but grin as he listened to her typical rush of sentences.
"Hang on a sec."
He heard the familiar clicking, grateful for the extra minutes the interruption was granting him. Explaining all of this to Buffy, especially after allowing Faith to walk out, was going to be no picnic.
He still had yet to admit to hiding her rival. Now he had to tell her that her sworn enemy was pregnant with her child, and 'oh yeah, by the way she's missing.' Angel groaned, pacing again while waiting for Buffy's return.
The timid knock felt like another reprieve.
"Come in."
Fred scurried in nervously, clutching a letter. "It came today." She lifted her eyes slowly, "Faith's handwriting."
He snatched the letter from her hands and tore into it frantically, desperate for news. After a quick scan, a sick look settled on the vampire's face. He dropped heavily into his chair.
"Is it.. Did she?" Fred asked, saddening when he lifted his head and gave her a nod. "Oh." Her heart sank as she stepped from the room, quietly closing the door. There wouldn't be a baby slayer to shop for. No tiny leather pants to purchase.
Faith strode around to the front of the clinic. It still wasn't open. *Argh! Dammit!* The slayer kicked at the curb in frustration as she gazed around the half empty strip mall. *Who ever heard of an abortion clinic that makes ya wait?! What's the friggin' point anyway?!*
Grumbling to herself, the brunette crossed the street prepared to wander through the only thing open, a bookstore. There was still another twenty minutes or so until her final appointment and "the procedure".
Faith entered the store ignoring the clerk who called out to her. She was bee-lining it to the comic book section when the young man approached.
"Hi there."
The slayer scowled, "What? I ain't gonna steal nothin' if that's what you're worried about."
Whistler smiled, pushing back his hat a bit. "Nah. It's just that what you're looking for is over here."
Faith followed him, frowning. *How the hell would he know what I'm looking for?!* But before the brunette could snap at him, they stopped.
He gave a big grin and gestured to the shelves. "Here's where the good stuff is. Check it out."
The 'clerk' who at this point Faith decided was extremely annoying pulled a book and handed it to her. "One of my favorites."
Faith glanced down at the title, Life Inside Mommy. "What the fuck?!" She dropped the book and grabbed him by the collar, slamming him up against the wall. "Who are you, asshole?!"
Whistler raised his hands. "Hey, just a guy working at a bookstore. That's all." He tilted his head toward the windows and the direction of the clinic. "Lots of dames come in while waiting for their appointment. I just figured you were one of them."
"Ah!" Faith nodded her head as if suddenly understanding, releasing him slowly. "You're one of those anti-abortion weirdos then?" Chuckling, she bent down and picked up the book. "So bible thumper, do you think this is gonna do it?... Change my mind and all?"
When he didn't answer, she tore her eyes from the cover, looking up. He was gone. "Freak," the slayer muttered, turning to put the book back, but the grinning baby on front halted her.
Shrugging, Faith opened it to take a peek. *What can it hurt, right?*
Buffy clicked back over. "Hey, sorry about that. So what did you need to talk to me about?"
Angel tensed and took a breath. His eyes flickered over the letter and Faith's apology.
Sorry soul boy but the baby's no more. Couldn't do it. I've done enough to Buffy. I'm leaving L.A. now but please don't come looking for me. - Faith
"Angel?"
"Yes, I'm here."
"What do you want to tell me?"
He crumpled the letter. "Nothing... Just...How are you?" He swallowed back tears as she chuckled and called him silly. *God I love this girl, and I failed her completely...her, Faith, and the baby.*
Buffy spiraled back into a fit of inane but adorable chatter, entirely unaware of her ex's misery on the other end.
Faith stood, flipping through the book and grinning from ear to ear. All the stuff it was saying seemed so amazing. The book's main thrust apparently was the baby's experience from within the womb.
