PART ONE

She had been in this town for two days and she hated it. She had been living with her aunt for two days, and she hated her. She looked around her room in disgust. Sure, it was a step up from her old room, but she still didn't feel comfortable. The small room consisted of merely a bed, a tiny closet, and a bedside table, with a lamp.

At least she actually had a bed. That was a big plus, it had a comforter on it too. She stood gazing out the window, at the streets below. So this was Sunnydale. Standing here in this small apartment, it didn't feel so different from being in Boston, but it was. You see ten minutes away from here, was the good part of town. Yeah, it wasn't a big town, when the ghetto was a short walk away to paradise.

She had checked the town out already. Just across the tracks was a mall, small coffee shops, fancy homes, and her future school Sunnydale High. Over on this side of the tracks was run down apartment buildings like this one, cheap motels, and bars. Funny how she always ended up on the wrong side of the tracks. She couldn't really complain though. At least her aunt Jackie was nice enough to take her in. She had no where else to go. She was only sixteen and the damn child services people, wouldn't let her be on her own. Why not? She had asked them, she had practically raised herself.

You see up until a month ago she lived with her drug addict mother, and her abusive step-father. Her real dad, was someone she never knew, and never wanted too. She doubted her mother even knew his name. She lived her entire life in poverty. Stealing food for a meal, going to school in old hand me down clothes, and fighting to survive.

Everything changed on one fateful night though. She witnessed her mother's murder, and her step-father's suicide. Instead of feeling pain though, she felt relief. It may be wrong to feel that, but she couldn't help it. She remembered falling to her knees in a pool of blood, and just whispering I'm free.

She sighed and walked out of her bedroom. She didn't feel like going into all of that right now. Today would be her first day of school here. She would be starting in the middle of the semester. Great now she would stand out even more. At least she had some new clothes. What little her parents did own, was sold, and the money was split between her and her aunt. It wasn't much, but it got her a couple of outfits. She walked into the living room where her aunt sat in a tattered old recliner, watching the morning news.

Her aunt hated her, and she knew it. If it wasn't for an extra check, she wouldn't of took her in. Jackie wasn't much a woman herself. While she wasn't a crackhead like her mom, she was a recovering alchoholic, who lived off of a welfare check.

"I'm going to school now Aunt Jackie." She said walking past her to the door.

"Yeah, try not to start no shit you hear." The frizzy haired zombie spoke, never taking her eyes off the television screen.

She just bit her lip, grabbed her bookbag and exited. She walked to school, taking her sweet ass time. She was in no hurry to get there. She hated school, and she always got made fun of. So she learned at an early age, how to build up her defenses. When you were the butt of every joke, you couldn't be weak, or your feelings would always be hurt. So instead she acted like a bad ass, getting into fight after fight. That's when she even went to school. She wasn't very book smart, but she had her street smarts.

As she arrived at the school, she just looked around. She wanted to shutter at the view of all the preppies roaming about. She felt totally out of place now. Standing there in dark denim jeans, with a simple black tank top, covered by a matching denim jacket, her black, ass kickin boots on her feet.

She looked down at herself, and shook her head, before continuing up the stairs. She didn't care what other people thought of her, she reminded herself as she walked past a group of kids snickering, and whispering words about her.

She walked through the hallways ignoring the glances, and stares and entered the office. She had to pick up her schedule, and all that other shit. She took a seat as instructed and waited for the principal to call her into his office. A place she should probally go ahead and get used to being. The door opened and a man stepped out, wearing a tweed coat, and glasses.

"Faith Walker?" He asked.

Faith stood up "That's me."

"Please come in." He held the door open and gestured.

She stepped into the office and took a seat across from his desk. She wanted to get this over with quick. She knew what was coming, and she didn't like questions about her past, or family.

"Faith, I want to welcome you to Sunnydale." He said in a English accent "I hope you find our school wonderful. I am very proud of it myself. We have excellent sport's programs, lots of after school actitivites to be involved in, and our academic's are rated very highly." He smiled proudly.

Faith remained quiet, with a blank look on her face. "Ahem, anyways I am Principal Giles. I have been informed of your situation, and I want you to know if you ever need someone to talk to I am here. Now, I won't get into your history, because I am sure you are trying to move on with your life. I do hope that now that you have a fresh start, you make the best of it, and no longer feel the need, to get into trouble. I am assigning you a student guide. She will give you a tour, and help you with anything you need. She's one of our best, and brightest students here, so feel free to ask her anything."

"Thanks." Is all Faith said, ready to get out of here.

"Well Faith, you should be getting to first period now. Your guide has the class with you. Her name is Miss Willow Rosenburg. Try and have a good day." He said rising from his seat.

"Yeah, I will." She mumbled and hastily exited the room.

Looking at her schedule, she headed to room 115. First period would be World History class. Just lovely. She opened the door, and stepped into the already in progress class. The teacher a middle aged woman, with graying hair stopped in mid sentence and looked at Faith. "You must be our new student. Take a seat Miss Walker." The teacher gestured.

Faith sat in the only empty seat, which was in the middle of the class. She glanced around at the students who were looking at her. She noticed some bimbo giggling, and snarled at her, causing her to immediantly stop. "Class please welcome our new student Faith Walker, she comes to us from Boston. Let's try and make her feel comfortable in her new school." The teacher said.

"Hi Faith." Said an echo of students.

Faith just nodded her head, and then stared at the blackboard at the front. The class progressed, and Faith sat quietly, counting down the minutes until it ended. Finally after what seemed like an eternity the bell sounded. She grabbed her new book, tossed it in her backpack, and left the room before anyone else had even moved. She walked down the hallway, intent on finding her locker, when she heard her name being called.

"Faith, hey Faith, wait up." A red head from class was chasing after her.

"Yeah?" Faith turned and looked at her.

"Hi, I'm Willow. I'm supposed to be your tour guide so to say. I think you will really like it here. Sunnydale is a pretty swell school." Willow stammered.

Faith just stared at her "Yeah I am sure it's swell indeed."

"Come on I'll show you where your locker is. It's right beside of mine." The girl beamed, as she led the way.

*****

Two more classes later, it was finally lunch time. Faith told Willow that she would meet her in the cafeteria. The red headed girl wasn't so bad, Faith thought. A little annoying with her constant babbling, but she was nice. She wasn't a stuck up, and she looked at Faith like she was a normal human being. So she grabbed her lunch tray, and spotted Willow waving her over to a table in corner, and that's where she went.

"Hi Faith, have a seat." Willow said.

"Thanks." Faith said plopping down, she looked around the table and noticed one other person sitting there.

"Faith, this is Xander. He's my best bud." Willow said for introduction.

"Hi Xander." Faith said with a nod.

"Nice to meet you Faith." The dark haired boy practically drooled, his eyes on her chest, instead of her eyes.

"Eyes up here fellow." Faith said playfully, causing him to blush and turn away.

"So Faith, what brings you all the way here from Boston?" Willow questioned.

Here it goes, Faith thought. "My parents died, so I came here to live with my aunt." She didn't feel the need for details.

"Oh, I am sorry Faith. I had no idea." Willow frowned.

"It's ok really, I am dealing." Faith forced a half smile.

"So Faith, do you have a boyfriend." An over eager Xander asked.

Faith took a sip of her juice "No, don't really have any use for one."

"Ah, okay." Xander said with knitted brows.

"Aww look the geek squad has a new recruit. How sweet is that?" Said a voice.

Faith turned in her seat, to see who made the comment. Standing before her was a leggy brunette, dressed in some designer skirt outfit. Faith rolled her eyes, there's one in every school.

"Cordelia, so nice of you to break away from your flock for two seconds." Xander said sarcastically.

"Shut up Harris, don't be jealous because I'm popular, and you are just a loser." She said, and turned on her heel and left.

"Who the hell was that?" Faith asked.

"That was the beast. Better known as Cordelia Chase. The self proclaimed Queen of Sunnydale high." Xander said, biting hard into his apple.

"Seems like your typical snotty bitch to me." Faith said causing the other two to laugh.

"That she is. We've known her since kindergarden, and she has always been rude to both of us. Apparently we're not cool in her eyes, but that's okay because we're cool in our own way." Willow said matter of factly.

Faith smiled, a real smile. She liked these people already "I think you guys are wicked cool. I'm glad I met you two."

"We feel the same." Willow assured her.

Faith turned around when she heard loud laughter coming from "the queen's" table. That's when she spotted her. Faith was in a trance. She sat there, with her mouth half open, just staring. She was without a doubt the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. Her blonde hair, hung perfectly over her shoulders, her green eyes sparkled so brightly, they could light up the whole room. Her tanned skin seemed perfect, and she bet it felt like silk.

"Earth to Faith." Xander was waving his hand through the air.

"Huh..what?" Faith came back to and turned around.

"What was you looking at?" Xander asked her.

"Nothing, just in a daze I guess." She lied "Hey who's that girl sitting by the bitch?"

"Buffy?" Xander rose an eyebrow.

"Buffy?" Faith laughed, what kind of name was that.

"Yeah Buffy Summers. Cordelia's little sidekick." Xander rolled his eyes.

"Xander, she's not that bad." Willow interrupted "Buffy moved here from LA last year. Cordelia immediantly got her into her little group. She's not like her though. I've talked to her a couple of times. She was just trying to fit in, when she came here, and well I guess Cordy is her type of people."

"I see." Faith said simply.

*****

It was Faith's last class of the day, chemistry. She was happy when she learned that she had English with both Willow and Xander, even though the snotty Cordelia and her friends were in there too. Unfortunatly the hot blonde, Buffy wasn't one of them. She didn't know what it was about that girl, but it was instant attraction. Even though the girl was decked out in pastels, and not her type. Faith wanted to laugh when she entered the classroom, to see the object of her thought's sitting there.

She took a seat at one of the tables, and class began. She found herself constantly peeking over at the blonde. It was highly arousing the way she nibbled on the end of her pencil. Faith watched in fasination, as she tapped her sandled foot, on the table leg. Why was this stuck up chic, having this kind of effect on her? Ok, it was no secret, Faith liked girls. She had her share of guys, but they just didn't do it for her. But this girl, was so not her type. Nothing wrong with window shopping though.

