Crouching low, the young girl hovered behind the tomb as the object of her affection approached. *There she is.*
A small blonde girl whistling and twirling a stake sauntered past. "Come out. Come out. Where ever you are?" The pretty slayer chuckled as a fresh vamp lunged at her. "That's it. Make it easy for me."
She plunged the stake in his chest without breaking her stride and continued on, still whistling. A small smile played upon her perfect mouth, her green eyes glittering as she hopped onto a headstone and sat, swinging her feet. "Anyone else?" She called out daringly.
The girl watching sucked in her breath, awed by the tiny blonde as usual. *She hasn't changed a bit.* She smiled at the thought as she continued to spy. *Buffy Summers still looks like an angel... miss perfect and pure...* Enjoying her proximity the girl knelt lower, sighing as a tingle traveled down her spine. *Mmmm... slayer senses...* Her head suddenly pricked up when she realized that her quarry would feel it too.
Sure enough, the cute blonde's head lifted and turned in her direction. "Who's there?!"
*Oh shit!* The brunette huddled against the tomb, glancing around for an escape.
"Just me, pet." A bleach blonde vampire stepped from the shadows.
"Spike!" The small slayer growled in aggravation. "Stop following me!"
"Just checking up on you, that's all." He held out his hand and helped her down. The brunette leaned forward observing as the petite slayer accepted the hand and slid off the tombstone.
"Ugh! Fine, just stop sneaking up on me, will you?" She landed on her feet, her newly cut hair swirling around her pretty face.
"So what's the what?" He nervously asked, kicking at the dirt.
"Huh?!" She barely could contain her irritation as she turned and started walking away. The brunette smiled, a lovesick expression plastered on her face as the blonde drew nearer.
"I just wanted to know..." Spike spoke anxiously.
"Shhh!" Buffy hushed him in annoyance. She was feeling the tingling again. It was a delicious and familiar sensation, but she couldn't quite place it yet. "Be quiet, Spike."
He rolled his eyes but remained still as the slayer tilted her head and listened. "Over there!" She pointed at the tomb where the brunette was perched.
*Crap!* The girl slipped into the brush, cursing as the branches tore at her leather. *Damn slayer senses.* She backed away far enough to assure herself that she was out of range before peeking over.
"Nothing is out here, pet. I think you're a little mixed up. Let me walk you home."
Buffy cast one last glance toward the trees and the tomb. "Fine." The pretty blonde slayer shrugged and walked toward home with Spike trailing after her.
The brunette followed too with her eyes, watching as her salvation left. She frowned and slipped back into the darkness.
Faith held up the delicate bracelet, indecisively. "Are you sure that this is some sort of heirloom?"
"Yes, Miss. It is quite a treasure. Each of these little dangling pearls is handcrafted and the stones here... well it's exquisite work. Shall I wrap it up for you?"
"Uh... yeah. Thanks. Maybe you have something I can put it with. An animal or somethin'."
The jeweler made a face. "I'm sorry miss. An animal?"
"Ya know, like a stuffed bear or somethin' cutsie." Faith blushed as she looked away.
"Um.. no, I'm sorry miss. We don't have anything like that." The man cleared his throat uncomfortable. "We just carry fine jewelry and precious stones." He gestured toward the cases.
The snooty assistant chimed in. "Why don't you try a department store or somewhere more common."
The brunette glared, dangerously close to punching him out. "Yeah, sure. Whatever. Just wrap it, Jeeves, and I'll be on my way."
The jeweler pulled the clerk into the back. "You fool. What are you doing? That girl has been left a fortune. Don't be rude again!"
Properly chastised the assistant came out, smiling, ready to ring up the young girl's purchase. "We do have this lovely antique music box. Perhaps you could place the bracelet in this."
A large smile spread across the dark slayer's face as she lifted the Tiffany glass box. "Yes, I like this. I like this a lot."
Faith slipped silently into Buffy's bedroom and placed the carefully wrapped gift on her bed. She turned and ran her hand wistfully over the pillow. *Oh B.* Shaking it off, she climbed back out the window. *Time to wait.*
She soon was rewarded as the giggling slayer bounced into her room with her little sister close behind.
"Buffy, you goof..." Dawn called out still laughing at whatever joke they had just shared. "Hey, what's that?" She pointed at the small package laying on the pillow.
Buffy lifted the gift and carefully unwrapped it. She turned the beautiful music box around and opened it, then slowly pulled the bracelet out, her eyes big with wonder.
"Wow! From Spike?" Dawn touched the jewelry, almost reverently. She had never seen anything so delicate and expensive looking. "How do suppose he bought this?"
"My guess would be that he didn't." The blonde growled slipping it back in the box. "It must be stolen."
The brunette scowled and backed away from the window. *Spike? Why would Spike give her anything?!* She jumped down and headed in the direction of the cemetery.
"Spike!" Buffy threw open the tomb in a rage. "What is this?!" She held the glass box up.
"It looks like a music box, pet." The blonde vampire snorted and turned away.
"Yes, I can see that!" She spoke through gritted teeth. "I want to know why the hell you left it in my house! On my bed, to be specific. I don't appreciate it! Especially since it's obviously stolen!"
"What? Stolen? Who'd steal such a trinket?!" Spike laughed reaching for the object.
Buffy glared as she opened the box and pulled the bracelet out. It glimmered and sparkled in the dim light.
"Woah kitten! Lemme see that!" He reached eagerly for the prize, but Buffy snatched it back.
"Wait a minute! You haven't seen this before?"