As the watery rendition of a voice played, visions of her and Buffy's baby filled her head. *Dang, that's what she hears?* Faith turned the page, pressing another of the interactive buttons and smirking at the pop-up. "Whoa!" the slayer looked up and grabbed a nearby patron. "Hey, look at this! A baby can taste what its mother eats. Do you believe this shit?! Kinda cool, don't you think?"
"Yes, very." The man smiled, intrigued by the pretty brunette's enthusiasm. "Are you expecting?"
"Uh.." Faith hesistated, casting a glance toward the clinic. "Sorta."
"Sorry, it's just.." He awkwardly gestured at the book.
Faith stared back down at the babies peering up at her and slowly smiled. "Yeah, I am."
"Congratulations. I'm sure she'll be quite a beauty with a mother like you."
Faith beamed proudly, shrugging. "Naww, you should see her other mother."
She failed to notice the strange expression on the man's face as he politely excused himself.
"Hey bible thumper, I guess I'm gonna need a few of these after all," the slayer poked her head around the corner. Perplexed, she asked, "Yo, where's the other guy?"
"What? I'm sorry miss. I'm the only one working today."
Faith frowned a bit but shook her head, "Never mind. Help me pick a few of these out, willya?"
Faith set down the book that she was skimming and glanced around her shabby motel room. If she was really going to do this then she had to do it right. She couldn't afford to be a flake like her own mother. Not with the baby she was carrying.
According to Wesley and the others, her baby wasn't going to be born just a potential slayer but a full-fledged one, which meant she'd need to be ready. There'd be all kinds of responsibilities with slaying and evil to fight. Her kid wasn't going to shirk her sacred duties like she had. No sir. Faith was determined of that.
Redeeming herself now involved another little life, therefore a plan was in order. Reaching over the dark slayer grabbed a pad of paper from the nightstand and began her list.
"What?! Where?" Buffy rushed over to the table, peering down at the map. "Let's go!"
"Buffy," Giles called out to his slayer as she gathered up weapons, "Don't you think we-"
"No." She cut him off mid-sentence, knowing precisely what he was about to suggest. "We haven't any time. Who knows why Willow and Tara's locating spell suddenly worked or how long it will keep working? But I do know that letting her slip away again isn't an option. It's too risky."
With Giles' heavy sigh, she added, "She's still dangerous, and you know it." Glancing around at the uncertain group, Buffy scowled and pointed to the door. "Now! Everyone in the car!"
Faith took her seat and turned to gaze out the window. She certainly hoped that she was making the right decisions. Choosing not to call Angel or remain in L.A. was difficult for the dark slayer, but allowing the news of their baby to eventually filter back to Buffy was inconceivable.
The blonde already hated her like poison. She couldn't deal with any more animosity from her counterpart. Besides what if Buffy insisted that she have the abortion or even worse took the baby after it were born.
It's not like Faith would blame her either, considering how the brunette came to be pregnant in the first place. Faith frowned as she thought about it. *This whole thing would totally mess with B. She can't ever know.*
Sitting back in her seat, Faith closed her eyes. She was terrified at what lie ahead, yet elated at the prospect of being a parent. Having someone that would always love her and need her was strangely appealing to the brunette. She wouldn't be alone anymore.
Buffy and the scoobs frantically searched the crowded bus terminal, but it was too large with too many traveling. They couldn't keep up with all the activity. Buffy was becoming increasingly frustrated.
"ARGH!" Stamping her foot, the little slayer snatched the crossbow from Giles' bag. Ignoring his clucking sound, the blonde rushed past the ticket takers and toward the line of buses.
"What is it with Faith and buses anyway?!" Buffy grumbled as she stormed down the first row, stopping occasionally to see if she sensed her adversary.
Faith's eyes snapped open, and she abruptly sat up. The sudden rush she felt alerted her that Buffy was near.
Cautiously, the rogue slayer peeked out the window. *Damn!*
Amidst a throng of harried passengers stood a small blonde bearing a crossbow. The petite figure turned slightly, just enough that Faith could make out her features. It was definitely Buffy, looking completely miffed and ready to do some damage.