"Faith Walker." The teacher called her name.

"Yeah?" She looked up, completely lost, as the class laughed.

"I said your project partner will be Buffy Summers. Please take a seat next to her." The teacher pointed.

Holy shit, Faith thought. She was actually going to have to talk to the girl. Good, once she opened her mouth, all lustful thoughts were sure to cease. Faith grabbed her stuff, and moved to the table next to Buffy.

"Hi." Faith said, slumping down in her seat.

"Hello." Buffy simply said.

"So what exactly is this project we're doing?" Faith asked.

She just gave her a strange look "Mr. Teagen just spent twenty minutes explaining it."

Damn, she was zoned out that long "Uh, yeah I was kinda off in space. Afraid I missed the whole speech."

"Well if you were listening, you would know that we are stuck doing a science project together. We have to figure out, what to do it on." Buffy said matter of factly.

"Yeah, okay." Faith mumbled.

"Seriously, I need a good grade in this class. If you won't take this seriously, then you need to get a new partner."

Faith sensed some attitude "Chill out B, damn I will work on the project alright?"

"B?" Buffy asked.

"The name Buffy, kinda strange if you ask me. I'll just call you B." Faith grinned, showing off her dimples.

"Whatever suits you." Buffy was annoyed with this girl.

"So B, as you know I'm new around here. Where can a girl find some action in this place?" Faith was starting to feel like her old self again.

"Action? Well there's the Bronze. A club close by, they let anyone in." Buffy said with a smirk.

Was that a diss? Faith thought "I guess so, if you've been there."

"What was that supposed to mean?" Buffy turned in her chair, looking at her face for the first time.

"Nothing, just a little joke." Faith grinned.

Buffy was frozen for a moment. She hadn't realized how beautiful this girl was. Her natural, brown, wavy hair, looked wild, and sexy. Her smoldering brown eyes, seemed to stare right into her soul, and her lips were indescribable. The bell sounded and Buffy nearly jumped out of her seat. "Look we'll discuss our project tomorrow."

"Alright with me." Faith said, as she sauntered out of the room.

PART TWO

Faith eagerly made her way to Chemistry class. In fact she had been waiting all day for last period to roll around. It freaked her out, that she was actually excited to be going to a class. It wasn't to learn though, that is for sure. She was excited to see Buffy again. She hadn't spotted her at lunch, and felt somewhat dissapointed. She knew this was insane of her. She had spent all last night, laying in her bed, thinking about the hot blonde. For one thing the girl was obviously straight, and another thing, she was kind of bitchy. Faith only had their brief conversation to go on, but the girl wasn't exactly miss friendly. Still she just wanted to see her again.

Casually strolling into the room, she spotted her object of lust. Damn, she looked fine today. Faith took the seat next to her, and gave her a little grin. "What's up B?"

"Not a thing F. What's up with you?" Buffy replied, picking at her manicured nails.

"Nodda. So we ready to get this project rolling or what?" Faith propped a leg on the table.

Buffy nudged her leg, so it dropped to the floor "That's rude, and yes the quicker we get this done, the better."

"Yanno, I am starting to get the feeling that you don't like me B." Faith just looked at her.

"I never said that. I don't even know you." Buffy replied.

"That's right you don't. I know you though, well your type I should say. You think you are better than me and everyone else, well guess what sweet cheeks, you're not." Faith said with attitude.

Buffy was stunned for a moment. ~Did she just say that to me?~ "Excuse me, but you know nothing about me okay? I don't think I am better than anyone. You are the one who is being judgmental here."

Faith snorted "Yeah, you keep telling yourself that."

"Look, what is your problem? I don't know what your deal is, but I haven't done anything to you." Buffy felt her cheeks burning.

"Yeah and what about Willow and Xander? Have you been so nice to them too?"

"I barely even know them okay. What Cordelia does is her thing, just because I hang with her, doesn't mean I am exactly like her. I think you need to get the facts, before you run your mouth, new girl."

"Whatever." Faith waved her hand, as if dismissing the entire conversation.

"Yeah, whatever." Buffy huffed.

The two sat in silence for a good fifteen minutes. Neither one of them wanting to talk to the other. Faith was getting tired of this childish shit though, and so she thought she'd be the bigger woman here, and try this again.

"Look B, we're not getting anything accomplished here. We have to have this project done by Monday, and it's Friday. We won't see each other after this, to work on it."

"Yeah, you are right. What do you think we should do it on? Maybe we could make a volcano." Buffy said.

Faith laughed "That's like so second grade science fair."

Buffy just gritted her teeth "Ok Einstein, why don't you come up with something then."

Faith knitted her brows in deep concentration "Don't strain yourself." Buffy said with a smirk.

"Shut up, I'm trying to think." Faith growled "Ok I got it, wait does this have to be about chemistry or just scientific in nature?" Faith asked.

"Umm, just scientific. It's for the science fair, so anything goes I guess." Buffy replied.

"Cool. So here's my idea. We get like 10 mice okay, five boys and five girls, and we make them do different stunts and tests, and see what gender is smarter." Faith smiled, proud of her idea.

"Eww, no way am I playing with mice." Buffy snarled her nose.

"Oh come on, it will be cool. Better than making a lousy volcano."

"Mice are disgusting little creatures, with their red, beaty eyes. No, I refuse." Buffy crossed her arms.

"You are such a priss, you know that? It's this or nothing B." Faith leaned back in her chair, hell bent on having it her way.

Buffy gave her an evil look. She had no choice, if she got another F, her mom would ground her for life. "Fine, we will do the damn mice thing, but I am not touching them."

Faith grinned, she knew she'd get her way "That's cool. So uh how we gonna do this? We need to get the mice, and do the tests."

"I guess we'll have to do it during the weekend." Buffy hated the thought of having to spend her free time with this weird girl, and mice.

"That's fine. Not like I have anything better to do anyways. So you wanna meet tomorrow and get the mice?" Faith asked, excited at the idea of seeing the girl out of school.

"How about you pick up the mice, and meet me at my house around five tomorrow evening?" Buffy really didn't want Cordelia and the crew to see her rat shopping with this girl.

"Fine, I can do that, I guess." Faith agreed.

*****

"Hey Red." Faith said approaching Willow after school.

"What's with you and the nicknames?" Willow asked, not really loving her new name.

"It's a habit. Where's Xman?" Faith asked.

"He's coming, I left him drooling after some freshman in the hallway." Willow rolled her eyes.

"So what's up with you two anyway? Ever do the touchy feely?" Faith winked.

"Eww, no. Xander is like my brother. Beside's he's a total horn dog." Willow blushed at her own words.

Faith laughed "I hear that. So tell me Red, you do like boys don't you?"

"Huh? Of course I do, what else would I ...oh..you..mean..girls? Oh..no I like boys Faith." Willow blushed, and stammered.

"Chill Red, I was just kidding." Faith leaned back against a pole "Look, I want you to know something, before you find out anyways, and I hope this don't freak you out, or make you not wanna talk to me, cause I think your really kickin."

Willow saw the seriousness in her new friend's face. "You can tell me anything Faith. I won't think any differently of you."

"I umm, I'm into girls. I mean I drive stick occasionaly, but I prefer to go automatic, if you know what I'm saying." Faith said, looking at Willow for her reaction.

"Oh, wow. Well that's cool Faith. I like to think of myself as an open minded individual. It doesn't make me look at you any differently." Willow smiled at her.

"Thanks Red. I appreciate you and Xander being so nice to me."

"Hey, I'm glad you like being around us." Willow smiled, walked over and gave Faith a brief hug, Faith wasn't used to that.

"Hey what's up with the love fest, and where's my lovin?" Xander asked, walking up to them.

"Didn't get any lovin from the freshman huh?" Faith smirked.

"Willow, you have a big mouth, you know that right?" Xander joked.

"So you guys want to go grab a latte?" Willow asked her friends.

"Sure, I'm down for it." Faith would rather do anything, than go home.

*****

The three of them sat around a table sipping on their coffees, and nibbling on muffins. They were in the middle of a debate over the hottest cartoon character.

"I am telling you Wonder Woman was hot." Xander said with his mouth half full.

"I agree, but Shera was definitely hotter." Faith said casually.

Xander looked at her "It's so cool that you can comment on other chic's hotness."

Willow giggled but remained silent "Uh Xman, there's something I should tell you." Faith started.

"She likes girls." Willow blurted out, causing the other two to stare at her "Sorry, it slipped." She bowed her head.

"You like girls? As in like..like girls?" Xander couldn't stop the mental images.

"Yeah I do. Are you cool with that?" Faith asked.

"Hey that is alright with me! Thank you for giving me great dreams to come." Xander said with a goofy grin.

"Red was right, you are a horn dog." Faith laughed.

"Willow!" Xander tossed a muffin at her head, but he missed and hit the girl who just walked in.

Faith burst out laughing, she couldn't help it. The blueberry muffin had hit one Cordelia Chase right in the face. She was acting as if it were a bomb, arms flailing about. Buffy who was standing behind her, with another girl named Harmony was stifling a laugh herself. All laughter ceased though as Cordelia stormed over to Xander.

"You freak! You threw a muffin at me." She shouted.

"I wasn't aiming at you, your head is just so large, it's impossible to miss." Xander said with a straight face.

Cordelia all but growled "People like you, and your little dyke friends shouldn't be allowed in trendy places like this anyway."

That did it. Faith stood up "You know what, you best shut the fuck up, before you have a boot stuck in that prissy ass of yours. I don't care how things were done in this town before I came along, but the shit is going to stop now. If I see you even look at these two wrong, I am going to seriously injure you."

Cordelia took a step back, but tried to act like she wasn't afraid "Listen here you scrub, I know what side of the tracks you're from. People like you are nothing. If you threaten me again I will have my daddy's lawyer slap a lawsuit on you so fast, you won't see it coming."

Faith snorted "Ohh, and I'm supposed to be afraid of your daddy and his lawyer?"

"You will be when your alchoholic aunt has to save up all her foodstamps to bail you out of jail." Cordelia said cruelly.