"No, but lemme have a look now." Buffy reluctantly released the bracelet, watching as Spike turned it over in his hands. "This has to have been a fortune, luv. Where'd you get it?"
"I told you. Someone left it in my house. On my bed actually." The slayer wrinkled her brow, confused.
"No note?"
"No." Buffy's face changed. She nervously peered over at him. "You really didn't leave it, Spike?"
"It wasn't me, pet. Trust me, if I left something this exquisite I'd want credit." He chuckled as he handed the jewelry back to her.
The brunette listened carefully from outside. *Well at least he's being honest. That's a good. But what is Buffy doing here anyway?*
"Looks like you have a secret admirer, blondie." He snickered as Buffy tucked the bracelet back into the box.
"Great. That's what I need another psycho in love with me." The little slayer growled turning on her heel. "I have to go."
"Face it slayer, you attract a bad element." He shouted after her retreating form. "Come and visit anytime!"
Faith ducked behind the bushes as Buffy stormed out.
PART 3 - DoubleMeat DoubleTreat
"Hi. Welcome to the DoubleMeat Palace, may I help you?" Buffy looked past the customer and at the back of the brunette leaving. She couldn't help but try and catch a glimpse of the beautiful girl. She noticed other customers and employees gawking and was curious. But the girl exited before she was able to get a good look. Buffy sighed with disappointment and turned back to the customer. "So have you decided?"
Faith ducked around the building, chuckling. *Buffy tried to check me out! Wow! Buffy's jumped the fence? I knew Willow had... but Buffy?!* The brunette shook her head as she leaned up against the wall to light a cigarette.
A flame flashed before her. "Oh. Hey, thanks." She looked up to see Spike standing in front of her. She tipped her cigarette forward to light it, sucking slowly while she considered the blonde vampire.
"Don't mention it." He flicked his zippo closed and studied the brunette. "Do I know you?"
"I don't think so."
"I'm Spike. And you are?"
"Leaving. Thanks for the light." Faith pushed off of the wall with her boot and started to walk away.
"Hey wait." The bad boy chased after the brunette, intrigued. "What's your name? Come on, gorgeous... How will I see you again?"
"You won't if I can help it." She called back, strutting down the alley.
"Hey Spike, what are you doing?" Buffy stood behind him watching his eyes follow the brunette. *I just missed seeing her again. Darn!* She turned toward the bleach blonde vampire. "Who was that?"
"The second sexiest girl in the world." He leered at Buffy.
"Argh! Spike, go home!" The little slayer turned and went back inside.
Faith closed her apartment door, and flopped down onto her bed. She closed her eyes and thought of Buffy standing at the counter taking orders. "Yeah, I know what I want. I'll take a large order of Buffy Summers." She laughed at her cheesy joke, and rolled over to take a nap.
She wanted to be well rested for their patrol tonight. Faith was finding that it took quite a bit of extra energy to remain unseen. Letting Spike catch a glimpse of her today was a miscalculation on her part. But she wouldn't make the same mistake twice. She now realized that staying hidden from him was going to be as tricky as hiding from Buffy. Apparently he was following the golden slayer too.
Faith frowned at that realization. The blonde vampire seemed unworthy to her. *He's not near good enough for you, B. But then again, no one really is.* The dark slayer sighed and drifted off to sleep with images of a little blonde DoubleMeat employee, flitting through her head.
"Xander, watch out!" Buffy shoved him out of her way and struck the vampire.
"Buffy, behind you!" Willow shouted as she was thrown to the ground.
"Quick you guys, back out of here. There's too many." Buffy lifted Tara up and turned toward Spike who was fighting three... no two. She blinked and shook her head. *I'm seeing things.*
"Wil!" Buffy rushed toward the red head prepared to rescue her, but the vampire was ash before she could swing the stake. "Huh?! Okay, let's get out of here. C'mon!" She pulled the rest of the scoobies back just as another vamp turned to dust.
"Did you see that?!" Spike shouted back to Buffy.
"Yes, I'm not blind you know!" The little slayer huffed indignant. Another vampire lunged out at her. Faith lifted her crossbow and took careful aim. Poof! He shattered into dust right in front of Buffy. Spike had run over just in time to get a mouthful. He coughed violently and cursed.
"Well, what the bloody hell is going on?!"
"I don't know. But I intend on finding out!" The blonde slayer did a spinning kick and staked another another vamp before heading in the direction the arrow had come from.
*Oh shit!* Faith rolled into a nearby open grave, landing with a thud. "Awww fuck! That hurt!" She lay there hardly breathing, waiting to hear Buffy run by. *Nothing. Hmm?* The brunette slowly lifted herself from the grave. Just as she was climbing out a hand grabbed hers. "HOLY FUCK!" She tried to pull away, but the hand easily held her and plucked her out. She found herself standing face to face with Buffy Summers.
"Hi B. Uh... how's it going?" She smiled nervously at the little slayer. Buffy frowned then swung. Bam! Everything went black for Faith.
"Dammit! Guys, over here!" Buffy lifted the unconscious brunette into her arms as she turned toward the others. "I found our mysterious guardian angel. C'mon, back to the house."
"Hey, that's her!" Spike called out excited.
"Her what? Faith?" Buffy cradled the girl in her arms, as they walked.
"Faith? That's Faith?! Bloody hell! She's the one I saw yesterday. The one who was watching you through the window. You know, at that god awful job of yours."