Watching her, Faith's eyes fell to the crossbow. She had been right. Buffy wanted her dead. Faith quickly ducked down. There was nothing to do but stay low and hope to get lucky.
Buffy turned several times in confusion. She thought she sensed Faith, but something was different. She didn't understand how it could be more intense, yet she couldn't pinpoint the brunette's location.
"Buffy!" Willow, Xander and Giles raced toward her. "What's going on?"
Sadly, Buffy watched the buses pull away and replied, "I wish I knew."
As soon they started moving, Faith straightened in her seat and looked out. *Dang, I'm gonna miss you, B.* She touched her stomach. "At least I got you, little B."

TWO MONTHS LATER
"No, Buffy turn here!"
The slayer cursed under her breath, recklessly pulling the car off the interstate to snatch the map from her watcher. "That can't be right."
"It is, Buffster. You need to go back an exit." Xander leaned forward, pointing at the town that was marked.
Furrowing her brow, Buffy studied the map, wondering out loud, "But why? She can't really hatch any of her nasty plans from way out here." Befuddled, the blonde looked around, muttering, "There isn't even anything to slay."
"Good morning!" Jack cheerfully greeted the striking brunette. He couldn't be more thrilled. This was his shift with Faith.
Perched behind the counter, the brunette slayer sat dutifully checking over the morning deliveries. She was trying to match them with the store's inventory counts but was having little luck.
"Someone screwed up on the ordering again," Faith grumbled without looking up.
"Oh, never mind that. These are for you," the young manager sidled up, wearing his usual lovesick smile. He nervously held out the flowers he had brought, squeaking, "And how are my two best girls today?"
The slayer arched an eyebrow but accepted the bouquet. Sniffing them once, she tossed them on the counter and grunted, "Thanks. Now you better get to work, Romeo. These shelves aren't gonna stock themselves, yunno?"
"Uh-huh." Grinning like an idiot, Jack hopped the counter to grab his smock. At least he could impress her with his lingering athletic abilities. After all he didn't take all-state two years in a row for nothing.
When she didn't look up, the undaunted young man scooted closer. "You know Faith, my uncle will be going out of town this week and I'll be-"
"Whoa!" The slayer gasped, clutching at her stomach in wide-eyed surprise.
"Faith? Faith, what is it?!"
Wearing a proud smile, Faith peered down at her tummy. The baby had just kicked. "Hey there," the dark slayer said softly, gently rubbing her stomach.
Shakily, Jack reached for her. "Is it time?"
"No, dimwit. I have four more months. The baby kicked that's all."
"Can I-"
"Yeah, go ahead."
Eagerly, Jack pressed his hand to Faith's abdomen. "Wow, this kid can kick."
Buffy leaned past the window and peered in. All she could see was a beautiful brunette and some guy pawing her. Squinting, the little slayer looked more closely.
*Faith?* Buffy's smile quickly faded as her eyes settled back on the contact between the two. The counter was blocking her view, but it seemed pretty obvious that Faith was letting the guy cop a feel.
"Argh!" Angrily, Buffy charged through the door. "Faith!" The blonde burst in surprising the couple.
"Shit!" Faith stepped away from Jack. "B..Hi."
"Don't hi me!" The small slayer glared at them. Still unable to see much of her counterpart, she hefted the crossbow and aimed it at the couple. "Hands in the air."
"Take it easy, B."
Faith anxiously raised her hands as Jack motioned to calm the nutty blonde. "Just put the weapon down. Everything's cool."
Buffy's eyes narrowed. "Who is this putz?"
Jack scowled immediately offended. At first he found the jealous little blonde cute and a bit of a relief. It sure explained a lot about Faith's constant rejections. This apparently was her girlfriend. But now that the bitch was pointing a bow and arrow at him and hurling insults; suddenly the babe was no longer appealing.