Faith felt embarressed because Buffy just stood there looking at her. Now the classy girl, knew she was scum. "Fuck you, you stuck up bitch." With that Faith ran out of the building.

"Cordy, you are pathetic, I hope you feel better now that you hurt someone." Xander said grabbing Willow's hand and leaving.

"Oh, I do thanks." Cordy smiled at her victory, as Harmony laughed.

"That was kind of harsh Cordy." Buffy said, not laughing at all.

"Oh, please don't tell me, you are gonna stick up for those geeks now. You want to go play with them Buffy?" Cordelia looked at her.

"Of course not, I was just saying, geez." Buffy just dropped it.

PART THREE

Faith checked her watch. It was almost four in the evening. She was supposed to go get some mice, and meet Buffy at her house. She looked down at the piece of paper in her hands with her address on it. She was debating on if she wanted to go or not. She looked like a complete ass yesterday in front of the girl. She should of knocked Cordelia's teeth out, but instead she ran away like a wussy. Then again Buffy just stood there listening to Cordelia talk to them like that, and didn't say a word. You know what, it didn't matter how hot Buffy was, Faith decided she wasn't the type of person, she even wanted to fantasize about.

With that she headed towards the pet store, swiping a few bucks out of her passed out aunt's purse on the way. Her aunt had begun drinking again. When Faith returned home yesterday she found her passed out on the couch, with two empty bottles of vodka beside her. She made herself a sandwich with what she could rummage up in the kitchen, and locked herself in her room, until she fell asleep.

Stopping in the pet store, she made the clerk separate the mice, into two different boxes based on their gender. She also picked up a cheap spinning wheel, for one of the tests that she planned to perform. She paid the clerk, and began her journey to Buffy's house. She dreaded this, and just wanted to get the shit done as quick as possible. She was sure Buffy felt the same way about it.

Within fifteen minutes she was standing at Buffy Summers door. She felt her heart race, and told it to stop, she wasn't interested in her. She took a deep breathe, and rung the doorbell. A minute later an older woman, she assumed was Buffy's mother answered the door.

"Hi, you must be Buffy's science partner." The woman said sweetly.

"Yeah, umm hello Mrs. Summers." Faith said nervously, she wasn't good around adults.

"Come on in honey, and I'll get Buffy." She said dissapearing for a moment, then returning.

"Buffy, will be right down. I'm her mother Joyce. I hear you are new to town, how do you like it so far?" Joyce asked.

"It's okay, a little different, but not bad." Faith replied.

"It's rough adjusting to a new town. Buffy had some problems herself when we moved here last year, but she's doing just fine now. I wish she'd choose some better friends, but you know how that goes." Joyce said smiling.

"Yeah, I know how that goes." Faith said simply.

Buffy came into the room, and Faith was again frozen. Standing there holding her boxes of mice. Buffy looked much more casual than she did at school. She had her hair pulled back, with a few golden strands, coming down to frame her perfect face. She wore cut off grey jogging pants, that showed off her tanned legs, and if she bent over, other intruiging things as well. Her plain white t-shirt, barely covered her toned midriff, and Faith wanted to bite her hand, and just say have mercy!

"Hi Faith." Buffy said walking over to her "We're gonna go to my room and work mom." Buffy said to her mother.

"Okay honey, if you girls need anything just yell, and please don't let those mice loose." Joyce cringed.

"We won't mom." Buffy said motioning Faith to follow her up the stairs.

Faith followed Buffy up the staircase, and into her room. Her room was as Faith had imaged it. Ok, so she thought about her room, and mainly her bed a few times. It was too girly for Faith's taste, but it screamed Buffy. The room had an overwhelming smell of vanilla and Faith thought that had to be the most comforting scent she had ever smelt.

Buffy closed her door, and walked up behind Faith "Listen, before we start, I just want to say I'm sorry about what Cordelia said to you yesterday."

"No reason to be, she said it, not you, and besides it was the truth." Faith shrugged and sat the boxes, and her bookbag down on the floor "So let's get this over with."

Buffy wanted to say more, but she didn't. "Okay, so what exactly are we supposed to do with these rats?"

"They're mice, and I thought we'd try like two different tests. I bought a wheel, we can make them run on it, and see who last's the longest, then we can make a maze and see which sex completes it the fatest. We're write down all the results, and you can write up the report."

"Why do I got to write the report?" Buffy asked, her hands on her hips.

"Because I bought the mice, besides my handwriting is like chicken scratch." Faith grinned.

Buffy nodded "Ok, well let's make the maze first, so that way, we can go ahead and do both the tests at once."

"Fine by me." Faith shrugged.

*****

The two girls had sat quietly building a maze out of books, and other assorted items found around Buffy's room. They barely spoke, but found that they worked quite well together. They had made a complete, large maze, piece by piece. They both noticed when they weren't arguing, they kinda had this flow going between them. It's like they put together a puzzle piece by piece, knowing where the other was going to place a object, without even being told.

"Ok let's see what these babies can do." Faith said picking up two mice.

"Okay, I'm setting my watch, to time them." Buffy said, watching Faith pet the mice.

"Alright Helen is at the wheel first, and Bob is in the maze." Faith said.

Buffy rose an eyebrow and smiled "You named them?"

Faith blushed a little "Well yeah, I thought they would like to at least have names."

"That's cute." Buffy laughed.

"Wow look at Helen go." Faith commented on the mouse running on the wheel.

"Well Bob over there seems lost." Buffy looked at the little thing, twitching its nose, and practically running into the maze walls.

Faith laughed "Typical male. The girls are so going to kick ass."

"We are smarter than the male species." Buffy laughed "The little guy reminds me of Riley."

Faith stopped laughing "Who's Riley?"

"Oh he goes to our school, he's a senior." Buffy said nonchantly.

Faith's heart seemed to drop "Oh, is that your boyfriend?"

"No, we've been out a few times, but I really don't like him like that. He's so persistant though. I don't think he gets the hint." Buffy sighed.

"So what kind of guys do you like?" Faith was full of questions.

"Oh, I don't know. Riley is like the all American guy, yanno football player, class president, Mr. popular, but it's just not there. I only went out with him because Cordy talked me into it."

Faith shook her head "Do you always do what Cordelia tells you to?"

"No I do not. I'm my own person." Buffy said.

"I don't get you at all." Faith sighed, writing down the test results.

"What do you mean by that?" Buffy questioned her.

"It's just you seem like a really cool chic, but then when Cordelia is around, you are like a totally different person. Why do you care so much about what she thinks?"

"I don't..I mean I am the same person, but Cordelia was the first friend I made when I moved here. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't know anyone, and I would be like a total social disaster."

"What's the big deal about being popular? I mean I never understood it. Who cares if people like you." Said Faith.

"It's high school, everyone wants to be popular. Life would just suck if you wasn't" Buffy said, getting a glance from Faith "Sorry I didn't mean anything by that."

Faith rolled her eyes "Don't have to say sorry to me. I never wanted to be popular. I got lucky and made two awesome friends here, who I wouldn't trade for any amount of popularness."

"Well that's good, I guess we're just different. I don't think I'm better than anyone Faith, we just have different points of view is all." Buffy defended.

"Yeah, I guess." Faith figured maybe she had a point.

They continued on with their work, and before they knew it, they had all of the tests completed. The female mice ended up beating the male species in both categories. Faith was proud of that fact. She didn't hate males, she just thought that females were more intelligent, and hot in her opionion.

"So I guess that's it." Faith said putting the mice back in their boxes.

"Yeah, I guess so." Buffy found herself oddly dissappointed "Hey..can I pet Ellie?" Buffy asked refering to what seemed like Faith's favorite white mouse.

Faith looked up from her task "You are actually going to touch one?"

"Well yeah, I was scared at first, but you've been handling them all day and they didn't bite you or anything, so I guess I could try."

Faith smiled and picked Ellie up from the box, holding her in her palm, she walked to where Buffy stood "Here you go."

"Can you hold her? I just want to pet her." Buffy was still cautious.

"Sure." Faith laughed.

Buffy tentively reached her hand out, and stroked its soft fur coat with her fingers. Her wrist touched Faith's hand every time she moved her hand to pet the animal. Faith stood stock still, and remained quiet. It was so cute to watch Buffy pet something she feared. It was like a little child. Not to mention the feel of Buffy's hand touching hers, even if it was accidental. She was right her skin did feel like silk.

The door opened, and scared Buffy. She jumped back and Ellie jumped out of Faith's hand and into the floor. "Mom.." Buffy started, but quickly realized it wasn't her mother who came in, but Cordelia.

"What is she doing here?" Cordelia asked, looking at Faith.

"She's my partner...for Chemistry class..we uhh had to do a science project." Buffy fumbled for words.

"You actually let her into your room? I hope you plan on scrubbing the carpets afterwards." Cordelia said.

Faith went to open her mouth, but stopped herself, she wouldn't make a scene in Buffy's home. "I was just leaving."

Faith began to look around the floor for the runaway mouse, when Cordelia shrieked. Hehe, found her. Faith knelt down, and picked up Ellie from her spot beside Cordelia's white pumps. "Get that thing away from me, it probally has rabies." Cordelia said with her hands out in front of her, as if warding off a giant snake.

"Scared of a little mouse there Cordelia?" Faith snorted, putting Ellie back in the box, and gathering up her things.

"Actually the rabies comment, was for you." Cordelia replied, regaining her composure.

"Cordelia, that's enough." Buffy finally said, gaining a displeased look from her.

"Faith, thanks for coming over, and working on the project. I'll have the report done by Monday." Buffy said looking at her.

"Yeah, no problem. Later B." Faith said, pushing past Cordelia and exiting the room as quickly as possible.

Joyce heard the front door close from her spot beneath the staircase. She shook her head, and went back into the kitchen. Kids can be so cruel sometimes. She was just dissapointed that Buffy was turning into one of those. She knew how the politics of high school worked, and her daughter was always popular in Los Angeles.

Maybe it was her fault for dragging her here in the first place. Now she had to be a snob, just to fit in. That poor Faith, something about the girl had caught Joyce's attention. She just screamed, I need affection. Joyce's motherly senses had been overwhelmed.

