PART ELEVEN

Faith awoke to the most amazing feeling ever. She looked down to see Buffy snuggled up tightly in her arms. ~She must of moved over here in her sleep.~ Faith let her hands rub up and down the girl's back, and inhaled the scent of her shampoo, from her head that was pressed against her neck.

Faith felt like she could just die right now, she was already in Heaven. She ceased all thought for the moment when Buffy began to mumble something against her skin. She could feel her lips move against her neck, and it sent a shock of energy through her body.

She was about to roll away when she heard the faint murmor of her name. ~Is she dreaming about me?~ Faith smiled, but then diminished the thought. Buffy probably sensed her touching her and in her sleepy haze was going to tell her to get the fuck away. So Faith ever so gently, pushed the little blonde away, and was getting ready to get up.

"Faith?" Came the sleepy voice.

"Yeah B." Faith said quietly.

"Where are you going?" Buffy now opened her eyes and looked up at her.

"I umm was just going to get dressed." Faith said.

Buffy looked at the clock and then back to Faith "We still have an hour before breakfast, why don't you lay back down?"

Faith was a little shocked by the request, but she wasn't about to turn Buffy Summers invitation into her bed down. "Ok B, sure."

Buffy threw the cover back over Faith and cuddled up against her, yet again catching Faith by surprise. "You are so comfy Faithy." Buffy sighed and threw an arm over the girl.

Faith's breathing increased, and it took her a few moments to speak "Glad to be of service B."

They laid there in silence for a good twenty minutes. Both content to not move. Faith's mind was reeling. Was Buffy this way with all her friends? She didn't really see Cordelia as the snuggle type. It was not possible that Buffy liked her in a way other than friendship. Was it? No, there was no way. ~What was that?~ Faith felt Buffy's hand on her exposed stomach. Her fingers were lightly tracing circles on her skin. Faith closed her eyes tightly and bit her bottom lip at the sensations the mere touch was causing.

"Is something wrong Faith?" Buffy asked quietly.

"Nothing is wrong at all B. I was just thinking." Faith opened her eyes, and glanced at the girl still tracing patterns on her stomach.

"Whatcha thinking about?" Buffy questioned, laying her head on Faith's shoulder.

"You." It escaped Faith's lips before she could stop it.

Buffy smiled "What about me?"

Faith was visibly nervous. Being in such close proximity with Buffy was intoxicating. "Uh...just how wonderful you are, and how much I enjoy being around you."

"Aww Faithy, I feel the same way." Buffy gave her a small hug.

They laid that way until it was time to actually get up and get ready for breakfast. Both girls dressed and headed down to the dining hall. Faith caught a glimpse of Willow as she stood in line for her food. She smiled at her, and Willow waited till the teachers weren't looking and sublty slipped behind Faith in line.

"Hey you..how's everything going?" Willow asked.

"I gotta tell you..much better than expected." Faith said with a dimply smile.

"Oh yeah?" Willow asked excited to hear the news.

"Yeah...turns out Buffy ain't so bad after all. We're been having a lot of fun, and I'm really getting to know her." Faith said quietly so Buffy who was a few steps in front of her would not hear.

"Ohh...that is so great Faith. See I told you." Willow was giddy.

"Yeah...I'll tell you more later. I better get my ass to the prisoner section over there with B." Faith laughed.

"See ya later Faith, have fun." Willow waved as Faith headed towards the back of the room.

After breakfast was over the girls went back to their lone cabin. They had a couple hours to kill before they got their swimming time. Faith kicked her shoes off and laid down on her bed. Buffy wasn't about to let her take a nap though. She jumped on top of her and startled her.

"What the hell B?" Faith looked up at her.

"You can't go to sleep, cuz you have to entertain me." Buffy smiled and stuck her tongue out at Faith.

~Mmm, Buffy's tongue. It looks nice, and I bet it is talented.~ "Exactly how am I supposed to entertain you?" She asked with a raised brow.

"I dunno, I was hoping you could come up with that part."

"Well I can think of a few things, that would be quite entertaining." Faith said with a grin.

"You are so bad Faith." Buffy playfully punched her arm.