*So she's the brunette.* "I should have known." The tiny slayer resisted Spike's attempt to take Faith. "It's okay. I've got her, Romeo. She's my responsibility."
The blonde vampire shrugged and released the brunette as Xander, Willow, and Anya rushed up.
"What's going.. Oh my god!"
Tara was close behind. "Faith!"
"Yes, everyone. It's Faith. We've established that. Now we need to get back to the house before those vampires regroup." Buffy readjusted Faith in her arms as they walked.
Xander peered over Buffy's shoulder gazing at the slightly bruised slayer. She still looked amazing. "Buff, what are you going to do with her?"
"What any normal person does with a violent criminal. Lock her up." The little blonde stated matter-of-factly.
Faith groaned, coming to slowly. "Owww.. fuck!" She tried to touch her aching cheek, but the chains were heavy. She could barely raise her hand. "Dammit!"
"Watch your language, please." Buffy scolded, gently wiping Faith's brow.
"Huh?" The brunette opened her eyes, squinting at the figure leaning over her. "Wha..where am I?"
"Your new home, Faith." Buffy helped her to sit up.
"Buffy?"
"The one and only." The tiny slayer smirked, sarcastically. "Are you thirsty?" She held a glass for Faith to take a sip.
"I don't understand. Why?" The brunette gestured at her chains.
"You don't understand?! Well let me explain it to you, Faith! I don't trust you!" Buffy shouted, causing Faith to grab her head in agony.
"Okay. Okay. Please don't yell. My head is killing me. You still got quite a punch, B." The brunette smiled appreciatively.
Buffy shrugged and got up. "Well, unless you need anything else. I'm going to bed."
"Huh?" Faith glanced around and realized that she was chained in the basement. "Wait. You can't just chain me and keep me. I served my time. I'm out on the up and up."
"I can. And I will. You're not going anywhere, Faith. Not until I decide you can. Do you understand?" Buffy arched an eyebrow as she made her way up the stairs. "Nighty-night, little Faith."
"Hey! Hey! Come back here! Hey! I got rights, ya know!" Faith called after the blonde slayer, shocked by the turn of events. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine Buffy would hold her captive. No, not saintly little Buffy. "HEY! B! HEY!" She struggled against the chains futilely.
Faith gave up tugging at the chains and laid back, staring up at the ceiling and contemplating the situation. Oddly enough, escaping didn't seem to be foremost on her mind. She still was trying to work out what she was feeling. She wasn't exactly mad, more surprised.
All things considered this certainly wasn't the worst response. It wasn't expected; that's for sure, but not the worst. The worst response would have been B sending her away, and then second worst would have been B trying to kill her. So all in all this wasn't even really bad. Faith smiled and clasped her hands behind her head, sighing.
After all, she did want to be near Buffy, and you can't get much nearer than being chained up in the Summers' house. Of course, chained in Buffy's bedroom would be better, but baby steps. Faith chuckled and rolled over to check out her new digs.
*What was it Buffy called it... my new home?* She smiled and closed her eyes. *Fine by me, B. Fine by me... anything to be near you.* The brunette sighed content. She was finally close to her fellow slayer. Buffy was just upstairs somewhere. The dark slayer fell asleep happy.
Buffy went quietly down the stairs to check on her prisoner. She found Faith curled on her side, asleep. Reaching down, she carefully pushed a few locks of hair from the dark slayer's face, smiling, as the pretty brunette grumbled.
"Hmmm... you actually look really sweet right now." Buffy whispered softly, caressing the younger girl gently. She leaned forward and kissed Faith lightly the cheek. "You're going to be good this time, Faithy. I'm not going to let you be anything else. You're going to behave this time or else." With that she pinched Faith lightly, waking her up.
"Ouch! Hey, what gives?!" The brunette sat up, displeased at being so rudely awakened.
"Rise and shine, Faith. We have a big day ahead of us." Buffy smirked at the younger girl's grumpy expression. "Awww... Are you always grouchy in morning, Faithy?"
"Not usually. But how `bout me pinchin' you. We'll see if you like that." Faith rubbed her eyes and stretched. "What time is it anyway?"
"Time for you to answer some questions. Mainly, why did you come back to Sunnydale?"
The moment of truth was at hand for Faith. She took a deep breath, nervous. "I... I wanted to make it up to you. I think I can help out if you let me." Faith's eyes filled with tears. She was so afraid of the impending rejection; she closed her eyes tight to steel herself against it. But it didn't come, just silence. She opened her eyes to see Buffy straddling a chair in front of her and resting her chin on the back, studying her.
"Alright Faith. I'll give you this chance, but it's your last. And you're going to have to play it my way. Do you understand?"
Faith only nodded as Buffy got up and unchained her. She sat rubbing her wrists and listening to Buffy's demands.
"First of all, you're going to stay here. So I can keep tabs you. Secondly, I'm your new watcher, and you're going to obey me without question. Thirdly, you're going to help around the house, and pay rent. And lastly you're going to apologize and make amends with the others. You got it?"
"Yeah sure, B. I can do all of that. But I don't need to stay here. Ya know, I got my own place."
"No, it's here or no deal. I want to be able to keep an eye on you." Buffy glanced around the basement. "We can clean this up. Make this look better. It'll be a decent room." She turned back to Faith. "So?"
"Yeah, okay B. It's all good." Faith wanted to maintain her cool, but her heart was doing triple time. "Not as nice as my new place, but I can adjust." She tried to be casual, running her hand through her tangled locks, and reaching in her pocket for a cigarette.
"No smoking." Buffy frowned, displeased that the brunette had picked up the habit.
