PART 11

The fighters all dropped low, instantly knowing that they had fallen into a trap.

Their eyes scanned the darkness, catching briefly the shapes of the multiple Camhrac clinging to and crawling along the walls and floor of the tunnel that they found themselves in. Those who had them raised their swords. The demons may not have a weakness toward sharpened steel, but it didn't mean that they couldn't die from it. Enough damage to the central nervous system would surely mean a dead demon, nonetheless.

Buffy dropped low, swinging her sword at the legs of the closest creature that charged forward. The blade hit its shins and it tripped forward, snarling its anger. She twirled the double-edged sword in her hand and plunged it into the demon's chest. The beast trembled roughly in her grip and finally gave up its life.

*****

Faith slashed diagonally across her opponent's chest, felling it to the ground. The creature's scream was no more than a Banshee's abominable wail; it's sound causing the dark Slayer's hands to fly to her ears. Faith tried to shake it off as she watched the beast quickly scurry to its feet again and lunge for her. Skillfully she dodged and slashed out at the thing again, striking its back deeply.

It's animalistic instincts taking over, it began to crawl slowly across the ground in an effort to escape. Faith's first response was to move in and finish it off, but she didn't have the opportunity as to the fact that she had to duck her next attacker.

*****

Willow drew her hand back, her palm open. "Exiamus!!" she yelled, sending the ball of bluish energy that had formed in her open hand into a grouping of advancing creatures. Three were hit, sending them careening back into a far tunnel wall. Knowing what she did of the creatures, she knew that fire or ice spells were of no use in destroying them. So she used only spells that caused displacement or physical force. The three monstrous abnormalities hit the tunnel wall with force, but they recovered quickly only to be struck by a continuation of the same spell that knocked them back again, leaving them motionless on the ground. Willow didn't know if they were unconscious or dead, but she knew the severity of their ambush and continued to cast in spite of the oncoming demons.

*****

The vampiric fighters were just as skilled as anyone suspected, blocking and returning attack from the demons with equal fervor. The band was obviously very skilled.

The large vampire, Hammer, struck with sufficient force to kill a mammoth. Every blow dealt a death strike, his axe penetrating deeply and rending flesh from flesh. In the middle of one of his deadly strikes he was jumped from behind and knocked to the ground by one of the faster Camhrac. The hugely muscled vampire struggled in the demon's grasp and felt his leg being bitten by another. The creature took a large hunk out of his thigh before Hammer swung his arm down and smashed it away with the business end of his axe.

The blade caught the side of the offending creature's head and split bone and brain. It dropped dead at the blow. Several other of the demonic hybrids began to run at the sight of one of their comrades being slain so easily. Their instincts being what they were, the first thought they had was to run at the sight of such a predator.

*****

When the battle was done, the Slayers, witch, and vampires stood and regained themselves.

"You ok B?" Faith asked, catching her breath and surveying her lover.

"Yeah." Buffy said, looking over everyone. "All accounted for?"

The group looked around, surveying what damage had been done and if there were any casualties. The answers came positive from all around.

"Thank God." The blonde said. "Well I think we know the general area to look." She tried not to let the sarcasm in her voice ring as much as it did.

"Damn straight." Faith said, echoing her sentiment.

Buffy looked around at her fellow fighters. "What do you think? Follow or regroup?"

The vampires sighed heavily. "Regroup." Hammer said, the vampires obviously less quick to recover than the Slayers. "We meet back here tomorrow?"

"Yeah." Faith said. "That'd be good." She dropped her sword and moved to Buffy's side.

"I'm getting a real bad feeling about this, B.. " the dark haired girl said.

"Me too baby." She said as she watched the vampires leave. "Me too."

*****

"Just lay down.. " Faith said as she pulled the sheets up over her girlfriend. "You need your rest."

"I can't sleep." Buffy said, feeling her lover's arms around her.

"But you still need your rest, so settle down." The dark Slayer said, feeling Buffy relax under her touch. They both needed to be at 100 percent if they were to face what lay before them. Buffy closed her eyes and eventually nodded off.