"Look honey, I don't want to have to hurt you so you better put that down."
"Faith, tell your boyfriend-"
"He's not my boyfriend!" Faith snorted, grabbing Jack's arm. "Watch it or you'll make her wig! Go, okay?"
"Geez! Never mind him." Buffy rolled her eyes before barking out her demands. "Faith, you're coming back with me."
The young slayer hesitated, confused by the command. Buffy wanted her?.. for what? To hurt the baby maybe. Faith desperately glanced around trying to figure out a way to escape. She couldn't risk fighting. She would have to run.
"Now Faith! Come here!" Buffy leveled the crossbow, hoping her bluff would work.
In the past Faith would've simply attacked, but she had their baby to think of now. Slowly, she walked from behind the counter, revealing her condition for the first time to Buffy.
The blonde slayer gasped, lowering the crossbow as Willow rushed in with Xander close behind.
"Holy Crap!"
"My sentiments exactly." Willow whispered to her wide-eyed companion. Xander closed his mouth and glanced between the two slayers who now stared quietly at each other.
Giles nodded pleasantly at the passerby before poking his head into the shop. "Buffy, what's--" The question died in his throat as his eyes settled on the very pregnant Faith who stood rubbing her belly and wearing a pained expression. He peeked back over at his slayer.
Buffy was clutching the crossbow so tightly it snapped. Hurriedly, the watcher entered the store and approached the rogue slayer. "Faith, are you alright?"
"Yeah, the baby.." Faith felt faint as she leaned against Giles for support. "She's kicking so much. I don't know...she doesn't usually."
"It's okay. Xander, help me with her!" Giles ordered, catching Faith as she fell back.
It only took Buffy a moment to act. Instantly, she was at the brunette's side, holding her.
"Don't..don't hurt my baby." Faith whimpered, cupping her stomach protectively.
The little slayer could barely bite back her jealousy as she lifted Faith in her arms. "Is it his?" Buffy jerked back toward the cowering young man.
Jack straightened and cleared his throat. "No, but I would be happy to marry Faith and take care of her and the baby."
Buffy growled, stepping menacingly toward him.
"Buffy, not now! Take Faith to the car." Giles directed impatiently.
Once they were in the car and headed off, Buffy did a quick mental calculation. Based on how far along Faith looked, it meant she practically jumped in bed the second her and Buffy had separated that night.
Bitterly, the little blonde sniped, "Did you even wait a day?"
"Huh?" Faith turned her pale face toward the angry slayer. "What are you talking about?"
Buffy jabbed Faith's abdomen. "This!"
"Careful!" The dark slayer screeched, holding her swollen midsection.
Guiltily, Buffy glanced down and reached out. This time she gently touched the brunette's tummy and was rewarded with a soft tap in response.
"Hey!" Buffy smiled despite herself. "It...it knocked."
"She." Faith corrected.
Wordlessly, the small slayer caressed Faith's stomach, enjoying the warmth under her fingertips. The baby was tapping a rhythm, almost a Morse code. The delightful tingle was somehow familiar...slayerish. Buffy lifted her eyes to look questioningly at Faith.
Nervously, the brunette pushed her hands away. "Cut it out, willya?!"
Embarrassed, Buffy turned from Faith and asked in a cutting tone, "What happened? Couldn't afford an abortion?!"
"Buffy!" Giles reprimanded, peering into the backseat at the two scowling slayers. "Both of you be quiet. We have a long ride ahead, and I don't want to hear anymore arguing."
"Wait! I want my stuff." Faith motioned for him turn.
"Forget it. It's a trick." Buffy gestured for her watcher to go straight.
"B, don't test me." The brunette shoved her back.
"Ugh! That's it!"
Soon Buffy was on top, holding Faith gently but firmly.
"Girls! Girls stop it this instant." Giles shouted, pulling to the side of the road.