"Um... yeah, okay B." The little slayer reached and snatched the pack from her.
This isn't going to be easy, but Faith still couldn't believe her good fortune. Staying here with B, being around her, and having Buffy care... well, it seemed like winning the lottery. She couldn't keep the smile from her face.
Buffy had one other question. She stood up and turned away from the brunette, uncomfortable with what it might mean, but she had to ask. "Faith, did you leave me a gift?"
"No. Why would I do that?!" Faith looked away embarrassed.
"Is this how you want to start out? Lying?" She stared closely at the brunette, causing her to blush furiously, before relenting. "Okay, Faith. Get up. We have to go get your stuff."
Faith scrambled after her little goddess, prepared to do whatever was necessary. She had not realized how elated forgiveness might feel, but if this was a taste, she wanted more.
"Right behind ya, B."
"Yep. I know." Buffy climbed the stairs, closing her eyes against the delicious tingling that now enveloped. It felt good. She hoped Faith wouldn't let her down. She didn't want to ever lose this feeling again. It reminded her of heaven. Sighing she opened the basement door, and let Faith walk past her just to reassure herself that brunette was really back.
PART 6 - Faith's New Little Friend
Buffy spoke to the scoobies while Faith waited in the training room. She could hear arguing and some complaining and then silence. The door opened quickly and startled her.
"C'mon Faith, time to go home and get you settled." Buffy sounded resolute.
"Uh... yeah, sure." The brunette walked out, nervous about facing the waiting scoobies.
"Faith, we've all talked this out, and we're willing to give you this last chance, but if you screw up..." Willow's words hung in the air, just as the threat was meant to.
"I know, Red. I got it. Thanks." Faith glanced at her fellow slayer, blushing. "I'm not gonna let Buffy down. Not this time.... not ever again." Buffy's expression remained unreadable.
"It's good to have you back. I missed you." Dawn rushed over and hugged her.
"Missed you too, kiddo." Faith returned the hug then stepped over to Xander and held out her hand.
"I want you to know I'm sorry and I hope we can work together... no hard feelings?" Faith smiled as Xander took her hand, shaking it vigorously.
"I guess we can use another, slayer. Hellmouth and all..." He cleared his throat awkwardly and moved back over to Anya's side.
Spike saw this as an opportunity and made his way over to the brunette. "Hey there gorgeous, remember me?"
Faith snickered and took his hand. She didn't notice Buffy's eyes narrowing.
"Okay, that's enough. We need to get Faith's stuff moved in, and a schedule set. Willow, Tara we'll see you at the house. Dawn, Faith get it the car." Buffy ordered the group about. They obeyed without question. Faith smiled as she fell into line with them.
"Dawn, get in here. Dinner's ready. Oh and go get Faith."
The teenager gave an exasperated sigh and stomped out of the room to do as she was told.
"Faaaiithh!" She knocked heavily at the door trying to be heard over Faith's music.
"Enter."
"Hey." The younger brunette pushed the door open cautiously.
"Hey yourself." Faith smiled up at her.
"Wow Faith, you really fixed it up down here." Dawn stood hesitantly on the stairs.
"Yeah? Thanks."
"Can I come down?"
"Sure, peanut."
Dawn scrunched up her face at the nickname, but smiled despite herself. Faith had invited her into her room; and that's more than Buffy would ever do.
"Wow, the place really looks great. It's a total hang out now. I can't believe how cool you made it."
The dark slayer grinned, proud of herself. She'd only been there two days, but was pretty pleased with how the place turned out. It was great having a ton of money. She could throw it away on anything she saw fit. Faith went all out and furnished the little basement.
"Do you think B will like it?"
Dawn rolled her eyes. "Who cares?!"
"Hey you two! Get your butts up here! Dinner is getting cold."
"Oops. Uh... yeah, I was supposed to tell ya." Dawn looked down, embarrassed that she had gotten Faith in trouble.
"It's okay, kiddo. We'll suffer together." She winked at the teenager as they got up and made their way up the stairs.
The blonde slayer gave them a disapproving look as they sat down. "Wil, are you going to school tomorrow?"
"Yes, why?"
"I want you to take Faith with you and get her signed up to take the G.E.D. test."
"What?! I don't need to take any test, B."
"Yes, you do if you're going to sign up at the college. Cut your steak smaller, Faith."
"I didn't say nothin' about any college classes." Faith frowned.
"No but I am. Dawn, you need to eat more vegetables. You too Faith." Buffy reached over and scooped more peas onto both the girls plates causing them to groan in unison.
Tara smiled at the scene. "I'll take Faith to sign up. Willow's got an early exam."
"Yeah, that would be better Buffy." The red head agreed. "Is Faith going to start training with you? We should have the class times figured out first." Willow smiled as she reached past the younger slayer. She knew going to school was the last thing Faith had intended so it seemed fitting punishment. She was more than willing to help that along.
Dawn and Faith sat making faces as they were discussed. Dawn giggling occasionally as Faith rolled her eyes. Buffy looked up in annoyance.
"Uh... sorry, B. Just messing around."
"If you two are done with dinner you're excused. Take your plates in the kitchen."
"Cool. Hey, Dawn ya wanna come downstairs and hang out while I finish my room."
"Yeah." The teenager perked up excited.
"Dawn, you have homework."
"Awww.. she can bring it downstairs. C'mon B." Faith asked sweetly with Dawn whining in the backround.
"Pleassseee Buffy."