*Still so beautiful* Faith thought, looking down at her sleeping lover. *She looks so weak and vulnerable while she's sleeping.* Although she knew that it was far from the truth.

The brunette wracked her brain with possible scenarios.

*In need to talk to Melissa again* she thought. I'll take care of it, B. Don't worry.

PART 12

Buffy awoke slowly, her eyes fluttering open and feeling Faith's strong arms around her.

So much had happened. The battle last night, the unsure pact that they had with the vamps. It was a blessing that she had gotten any sleep at all. She had been just so exhausted...

Thankfully the black poster board they had bought and used to cover the windows had barely let any light in. The room was sparsely illuminated, as she slowly untangled herself from her best friend.. her lover.

Bathroom, she thought. Bladder is killing me!

She went to the bathroom and did her business, sitting on the toilet seat and staring at the reflection across from her.

"What are you looking at?" The blonde said to her reflection.

*****

"I'm looking at you, sexy." Faith said, startling Buffy and alerting the blonde to her presence. She looked to her right, to find her girlfriend smiling and staring at her, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed.

"Hey you."

"Hey gorgeous." The brunette smiled as she walked the few steps and kissed the sitting blonde, still in mid-business.

Buffy couldn't help herself but to watch over every movement that her lover made, responding accordingly to both her own and to the brunette Slayer's motions.

"You really know how to wake a girl." Buffy said between kisses.

"Yeah well.. I try to do my best." The brunette kissed lower, capturing the earlobe and collarbone. "Finish what you got going here, shower, and then come see me." The dark Slayer looked over her shoulder at her girlfriend and winked. Then she walked to their bed.

*****

Happily, Buffy found her lover sitting up in bed. Faith blew her another kiss when she entered the room. "Come here." She commanded, pointing to the floor beside their bed.

Buffy knew what this meant. Faith was in the mood to be dominant. Despite all of her previous experiences, Buffy had received most of her sexual knowledge from Faith. And this was a particular fetish that occasionally, just slightly, rose in the brunette. When she had mentioned it, Buffy had said she was willing to try anything once. Thus a princess was born; that's what Faith liked to call her, showing that as much as she may like to play tough, the brunette worshipped the little blonde like no other.

The brunette just grinned at her as she approached. Slowly, she got down on all fours and crawled to the side of the bed.

"Good girl." Faith said, smiling down at the blonde who moved into her arms. They kissed long and deep, their hands running long languid strokes over each other's naked bodies. Their mouths explored each other with soft gentle kisses, which had been experienced many times before, but strangely always felt like the first time.

Pulling away, the brunette looked at her. "You know the position." Her sexy grin was too much to resist.

"Yeah, I do." Buffy said, moving slowly to lay prone over Faith's lap. She smiled back at her lovely girlfriend. Faith gave her a wink and a smile, as she lovingly caressed Buffy's pert little butt cheeks.

In ways, Buffy both loved and hated this game. She couldn't decide which more. Nah.. she loved it more. The little blonde hated to be bossed around, but for some reason loved it from Faith. She looked back into the eyes of the girl who held her body close on her lap and melted.

It's because I love that girl, she thought. She's my equal; the Yin to my Yang.. or whatever. She was never really clear on that.

Buffy's head shot up at the first slapping contact with her ass. She didn't make a sound, but the reverberation from Faith's open hand sent vibrations straight to her center. She gasped heavily and gripped the sheets as her girlfriend continued to redden each cheek.

10 swats, each cheek, as was the normal.

"Position two.." Faith said flatly, smiling as Buffy crawled off her lap and lay on her stomach. The brunette smiled as she moved into position over her prone girl and admiring Buffy's reddened butt. She lovingly and gently kissed every inch of Buffy's ass, kissing every red spot all better.

Buffy felt the warmth beginning to spread in her, knowing what was coming soon. The sexual fever spread through her body, from her fingers to her toes as she felt her lover's mouth against her body. Her hips and buttocks tipped lightly at every sweet contact from the dark Slayer's tongue. It took several minutes and several moans and begs for Faith to finish, and the brunette brought Buffy to the point of absolute ecstasy without giving her release.

"You've been such a good girl." Faith said, lifting her head "Third position.."

