PART 1 - First Dream

"B, did ya miss me?" Faith grinned as the little blonde crossed the park frowning.

"I told you not to come back, Faith."

"I haven't. This is just a dream." The sexy slayer circled her, smiling. "I'm still a vegetable in the hospital. Just thought I'd come by and check on the little college girl. So how are you doin', B? Are you lonely?"

Buffy shrugged and stepped away. "Who's dream is this?"

"Well, I'd guess it was yours. But you invited me." Faith gave another devilish grin, her dimples showing as she poked Buffy. "Give us a kiss."

Buffy tried to back up, but the younger girl had grabbed the front of her blouse and pulled her close. Lowering her lips slowly, Faith whispered. "I've always wanted you, B."

Buffy awoke with a start. "Omigod!" She wiped at the sweat, running down her face as she attempted to catch her breath. *That was some dream! Felt so real!* The little slayer peered around her room. Willow still slept soundly. She pushed the blanket from her overheated body and felt between her legs.

Groaning, the slayer gently rubbed her pussy. She was soaked. A quick release wouldn't be a bad. Casting one last glance in the red head's direction, Buffy stroked herself, pinching her clit lightly with each pass over it. *Oh yes… mmmm… feels good…* She recalled her dream and imagined Faith lips sucking her clit. *Oh fuck!*

Turning her head, Buffy buried her face against her pillow stifling her moans. She was so close she was throbbing. *Just a little more… oh yesss… uhnn… there it is…omigod… mmmm… ahhhh…*

The pretty slayer fell back in her bed, smirking as her cum ran over her fingers and down the inside of her thighs. She gazed at Willow. *What would Wil think if she caught me?* A smile played across her perfect features as she moved her hand away and covered herself with the sheet.

All this because of a weird Faithy dream. Buffy thought nervously for a moment. *What does that mean? Am I gay now? And why dream about Faith?! Argh!* Willow's alarm made the slayer jump. She quickly pulled up her pajama bottoms and warmly greeted her sleepy roommate. "Hey Wils, how'd you sleep?"

Willow happily climbed from her bed. "Great. And you?"

PART 2 - Distracted

"Buffy, are you alright? You seem kind of spacey."

"Huh?" The little blonde stumbled with her tray, dropping it unceremoniously on the table. "No, I'm good. Just a little distracted." Buffy smiled wanly at Willow as she sat down next to the witch. "I still need to do the reading for Professor Walsh's class."

"You'll have all afternoon undisturbed. I have a wiccan meeting with Tara so the room's all yours." The red head chirped, reaching across the slayer's tray. "Are you going to eat this?" Willow grabbed Buffy's apple and took a bite.

The little slayer shook her head, smirking. "Not anymore, Wil. Help yourself."

*****

Sitting at her desk, Buffy strained to keep her eyes open long enough to finish the chapter. *Maybe a short nap would help.* Lifting her wrist, the slayer checked her watch. *I have some time.*

Something outside the window caught her eye, she jumped to her feet and raced out the dorm doors. Across the quad she saw the flicker again. The slayer dashed to the fence and peered over. There stood Faith grinning.

"Hey babe, looking for me?"

"Faith!" Buffy hopped the fence and roughly grabbed the brunette shoving her to the ground. "Why are you here?!"

"Because you want me to be, and it's not like I have anywhere else to go. So here I am, B… your willing sex slave." The younger slayer tiltled her head to the side and gave Buffy one of her patented smiles along with a wink.

"No! I most certainly do not want you here! Now leave!" Buffy pointed in the direction of the hospital. "Go back!"

Faith lowered her head sadly and started to walk away.

"Wait. Tell me first." Buffy gently touched her arm. "How do you do it? I mean, are you really here?"

"Don't know." The beautiful brunette gave her a long soulful look, her dark eyes sparkling. "I'm in a coma so I can't tell. I'd have to wake up to know. For all I know this could just be my own dream." She paused. "But then again, if it were my dream you'd be sticking a knife in my gut."

Buffy flinched and backed away. "Sorry."

"Yeah. So am I." Faith said wistfully, before turning to go.