"Fine, but I'm going to check it before you go to bed." The two brunettes ran out of the room as if escaping some torture.
"Buffy, do you really think Faith is a good person to let Dawn hang around?" Willow watched after them uncertain.
"In the past, no. But I trust Dawn's judgment... We'll see about Faith's." Buffy said under her breath as she heard the two girls stomping down the stairs and into the basement.
"So Faith tell me... Did you give my sister that bracelet?" Dawn gave the older girl a knowing look.
"Can you keep a secret, half-pint?"
"Yeah." Dawn edged closer as Faith turned the stereo up.
"Yup. Did she like it?"
"Well, yeah but she thinks freaky Spike gave it to her so she won't wear it."
"Nah, kiddo. I think she knows. She already asked me." The brunette slayer got up to hang another picture.
"Really? So you like my sister." Dawn grinned big. She was in on a secret. A secret that involved her sister. This was too cool. "You want me to tell you a secret?"
"What?" Faith adjusted the frame. Trying to straighten it. "How does this look?"
"Cool. Now listen. Buffy, doesn't know that I know this. But her and Spike... well Spike likes her. You know that don't you?"
Faith nodded, trying to hide her jealousy. "Yeah, so?" She turned to nail another picture up.
"Well her and Spike have kissed." Dawn giggled. Faith totally missed the nail, putting the hammer into the wall. "Oops! You better hang a picture over that or Buffy will kill you." The little brunette laughed as Faith pulled the hammer loose.
Faith watched wearily as Buffy circled her again. She was supposed to being blocking the smaller slayer's attacks, but the proximity of the tiny blonde was proving to be too distracting. Slam! She was knocked to the floor again. This time Buffy sat heavily on her laughing.
"Faith, when's the last time you've sparred?"
The brunette laid on floor grinning up at her fellow slayer. She could feel Buffy's warmth through the tiny pair of shorts. The little blonde was straddling her stomach, and the sensation was so damn delicious. "Huh?... What?"
"Ugh! Faith, if you're not gonna even try..." The small slayer got up and pulled Faith to her feet. "Sit over there. I still need to workout."
Faith went over to the edge of the mat and stretched while Buffy used the punching bag. She was stealing glances at the tiny blonde. The thin sheen of sweat covering Buffy was making Faith's heart race.
Buffy worked out on the bag while she berated the younger slayer. "Listen Faith.. *punch* I know you're out of.. *kick* shape but... *punch* I expect... *spinning kick* you to work extra hard... *double punch* I need you ready... *kick* to fight." She swung a few more times at the bag before turning to look at Faith. The dark slayer sat gazing at her.
Buffy frowned and shook her head. She began peeling the tape off of her hands as she strolled over. "Faith, what's wrong with you? You never would let someone kick your butt like that. Are you really that rusty?"
The pretty brunette nodded as she continued to stare stupidly, mesmerized. Sweaty, panting Buffy was just too much for the younger girl. She was spellbound. Faith couldn't remember the little slayer ever looking so beautiful or so sexy, and she especially liked Buffy's new cute haircut.
"Faith! Are you even listening to me?!" The older slayer's tone was one of exasperation. "FAITH!"
The brunette quickly got to her feet. "Uh... yeah. Sorry B. Um... you wanna try again?"
"No. No, that's enough for today. Go wait in the car."
"Your sister so busted me zoning out today. Has she said anything to you, Dawn? Does she know?" Faith grabbed another slice of pizza as Dawn reached over and changed the channel.
"Nah. It's okay, Faith. She doesn't know anything. She's pretty dense." The two of them had their feet up, munching pizza, and watching tv down in Faith's room. Everyone's favorite hang out was now the basement. Or at least the cool people's favorite hangout as Dawn had put it.
"Are you guys down there?"
"Yeah, Spike come on down." Dawn called out, excited that Spike had come over. Faith rolled her eyes but moved over on the sofa to make room for him.
"What are you two doing, nibblet? And were's big sis?"
"At work. We're just watching tv, right Faith?" Dawn smiled at her new idols, Faith and Spike.
"William the bloody, what do we owe the pleasure to?" The dark slayer sniped, a tad irritable. Just knowing Buffy had kissed him made her blood boil.
"Looking for my lighter, and here to say hi to nibblet... and you."
"Really?" Faith arched an eyebrow and glanced over at Dawn who giggled. "Tell you what, since you seem to have a lot of spare time, and I do at the moment too. Maybe, you'd like to train. I'm out of shape and B's givin' me hell because of it."
Spike laughed. "Yeah, I know how goldilocks can be. Ridin' ya pretty hard, is she? That sounds like the slayer. Erh... um... I mean Buffy."
"No. It's okay. I'm use to her being "the slayer". It doesn't bother me anymore." Faith shrugged and got up. "Are you coming with half pint? We're gonna go to Spike's crypt." She turned and looked at the platinum blonde vamp. "Is that alright?"
"Yeah, sure. Let's go."
The three of them headed out. Faith ducked her head into the living room. "Red, I'm going to workout at Spike's and Dawn's coming with."
"Uh-huh." Willow was on the phone. She waved to group without really hearing Faith.
Buffy walked in, exhausted from work at the Doublemeat Palace. "Hey you guys, I'm home."
"Hey Buffy." Tara smiled as she came in the kitchen to get a drink.
"Where's Dawn and Faith?"
Buffy picked up the mail glancing through it. "I was going to take them out to dinner. Oh, you and Willow are welcome to come with." She reached over and opened the basement door. "Dawnie, Faith come on up. We're going to dinner."