Buffy smiled, remembering their spoken pact. `Me in battle, you in the bedroom.' In the bedroom she belonged to Faith. Plain and simple. She flopped onto her back and stared up at her beautiful girlfriend.

Faith moved her face down between Buffy's spread legs, kissing and licking at each thigh. Her mouth moved closer to the blonde Slayer's center. She kissed lightly at the opening that begged penetration, lapping lightly and teasing. The older girl moaned at the contact, her body gyrating at the first contact of Faith's mouth on her needing sex.

Faith kissed her need gently. Such a gentle kiss that Buffy felt she was about to cry. Then, penetrating the blonde with her tongue and feeling the growing wetness in her mouth. The brunette pressed her face harder between Buffy's legs, feeling her head encircled by the legs of the lovely young girl who dare not move another muscle of her body.

Buffy laid her head back and gasped as the dark Slayer's tongue moved slowly up her sex, settling slowly on her center. Faith slowly licked the small pearl back and forth, feeling her girlfriend's hips gyrate slightly at every motion over it. Wrapping her arms around each of Buffy's thighs she continued to run over and over her sweetness with her mouth.

Faith loved the sounds that she could elicit from her lover; Buffy's moans raining like music over her ears as her body spiraled out of control.

*****

Later that day-

"I expected you to be here." Faith said, not looking back. She sat at the very same bench as the night before. She had decided on much heavier weaponry this time, considering the Camhrac's uncanny ability to take so much damage. She was sharpening a large axe, which under normal circumstances, would be to heavy for a woman to wield. But Faith was a Slayer.

"How did you know?" the small voice came from behind her. Faith smiled, setting the axe down and turning to kneel.

"I have a good feel for people." Faith said, kneeling in front of the young vampire to be face to face with her. "I wanted to talk to you again. I figured you'd prolly know."

"I did." Melissa said, smiling back and kissing Faith's cheek smiling.

"I need to know more. We all need to know more about Marcus." Faith said, grinning back. Something the dark Slayer had always possessed was a feel for bullshit or con jobs. She didn't sense any of that in this small, but indeed old, vampire. It was as if the soul she had possessed in life was so pure, that the demon that entered the body while being made wasn't able to take control. Perhaps it was even forced away.

This vampire possessed the same innocence and yearning for good, that she had in life.

"Ok." Faith started. "Why doesn't Darius know, what's going on?"

Melissa looked down. "Darius is very reclusive. He hardly talks to anyone except Marcus. I didn't know myself until just a few weeks ago. But I'm convinced that he's been planning this for over a hundred years. Darius won't listen to anyone. Not even me."

"And why're you tellin' me?" the brunette asked honestly.

The tiny girl reached up and brushed a small lock of hair that had fallen on Faith's face. "Because I don't want to see you die."

Faith looked at her with a quizzical gaze. "Why not? I'm a Slayer for God's sake."

"I don't hate Slayers." She said. "Not like they hate vampires. I cannot help what I was made into. And there is one thing that I love to feel from people. Vampires or humans."

"What's that?"

"True love. That is what you and Buffy have. Just being around you makes me feel.. " she looked down. "..like I felt with both of my mommies."

Faith felt a small tear start to form in her eyes and she brought the small vampire into a warm embrace, which was returned tightly.

"We'll be careful." Faith said. "Very careful."

PART 13

"Do I have competition?" Buffy asked.

The brunette and the small vampire looked up and smiled at the petite blonde who leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. A smile broadened her lovely features.

"Hey B." Faith grinned and motioned for her girlfriend to come closer. "This is Melissa."

Buffy smiled and took the small vampire's hand. "Nice to meet you beautiful."

Buffy had heard all about Melissa, from Faith. Not as much as to make Buffy jealous, for real. But to make clear what the young looking vampire was capable of. She knelt next to Melissa as well and kissed her on the cheek.

The small vampire grinned. "Hello Buffy."

"Any friend of Faith's is a friend of mine." She smiled, bringing the small vampire into a hug as well.