"No… don't leave yet. Since you're here. We can talk." Buffy patted the grass, indicating Faith should sit.

The younger girl shrugged but took a seat. "Okay, what do you want to talk about?"

"Us."

A sly grin flitted across Faith's features. "Us?"

The little blonde could feel her breath hitch. Why did it seem like Faith could see what she was thinking? What was she thinking?! Buffy froze as the sexy slayer leaned closer.

"Okay, let's talk about us." She whispered the words before capturing Buffy's lips with her own.

*Oh god!* Buffy felt as if she was falling. A kiss wasn't supposed to be like this… was it? Her head spun as the kiss deepened. *Oh my god, yes!* The ground came up to meet her. *No, wait!*

Buffy was laying down already. *Mmmm.. soft… soft, warm lips on mine… mmmm… Faith's lips… oh god… I shouldn't…*

"Buffy? Buffy?! Are you okay?"

"Huh?!" The little blonde jumped, hitting her knee on her desk. "Omigod Willow! Sorry… I… uh…" Dumbfounded, the petite slayer wiped at her mouth. She was dreaming again, but this time she could have sworn she felt Faith's lips. *Oh and they felt soooo good.*

The red head set her book bag down and walked over to her best friend, checking her forehead. "Just making sure." Willow explained. "You looked a bit feverish."

"No. I'm okay now." Buffy quickly got to her feet and headed for the door. "I just need some air."

Willow watched her leave, a bit worried. Buffy hadn't been herself. She'd have to go see Giles and get his opinion. A distracted slayer was never a good thing.

PART 3 - Hypothetically Speaking

"Giles, what would you say if I told you that I had a dream with Faith in it?" Buffy asked nervously, sitting across from her watcher.

"Well that depends. Have you?" Giles turned to his slayer, concern settling on his features.

"No, not exactly. I'm just wondering… hypothetically." Buffy looked away, uncomfortable with her lie.

"I guess it would depend on the nature of the dream. Did Faith warn you of anything… or were you fighting?" He studied his slayer carefully.

"Neither. We… we just talked." Buffy glanced at him waiting for a reaction, but Giles remained amazingly composed.

"Well then I'd say you're worrying over nothing. These dreams are probably the result of some unresolved tensions between you and Faith." Her watcher sought to reassure her.

"NO! There's no unresolved tensions." Buffy protested just a bit too strongly.

Giles' eyebrows shot up as he watched her pace. "Buffy, I wouldn't let it upset you. Next time you have one of these dreams, try and relax. Let it happen, and the meaning will come to you."

"Easy for you to say." The slayer muttered under her breath as she stormed out of the townhouse.

*****

"Was Giles able to help out?" Willow asked good-naturedly.

"I don't know. I guess I'll find out tonight." Buffy continued to pace. "Willow, you really don't mind staying at Tara's tonight, do you?"

"Nope. Not in the least. You can have your nightmare thingie all in private." The red head smiled as she stuffed clothes into her backpack.

"It's just that I don't want to keep you awake… and because I can't have anyone wake me. Giles said I have to muddle through it to understand the meaning. That means no waking the slayer." Buffy sat down on her bed with a sigh. "I appreciate this Wil. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this tonight and then have nice normal sleep again." She rolled her eyes. "Or what passes as normal sleep for me."

"That's fine Buffy. I'll see you in the morning." Willow gave her best friend a hug, getting up when she heard the knock at the door. "Bye."

The pretty blonde waved to Tara as Willow slipped out and left with the other witch.

"Okay Faith, let's get this over with." The slayer closed her eyes and laid back in the bed, waiting for sleep to overtake her.

"Hey B, guess Red's got a new friend." The brunette smirked, gesturing toward the door.

Buffy bolted upright. "How'd you do that?! I'm not asleep yet!"

"Aren't you?" Faith grinned as she sat on the bed next to Buffy. "I'm here." Before the little slayer could respond, Faith had pushed her back on the bed and straddled her waist. She leaned close. "Ready?"