PART FOUR

It had been a week since Faith and Buffy's project. It had been a week since Faith said a word to Buffy, and vice versa. Buffy barely even glimpsed at her during Chemistry class. It bothered Faith at first. She could at least say hello, or something.

Cordelia must have set her straight. No talking to the freaks now. So Faith ignored her back, and pretended not to care. Faith had been spending most of her free time with Willow and Xander. The three of them were becoming closer. She had even found herself sharing some of her past with the two.

She told them about the trouble she stayed in, in Boston. She told them about her mother's drug habits, and her step-dad's asshole ways, without all the graphic details. She didn't want pity from anyone, so she never told anyone everything that happened to her. She did tell them how her step-dad killed her mother, before turning the gun on himself. Faith knew they felt sorry for her, but she insisted that they not mention it, and neither of them did. She loved them for that.

So it was Saturday now, the beginning of spring break, and Faith stood beside a large tree in front of the school. She was waiting on Xander and Willow to arrive. The junior and senior class were going on a camping trip. Faith totally did not want to go, but the trip would give you extra credit, which she needed if she wanted to ever pass 11th grade. Plus Willow and Xan were going, and she really didn't want to be stuck at home with her passed out aunt all week.

"Are we ready to rough it or what?" Asked Xander, approaching with Willow in tow.

"Rough it, they have cabins remember Xander?" Willow just looked at him.

"Yes, but there are no tv's, or video games. There for we are so roughing it." Xander reminded her.

"I've been in worse situations." Faith said, lighting up a cigarette.

"Faith, you can't smoke that here." Willow chastised.

"Relax it's nicotine, not weed Red." Faith smirked.

"I know that Faith, but this is school property. It's bad enough you sneak down in the basement and smoke during school hours."

Faith got such a kick out of Willow. She was so the good girl. In time Faith might be able to change that though. "Ok, it's out. Now chill Red." Faith said stomping out her cigarette.

"Thank you. Now I can breathe again." Willow joked.

*****

The bus ride to the campsite felt stuffy, and long. Luckily Cordelia, Buffy, and the rest of their little crew were on the other bus. Faith would of hated to have to throw some bodies from a moving vehicle. She was dreading this trip. She really didn't dig group activities, unless it involved her and a hot, sweaty female companion or two. She would make the best of it though.

When they finally arrived, everyone got off of the bus, and stood around, waiting for their instructions. If Faith had to stay on that bus with those giggling rejects a minute longer, she was going to start kicking ass and taking names. They were assigned their cabins, and Faith was happy that Willow was in hers. They would be sharing it with six other girls whom she did not know. Poor Xander had to room with the boys.

Once in the cabin they began unpacking their things. Faith was kind of ashamed. She only had two pair of shorts, and no bathing suit. She just couldn't afford it. She was considering getting a job after school, but wasn't sure if anyone would actually hire her.

"Hi, your name is Faith right?" A sweet looking brunette asked.

"Yeah, that's me." Faith said, putting the rest of her belongings in a chest.

"My name is Dawn. We have History class together." The girl smiled.

"Oh yeah, I remember you now." Faith said.

"You sure didn't bring many shorts. You know it gets really hot here during the day." Dawn said looking down at the bare stack of clothing.

"Yeah, uh, I'm more of a jeans sorta girl yanno." Faith said, taking a seat on the end of her bed.

"Oh that's cool, but if you want to borrow some of my clothes, feel free. I think I brought enough to last a month." She giggled "They're not all sexy like your stuff, but they'll do if you get hot enough."

"You think my clothes are sexy?" Faith raised an eyebrow, taking a sudden interest in this convo.

The girl blushed "Well yes, I see you wearing those leather pants all the time. Not everyone can pull off leather in eighty degree weather."

Faith found herself laughing "Well thank you, and you have a point, leather may not be the best material for the woods."

"Well I'm bunking in the next bed, if you ever want to borrow anything just go right ahead."

"Ok, I'll do that. Thanks alot." Faith smiled.

"Anytime." Dawn said, before walking back to her bed.

Faith heard a cough and looked up to see Willow giving her a silly grin. "What?"

"Nothing, looks like someone has a crush on you though." Willow nodded her head in Dawn's direction.

Faith laughed "Yeah right. She probally knew I was poor, and couldn't afford my own clothes."

Willow gave her stern look "She was so flirting with you Faith. Just so you know you're welcome to anything of mine too, but I doubt you'd want to wear my clothes. Besides I'm built like a stick."

Faith threw a pillow at her "You are not built like a stick, you just need to wear clothes that show off your assets a little better."

"We can't all have a chest like yours Faith." Willow said.

"Been checkin out the twins huh Red?" Faith winked at her, causing Willow to blush and retreat back to her belongings.

PART FIVE

After everyone got settled in, and had lunch it was swimming time. The park they were staying at had a beautiful lake, complete with a built in slide, and diving board. Faith had took Dawn up on her offer and borrowed a bikini. Dawn was about a size smaller than her, so it was really tight fitting, just how Faith liked it. She went with a solid black one. The day was too nice, not to enjoy the water.

"Faith, I want you to meet a friend of mine." Xander said approaching with a bleached blonde.

"Hello lovely, the name is Spike." The guy held his hand out.

"Hi Spike, I'm Faith." She shook his hand.

"Spike here doesn't attend school much." Xander joked.

"Don't see no bloody need for it. I got better things to do." Spike waved his hand as if dismissing it.

"I hear ya there." Faith commented.

"Me and Xander here we're gonna go huntin for the honeys, but it seems I've done found the sweetest of them all." Spike flirted, checking her out.

Faith laughed "Good one, but you're barkin up the wrong tree here."

Spike nodded his head "Yeah I thought so," he said with a wink.

"Hey guys." Willow said trudging up to them in one piece suit.

"Hey Will." Xander and Spike said in unison.

"We ready to go swimming?" She excitedly asked.

*****

The group was having a blast. They had already played several games of chicken, and had a major water fight. Now they stood in the shallow end of the lake making fun of the dorks that were their classmates. Sure the other kids were probably saying the same things about them, but that was okay.

Faith was laughing at some off the wall comment Spike had made, when she seen Buffy standing near the edge of the water.

She looked good enough to fucking eat. The petite blonde, was made to be in a bikini. Faith stared at her from a distance. She found herself rememberizing every inch of her perfect body. From her cute little feet, the silver braclet she wore around her left ankle, the way the lilac suit fit her just right. She was working her way up, when her view was blocked by some beefy guy.

Faith gritted her teeth. The beefstick was putting his hands on her waist. It must be that Riley guy, Faith thought. Buffy didn't really look like a happy camper. She pulled away from him, and it was easy to see that she didn't want to be touched by him.

He however apparently wasn't getting the hint. He kept getting, all up in her personal space, and was way to touchy feely for Faith's liking. She found herself making her way out of the water, and onto land. It was like this pull. She walked closer to where Buffy stood, with Cordelia, and a group of others. She just wanted to hear, what this guy was saying to her.

"Can we talk alone Buffy?" Riley asked her.

"Riley, I'm just trying to chill with my friends right now." Buffy said.

"Please? It won't take a minute." He gave her a puppy dog look.

"Ok, but make it quick." She relented, and took his hand.

Faith watched as the two of them began walking off into some bush alone. This was insane! Why did she care? Buffy didn't give a shit about her. Yet, something about the girl kept drawing her too her. She couldn't explain it. It was a force she had never felt before.

So without even thinking, she was quietly trailing behind the two, making sure to stay hidden behind the trees. They had walked about a mile into the woods, when they stopped at a clearing. Faith remained hidden, but close enough to see and hear what was going on.

"What is it Riley?" A clearly annoyed Buffy asked.

"Why have you been avoiding me?" The muscular blonde asked.

"I haven't. I've just been busy with things." Buffy said.

"Well you aren't busy now...so why don't you get busy with me?" He glared at her like a lion eyeing a steak.

Buffy cleared her throat "Excuse me?"

"You heard me. Come on Buffy nobody will see us out here." He wrapped his arms around her waist, and moved in to kiss her.

Buffy pulled away before his lips landed on hers "Riley, I've told you that I'm not interested in you like that. I just want to be your friend okay?"

His jaw twitched "You are such a cock tease Buffy."

Buffy's eyes got big, where did he get off talking to her like this "I have not lead you on in any way Riley."

"Yeah right! You think you are just so fucking hot. I am Riley Finn. I can have any girl I want Buffy, but I'm willing to settle for you."

Buffy laughed "You got to be kidding me. I don't want you! Go get all of those girls, please, and leave me the hell alone." She turned to walk away when he grabbed her arm roughly, and yanked her back "Let go of me!"

"I'll let go of you, when you give me what I want." He smashed his lips into hers, before she could even move.

She turned her head away, and tried to get out of his grasp to no avail. He was much bigger, and stronger than she was "Riley, I swear I'll scream."

"Nobody will hear you." He had an evil glint in his eye, and he began pulling at the strings to her bikini top, as she fought to get away from him "Come on, you know you want it."

That was it. Faith had seen enough. She stormed over to the bastard and grabbed him by the back of his shirt, pulling him off of Buffy. He turned around, stunned to see it was a girl who had pushed him away. "Get the fuck out of here skank." He said.

"No, I think you need to get the fuck out of here. I believe the girl said no buddy, and that means you have no right to touch her." Faith was beyond pissed.

He laughed "This is none of your business." He grabbed Buffy's arm "Let's get out of here."

"No, Let go of me now Riley!" Buffy jerked her arm free.

Riley raised his hand, intent on slapping the disobediant girl across the face, but it never landed its mark. Faith grabbed his wrist, and swiftly twisted it behind his back. With all her might she pushed the jock to the ground, and jumped on his back, pushing his face, hard into the dirt. "You better never raise your hand to her again, or I will rip your fucking dick off, and shove it up your ass."

"Faith, it's ok let him go." Buffy said placing a hand on her shoulder, it looked like Riley was in intense pain.