"Hey you left it up to me, and you know where my mind tends to roam."

"Umm hmm, now try thinking of something non sexual." Buffy said.

"Err, sorry I am blank." Faith said with a serious expression.

"Fine then, we can play cards." Buffy said climbing off of Faith and retrieving a set of cards from the closet.

"Didn't we have this game discussion once before?" Faith asked.

"Well you had your chance to pick something, so now we do it my way." Buffy said matter of factly.

"Whatever B, we're playing poker then, not some lame ass go fish." Faith said climbing down to the floor to join her roomie.

"Ok, and before you bring it up, no strip poker." Buffy said as she began shuffling the cards.

Faith grinned "Get outta my head B."

Part TWELVE

The girls made their way to the lake to enjoy their swimming time. The place was desserted except for the two teachers who sat a few yards away, keeping an eye on them. Faith didn't mind at all. She rather enjoyed this alone time with Buffy.

She felt she would be rather sad when it had to end. She looked at the Goddess beside of her, and smiled. Buffy was wading into the deeper waters, with Faith in tow. Her body was so perfect. Faith felt that Buffy should just give up on clothes, and wear a bikini every day.

Buffy playfully splashed Faith, and the water fight was on. They were giggling and splashing each other like crazy. Faith felt like a normal kid for once. All of this was a new experience for her. It was like a vacation from life. She knew at this moment, she would let go of her past for now, and just enjoy each day she got to spend with Buffy. When this trip was over, she knew it'd be back to her normal life, and she had a feeling no matter what Buffy said, when they got back to school things would be different again.

Once the water fight finally subsided, Faith made her way to the slide. Buffy who wasn't a fan of heights stayed below to watch her. She gazed upon Faith doing some silly dance at the top of the ladder. She smiled and sighed at the same time.

Faith was something else. She was so undeniably beautiful, and full of life. What was happening here? Buffy felt as if some force of nature kept pulling her farther and farther into Faith. She felt all her barriers breaking down, and she felt like she was for once letting go, and living freely. Faith was bringing out a different side of her. She liked it.

Faith came down the slide at lightening speed, and made a huge splash. She dissappeared underneath the water, and Buffy was left looking around for her. She didn't have to look long, as she felt a hand grab her leg. She let out a shriek as Faith pulled her under. When they both rose back to the surface Buffy had to catch her breath.

"You are such a butt head." She said gasping for air.

"Aww, such mean words." Faith pouted.

Buffy smiled at such a cute expression "You are such a goober."

"Girls time is up." One of the teachers shouted from the shore.

"Guess it's back to our cell." Faith joked as the two swam to the shore.

*****

After swimming the girls took a shower, and went to lunch. It was early evening now as they sat bored in their cabin. They were running out of ways to entertain theirselves. There wasn't much to do out here, that was for sure. Buffy sat reading some magazine, and Faith laid there listening to some jams on her headphones. Buffy kept sneaking glances at the girl. She was really into the song apparently, as she was bobbing her head, and tapping her feet. It was mildly amusing.

Buffy couldn't resist the urge any longer. She threw the magazine down and made her way over to Faith. Lifting up one side of her earphones she whispered "Must be a good song eh?"

Faith turned the headphones off "It was until you interrupted it."

"I'm hurt, I thought I was more important than some song." Buffy put on her best sad look.

"Oh don't give me the sad eyes missy!" Faith grabbed her and pulled her down beside of her "Now what was so important?"

"Nothing, I was just bored." Buffy said.

"Using me to get rid of your boredom, I see how it is." Faith joked.

"I promise I won't make you play any games. Let's just talk." Buffy said sliding closer to Faith.

"Umm okay, what do you wanna talk about?" She asked.

"Anything." Buffy replied turning on her side and throwing a arm across Faith's stomach.

~Breathe Faith breathe~ "What was it like in LA?" Faith asked, searching for any words to keep her mind off of the closeness.

"LA is great. There's so much to do there. I miss all of the stores, and boutiques they had. The beaches were fun too, they were alot bigger then the one here in Sunnydale." Buffy spoke remembering the sights she used to enjoy.

"I bet you was miss popular huh? Being a cheerleader and all." Faith smirked.