The scoobies jumped out and opened the back door, but Buffy didn't budge. She straddled the pregnant slayer, gazing down at her full lips. Faith's mouth looked so delicious. Buffy just ached to kiss her. Cheated on or not, a Faithy kiss would be so yummy.
"Faith..don't make this harder than it has to be." Buffy whispered still staring at Faith's luscious lips.
"B, I need my stuff. Vitamins and my clothes and-"
"Buffy, we can get her stuff." Willow slipped into the back and nudged the blonde off while Xander returned to the front seat.
"Yeah, Buffster. No sweat. Wil and me will run in and pack it up. You can stay outside with Faith."
Both scoobies worriedly eyed the oddly behaving slayers. Between Faith's shocking condition and Buffy's strange response the two weren't quite sure what to do. The rogue slayer seemed preoccupied with protecting her baby and Buffy seemed preoccupied with touching Faith. It was weirdness all around. Tensely, Xander and Willow turned from the scene, trying not to notice Buffy's wandering hands.
"Dammit B! Stop it!" Faith slapped away the blonde's hands again. The baby's enthusiastic reaction was beginning to worry the brunette slayer. Every time Buffy touched her tummy the baby tapped as if sending a message.
Right now it appeared that Buffy was clueless, and Faith intended on keeping it that way. The safest thing for little B was to keep Buffy and the others in the dark. Faith covered her stomach and swatted at Buffy who had snuggled close.
"Faith, just let me." Buffy breathed heavily, rubbing against the brunette, "I just want to.." Without finishing her sentence, the older slayer dipped down and kissed Faith's neck.
*Fuck!* Faith moaned softly and leaned into the smaller slayer's arms. "Oh Buffy...mmm.."
"Faith!" Buffy shook the sleeping brunette gently.
"What?!" Faith sat up, blushing brightly when she noticed the scoobs and Buffy staring.
"I think you fell asleep and were dreaming."
"Whatever." The rogue slayer pushed Buffy back but allowed Willow to stretch toward her and touch her tummy even Xander reached over from the front seat to feel the pounding baby.
"Pretty active." He noted, glancing at Willow.
"How much longer?" the red head asked, tenderly touching along the small protrusion, presumably the baby's tiny fist.
"Four months." Faith wouldn't look at the little blonde as she answered the scoobies' questions.
"Where's the baby's father?" Giles peered into the rear view mirror, taking in Faith's sudden discomfort.
"There isn't one." Faith instantly wanted to kick herself as the Willow's eyes narrowed with suspicion. Luckily, she had little B for that though. "Shit!" The slayer groaned and grabbed her stomach. "Wish she'd settle down."
Buffy ignored Faith's protests and gently placed her palms on the brunette's stomach. Slowly she massaged until the movement stopped, both baby and mother relaxed. Faith closed her eyes and allowed herself to be held as Buffy pulled her near.
"Just go back to sleep, Faith."
"No, not until I know what you're gonna do." The brunette muttered. Panicked, she pushed from the inviting softness of Buffy's arms. It would too easy to do what Buffy wanted and just go along quietly with whatever little plan B cooked up, but this time there was more at stake. "I'm keeping my baby, B. Understand?"
Buffy could feel that frustration resurfacing. Her irritation at Faith's single mindedness was inevitable. With how protective Faith was, it could only mean one thing. Faith obviously loved this baby's father a great deal despite the nonchalant attitude that she feigned.
"Fine," the blonde ground out between clenched teeth. "Lay back now before the baby starts kicking the crap out of you again."
Faith reluctantly allowed herself to be helped from vehicle. Her back was sore and she felt too stiff to object as Buffy delicately eased her out.
Joyce stood waiting. An odd air of excitement seemed to be surrounding the once reticent woman. From the moment Buffy had called and filled her on Faith's condition, Joyce found herself becoming more acclimated to the idea.