Faith looked up at her, and let his arm go, rising back to her feet "Come on B, let's get back to camp."

"Okay." Buffy nodded, and took two steps, before turning around in time to see Riley back on his feet "Faith watch out!"

It was too late though. Riley had landed a hard right to Faith's jaw. The girl's head jerked back so far, it looked like her neck was going to snap in two. Faith looked up with an almost animalistic stare. With blood dripping from her lip, she cracked her knuckles, and slammed her fist into Riley's face. Before he could strike back, she landed a kick to his crotch, causing him to double over in pain. She grabbed his head, and rammed her knee into it, before pulling his head back by his hair, and sucker punching him again.

"Faith, no more please." Buffy cried out, pulling the girl away.

Faith let go, and Riley hit the ground with a thud. Before anymore words were spoken a teacher suddenly appeared. "What is going on here?"

Buffy looked up, oh great it just so happened to be coach Sanders "Nothing, we were just leaving."

"Riley?" The distraught coach picked his star quarter back up off the ground "What have these girls done to you?"

"Coach, they jumped me from behind man. I didn't want to hit a girl, but I had no choice. That bitch is crazy." He pointed to Faith.

"What the fuck?" Faith threw her hands up in the air "He was practically raping Buffy."

"That's nonsense!" The coach scolded "Riley would do no such thing. He's no trouble maker, like you girls. I'm going to see to it, that you are punished for this."

PART SIX

"Faith?" Willow came in to see Faith packing up her things "What's going on? Everyone is saying that you went schitzo on Riley Finn."

"That bastard deserved what he got." Faith said looking up from her task.

"Oh my God, did he do that to you?" Will ran to her side, once she saw the bruise on her cheek, and her swollen lip.

"Yeah, and he was hurting Buffy. She kept telling him to leave her alone, the dude was man handling her. I wasn't gonna sit back and just watch that." Faith was fuming.

"Buffy huh?" Willow seen the way Faith looked at the girl, but she never brought it up.

"You know don't you?" Faith asked.

"That you have a major crush on Buffy? It's very obvious to someone with such keen senses as myself." Willow smiled.

"Yeah, well I'm insane. Now I'm going to have to spend the rest of the trip with her." Faith sighed.

"What are you talking about?"

"Our punishment for the Riley incident. It was our word against his. Besides Buffy wouldn't speak up. She made me look like a fucking liar. All she cares about is her damn image. Now we get to move into a cabin by ourselves. We can't be involved in any group activities. So I gotta sit up in that fucking place with her for like twenty hours a day. We even have to eat lunch together."

"Dang, I'm sorry Faith. Look on the bright side, maybe she will get to know you, and well you never know." Willow was trying to be positive.

"Yeah right, Buffy Summers is as straight as they come. Besides if she was going to go for a girl, I'd be last on her list."

*****

Faith trudged up to the secluded cabin, with her bags in hand. She was cussing every step of the way. If she could just go home, she would. Unfortunately this place was two hours from Sunnydale, and her drunken aunt sure as hell wouldn't come get her. She finally reached the cabin and kicked the wooden door open with her foot. Stepping inside she threw her bags down on the floor, and barely glanced at the girl, already sitting on her bed.

"I got this bed." Buffy nonchalantly said.

Faith didn't even glance at her, instead she just sat down on the bed which was on the opposite wall, pulled her headphones out of her bag, and turned some Rancid tune up full blast. Buffy just stared at her. Did she actually think she could ignore her for the rest of the week? Buffy got up, and walked over to the stubborn brunette, yanking the cord out of the player. Faith looked up at her with a death glare.

"Look, we're going to be stuck together for the rest of the week. We might as well make the best of it." Said a mildly frightened Buffy.

"Fuck you." Is all Faith said before laying down and turning on her side, facing away from the shocked blonde.

Buffy stood there for a moment, mouth agape "What the hell is your problem?" She bravely yanked Faith's arm and turned her around.

Faith hopped up in lightening speed, and somehow managed to back Buffy up against the wall "Don't ever touch me like that again blondie." She gritted her teeth, and stared down at the shorter girl "My fucking problem is you!" She shouted before turning away.

"What have I done to you?" Buffy asked timidly.

"I saved your ass today, and what do I get? Thanks? No, I get you lying to the teachers, sticking up for that beefstick, and making me look like a fuckin nutcase." Faith shook her head, and reach inside her pockets, pulling out a pack of cigarettes.

"You don't understand the way things work around here Faith. Riley is Mr. Wonderful around here. Nobody would believe me and you over him. If I just keep my mouth shut, then maybe he won't go spreading rumours about me, and make my life a living hell." Buffy shrugged her shoulders, sitting back down.

Faith lit up her cigarette, and took a deep inhale "The guy practically raped you B. Unless you enjoyed it that is. Maybe I just stumbled upon some kinky roleplay."

Buffy's eyes widened "I can't believe you would say that. I didn't want him to touch me."

"Then why stick up for the asshole? What if I wasn't there? What if he would of raped you? Would you of let him get away with it? Cuz that's just fucked up B. Your reputation isn't worth your dignity."

Buffy stared down at the floor, the girl, no matter how aggervating she was, did have a valid point. Maybe Buffy did put too much emphasis on popularity. "Faith?"

"What?" Faith half asked, half sighed.

"I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry that you are stuck here with me, and not with your friends. But, I do thank you. If you hadn't come along I...I..don't know what would of happened. And I'm sorry that he hit you." Buffy said now looking up, into her chocolate eyes, her beautiful features marred by a darkened bruise.

Faith felt the sincerity in her words, and it made her heart jump just a little. "Look you don't have to thank me. I don't like to see men, manhandling women like that. Besides this shiner is nothing. Did ya see the major damage I did to his face? Not to mention I bet his dick will be limp for three days." Faith smirked.

Buffy laughed, remembering the look of pure agony on Riley's face, when Faith kicked him square in the nuts "How did you learn to fight like that?"

Faith shrugged her shoulders "The streets I guess. The part of Boston I lived in, you had to be a fighter to survive. It was like a battle of the fittest. I learned at a young age if you couldn't protect yourself, well then you might not live to see another day."

"Wow, sounds like a rough place." Buffy knitted her brows.

"Well it sure wasn't no Sunnydale." Faith snickered.

"Well I guess I'm going to get some sleep. I'm beat." Buffy said yawning.

"Yeah, me too. Nite B." Faith said pulling off her tanktop, and shorts, and crawling into bed in her black, lacy undergarments.

"What are you doing?" Buffy looked at her.

"Well I usually sleep naked, but I doubt you'd be comfortable with that, so I'll have to settle." Faith said with a grin, before rolling over and pulling the blankets over her.

"Uh, okay, goodnite Faith." Buffy said flipping the light off, mainly to hide her blush, before getting into bed as well and drifting off to sleep.

PART SEVEN

Faith awoke to the loud sound of a trumpet playing. Ugh, she sleepily opened her eyes and stretched. She wanted to go out there, and throw a rock at the bastard playing the wake up call. She looked over to Buffy's bed, but the girl wasn't in it. Then she heard the bathroom door open, and a newly refreshed blonde stepped out of it. Faith looked over at the nearby alarm clock to see that it was just 8 am.

She looked back up the gorgeous girl, who looked like a million bucks this early in the morning. She was already dressed, wearing a pair of khaki shorts, and a simple white tank top, her hair was pulled up into bun, and her face was all natural. Wow, no makeup, and her face is still that of an angel.

"Mornin sleepy head." Buffy greeted the half awake brunette with a cheesy smile.

"Are you always this perky in the morning?" Faith groaned, rubbing her eyes.

"Nah, just sometimes." Buffy said with a cute little nose scrunch "You better get a move on, you heard our orders, we gotta be down for breakfast at 8:30 sharp."

"Yeah, yeah. I'm moving." Faith slowly climbed out of bed, giving Buffy a full view of her scantilly clad body.

"Okay." Buffy mumbled, turning away from her, and pretending to look for something in a bag.

Faith grabbed her bag, and headed in to take a quick shower. Twenty minutes later she returned to the room, fully clothed. Dawn had been nice enough to let her take some of the shorts she borrowed with her. She came back into the room, her wet hair in a ponytail, her face adorned with less makeup then usual. The dark eyeshadow, and lipstick were missing, only a simple spread of foundation was on, to try and cover up the bruise upon her cheek.

Buffy stared at the girl. She was quite attractive. If Faith wanted to, she could probably be popular. Well if she lost the mega bitch attitude. Buffy's eyes traveled up and down the girl's body with admiration, until finally resting on her full, pouty lips. Such sexy lips they were, except for the cut on her lower one. A mark that Buffy blamed herself for. She was wearing tight blue jean shorts, with a black top barely covering her ample breasts.

"See something you like B?" Faith winked, before laughing at the girl's embarassed expression.

"Just not used to seeing you without five layers of makeup F." Buffy said once she regained her composure.

"Whatever." Faith said dryly, pulling on her sneakers.

The two were lucky enough to make it down to the dining hall just in time. They walked through the line together, getting what looked like scrambled eggs and bacon. Once their friends spotted them both groups made their way over. Cordelia and Harmony pulled Buffy aside, as Willow, Xander and Spike practically cornered Faith.

"Buffy how are you? That freak hasn't tried anything on you has she?" Cordelia asked with a look of worry.

"What? No, I'm fine really. She's not that bad Cor, she helped me out yesterday. It's my fault she's stuck there with me." Buffy said actually defending Faith.

"Riley said she just went nutso and started wailing on him. He said you tried to help him, but she threw you down on the ground." Harmony said in her ditzy tone.

Buffy laughed dryly "That is the total opposite of what happened! Riley wouldn't let go of me. He was hurting me, and Faith stopped him, before he did anything drastic. I lied to the teachers about it, but now I wish I wouldn't of."

Both girls looked at Buffy as if she were lying "Yeah, okay."

"How are you Faith?" Willow asked.

"I'm fine Red, I've only been gone the night." Faith said.

"So does Buffy sleep naked?" An over eager Spike asked "Did you share a bed?"

Faith stared at him blankly "No, and no."