Tara looked nervously to Willow who had just walked in. "Hon', she's looking for Dawn and Faith. Are you going to tell her?"
"Uh... yeah." The red head peered over at Buffy.
"What?" The little slayer frowned.
"Buffy, they're not here."
"Not Here?! It's a school night for Dawn. And I don't want Faith just going out; she might get in trouble. You know that. So what's going on? Did they sneak out?! I swear I am so going to kick both their butts for this." Buffy rushed over to the counter and picked up her car keys. "Call Xander. We'll need help looking for them."
"Buffy, wait. I know where they're at. I kinda told them that they could go."
"Well, where are they?!" The little blonde was trying hard to control her temper.
"Um... Now try not to explode, Buffy." Willow paled slightly.
"WHERE ARE THEY?!"
"They went to Spike's." Willow cringed as she said it.
"WHAT!!!!!" Buffy stormed out, cursing. "Wil, I don't know what you're thinking. I don't want either of them going there. Spike's crypt is off limits."
The two witches trailed after her. "Buffy, calm down."
"Do not tell me to calm down! I'm trying to get two very difficult girls to behave and what do you guys do... YOU LET THEM LEAVE WITH AN EVIL UNDEAD THING!" Buffy raged as they made their way to the cemetery.
"Faith, a right hook. Throw a right hook." Dawn cheered her on.
"What peanut?" Faith asked just as the crypt door opened, she turned and Spike caught her across the jaw.
"Aww shit! Slayer, don't you knock?!"
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?" Buffy rushed over and caught Faith. "Dawn get your little butt over here we're going home."
"Wait! Is Faith alright?" Dawn rushed over to her sister who was lifting the unconscious slayer.
"Yes, she'll be fine! NOW GO WITH WILLOW AND TARA! I want to talk with Spike."
"Geez, Buffy! Have a cow why don't you!"
"C'mon Dawnie." Willow gently ushered the teenager out.
Buffy turned her wrath on the blonde vampire. "Spike, I want you to stay away! You're not a good influence. Do you understand me?! STAY AWAY FROM FAITH!"
"I believe your slayer there is an adult. She can make her own choices."
"She's barely an adult." Buffy adjusted the brunette in arms. "And she doesn't have what I'd call a good record as far as choices go. I don't want you hanging around Faith!"
"What's the matter are you jealous?" He smirked at the tiny slayer's rage.
"Damn you, Spike! What is it with you and slayers anyway?! Look I'm warning you, I better never find them in your crypt again or I'll stake you myself!" Buffy shouted as she strode out carrying Faith.
"Yeah, yeah slayer... Sing me another one, why don't ya?!" Spike snorted as the little slayer slammed the door.
As soon as they got in the house Dawn was ordered up to her room, while Buffy carried Faith down to the basement. Tara followed with some ice and the glass of water that the little slayer requested.
"Are you sure she's okay, Buffy?"
"She's fine. Faith's always had a glass jaw. It's easy to knock this girl out if you hit her just right. I know the spot; Spike just got lucky." Buffy leaned over Faith. "Watch." She gently pressed on Faith's neck just behind her ear, and the brunette's eyes popped open.
"Huh? What happened?"
"That's amazing." Tara smiled down at Buffy.
"See. You just have to know the right spots on Faith." She shrugged and sat the younger slayer up. "Here. Drink."
"Thanks." Faith shook her head, then sipped the water slowly. "What happened, B?"
"You got your clock cleaned. That's what happened. What were you doing at Spike's anyway? And sparring with him no less?! You're not ready for that. You could have gotten hurt."
"Whatever! Lucky punch!" Faith was embarrassed. He had actually knocked her out cold and in front of everyone. *Dammit!*
"That may be, but I kicked your butt this morning. You're not in slayer shape yet. What were you thinking?" She chastised her as she placed the ice to the younger girl's cheek.
"B, that's why. I was going to try and get in extra training with Spike. So that I wouldn't take so long getting up to speed. That's all. I swear." Faith looked to Tara for support. "An' I didn't even smoke... even though I was dying for a cigarette. You can ask Dawn."
"Shhh... Fine. Lay back down." Buffy gently stroked Faith's hair. "Now listen. I don't want you and Dawn hanging around Spike. Do you understand me?"
"Why? What do you mean?! He's good enough for you to kiss!" Faith growled jealously.
"I'm not going to discuss this." She frowned and got up. "I've laid down the rules and you're going to obey them. Oh and by the way, you can consider yourself grounded. Both you and Dawn aren't to leave this house without permission from me. You got it?!"
"What?! Are you insane! I'm eighteen!" Faith shouted indignant. "This is ridiculous, B!"
"No, what's ridiculous is that you're arguing with me! It's my way or the highway, Faith. You decide." Buffy walked up the stairs, ready to go deal with Dawn.
Faith stood in the training room waiting for Buffy. She was still pissed at the whole being grounded thing. It was pretty humiliating to be grounded along with Buffy's kid sister. And besides they hadn't done anything wrong. *Frickin' Buffy! Letting this whole in charge thing go to her head! Screw her!*
Faith stopped mid thought when Buffy entered wearing her work-out clothes and a big smile. Her heart did a flip flop and all her anger was forgotten. She smiled back at the little blonde. "Hi B. Ya ready?"
"The question is are YOU ready, Faithy. Now I want you to concentrate on keeping your left side guarded better. You keep dropping your arm. Got it?"