Buffy gave her the evil eye, then laughed "I was popular actually. I was always in the school pagents, and on the homecoming court. I totally lived for cheerleading back then."

"So why don't you cheer anymore? " Faith was curious.

"I don't know. I think maybe I just grew out of it. When I first moved here, I felt like an outsider. I seen how snobby the cheerleaders acted, and it made me take a long hard look at myself. I thought geez was I that shallow? I realized that maybe I was, and I wanted to get away from all that." Buffy sighed.

"Yet you became best buds with Cordelia? If you look up shallow in the dictionary, I am pretty damn sure her face would be next to it."

Buffy smiled, Faith made her smile a lot "I know you don't like Cordy, but she was nice to me. She made me popular, and not just a nobody. In LA I had so many friends, and then I had none. I just wanted to have a social life, and she helped me. She's not as horrid as everyone thinks."

Faith sat quiet for a moment. Buffy was still sticking up for the girl. She knew what this meant. If her suspisions were right, Buffy would be friends with Cordelia again after this little trip was over. Could she really blame her though?

Buffy put way top much emphasis on being popular. She would never want to hang around with someone like Faith once all this was over. Oh well, Faith would live for the moment, and enjoy Buffy's company while she had it.

"You're awful quiet over there." Buffy said picking Faith's arm up and pretending to check for a pulse "Why yes doctor she is still alive."

Faith looked at Buffy and wondered if she felt her pulse quicken. "Sorry I tend to drift off into my own little world at times."

"Umm hmm I've noticed." Buffy said with a small smile playing on her lips "So you ready for our big camping trip tomorrow?"

"Totally. I think it will be wicked cool." Faith said looking at Buffy.

Buffy looked at her a little surprised "Well miss bad ass, you are actually looking forward to camping out with me?"

"Keyword there is You B, I'd be happy doing anything with you." Faith said sincerely.

Buffy was beaming inside, and couldn't refrain herself from hugging the lovely girl beside of her "You're such a sweetie."

"You are the sweet one B. Gives me a toothache just looking at ya." Faith winked.

Buffy couldn't help but to giggle "Smooth Faith, very smooth."

The girls laid there in silence until they eventually drifted off to sleep. Their bodies side by side, and their minds filled with similiar dreams. Both excited about the night out in the wilderness alone together, and wondering what would become of this new found friendship once this trip was over.

Part THIRTEEN

Faith and Buffy headed down the long, and winding trail. According to their map after walking for about twenty minutes this way, they would come to a upward slope. Once they traveled up the small mountain, they would head East and arrive at the camping area. It was a bit of a travel to get there, but both were excited to finally get to truly experience nature, and not be cramped up in the little cabin.

The morning had been a good one. Buffy had awoke first and found herself entangled with Faith. They had fell asleep talking the night before. Buffy hadn't woke Faith up immediantly, but just laid beside of her, and found herself remembering every feature of her gorgeous face.

Faith was so different, than Buffy had thought at first. She was so unique, and strong. Faith was kind to her, and didn't seek anything in return. She was growing very fond of the girl, too fond in fact. That's the part that scared her the most.

"Hey B, we're at the hill now." Faith said bringing Buffy into the now.

"Wow bigger than I thought." Buffy stated, looking up at the steep hill before her "I hope I can make it up there, without tumbling down to the bottom."

"You're an ex cheerleader, you should be good at tumbling." Faith remarked with a toothy grin.

"You're an ass, you know that right?" Buffy said, rolling her eyes.

"I know that." Faith merely said and began leading the way upwards "Here take my hand." She said offering Buffy her hand.

Buffy grabbed her hand, and could of swore she felt a jolt of electricty shoot through her nervous system. She shook it off, and let Faith lead her into the wilderness. Once they finally made it up the mountain, the view seemed to totally change.

They finally felt as if they were actually in the forrest. The area was surrounding by towering green trees, and they could see the whole valley below from where they stood at the edge.

"This so rocks." Faith commented with one of her childlike expressions Buffy found simply adorable.

"Yes it does." Buffy said squeezing Faith's hand that she was still holding.