Xander had a far off look on his face "Well, we can still imagine it anyways."

"You guys are pathetic." Willow said with a sigh.

"Faith, Buffy, stop socializing and get to your table." Said the coach, giving them both a stern look.

"I'll catch you guys later." Faith said with a wave, as she headed over to the table in the far corner, away from all the others with Buffy just a few steps behind.

Faith sat down and Buffy took a seat across from her. Both were silent as they sat eating their meals. Faith had practically inhaled her whole breakfast, and downed two milks, while Buffy was still picking at her food. "You gonna eat that?" Faith asked grabbing a slice of bacon off of Buffy's plate.

"Well, I'm not now." Buffy gave her a look, to which Faith shrugged her shoulders and ate it "How can you eat so much and be so thin?" Buffy questioned.

"Good metabolism I guess." Faith said still chewing "You ain't one of those anorexic chics are you?"

Buffy laughed "No, I eat trust me. I just don't consider this real food. Now give me a gallon of cookie dough ice cream and I'll show you what I can do."

"Ahh, my kind of girl. Wonder if we can smuggle a couple gallons in?" Faith said smirking.

The bell chimed, signaling the end of breakfast. While the other campers would be heading off for a nature hike, Faith and Buffy were sent back to their cabin. They were prohibited to join in any of the group activites. They were told however, that if they were on their best behavior, they may be allowed an hour of whichever activity they choose, each day.

Mrs. Mulligan one of the teachers, had pulled the girls aside after breakfast and told them this. She said she would stop by the cabin later that afternoon, and go over some things with the girls. She was actually nice, Faith was sure if it was up to her, they wouldn't of been punished in the first place.

PART EIGHT

"Soo...." Buffy said flopping down on her bed, once they were back in the cabin.

"So what?" Faith asked, lighting up a smoke.

"So, what are we supposed to do now?" Buffy questioned her.

"I dunno, am I supposed to entertain you or something?" Faith asked, thinking of really entertaining things in the back of her mind.

"No, but surely we're not just going to sit here and stare at each other all day and night." Buffy said rolling her eyes.

"Well what do you suggest we do? We're not allowed out of this damn cabin til they tell us."

"Ohh, I got an idea." Buffy said hopping up and running over to the closet, Faith watched closely as the short girl reached for something on the top shelf, her shorts riding up the back of her legs more and more, each time she stretched.

"We got games!" Buffy yelled excitedly, walking over to Faith with a hand full of board games.

"Oh fuck that." Faith said throwing her hands up in the air.

"Oh come on, don't tell me you don't like games." Buffy said sitting down in the floor.

"I don't do games. Well at least not the kind where you're wearing clothing." Faith winked.

Buffy gave her a disgusted look "Gutter mind, much. Now come play with me Faith."

Faith gave her a wide grin "So you like the gutter huh?"

Buffy blushed "I didn't mean it like that..I ..meant..uh..just get your ass down here and let's play a board game!"

Faith couldn't stop her laughter, the girl was so damn cute when she was flustered "Ok, fine, but don't go telling anyone that I played freakin board games."

"Oh, Faith, you are just too damn cool to play games." Buffy said in a mocking voice, gaining a middle finger being flipped at her by Faith, who reluctantly took a seat in the floor with her.

"Ok, so we got monopoly."

"Too long." Faith shook her head.

"Yahtzee."

"Huh?"

"Scrabble."

"Involves too much thinking."

"Pictionary."

"Can't draw a straight line with a ruler."

"Twister."

Faith looked up suddenly interested "Now that I can do."

"Twister? But there's only two of us." Buffy said.

"So? We can spin as we move. Come on I haven't played that game in years!" Faith said way too excited at the possibility of her body parts, touching Buffy's.

"Well ok, but I warn you I'm pretty damn flexible. I used to be a cheerleader you know." Buffy said with pride.

~Oh God, did she actually just say flexible?~ "A cheerleader huh? Why am I not surprised."

"I want no cheerleading comments." Buffy said setting up the mat, and getting the spinner out. She felt a little weird playing twister with one other girl. After all she had heard all of Cordelia and Harmony's talk about how Faith was a total dyke. She didn't know if that was even true though.

"K, you go first." Faith said pointing to the spinner.

Buffy took her turn "Right leg on red."

Faith took her spin "Left leg, blue."

They continued on with the game, until Faith was in a very satisfying position. Buffy was bent over in front of her, while, she was practically pressed up against her back, with one leg between hers. She closed her eyes in ectasy for a moment. She could feel the soft skin of Buffy's back and legs pressed against her own skin.

From her spot she could smell the exotic aroma of Buffy's hair, and the sweet smell of vanilla on her skin. The same scent her room had. Faith was so lost in thought, that she did not realize her foot was slipping, until it was too late. She began to fall over, knocking Buffy over in the process.

Buffy tried to stop the crushing fall, turning herself over, but she wasn't able to get out of the way fast enough, and Faith landed on top of her. Oomph, Faith practically knocked the air of the little blonde.

Faith looked down at the girl's face just inches away from her own. She was about to say something, when Buffy burst out in laughter, causing Faith to laugh too. They were laughing so hard at their own silliness, that they didn't even notice their position.

"I....so...won." Buffy managed to get out between laughs.

"You cheated..I think you kicked my foot." Faith replied.

"No way. You lost fair and square buddy."

"Yeah, yeah." Faith said, now realizing she was actually in a much desired position on Buffy's body. Each time the girl laughed, her breasts pushed against Faith's, and she began to find that highly arousing. She jumped up off the girl suddenly, leaving Buffy laying there on her back, with a confused look.

Faith stalked over to the small desk and sat down, lighting up a cigarette, and taking a few quick puffs. She couldn't believe how turned on she just got, by mere body contact. "Faith, are you okay?" She heard Buffy ask, approaching her.

"Yeah I'm cool. Just needed a smoke after all that excersize." Faith joked.

"Smoking is bad for you, you know."

"Gotta die somehow." Faith shrugged.

"Well, gee that's a good way to look at things." Buffy said with a disbelieving look.

"That's me Miss Positive."

"So that was fun, what are we going to play now?" Buffy asked.

"I've had enough game playing for one day thank you." Faith casually replied.

Just then there was a knock at the door, and Faith hurried and put her cigarette out, in her makeshift ashtray, and hide it inside the desk drawer, as Buffy went to open the door. Mrs. Mulligan stood on the other side. "Hi girls, can I come in please?"

Buffy moved to let her in, and then went and stood beside of Faith, leaning against the back of her chair. The middle aged woman walked in, and stared at the twister mat on the floor. "Well I see you girls have found ways to entertain yourselves."

Both Buffy and Faith slightly blushed "Anyways, I just want to let the both of you know that if it were up to me, you wouldn't be here. As you know though, it was a decision all of the teachers on the trip had to make. I am allowed to let you girls have two hours of activity time a day, I talked them up from an hour."

"Thanks, we appreciate that." Said Buffy, with a gentle smile.

"Ok, so I got a list of activities here, for you girls. Take a look at it, and decide what you want to do each day, and give it back to me at lunch." The teacher said handing Buffy a piece of paper.

"Thanks, we will do that." Buffy replied.

After they showed the teacher out, Buffy plopped down on her bed, and began looking at their choices of activities. "Faith, come over here, so we can decide what to do."

Faith sat down beside her, and looked at the paper over her shoulder "Arts and crafts? Skip that shit. No way I am making macaroni picture frames."

Buffy giggled "What about horseback riding?"

"Think you can handle all that power between your thighs?" Faith asked, with a grin across her face.

"You are such a perv. Besides I used to ride horses all the time in LA." Buffy replied.

"Ok so we'll do that today. How about swimming tomorrow?"

"Sounds good to me, and umm ohh let's do a nature trail walk." Buffy said a hint of excitement in her voice.

"Ugh, walking? How is that supposed to be fun?" Faith groaned.

"Well it's not just a walk, it leads to a camping area, maybe they will let us camp out for one night?"

"Maybe, still not real excited here though B." Faith grumbled.

"Faith we are here in the middle of the woods. You can't truly experience nature until you camp out under the stars. It would be so much fun."

Faith saw the twinkle in Buffy's eyes, and it made her feel like breaking out into a full smile, but she contained herself, and with her usual look of indifference, she said "Alright then B. I'm down if they will let us."

"Ok, so our schedule is set then. We leave early the last day, so we won't be able to do anything else." Buffy said folding the sheet up with their checked activites, and slipping it into her pocket "So Faith, I'm curious, what is Boston like? I mean is it alot different from here?"

Faith let out a deep breathe, just thinking about Boston made all the bad memories come rushing back. She blinked her eyes rapidly, to stop the images from the past from entering her head "It was all city where I lived. I mean like hardcore. This is actually the first time I've been in the wilderness. California is the first time I've seen the ocean. All I seen where I lived was rundown buildings, hookers, and homeless guys on every street corner."

"Wow, I never thought Boston was that bad." Buffy sounded amazed.

"Not all of Boston is. Don't get me wrong, Boston is full of culture, and on the good side, there is plenty to see and experience. In my case however, I barely got to see that side. I lived in the projects. In a shithole apartment to be more specific."

Buffy noticed the way Faith's eye twitched when she made that last statement, and she could tell there was something on her mind "Faith is it true that your parents are dead?" Faith looked like a deer caught in headlights "I'm sorry Faith, that was rude. I shouldn't of asked you that." Buffy felt like crap the moment it came out of her mouth.

Faith snapped out of it, and realized Buffy didn't mean any harm in the question "It's ok B, I'm used to that question by now. My mom and stepfather are dead yes, that is why I am here. I don't know my real dad, so my aunt had to take me in."

"I'm so sorry Faith." Buffy said with a gentle voice placing a hand on Faith's leg.

"It's okay. You didn't know them, if you did, you might feel that they are better off now." Faith said, chewing on her bottom lip, a sign of her nervousness.

Buffy was kind of disturbed by the comment "But that was your mom Faith. I couldn't imagine my life without my mother."

"Yeah B, but your mom seems like a real nice lady. I bet she makes you dinner, and helps you with your homework. Heck she probally even hugs you and says she loves you." Faith said fighting back the tears that threatened to spill.