PART 4 - The Fair

"Yes, tell me what this is about." Buffy's eyes widened as Faith brought her lips within inches of her own.

"I'll do better than that… I'll show you."

Once again Buffy was caught off guard as Faith kissed her soft and slow. *Mmmmm… wow.* The little slayer opened her eyes and gazed into Faith's dark ones. "Faith?"

"Yes, B?"

"Why are you kissing me?" Buffy really wanted to understand. The question was innocent enough. Faith paused and smiled.

"Because I want to. Why else?"

"You never tried to before." The pretty blonde was set on pressing the issue.

"Too scared to." Faith looked away, getting up slightly.

"And now?"

"I have nothing to lose. Hell, I'm not even conscious. What could happen?" Faith peered back over at the green-eyed beauty. "Besides, you brought me here."

"You keep saying that, but I don't know what you mean." Buffy sat up, trying to make eye contact with the younger slayer. "Faith, please tell me."

"I don't know exactly. It's a spell, B. Something that allows me momentary mobility… through you. But it's your mind that's bringing me here so you're going to have to figure it out." Faith stood and gazed out the window. "You wanna go outside? I never get to go outside."

"Yeah, sure." Buffy took Faith's hand and led her out. "I'm glad you're here." She smiled gently at the brunette.

"You are?" Faith's surprise was evident.

"Yes. This is nice. We could go do something. We have all night." The little blonde smiled prettily at her companion.

Faith's face lit up. "Okay! Let's go to the Fair. C'mon."

"Faith, there isn't a Fair." But before Buffy could finish her assertion, she heard the carnival music. "What the heck?!" The slayer turned, shocked to see a Fair set up in the parking lot and over much of the campus. "Wait a minute!" She glanced back at Faith who was grinning.

"Duh! B, this is our dream. So if I want a Fair, there's a Fair."

Buffy laughed as Faith tugged her along. "I don't have any money."

"Once again B, who needs money?!" The brunette chuckled as they reached the booths. "Want me to win ya something?"

Buffy beamed as she gazed across at the prizes. "Mr. Gordo could use a friend. See that little stuffed pig, win him." She shrieked pointing to an overstuffed beige pig with a crooked snout.

"You got it." Faith picked up a baseball and wound up her arm. Bam! She nailed the milk bottles on the first try. The carnie moved back to set them up again.

"I see you've done this before, little lady." His tone was clipped with annoyance.

"Somethin' like that. Just set `em up. I'm gonna win that pig for my girl." Faith grinned at the blonde by her side. Buffy was blushing but holding onto Faith's belt.

The small slayer liked the idea that she was Faith's girl. "C'mon Faithy, you can hit it again."

The brunette made a show of winding up her arm again before quickly stealing a kiss from Buffy. "For luck." She explained throwing the ball and plowing down all the bottles easily.

"One more miss and you get the giant panda or you can stop now and take the pig." The carnie secretly hoped the girl would stop.

"What do you want, B?"

"The pig! The pig!" Buffy squealed with delight as the overstuffed creature was handed to her.

"Let's go on the ferris wheel." Faith grabbed her hand and dragged her along. She saw Buffy peer longingly at the cotton candy and stopped. "Cotton candy, kid."

The little blonde brightened as Faith handed her the treat. "Thank you, Faithy."

"Sure. Now come on. The ferris wheel then the haunted house." Buffy giggled while Faith fastened the safety belt for her. "Don't want you falling out. Who knows what happens when you bite the dust in a dream."

"If it's a dream can't we fly?" The small slayer reasoned, nibbling her cotton candy.

"Okay. Fly." Faith laughed as Buffy crinkled her nose and frowned.

"I don't know how."

"Neither do I. So I guess the answer's no, for now." Faith brushed a blonde lock from Buffy's face, smiling warmly at her. "You know, I really did miss you B."

Her heart fluttered as she gazed into Faith's dark eyes. "I… I missed you too."

Faith's smile faded. She leaned in and kissed Buffy tenderly. When she moved back the little slayer was swaying. Faith reached and caught her. "Easy there."

They both looked out and realized the ferris wheel had stopped. They were at the top. "Wow." Buffy peered out at the view. "Look how pretty."