"Alright let's find the camping area now." Faith said, walking towards the guided directions, pulling Buffy along with her.

*****

They had finally arrived at their designated camping area. It was simply beautiful. There was a small pond with a fresh water stream cascading down like a waterfall. There was a clearing where they set up their tent, surrounded by trees, and wildflowers. The place felt so serene, and relaxing.

"This is so wonderful." Buffy said as they finished setting everything up "I've never seen such a beautiful place before."

"I know, I'm glad you talked me into doing this." Faith said looking around.

"You hungry?" Buffy asked, pulling out the cooler and basket of food.

"Starved." Faith simply said, reaching out to grab a bag of chips.

"I figured as much." Buffy laughed, taking a drink of water.

"So what's on the agenda this evening B?" Faith asked with a mouthful of food.

"Well I figured once it starts getting dark we can build a campfire, and roast marshmallows, and just relax." Buffy said pointing to the already built fire pit.

"Sounds like a plan to me." Faith smiled, loving the idea of sitting by the open fire with a beautiful girl.

"For right now we're playing tag, and guess what." Buffy hopped to her feet, and pushed the sitting Faith over onto the ground "You're it!" She squeeled before running off.

"Oh that's it blondie, you are going down." Faith said, pulling herself up from the ground, and chasing after her.

When she finally caught the blonde, she pulled her down to the ground, and fell on top of her in the process. "We gotta stop meeting like this." Faith playfully said looking down at her counterpart.

"If I am correct, you seem to be the one who always ends up on top of me." Buffy said raising an eyebrow, then noticing the change in Faith's face, she quickly added "Not that I am complaining."

This caught Faith's attention. Did Buffy enjoy being this close to Faith? "Oh ya?" is all she managed to ask.

"I've never asked you to get off have I?" Buffy asked back, enjoying the flirting...wait flirting? Oh my God she was flirting with a girl..and she liked it!

"I'd get off for you anytime B." Faith said with a sexy smirk.

Buffy blushed crimson red. The double meaning hit home as intended. Faith was good at this sexual banter stuff. Buffy wasn't going to let her win though. She rolled the girl off of her, and began walking away. She turned around to see Faith sitting there, looking as if she was kicking herself for saying the wrong thing. "Hey Faith." When the girl looked at her Buffy added with a sexy grin "Don't make promises you can't keep."

Faith just looked at her wide eyed, as the girl turned back around and walked over to the camping gear. ~Did she just say that? Ok I am dreaming right now.~ Faith pinched her arm ~Ouch, ok that hurt. So maybe I am awake. It was just a joke then. Don't get yourself so worked up Faith sheesh.~ Faith laughed at her arguement with her internal self.

PART 14

Note: Song Lyrics belong to Melissa Ferrick-The Stranger.

Nightfall had arrived and the girls had started up a fire. After their little word exchange earlier, neither girl had mentioned it again. It was their last night here, and they just wanted to enjoy it without being uncomfortable. They had spent the afternoon skipping rocks on the pond, playing frisbee, and just talking and enjoying each others company. Neither one of them had ever expected to get this close to one another. They had never imagined that they would build a bond between the two of them, that they shared with no other.

They didn't come into this situation expecting to become friends, but they had. Things had changed, and feelings were developing. Neither of them were totally sure on what level these feelings were exactly. All they knew was they were going to make the most of their time together, and whatever happened afterward, happened.

"It's so quiet here." Buffy stated as they sat by the fire, holding marshmallows on a stick against the flames.

"Yeah it is. I don't remember anything ever being this quiet before. Honestly it's starting to freak me out." Faith laughed, looking around pretending to be paranoid.

"Why don't you turn some music on then. You got speakers for your headphones don't ya?" Buffy asked, hoping for something to fill the silence in between their words.

"Good idea. Be right back." Faith said throwing her stick down, and heading inside the tent. She returned with the headphones, hooking the tiny speakers into it and popping in a cd. "There we go."

Loud screaming came blasting through the speakers, along with a heavy guitar riff. Buffy scrunched her nose up in distaste. "Don't you have anything a little less violent?"

Faith rolled her eyes "I'm sorry but I'm fresh out of Britney Spears. If you find her tell her I wouldn't mind getting a piece of that though."