Faith nodded and held her hands higher as Buffy jabbed at her. "That a girl. Try mixing it up better. You need to kick more, but lead with your right."
Faith's eyes dropped to Buffy's chest which was soon heaving with every breath. Bam! She took a hit to the face.
"Faith, you dropped your arm again. Sweetie, what do I have to do? Knock you out everyday?! LIFT YOUR GUARD!" Buffy frowned and followed Faith's eyes. *What?! Is she looking at my chest?!*
Bam! Faith jabbed Buffy good. "Now who's dropping their guard!" The brunette sang out gleefully. "See B, I still got it."
Buffy stumbled back a little, but laughed. "Okay. Try some kicks now."
They circled a few times before Faith made a move. Buffy easily countered it and grabbed the brunette's leg, throwing her onto her back. She then jumped on top, out of breath, and panting. "Okay, Faithy. Now you know what you did wrong there, don't you?"
Faith lay still, focusing on Buffy's body pressed to hers. Every inch where their skin touched was on fire. She could hardly breath; it was ecstasy. *Fuck!* She closed her eyes and then reopened them. Buffy was right above her face, leaning close. If she lifted her head a little, their lips would touch. *Holy shit!*
"Faith, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Buffy looked closely into the younger slayer's eyes. What she saw shocked her. Desire, pure and simple, and intense! Amazingly intense! Buffy's heart sped up. She felt a rush of heat between her legs and a tingling that left her aching. *Oh god!* She looked back into Faith's dark eyes and then at her full, soft lips.... so delicious! And they were so close. She could just...
"Buffy! Hey Buffy! Faith! Are you guys back here?" Dawn could be heard coming to the door.
Buffy leapt off the younger slayer. And brushed herself off, trying to catch her breath. "Yeah, Dawn. Back here!"
"Hey guys, are we going for ribs tonight?" Dawn didn't like ribs, but she knew Faith did. She smiled at the younger slayer. "Hey Faith."
"Hey yourself, Peanut." The brunette awkwardly got to her feet and walked over to her new best friend. She was still a bit shaky. "Um... how was school?"
"You know. There." Dawn shrugged, watching curiously as Buffy quickly left the room. "What going on?" She whispered to the dark slayer.
"I don't know. I think..." Faith stopped when the little blonde walked in. Tara and Willow were behind her.
"Hi Faith."
"Hey Red. Tara." Faith glanced at her fellow slayer nervously.
"Dawn go get your books. We're ready to go." Buffy turned and finally looked at Faith, strangely. "That's enough for today, Faith. Get your stuff."
The little blonde strode out still puzzling to herself. *Oh my god! I almost kissed her! I wanted to kiss her! Damn, how I wanted to kiss her! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME! UGH! She's practically Dawn's age!!! BUFFY, YOU SICK PERV!*
PART 10 - Ribs And A Slayer Sandwich
The hostess took them to their table. "This is the only booth we have open. If you all want to squish in or you can wait. It'll be another half hour though."
"No way. I'm starved." Faith complained causing Dawn to giggle.
"God, Faith you're always hungry."
"Watch it. You do okay yourself there, Half-pint." Faith nudged her.
"Ugh! Stop calling me Half-pint. I'm taller than Buffy."
"Everyone is taller than B." They both laughed even the two witches chuckled. Buffy scowled then turned to the hostess.
"This table is fine. Thank you." The little slayer turned toward the teenagers. "Faith, you in first." Buffy waited until Faith sat then scooted in. Dawn rolled her eyes and sat down.
The two witches snickered as they slid in on the other side. Buffy responded, "Have to keep them separate or they'll drive us crazy during dinner."
"I don't know, I can still hear Dawn. Hey Dawn, can you hear me?" Faith peeked around Buffy causing the younger brunette to laugh and egg her on.
"Yup, can hear you too. But we can always talk louder if we have to." She giggled some more.
"Alright you two. That's enough. Look at your menus." The little blonde handed each of them a menu, giving them a stern look.
Willow and Tara exchanged a glance, trying not to laugh. It was just too funny watching Buffy play parent, especially since Dawn and Faith had formed some kind of bond and were just hell bent on driving Buffy insane. Willow finally giggled.
Buffy looked up. "What?"
"Um... nothing. Just deciding what to eat." Willow cleared her throat before shooting Tara a smile behind the menu.
"Hey squirt, whatcha havin'?" Faith called out to Dawn.
"Don't know. Are you having the ribs?"
"Nah.. too messy."
"SO?!"
"Okay, I'll get ribs if you do... then we can both be pigs together." Faith peeked around Buffy and winked.
"Deal." Dawn put her menu down as they both laughed.
Faith watched Buffy studying her menu; she gestured to Dawn. The little brunette nodded and then they both scooted in squishing Buffy between them and breaking out into a fit of giggles.
The tiny slayer was caught off guard and had the air knocked from her. "Oomph!" She shoved Dawn over angrily. "That's enough you two! Cut it out!"
Willow and Tara burst into laughter at Buffy's exasperated expression. It was just too cute.
"You guys, aren't helping any!" The little blonde looked at the two witches accusingly.
"Oh... god... We're... we're sorry." Tara got the words out in between giggles, glancing over at Willow as the two of them starting laughing some more.
Buffy's eyes narrowed. "Everyone better be ready to order when the waitress comes."
They all settled down slowly. Faith noticed that Buffy was still pressed up against her, and became silent. She was having trouble breathing normal as she focused on the intoxicating sensation. *Buffy Summers pressed against me... mmmm... her arm touching mine... her thigh pressed against mine... oh wow... yummy Buffy... mmm...*
"Faith, did you hear me?!"