"Uh-huh." Faith mumbled, pulling her close. Her lips trailed over Buffy's ear. "B, I want you."

Buffy groaned as a tingling sensation passed through her. She felt light headed and strange. "Faith, I… um… maybe, we could take it slower." She nervously peeked up at the brunette. Faith was wearing one of her sexy smiles. The kind of smile that made Buffy's stomach jump. "Uhhh…"

She felt dazed as the sultry slayer whispered. "I can wait."

The ferris wheel started again and before Buffy could speak, Faith yanked her from the ride. "Let's do bumper cars, c'mon."

And so the night went, one ride after another. Buffy spent most of the time laughing at Faith's corny jokes and the rest wondering how this was happening.

Finally Faith just stopped. Buffy gave her a questioning look but before she could ask Faith said. "Time to go. It's almost morning." She pointed at the lightening sky.

Buffy glanced up. "Okay. Will I see you tomorrow?"

"If you want to. B, don't forget your pig." Faith started to hand the stuffed animal to her.

"No, you keep him at the hospital with you… to keep you company." Buffy leaned forward and gave her a peck on the cheek. "So we're going to do this friendship thing for real this time, right?"

Faith suddenly had a naughty grin. "Yeah, something like that. Goodnight."

Buffy turned to look at the dorms. "I guess I should go in now." When she glanced back, Faith was gone.

Buffy awoke with a start. She sat up and looked around.

Still bathed in darkness her room had a slight chill. Walking over to the window, she peered out. *No ferris wheel… just a dream.*

She shook her head and climbed back under the blanket but was unable to fall back asleep. Too many thoughts of Faith and what she had said were intruding in her brain. *What did Faith mean… momentary mobility through me? At least she told me that it's a spell.* Buffy sighed, pulling the pillow over her head.

PART 5 - Checking Faith

"Faith said it was a spell. That's why she's appearing in my dreams." Buffy informed her watcher as the Scooby gang lounged on his sofas eating the leftover Halloween candy.

"Did she tell you the nature of the spell?" Giles removed his glasses, watching his slayer carefully as he cleaned them.

"No… Sort of… It didn't make much sense. She said it was something to do with me. That she was there because I wanted her to be." Buffy replied, shaking her head.

"Very interesting." Replacing his spectacles on his nose, the watcher quickly got up and pulled a book from his shelves.

"Giles, do you know what this is about?" Willow asked as she fought with Xander for the last Butterfinger candy bar. "Hey!"

Giles gave the teens a withering look, before responding. "I may. I need some time to research this. Buffy, may I suggest you sleep at Riley's until we sort this out."

"I'd rather not." Buffy turned away embarrassed.

"But I need some time to research this, and I think it would be best if you're not alone."

"Giles, it's just that… that I haven't even told Riley about Faith, and I'm not sure if… I may be talking in my sleep. Look I don't need protection. Faith isn't trying to hurt me. Besides Willow's there." Buffy turned toward her friend.

"You're darn tootin'." The little witch nodded her head. "Buffy, doesn't have to worry. Tara and I can do a protection spell so no one can get in while she's sleeping."

Giles gave an exasperated look, before closing his book. "Fine. You do that. Meanwhile, Buffy and I will go to the hospital to check on Faith's status."

*****

"Are you sure?" Giles stood out in the hall questioning one of the nurses while Buffy gazed at the unconscious slayer. Faith looked so pale and helpless.

"Faith, I don't know if you can hear me, but I wish you'd wake up. I think we could work all of this out." Buffy smiled, gently caressing Faith's cheek.

"Buffy, are you ready to go?" Her watcher stood in the doorway.

"Yes." The little slayer followed him out. "What did they say?"

"Other than the fact that there has been no change in her condition, nothing. She's had no visitors and has displayed no signs indicating higher cognitive brain functions." Buffy made a face so Giles elaborated. "Her brain wave patterns have not changed a bit. Buffy, if she was having lucid dreams there were be a marked change in her brain waves. There isn't."