Buffy shook her head, laughing "I swear you remind me of a guy sometimes."

Faith shrugged "Ok here's something a little lighter for ya." She said putting in a Melissa Ferrick cd.

The sounds of an acoustic guitar, and a melodic voice rang through the air "That is much better, thank you." Buffy smiled.

Both of them sat silently, just listening to the song, a song Faith felt she could relate to. It was kind of ironic actually. She really focused on what the lyrics were saying, as she got lost in deep thought.

	waiting wanting
to see you in my eyes
	finding feelings
that I thought were buried inside

because I never thought that I
	could ever love like this
	but you have
	proven me wrong

you the stranger who took a chance
held me at a distance so I could see myself
so thank you for everything you gave without knowing
and thank you for letting me fall in love
	without withholding
	without withholding

Buffy stared at Faith out of the corner of her eye. She seemed to really be feeling the music. She was softly rocking back and forth, and staring out into the sky above. Buffy rose and reach out her hand to Faith. A silent invitation to dance with her under the stars. Faith took her hand, and they began to slow dance. Faith's hands held onto Buffy's waist, as Buffy's arms wrapped around her neck. They moved slowly with the beat.

	so let me in now
	I am ready to move
and here comes fear and resistance from you
and for once I am willing and now what I’ve got to
	wait?

these lessons are everywhere in my life
you know I never waited for anyone and I was always
	right
but ya now I give up I surrender
	I would wait for you...forever

you the stranger who took a chance
held me at a distance so I could see myself
so thank you for everything you gave without knowing
and thank you for letting me fall in love with you
	without withholding
	without withholding

They looked into each other's eyes briefly, before Buffy placed her head on her shoulders. They swayed in time with the music, their bodies moving closer together. Faith could feel Buffy's warm breath against her skin, and she closed her eyes and reeled in the sensations that the beautiful blonde was causing.

so come on and test me
	go on and try it
because I know that I fit perfectly inside you
and to deny this love would be to deny your heart
and you’re going be the one who breaks it
baby if you choose to walk

you the stranger who took a chance
held me at a distance so I could see myself
so thank you for everything you gave without knowing
and thank you for letting me fall in love
you the stranger who took a chance
held me at a distance so I could see myself
so thank you for everything you gave without knowing
and thank you for letting me fall in love
	without withholding
	without withholding

The song came to an end all to soon, and they stood still in the same position, as silence once again filled the air. The only sound now was that of their breathing. Both were reluctant to move. Slowly Buffy pulled her her head away from Faith's neck, and let her arms fall down to her sides. Faith's hands still held onto Buffy's waist. She was reluctant to let go, but slowly she managed to remove them.

They stared into each other's eyes. In that one moment, something had changed. They had both felt it. Faith's hand was shaking nervously as she placed it against Buffy's warm cheek. Softly she let her palm run down the side of it. Buffy closed her eyes, her long lashes fluttering in the night. She reopened them and once again found herself staring into deep brown eyes. She was lost in the moment, and all she wanted right now was to feel Faith's lucious lips against hers. "Faith?" She said rather huskily.

"Yes?" Faith said softly, staring into those emerald jewels.

"Are you ever going to kiss me?" Buffy asked sweetly.

Faith was taken back by the question, but she wasn't going to let this moment pass her by. She leaned in slowly, and pressed her lips against Buffy's. They both closed their eyes and reveled in the feelings that swept through them. Buffy's arms once again wrapped around Faith's neck, as Faith pulled her closer into her. She let her tongue run lightly over Buffy's lips, asking for entrance. Buffy parted her lips, and invited her in. Faith let her tongue delve into Buffy's delicious mouth. She explored and let herself memorize every inch of it. She was pleasantly surprised to feel Buffy's tongue against her own.

What started out as a soft kiss was becoming more fevered. Faith's hand left Buffy's cheek, and her arms wrapped around her waist. Buffy's fingers became entangled in Faith's dark hair. They ravaged each other's mouths. An intense spark had ignited between them, and both of their bodies were burning hotter than the fire beside of them. They couldn't get enough of each other, and ached for more.

...to be continued...