"Of course Faith, that's what mothers do." Buffy said, a bit confused as to what Faith was saying.

"My mom was a drug addict. She was always too strung out to cook dinner, or help me with anything. Hell, I don't think she even said she loved me since I was two years old." Faith began and then realized what she was saying, she didn't want Buffy to know about her life, she didn't want anyone to know.

Buffy noticed how Faith quit talking, and seemed to be in deep thought "Faith, it's okay. If you feel like talking, I am here. I can tell you have a lot of things bottled up inside of you, and you know sometimes it is better if you just let it all out."

"I don't want Queen C to have more ammo to use against me." Faith said defensively, as she went to get up, but Buffy wrapped her small hand around her arm, causing Faith to look down at her.

"Faith, anything you say to me is between me and you. I know how you think of me, but you can trust me. Besides, I am beginning to see the real side of Cordelia, and I don't really think we're going to be hanging out much anymore."

This got Faith's attention. She looked at Buffy who's hand still held onto her arm, in a firm yet gentle manner. "What? I thought you liked that crowd?"

Buffy nodded and chewed on her bottom lip "I did, but ok, when you told Willow about what happened with Riley did she believe you were telling the truth?"

"Of course she did." Faith replied.

"Well Cordelia didn't believe me. She believed what Riley told her. I guess Riley's a few steps higher on the social scale than I am. If she was as good of a friend as I thought, then she would of took my word for it."

"You are so much better than her B. I can tell you are a genuine person. You are really starting to change my opinion of you." Faith winked in a playful manner.

Buffy gently slapped her arm, with her free hand "Faith, I'm sorry you had to go through what you did."

She just wasn't going to give up until she heard the sob story Faith thought. What was strange is she wanted so badly to tell this girl all her dark secrets. Sitting there at that moment, she felt so comfortable. She wanted to share everything with her. Things she had not even told Xander or Willow, and without another thought she did. She told Buffy all about her life up until now. She told her about the horror she lived every day. About finding her mom having a seizure from drugs about once a week, and living in a rat infested apartment with drug dealers, and criminals coming in and out all the time. She was the first person who Faith had ever told about her step-dad beating and molesting her for years.

Faith told Buffy about how kids at school treated her because she was poor. She explained why she was so defensive, and how she had to fight to stay alive. She even told her about how she had casual sex with guys from her hood just to try and be able to feel something. By the time she was done talking, a good hour had passed, and Faith was crying. She didn't mean to and she felt ashamed that she was. She tried to hide her face, but Buffy had pulled her hands away, and wiped her tears with her fingers. She laid back on the bed, pulling Faith with her, and just held the girl.

Looking down at the sobbing girl, Buffy felt her heart break a little. To see a girl like Faith who is so presumably strong, and who doesn't care about anything, just breakdown like that, was heart wrenching. She would of never imagined that her life had been so rough. She let her own silent tears flow as she soothingly rubbed Faith's silky hair.

"You know you are the first person I've ever told about being raped." Faith said sniffling.

Buffy felt proud that Faith would trust her enough to tell her something of that stature "I will never say a word about it Faith. I swear to you."

"I believe you."

The two of them laid in silence until the bell sounded for lunch. Neither said a word about what happened, as they straightened themselves up, and headed down to eat. They dropped their list off to Mrs. Mulligan who said they were to be at the horse stables after lunch for their riding lesson.

PART NINE

The girls made their way over to where the horse stables were located after they had finished with lunch. They were met by an instructor who worked at the camp by the name of Ron. He was nice man in his late forties. He taught them how to saddle up their horses, which Buffy already knew.

Once on the horses, he led them up a pathway. Faith looked a bit frightened which Buffy found cute. The girl was full of surprises. She was fastly learning that Faith wasn't half as tough as she acted.

Buffy pulled her white horse up beside Faith's black one. "Scared?"

"Hell no." Faith said with a bit less venom as usual.

"You look like you are going to puke." Buffy giggled.

"Shut up. I never rode one of these things before." Faith said defensively.

"I'm just kidding ya Faithy." Buffy said gently "Loosen up a little, your knuckles are white, you are holding the reins so hard."

Faith did as she said and loosened her grip, they rode a bit farther and Faith was finally relaxing. She was finding out that she rather enjoyed this. It felt somewhat powerful to be riding a tamed beast "This is kinda cool."

"I told you." Buffy smiled, her eyes focused on the childlike expression on Faith's enchanting face.

Ron led them up to a gorgeous area overlooking a small waterfall in the middle of the forest. The area was flattened and about twenty yards of it was clear. Apparently this place was used for outdoor activites.

Ron informed them that Mrs. Mulligan would be letting them enjoy dinner in this spot this evening. Ron got out a blanket, and picnic basket he had strapped onto his horse, and told them they were to bring the horses back in two hours. With that he left them alone, and headed back to the stables.

"Wow, this was so cool of the teacher." Faith said happy to get out of the cabin for awhile.

"I know, how awesome is this?" Buffy beamed.

They had tied their horses up and spread the blanket out on the ground, taking a seat on it. They were silent for awhile, just breathing in the fresh air, and taking in the beautiful scenery. Faith had a million thoughts soaring through her head. She couldn't believe how she had opened up to Buffy, someone whom she barely knew.

She had told her things, she never imagined telling anyone. What surprised her most was Buffy's reaction. Buffy was so gentle and soothing. She held her and rubbed her hair. Nobody had ever held Faith like that before. Faith was actually happy she was stuck alone with Buffy for the rest of the trip. She was beginning to see the real her, and it made her begin to fall even farther for the fair haired beauty.

"What's on your mind?" Buffy asked, leaning against Faith's shoulder.

The warm contact brought Faith back into the now "Nothing really, just thinking what a cool chic you turned out to be."

"You ever doubted that?" Buffy said in mock disbelief.

Faith grinned "You had me wondering for a while there."

"Oh, but now I am cool in Faith's book? Wow, I feel so honored." She wiped at a nonexistent tear.

Faith nudged her, and Buffy toppled over on the blanket "Hey, watch it!" Said Buffy pushing Faith back, causing her to fall down onto her back.

"Oh that's it." Faith said, grabbing Buffy and pinning her on the ground. She straddled her waist, and grabbed her arms with one hand, while the other hand found her ribs, and began to tickle her relentlessly. Buffy couldn't stop laughing, and tears were forming in her eyes, as she tried to break free from the hold.

"Faith...stop..I..can't...take...it." She was saying in between rouring laughter.

"Say I'm the master." Faith grinned, as she continued her assault.

"I'm the master." Buffy managed to get out.

"Don't be a wise guy, or I'm going for the feet."

"Ok..ok..Faith..you are the master!"

"That's better." Faith said letting go of her arms, and getting off of her, but Buffy had different plans in mind, and quickly pulled Faith back down, reversing the positions, she however was unable to restrain both of Faith's arms.

"No fair." Buffy pouted, jutting out her bottom lip.

"Ok, that has got to be the cutest look I've ever seen." Faith said laughing.

"Don't laugh at me!" Buffy whined, attempting to tickle Faith's sides, but Faith grabbed her hands and held them "Ugh!"

"You give?" Faith asked, loosening her grip.

"Never." Buffy said, an evil gleam in her eyes. Although she had not said anything, she noticed the way Faith reacted to her body earlier when they toppled over during Twister. She figured if she wasn't strong enough to hold Faith down, she'd torture her another way.

"I'm not letting your arms go, until you say you give." Faith said, wondering how this small girl mounted on top of her, possibly thought she could one up her.

"Well, Faithy, I'm not getting off of you until you say it." Buffy said rolling her hips against Faith's pelvic bone, causing a subtle moan to escape the brunette's lips.

Faith had a wide eyed look. ~What is she playing at? Does she know I dig girls?~ "Just give up B."

"Nuh uh F." Buffy said adjusting her position so her right leg was situated between Faith's thighs, she leaned into the girl, who still held her hands, and with a little push her leg was rubbing against Faith, who's face turned red, and within a minute she let Buffy's hands go and said she gived.

Buffy smiled victoriously and got off of Faith, leaving her lying there momentarily stunned, and speechless. Buffy got the picnic basket, and got herself and Faith a sandwhich, and soda out. Faith whom had now sat back up, accepted the food without words. She was embarrassed, and more importantly highly aroused. If she hadn't got Buffy off of her quickly, she would of reacted.

"Something wrong Faith?" Buffy asked after a long stretch of silence.

"Huh? No nothing is wrong." Faith shrugged, finished off her sandwich and stretched out.

Buffy laid down beside of her and turned on her side to face her. "Can I ask you a personal question?"

"Well considering I told you things I've never told anyone I suppose so." Faith replied.

"Well..you see." Buffy hesitated "You know how rumours go right?" She looked at Faith who nodded her head "Ok well some people talk you know..and I was just wondering if it was true. I mean it's none of my business and I wouldn't think any different of you if it is true."

"B..stop babbling and ask me. You've gone into Willow mode damn." Faith laughed.

"Sorry." Buffy blushed "Faith do you uhh date girls?"

Faith grinned at the way Buffy asked her that, she sounded so cute. "Yeah I do B."

"Oh" Buffy wasn't sure what to say.

"So people know I dig girls huh?" Faith asked, looking Buffy in the eyes.

"Well you know how people gossip. I just wanted to know if it was true or not."

"Why you interested?" Faith asked with a straight face.

Buffy looked confused for a minute before Faith begin laughing "I'm just yankin your chain B."

"I know." Buffy laughed nervously.

"I hope it don't freak you out. I mean I told you about being with guys, I just left out the girl part because I didn't want you to be uncomfortable around me."

"Faith, I wouldn't be. I am actually really comfortable around you. It's kind of strange, I am beginning to feel like I've known you forever." Buffy said with a soft smile.

Faith's heart melted just a little more at that moment "I'm glad B, because I feel the same."

At that moment the guide showed back up, and informed them their time was up. So they packed up their things, and mounted their horses, and headed back to the camp. The ride back was a quiet one. Both of them had things on their mind. They were just sort of replaying the day's events in their heads. They had came a long way, since the day they met.