"What does that mean?" The green-eyed beauty stopped and gawked at him. "Giles, in English please."

"It means that you probably are the only one experiencing this. So we can rule out slayer dreams." He held the door for her as they exited the hospital.

"But she was there. I know she was." Buffy frowned as her watcher shrugged. "More research?"

"Yes, more research. And make sure Willow stays in tonight. Faith isn't controlling her actions in your dreams and until we know who is, I don't want you alone." Giles insisted as Buffy headed toward the college campus. "And make sure they do that protection spell." He called after his slayer, watching her retreating form worriedly.

*****

"Wil, are you guys almost done?" Buffy sat back on her bed watching as the two witches sprinkled some purple powder in front of the door and windows.

"Yes. Just one more incantation." Tara glanced back at the fidgety slayer. "Buffy, who does Giles think cast this spell?"

"He doesn't know so until then, we're to assume it's a baddie." The little blonde sat back opening her Psych book. "I have two chapters to read. This should totally put me to sleep."

Willow chuckled as she glanced back over at her best friend. "You don't mind if Tara stays over, do you? Then we can both slayer sit."

Buffy scowled and threw a pillow. "I don't need a babysitter, but no, I don't mind… As long as Tara makes some of her yummy microwave popcorn." She smiled at the blonde witch who immediately stood up.

"Sure, I just have to go to my room and get it. I'll be right back." Tara winked at Willow and slipped out.

"Well you two seem to be getting along pretty good." Buffy smirked at her best friend as the little witch blushed.

"Yes, she's great and really good with the magicks."

"Good. I'm glad you're happy." The slayer stretched out with her book and highlighter. "Now to just finish this stupid assignment."

Willow stood watching her.

"What?" Buffy peered up at the red head.

"How are things with you and Riley?" Willow took a seat, waiting for an answer.

"They're okay. You know, he's nice and normal. Real even keel… just what I need right now." She smiled wanly before glancing back at the text.

"Yeah, just what you need." Faith sat down next to her, grinning. "Sounds boring to me, B."

"Arghhh! Will you stop doing that?!" The little slayer nearly jumped out of her skin. She glanced back over at Willow who seemed oblivious to Faith's presence.

"She can't see me. This is your dream." The brunette snickered as Buffy sat up in a huff.

"I'm asleep already?!" The older girl asked with an air of disbelief.

"Must be… unless you dream while you're awake." Faith picked up Mr. Gordo. "So this is the pig that needed a friend?"

Buffy frowned. "Faith, how do I know it's really you?"

PART 6 - Waking Elsewhere

"Who do you think I am?" Faith gave her a mischievous grin.

"I don't know. That's the point. But I know you're not really Faith." The little slayer backed away.

"I'm whoever you want me to be. You happen to want Faith… so I'm Faith." The brunette edged closer, setting Mr. Gordo down. "C'mon let's get to it."

"Get to what?" Buffy shoved at her. "Stay away from me."

"B, is that what you really want? Hmm? Think about it. You're little brain went to all this trouble to conjure me up, and now you're just going to send me away?… No, I don't think so."

Buffy's eyes widened with fear. "What are you?!"

"I told you. I'm Faith." The sexy slayer moved closer, reaching out slowly. "C'mon B, we had such a nice date last night. Don't spoil things."

"I said stay back!" Buffy jumped to her feet, glancing over at Willow and Tara, but the two witches seemed oblivious to her plight. They were watching tv and munching popcorn.

"Why whatcha gonna do?!" Faith chuckled as she leapt upon the older slayer, pinning her. "Come on B, give it to me!" Her voice was husky as she leaned close to steal a kiss.

"Faith! No!" Buffy pushed at her. "Stop it!"

"Okay." Faith climbed off. "Whatever." She dusted off her jacket and headed for the door.

"What?! You're just going to leave?" The pretty blonde asked incredulous.

"Yep. Later, B." The dark slayer opened the door and waved. "Have fun with your little slumber party."

"No. Wait!" Buffy hurried over. "I don't want you to go."

"Make up your mind, will ya?! Geez!" Faith shook her head, peering down at Buffy. "Get your jacket. We'll go out again."