"Huh? What?"
"Your turn to order." Buffy appeared slightly annoyed.
"Oh." Faith blushed crimson as she muttered. "Um... I'll have the rib thing... I guess, rib platter combo... thanks." She handed the waitress the menu. "And a Jack and Coke."
Buffy arched an eyebrow. "She'll have a coke, thank you." Dawn giggled and Faith scowled at Buffy.
As the waitress walked away, Faith complained. "Way to go, B. She would have got it for me; I can tell... until you went and spoiled it that is."
"Faith, you're under age and if you think I'm just going to sit here and let you drink, you've got another thing coming, missy." Buffy snapped her. "Now quiet down."
Faith crossed her arms and sat back glaring. Willow had to stifle her smirk; she didn't want to make things worse. It was obvious Faith's pride had been injured in front of everyone, and Willow recognized that as one of the younger slayer's worse punishments. Suddenly torturing Faith, wasn't as foremost on her mind as previously. The red headed witch cleared her throat and tried to change the subject.
"Um... yeah, so Tara picked up the information from the college. Faith can take the test in two weeks, and sign up next semester." Willow suddenly realized she brought up the wrong thing when the younger slayer's face darkened. *Oops... Ooh...* Willow gave her an apologetic look as Buffy jumped on it.
"Good. Faith, you're going to start studying for the test during all your free time. Tara and Willow can help you in between classes and I'll quiz you during my time off. This is great, we'll have her signed up for next semester." Buffy spoke matter-of-factly turning to the two witches.
"Yeah... great..." Faith turned away from the tiny slayer. "Who even said I wanted to go to school?!" She griped.
"Not now, Faith. We'll discuss this later." Buffy suddenly wanted to strangle her.
"Hey Faith," Dawn decided to change the subject since the mood of the dinner seemed to be going downhill. "Um... Janice has to come over tomorrow to help me on a project. Is it cool if we hang out in your room while you're at training?"
"Yeah, Peanut. Anytime." Faith still sounded sullen so Dawn tried again.
"Faith, you wanna race to see who can eat all their ribs first."
Faith laughed. "You know that's not even a contest, Squirt. I can eat you under the table anytime." They were both laughing now. Willow and Tara smiled at them.
"You wanna bet?!" Dawn challenged her, still snickering.
Buffy gave an exaggerated sigh and announced, "There will be no betting on the eating of ribs. Now sit back, Dawn; the food's here."
"Spoil sport." Dawn made a face at her sister, but sat back so the waitress could put the plates down.
At least the mood was lightened as they dug into their ribs. Faith munched happily, noticing that every now and then Buffy reached across her for something. The contact was electrifying. She had to stifle a groan when Buffy's arm accidentally brushed against her breast. Her nipples instantly stiffened. Faith could feel her face burning and wondered if Buffy noticed how hard her nipples just got.
The little blonde glanced down. She could see Faith's chest straining against the thin tank top. Her nipples were perfectly visible and sticking out. She had felt the younger slayer's nipple hardened when she brushed up against her. Buffy peered at Faith. The brunette closed her eyes for a moment then took a deep breath as she reached for her coke.
*Oh my god, she likes it.* Buffy pressed her thigh up against the younger girl's. She felt Faith tremble slightly. It struck her as incredibly erotic. Buffy felt herself become flushed.
"So Buffy, are you going to?"
"I'm sorry. What was that Wil?" The little slayer was caught distracted.
"Are you going to call Giles and invite him to town for his birthday? Maybe we can convince him to move back." Tara tilted her head indicating for Faith.
"Oh yeah. Uh-huh, I'll call him tonight." Buffy nodded, stealing a glance at Faith. The brunette had just tossed her last rib bone to the plate.
"Ta-Da! I win, Short-stuff!" Faith declared shoving her bone ridden plate forward so Dawn could see.
"No fair. You got special eating powers. I've seen Buffy scarf down her food before too; it must be a slayer thing!"
"Hey!" Buffy turned to her little sister, offended. "Enough speculation, on the habits of slayers. Finish your dinner. We still have to get you home in time to do your homework."
Faith laughed. "Ha!Ha!"
"What are you laughing for? You'll be doing homework soon enough too!" Dawn teased.
"Heck no! Not if I can help it!" The younger slayer shot back.
"Girls." Tara tried to interfere before Buffy lost her temper.
"Faith, you have sauce all over your face. Look at me." Buffy dipped her napkin into her water and then leaned in to wipe the dark slayer's face.
Faith could feel Buffy's hand resting on her leg. Her fingertips lightly grazing the inside of Faith's upper thigh. The younger slayer swallowed hard and closed her eyes as she blushed. "Geez! Are ya done, B?" She glanced at the others to see if they noticed anything odd. But no one seemed to be paying attention. "Please B. This is embarrassing."
"Stop being a baby and hold still." Buffy's hand pressed more firmly on Faith's thigh as she leaned closer. "How'd you get sauce on your neck? Tilt your head back."
Faith could feel Buffy strumming her fingers. It was tickling the inside of her thighs. *Holy shit... what's she doing?!* The brunette struggled to sit still. She knew her panties were now soaked.
"Are you guys ready to leave?" They looked over as Tara and Willow started to get up.
*Ugh! What am I doing?!* Buffy pulled her hand back quickly. "Yep. We're ready. Right, Faith?"
"Uh-huh." The brunette's voice cracked slightly.