PART TEN

Buffy had took a shower once they arrived back to their cabin, and now Faith was in the bathroom taking one. Buffy laid on her bed, staring up at the roof, just thinking. She never would of expected to become friends with a girl like Faith.

Buffy felt like she could be her normal dorky self, and Faith would think no less of her. She didn't have to wear designer clothes, and talk about the latest trends in Cosmo to attract Faith's attention. As a matter of fact unlike Buffy's friends, whenever she said anything, Faith seemed to be listening and focused her attention solely on her. Buffy smiled, Faith was a big sweetie underneath it all.

The girl had an unbelievable life, according to the stories she had told her. She felt bad for her, but she knew Faith didn't want any pity. What the girl could use was a real friend, and someone she could trust, and count on.

Sure she had Willow and Xander now, but Buffy wanted to be one of those people as well. Faith had a certain vibe about her, and no matter how much Buffy tried to turn away from it, it seemed to keep pulling her in. She was actually happy to be where she was right now, and even if a teacher came and told them they could go back to their normal cabins, she would refuse.

Her trail of thoughts ended as Faith stepped out of the bathroom, covered in only a white towel. Buffy stared without thinking. Faith looked like a sex symbol in a movie. Her hair was wet, and drops of water, were gliding down between her ample breasts. She lifted her sleek leg and placed it on her bed, and bent over to apply some lotion to it. Buffy gaped as the towel moved upward, and she was staring at the back of Faith's tanned thighs. She watched in fasination as Faith's hands moved up and down her legs. Buffy felt like a heat wave had come over her. She had a tingling sensation in her lower region, and it caught her off guard.

Faith turned suddenly and Buffy pretended to be looking the other way. "Want some lotion B?" Faith asked, holding out the bottle "I see you got a little burnt today, might cool it off a bit."

Buffy looked at her red shoulders, and thought that wasn't all that needed cooled off. Ok, maybe it was sun poison or something, too much heat made her whacky sometimes. Yes, that was it. "Sure, it kinda burns."

Instead of handing the bottle to Buffy, Faith climbed up on the bed beside of her. "Turn over, and I'll put it on for you."

Buffy looked at the girl still wrapped in a towel "You don't have to do that Faith."

"Just roll over B, you can't reach your back. I ain't going to try anything." Faith said, afraid Buffy was freaking now that she knew her secret.

"Faith, I didn't think that anything like that." Buffy said, and then rolled over onto her stomach.

Faith moved and straddled Buffy's leg's, careful not to sit down fully, seeing as she was wearing no panties. "Lift your shirt up B."

Buffy did as instructed, and pulled her top over her head. Leaving her topless, with her bare breasts pressed into the mattress. She thought how odd this would look if someone were to come in right now. As Faith's soft hands rubbed against her skin, she didn't really care. The lotion cooled her sunburn down, but Faith rubbing her hands up and down her back, didn't help the the rest of her body from feeling like it was on fire.

Faith could die right now, and she'd be in Heaven. Underneath her was a half naked Buffy Summers. She closed her eyelids tight, as her hands moved about Buffy's back, and shoulders. She wanted to freeze this moment into her mind. She wanted to remember the feel of Buffy's warm skin against her own. A small moan escaped Buffy's lips, and Faith's eyes opened again. A smile spread across her face, happy at the fact she could cause this woman at least a moment of pleasure.

"God, that feels so good Faith." Buffy practically whimpered.

Faith felt her insides quiver. She had to push her thighs together, to try and stop the burning sensation for the little blonde. She wanted to just rip off her shorts, flip her over and make hot love to her. Wait, make love? She meant fuck. Yeah, she wanted to fuck her brains out. Faith fucks she doesn't make love.

"You're so tense B, let me get these knots out for you." Faith said, wanting to touch her as long as she possibly could.

"Mmm, thanks it's starting to feel so much better." Buffy sighed into her pillow.

"I aim to please." Faith said, and continued on.

After about ten more minutes of massaging Buffy's back, Faith realized the girl beneath her had fallen asleep. Faith leaned down, to see the girl's eyes closed, and her lips slightly parted. Her breath was coming in even intervals. Without thinking Faith brought the side of her hand to B's cheek, and stroked it. She was so beautiful.

Faith realized she could stare into her angelic face for eternity. She let her fingers run through her silky, blonde hair, and knew she had better stop now before Buffy was to wake up. It took all of her will power to get up, and back away from the sleeping beauty. She pulled a cover over the half naked girl, and walked away.

She threw herself down on her bed, and turned on her side, so she could stare at her face from a distance. It was much safer this way. If Faith sat and analyzed what she was feeling, she would go insane, because she knew this wasn't her normal lust. She did not want to think about how strongly she actually felt for Buffy. It scared her, and she wasn't one to get spooked easily.

Faith fell asleep watching Buffy. When she awoke it was past nightfall. Buffy was still sound asleep, and looked more peaceful than ever. Faith got up, and threw on a pair of jogging shorts, and a tank top. She pulled her hair back, lit up a cigarette, and quietly walked outside. She sat down on the ground and leaned her back against a tree. She took a deep breathe of the fresh air, and stared at the bright stars covering the darkened sky. For a moment in her life, she felt at peace.

Today had been one of the greatest days of her life. Being with Buffy made it hard for her to feel depressed. The girl was too damn chipper. Faith smiled when she thought of Buffy's cute giggle, and the sparkle in her green eyes when she smiled. The girl took her breathe away, she made her feel alive. She made her feel love. Wait, there was that word again. Surely she was not in love with Buffy Summers was she? She had not known the girl for that long, and besides Faith had never been in love. How would she know what is feels like?

It was far more than lust though. She would admit that to herself now. She knew this because she wasn't merely thinking about what it would be like to fuck her, but also thinking about how great it would be to kiss her sweet lips, and just be there for her. Geez, she did have it bad. She was turning into one of those mushy fuckers. What was next? Would she be writing poetry, and picking flowers? She quirked her eyebrow, finished her cigarette and just cleared her mind of all thoughts.

She had been sitting there in silence for an hour before she felt a presence beside of her. She knew who it was without even looking. She had began to sense Buffy whenever she was near. Odd? Yes, but it was kinda cool, and provided her with a feeling of warmth.

"What are you doing out here?" The cute blonde asked, sitting down beside her.

"Just relaxing, checking out the stars and all that shit." Faith replied, sending her a glance.

"Sorry for falling asleep on you. Your hands are magic." Buffy giggled.

"You have no idea twinkie." Faith winked, causing B's face to turn crimson.

"Gutter mind." Buffy shook her head with a smile.

"You have such a beautiful smile B. I swear it lights up the night more than the stars." Faith said without pause.

Buffy bent her head down to hide her blush "Well aren't you just being sweet tonight?"

"Shh, don't let that get out. It will ruin my image as a bitch." Faith joked.

"Well I don't think you are a bitch. You can't fool me Faithy. I see the real you."

"Oh yeah? So what is the real me then?" Faith questioned.

Buffy looked up into the chocolate eyes of the beautiful girl before her "You are someone who is sweet, and caring. A girl that likes to act tough, but deep down you are a pussycat." Faith rolled her eyes at this, but Buffy contiuned on. "You are a fighter, so strong, and you stand up for what you believe in, and don't take shit from anyone. Best of all, you are a good friend, someone who is honest, and true, and will always have your back when needed."

Faith almost wanted to cry, but she held it in. Buffy really thought all of those things about her? How could she see so many qualities within her, that she herself didn't even see. It felt nice to hear it though. "Thank you. I don't know why you believe that, but well just thank you."

Buffy reached out her hand, and took a hold of Faith's. "You need to see all the good qualities within yourself too Faith. I know you are hard on yourself, I can sense it. You are a beautiful, wonderful person, and you need to realize that."

"You are the one who is beautiful B. You are so ...so great. I am so honored to be your friend now. I wanted to get to know you from the first day I saw you. I can't explain why, but there was just something about you that drew me in." Faith said, feeling the warmth of Buffy's hand holding hers.

Buffy was beaming "You are the sweetest Faith." She smiled and caressed her hand "I am so happy to know you now."

Faith's heart was thumping. "We better get back inside, you got chill bumps going on B." She suggested, at a loss for words.

The two of them went back inside their lone cabin, and Buffy climbed back into bed and under the covers. She really was cold. Faith made way to her own bed, when a hand grabbed her arm. "Lay down with me Faithy." Buffy smiled up at her.

~Omg she wants me to lay down with her. Excited much? Yes, yes I am~ "Okay B." Faith climbed into the bed beside of her, and Buffy threw her blanket over her. Faith laid stock still, unsure of what to do.

"What's wrong Faith? You look like a deer caught in headlights." Buffy giggled at Faith's pained expression.

"Nothing's wrong B." Faith put on a clearly fake smile and Buffy sensed her being uncomfortable.

Deciding to fix that little issue, Buffy turned on her side so she was facing Faith. "You aren't uncomfortable are you?"

"No, I am plently comfortable B." Faith eased up and turned on her side as well "I think I got stiffed, your bed is way more comfy than mine."

Buffy smiled "Well we can share my bed then. I wouldn't want you to get a sore back or anything." ~What am I saying? Omg, Cheesy much.~

"Well aren't you just a sweetheart." Faith smiled, wanting nothing more than to sleep beside the beautiful girl.

Buffy reach over and turned the light out. Leaving the two of them, staring at each other in the dark. Buffy sighed at how dreamy Faith looked, with the moonlight shining down on her gorgeous face. What was happening to her? Buffy had always been about the guys, but something kept drawing her in more and more to Faith. It was freaking her out, but being around Faith gave her a good feeling inside. She chose to ignore her sensible side, and just go with what she was feeling.

"Goodnight Faith." Buffy said, leaning over and placing a kiss on the girl's warm cheek. With that she rolled over and closed her eyes, unable to wipe the smile off of her face.

"Night B." Faith managed to get out, touching her hand to the spot Buffy's lips had been on. She closed her eyes with a smile, and let the sandman take her away to dream land, where Buffy was hers.