Buffy picked up her coat and followed the brunette out. "To where?"

"To the hospital." Faith snorted. "Where else?"

"Why? Wait Faith, I don't get it." The little slayer stopped apprehensive.

"No, but you will. C'mon." Faith grabbed her hand and led her along.

*****

Buffy awoke to a nurse's yelp. "Who are you? What are you doing?"

*Oh crap!* Buffy peered around the room as the nurse ran out. She was nude and so was Faith. The little blonde scrambled from the bed and pulled on her clothes, slipping from the room just as the nurse was returning with security.

PART 7 - Freakish Slayer Fetish

"Buffy, calm down. Just explain what happened." Willow gently led the little blonde inside. For some reason Buffy didn't have her key. She was frantically knocking, standing outside in pajamas and her coat.

When the small slayer came in she immediately burst into tears. Neither of the witches could make sense out of it. How did Buffy leave without them noticing? They must have been asleep which meant she was gone all night.

Offering to get coffee, Tara tactfully left the two best friends alone. Given the opportunity, Buffy immediately crawled into Willow's arms sobbing. "Wil, it was terrible. I woke up in the hospital with Faith."

"What?! Buffy, how did you get there?" The red head sat up, lifting Buffy with her. "Why did you go there?"

"I… I walked… last night. Faith came again… an'.. and she brought me back to the hospital to see her. Only it wasn't really Faith…" Buffy tried to explain in between sniffles. "But I crawled in bed with Faith when we got there… an'… and I took off her hospital gown… and.." The little slayer covered her face.

"Buffy, you had sex with Faith?" Willow's tone was incredulous.

"I don't know. I had sex with Faith in my dream… but when I woke up Faith was really naked… so I must have…" Buffy tapered off, looking away in shame. "I don't know why. We were kissing and it was… it was really good. And then it just sort of happened."

"Faith is conscious?!" Willow's eyes got big. "We have to call Giles." She reached for the phone but Buffy stopped her.

"No. Wil, she was still in her coma."

"Oh." The witch became uncomfortable. "Um… maybe, we should call Giles anyway. This spell… it's making you do crazy things."

Buffy nodded but as Willow dialed she croaked out the request. "Leave out the me waking up naked part, please. He doesn't need to know that."

Willow held up her hand as she listened to Giles instructions. When she hung up the phone, she turned back to Buffy. "Get dressed. We're going over to Giles."

*****

Spike stalked around the crypt, listening to Harmony blather on. He lifted his jacket and shook it. "Have you seen my smokes?"

"No." The blonde glared up at him. "Spikey, I don't see why we have to let this witch friend of yours stay here. It's not fair. I have to put up with all your weirdness. First Dorkess, now this freakish slayer fetish. You're lucky I don't stake you in your sleep."

"Will you just shut up?!" The vampire railed, storming out of his crypt. *Maybe Buffy is out slaying.* A smile passed over his features as he went to find his little goddess.

PART 8 - In Sunnydale County

Willow peeked worriedly over at Buffy. The slayer hadn't said more than two words once they arrived at Giles' townhouse. They had been there all day, and into the evening but had found only a few references to what seemed to be plaguing Buffy. The little slayer was starting to look worn.

Her watcher noticed. "Buffy, maybe you'd like to get a little sleep. Why don't you go into the downstair's bedroom. We'll all be right here, researching."

"Thanks." The pretty little blonde padded off to the room. Actually despite all her recent sleep, she felt exhausted. The moment her head hit the pillow, she was out.

"Hey." Faith sat on the edge of the bed, grinning down at Buffy. "Wanna go again?"

"Faith, I can't." Buffy peered anxiously at the door. "Everyone is out there."

"Tell ya what. I promise to be quiet if you can." The beautiful brunette gave her a playful smile before leaning in to kiss her.

Buffy felt her reservations melt away under Faith's fabulously full lips. "Oh Faith…" She moaned softly, heat radiating through her entire body. *If it's even half as good as last night…* The tiny blonde sighed.

"C'mon B, take off your pants."