A new baby in the house became a thrilling prospect to Joyce so much so that Mrs. Summers was soon buzzing around the place preparing. Even stopping to call several of her friends and one of the neighbor boys to assist in bringing things from storage.
Now she was on the porch like an expectant parent, eager to assist her daughter's "special friend". Regardless of how Buffy phrased it, Mrs. Summers knew best. Something was definitely up when it came to Buffy and Faith. No one else could ever get Buffy to act that crazy not even Angel.
"Hello Faith." Joyce greeted the dark slayer, carefully watching for the softness she felt certain would now be present.
Faith looked up nervously and smiled, uncomfortable but without malice this time. Mrs. Summers relaxed. The prospect of motherhood had changed Faith afterall.
"When are you due?" Joyce was unable to hide her enthusiasm as she approached.
"Hi," Faith peered anxiously at Buffy. This felt in no way appropriate. Last she saw Mrs. Summers was while taunting her and carrying Buffy off to torture and now Buffy brought her here pregnant... too weird.
Faith frowned slightly, stepping back. "I have four months to go."
Tentatively, Mrs. Summers reached out.
Faith rolled her eyes but grinned. "Go ahead." She offered, presenting her stomach, "Everyone else does."
Buffy ignored Faith's remark and immediately touched the tummy, telling her mom, "This kid kicks all the time and taps out little sos's or something. It's hilarious." The slayer grabbed her mother's hand, "Here."
Joyce's eyes went wide as Buffy placed her hand on the spot. The baby had come forward and begun the intermittent taps again.
"Buffy, I think the baby is responding to you. You use to do that when your father touched me."
Faith scowled and pushed their hands away. "Nah, she does that all the time." Walking past the pair and toward the house, she asked, "Mrs. S, do have anything to eat? I'm starved."
Joyce smiled and followed the younger slayer in while waving for her daughter to help with Faith's belongings.
"That's nice. Suddenly, I'm forgotten." Buffy griped as she went to get a bag from the scoobs.
Buffy carried the items in while Faith sat listening to Mrs. Summers and stuffing mini egg rolls in her mouth.
"Yeah? So was B all spazzy as a baby or what?"
"She was definitely what is known as precocious." Joyce chuckled and held out the tray for Faith to grab a couple more.
When Buffy finally made her way into the room there was only one remaining. Happily the little blonde reached for the last egg roll but a tad too slow. Faith snatched it up and popped it into her mouth with a grin.
"Oops. Sorry B. The baby's hungry." Settling back, she smirked at Buffy's pout.
"Honey, go fix yourself something else." Mrs. Summers waved her daughter off as she placed the photo album in front of Faith. "There. That's my baby."
"Awww...dang, B was a cute little runt." Faith absently rubbed her tummy, wondering if her baby would have the same button nose, beautiful green eyes, and happy smile. She hoped so. She hoped her baby would look exactly like Buffy, and be like her too...perfect.
"Faith." Buffy called out from the kitchen, "Would you like something else to eat?"
"Uh no. I'm good for now." Faith awkwardly got to her feet. "I should unpack I guess."
"Buffy, come help Faith." Joyce directed as the little blonde came back into the room.
"Yeah mom, I will." Buffy rushed to take Faith's arm.
"Damn, I'm pregnant not crippled. Do ya mind?!"
"Sweetie, I meant with getting settled. She can still walk." Mrs. Summers clucked, amused by Buffy's excessively protective nature.
Distressed, the small slayer lingered back trying not to interfere as Faith waddled slightly toward the stairs. Her eyes dipped down and took in Faith's still very sexy bottom. Feeling aroused, Buffy stretched her hand out and caressed the brunette's backside as they made their way up.
"Hey! Whaddya think you're doing?!"
Buffy hurriedly smacked her ass and gave Faith a delicate push. "Just trying to get you to the top floor, slowpoke."