The small slayer eagerly complied. Sliding down her jeans and panties as quick as possible, she spread her legs and waited with bated breath.

"That's my girl." Faith whispered huskily, reaching down she gently stroked Buffy's soft and now soaked little pussy. "You liked last night, didn't you?"

Buffy whimpered, nodding her head vigorously. "Yes. Please Faith… again."

The brunette needed no further encouragement as she lowered her face in between Buffy's legs. The sweet smell of the small slayer's arousal was enough to make her mouth water.

*****

"It looks like some sort of love spell. See, here." Giles leaned over Willow as she pointed out what she had found. "This sounds like it. Right here."

"Willow, I don't see how that's possible. Faith is in a coma." The watcher took the book and walked to the sofa, sitting down heavily. "You know what this means, don't you?"

Willow immediately headed toward the bedroom to talk to Buffy. When she got to the door she could hear the little slayer's moans. She froze and listened as Buffy babbled Faith's name over and over again.

*Oh my god!* The witch covered her face with both hands and ran from the townhouse. Tara followed her girlfriend out while Giles looked up a method to break the spell.

*****

Buffy had cum several times already and was now like putty in Faith's hands. She giggled and rolled over, reaching for the brunette. "Faithy, hold me."

The younger slayer smiled, first delicately kissing Buffy's pussy lips then crawling up her body. She was reveling in the sound of the small blonde's satisfied sighs. "What B? What is it?"

"I wanted to tell you something." Buffy's eyes glittered like green emeralds. "I think I'm falling in love with you."

*****

Across town, in Sunnydale County hospital the rogue slayer awoke with a start. She gasped for air, and glanced around confused and frightened. Reaching her I.V. tube, she ripped it from her hand and weakly climbed from the bed.

PART 9 - Don't Let Me Go

"Witch, why hasn't your spell worked yet?" Spike roughly grabbed his houseguest by the throat.

"I don't understand. It should have… Perhaps you're not the slayer's true desire as you so readily believe." The young woman cringed when Spike changed to vamp face and held her close.

"If that ponce shows up from L.A. I'll kill you!" Spike tossed the woman to the floor and stormed out from his crypt. He needed to check on Buffy. If she was aching for Angel he'd come back and kill the witch.

*****

Faith gave Buffy a dazzling smile. "Really?… Wow B, don't know what to say… except that I already know that I love you. Always have. I'm sorry for everything I did. I want to make it right. Tell me how."

The little blonde could feel her heart swell. "Faith, do you mean that?"

"You bet, babe. I swear it on my life. When I wake up, it's you and me… that's all I want." Faith kissed her passionately. In the distance, Buffy could hear pounding. "What the hell?!" The brunette gasped as she began to fade. "B!" She reached for her fellow slayer. "Please don't let me go."

"I promise I won't." Buffy tried to grab her, but Faith was gone. Tears filled the small slayer's eyes. She cried out and the door was forced open.

"Buffy! What is it?!" Giles rushed into the room to find his slayer half awake and crying.

"Why did you wake me up?!" Buffy angrily shoved her watcher away.

"Buffy, you need to come to your senses. Someone has placed a spell on you. That isn't really Faith you are seeing in your dreams. It's your version of Faith." Giles lifted the sobbing slayer wrapping her in the blanket when he noticed her nudity. He ignored his discomfort long enough to explain. "Buffy, I came to tell you something else. But first, it's important you understand that she's not visiting you. It has all been in your mind only. Whatever she's told you, is really just what you wanted to hear."

"No." Buffy sleepily shoved him away. "Why are you saying all this?"

"The hospital called." The watcher paused, waiting until he had his slayer's full attention. "Faith came out of her coma about a half hour ago. They called immediately because she seems to have wandered from the premises."

"What?!" Buffy jumped from the bed, grabbing her clothes. Her watcher cleared his throat as he turned away. "How could that happen?!"

"Apparently, when they noticed the change in her vitals, the nursing station called for her doctors. But when they entered in her room, Faith was already gone." Giles removed his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose wearily. "She couldn't have gotten far in her weakened state. The police will probably pick her up soon."

"Not if I get to her first." Buffy stated, grabbing her jacket and heading out.

"Wait! Buffy, remember what I said." Giles called after the little slayer, but she didn't slow. "Faith wasn't visiting you in your dreams. Whatever understanding you came to was in your mind only. She may still be dangerous."

His warning fell on deaf ears as the blonde broke into a sprint toward the hospital.

*****

The rain soaked through her thin hospital gown causing her to shiver miserably. Faith stumbled into the bushes when she saw the headlights. *Have to hide.* The brunette squatted down until she was sure the threat was gone. Slowly, she stood shaking. Her legs felt too weak to stand, let alone run, and she was starved. Wiping the wet tendrils from her face she pressed on. She had to get to Sunnydale High School.

PART 10 - Are You On Crack?!

Faith gazed in shock at the burnt out school. *Fuck!* She turned to leave but standing right behind her was Buffy. "You bitch!" The brunette took a swing but fell forward. Luckily, Buffy caught her.

"Faith, take it easy." Gently, she lifted the younger girl into her arms.

"No! Put me down!" Faith struggled, objecting vehemently to Buffy's assistance. "Let me alone! What are you trying to do?!"

"Shhhh… C'mon. I'm taking you home." Buffy set her down so she could remove her jacket to wrap around Faith. But the instant the brunette's feet touched the ground she tried again to punch Buffy.

"I'll kill you! I hate you!" Faith tried to pull away as the small slayer caught her hand.

"Stop! Faith, I know you don't hate me. Now calm down. I'm trying to help you." Buffy chastised, wrapping her coat around the taller girl and moving to lift her.

Faith shoved her away. "Yes, I hate you! You took my life, B!" They both glanced toward the burned out high school.

"I know that's not true, Faith. I know you love me. You told me that today." Buffy grabbed her tightly.

"Are you on crack?! Let go of me, you freak!" The dark beauty's fighting was futile. Buffy easily picked her up and started toward Revello Drive.

"Faith, stop squirming. We have to get to my house before the police see you." Turning the corner, she set Faith down. "Promise not to try and run."

"I'm not promising you anything! Have you lost your frickin' mind?! You and me… we hate each other, blondie! I don't know what drugs you're on, but I haven't got time for this." Faith snarled, backing away. "B, I think you may be delusional or something. You better go find your watcher and have that checked out."

Before the brunette could take another step, Buffy pulled her into the bushes. "Be quiet! A car is coming."

They huddled in the bushes and watched as a squad car slowly rolled by shiny its lights and searching.

"Why are you helping me?!" Faith whispered hatefully, nudging the small slayer away. The little blonde seemed all clingy. *How irritating can B get?! Damn!*

"I told you. I think I'm falling in love with you." Buffy smiled, reaching for the younger girl.

"Fuck! Get off of me!" Shrieking, Faith fell back trying to escape Buffy's arms, but the pretty little blonde caught her and pulled her close.

"Faith, don't! We have to get to my house and get you some dry clothes."

Faith eyed her suspiciously. "No. I think I'll go it alone. I won't have you bringing me to your house and calling the watcher's council."

"I'm not going to do that. I believed you when you told me that you wanted to change." Buffy tried to embrace her but Faith pushed away.

"Yeah?! When did I tell you that?!" Her tone was snide as she folded her arms across her chest. "I can't wait to find out. Is that when our love blossomed?!"

Another set of lights came down the street. "We have to go inside!" Buffy grabbed Faith's hand and pulled her along.

"Damn you! I can't run!" The dark slayer screamed angrily as her legs buckled, but Buffy merely spun around and lifted her.

"Be quiet Faith. I'm serious or I will give you to the police." The blonde ran to the back of her house and waited for the headlights to vanish before bringing Faith through the door.

"Ha! So much for your love! You wanna turn me in. I knew it." Faith snickered, despite the glare it earned her.

"Don't wake my mother! I still have to explain everything to her."

"Yeah well, while you're at it, explain this shit to me!" The brunette growled out as Buffy set her on the sofa.