Faith furrowed her brow but continued without stopping. She felt so tired and little Buffy junior was giving her no brakes tonight. Kicking and knocking once more, the tiny tot seemed to be vying for her other mommy's attention.
Buffy quickly moved past her, and took arm. "Faith, just lay down for now. I'll unpack your stuff."
"Wait." Faith paused to catch her breath before glancing up at Buffy. "We have to talk first."
"Okay." The pretty little blonde agreed as she dragged her counterpart to her bed. "Sleep here tonight. I want to keep an eye on you."
"Oh yeah." Snickering, Faith asked, "What's to keep me from just running off tomorrow?"
Buffy hesitated, considering the question, "Fine. You'll just have to sleep with me every night."
Faith arched an eyebrow but said nothing as Buffy rushed into her usual stream of words.
"Here's the deal, Faith. You stay here where I can keep an eye on you. Have the baby; I'll do the slaying. Me and my mom will help out and the father.. the father will--" Buffy stopped and studied Faith. "Who is the father, Faith? I mean what happens when he shows up and wants to take the baby?"
"I'll fight anyone who tries to take her from me." Faith said quietly, turning away from her former rival.
Buffy squelched her jealous nature and took Faith's hand. "I will too."
Faith couldn't help but smile. It was one of the sweetest things anyone had ever offered to do. She awkwardly added, "But he won't come. As far as my baby is concerned no daddy exists."
Buffy gave her a strange look. Realizing her blunder, Faith blustered. "I haven't told him."
"What?! Faith, that's wrong!"
"Whaddya mean? You just said--"
"I know I said I would fight the guy if he tried to take-" Buffy glanced down and touched the brunette's tummy, "baby slayer." She lifted her eyes and grinned suddenly.
"You may be having a mini slayer. That's why she's such a kicker. Faith, I bet she's a potential."
"Yeah. She's something alright."
"No Faith, I'm serious. I can feel it almost." Buffy's fingertips skated over Faith's flesh, causing both of them to gasp at the sensation.
"Don't." The younger slayer breathed softly, trying to move from Buffy's persistent touch.
"Come on, Faith. I heard you in the car." Buffy whispered as she pressed the brunette to the wall. "You remember that night too."
"Fuck." Faith moaned against Buffy's mouth as the little blonde's silky lips were crushed against her own. The kiss was electrifying, leaving both slayers shaky as they broke apart.
"Buffy..Faith... Girls, are you getting everything done?" Mrs. Summers could be heard heading up the stairs.
"Yes mom." Buffy tripped in her effort to close the door. Too late. Joyce stood peering in at the disheveled slayers.
"Buffy go easy on Faith now. No rough housing." Mrs. Summers gave Faith a knowing smile, causing her to blush as the door was closed.
The dark slayer glanced down and noticed her shirt had been unbuttoned and her bra was showing. "Christ B, what's your mom gonna think?"
Buffy shoved her toward the bed. "Doesn't matter. Faith, I want you. I want this. Don't you? I mean, I know you cheated on me." Her gaze dropped to Faith's swollen tummy. "I don't care though. I still want you... want us."
"Why?" Faith backed from Buffy, fearfully. It was too good to be true. She couldn't believe it. She couldn't risk trusting Buffy.
"You're all I thought about for the last five months." The tiny blonde pinned her against the wall. "Faith, I felt something...something special, when we made love. I know you did too. I saw it in your eyes."
Faith squeezed her eyes shut, the color rushing to her cheeks. "B, get off me. I can't. Just cut it out."
The baby gave Faith angry kick.
"Oww! Shit!" Faith grunted in pain and clutched her stomach.
"Faith!" Buffy caught her and guided her back to the bed. "I'm sorry. Shhhh...relax."
"What's going on?" Mrs. Summers was in the room instantly. "Buffy get Faith some water."
Buffy pouted as she made her way down. "Good job," she chastised herself as she filled the glass, "Way to spook her off, Buffy. Ugh! I'm such a dope!"