Pulling back, the blonde Slayer looked over the small creature before her. Suprisingly, she saw the same thing that Faith had seen. A wise woman, trapped in the body of a little girl. Unconsciously, the blonde smiled at the young girl, at least in appearance.

"Just so we are all on the same page, tell me what you know about Marcus, ok?" Buffy asked.

The smallest blonde answered. "From what I know, he's a snake." She said bluntly, taking both Buffy and Faith off guard. "There was a time when I was Darius' sole advisor. I had been his progeny for over 600 years. To my knowledge I am one of the oldest surviving members of his original bloodline." The small blonde looked down.

"And?" Buffy and Faith both asked at the same time, hoping to get more details than they had already been given.

"Marcus was one of my own. My own blood." Melissa admitted.

*****

Melissa's POV-

I was very young then. Just over a hundred in years.

My vampire mommy had died in a village attack. I remember being dragged away by the other members of our clan, Darius included, while I watched the stake being driven through her heart by the human hunters. Never in my life or unlife had I experienced such pain.

I had hardly remembered my human mother. From what I had been told, I was barely more than 7 when I was made. As far back as I could remember, I was called nothing more than `child' and my vampire mother's voice was the only one that spoke up for me.

Even when I got older and wiser, hardly any of the clan cared for me except for Darius. In the deepest recesses of my mind I imagined that they were jealous. Jealous of the small vampire that held so much sway in Darius' rulings and decisions. Little did I know that I was totally right.

Then came Marcus.

Marcus was one of my early experiments. An experiment in the art of re-creating myself.

However, I failed. I had failed in one of the few guidelines that our kind holds. "May we never bring to the flock, that which is not good for the flock."

Marcus has been a Vampire for over four hundred years, and at this point, he is my responsibility. I understand that.

However.. sometimes.. we all regret the things that we have brought into this world. The evil that we, although unknowingly, have wrought.

That night was one of those times.

*****

"I opened up my heart to Marcus." The small blonde said, lowering and shaking her head. "That was a mistake. "

Buffy reached up and took her hand gently as the small blonde looked down. "Melissa.. We all make mistakes in judgment. You shouldn't blame yourself for what he is doing now."

With that statement, there was a small bit of the introspection that Faith had been waiting for in her blonde lover. For years Buffy had blamed herself for all of the things that had happened when Angel had turned evil. As if it was her fault that she had chosen to sleep with him, and therefore her fault in the people he had hurt as 'Angelus'.

Now, surprisingly with this young vampire, she thought that Buffy finally got it. The decisions that she made were her own. The things that others did were their own accountability.

It was about time that Buffy let go of some of her guilt.

*****

"OK. What else?" the blonde Slayer asked, still running her fingers through the long platinum locks of Melissa's head.

The small vampire looked down. "If I had known what type of person he was in life, I never would have made him. He's completely ostracized me from the Master. I am not even allowed to talk to him anymore."

"Hey.. " Faith said. She and Buffy both reached out to caress Melissa's hair. "It's not your fault. What is he planning now?"

"I don't know exactly. Just that whatever is happening now, Marcus is in the middle. This new threat.. the demon Camhrac. They are just a reason to bring you in. Darius wants to honor our code. Marcus only seeks to exploit you."

"And now you're telling us this, because?" the blonde Slayer asked, still wary of any potential foe.

"Chill out, B," her brunette lover chided. "I think we got a lot to learn."

*****

The loud crash from the front door echoed down the hallway.

Both of the Slayers spun into fighting stances, advancing forward as they laid hands upon and brandished their weapons.

"Stay here!" Faith said, looking over her shoulder at Melissa. Then she maneuvered down the hall toward the raised voices and noise that she heard.

What greeted the Slayers' vision was a horrific scene. Silenced submachine gun fire rang to their ears as they saw the bodies of human guards that normally manned the door, being flung to the ground in grotesque positions. As they finally reached the end of the long hallway that branched off from the main entrance, the entire scene greeted their eyes as Kennedy and Willow caught up with them.

For one reason or another, the reinforced steel door that was the main entrance to this clan's lair had been opened. And when it was, a small attack force of the demon Camhrac had pushed their way in, clawing and striking at whatever creatures their claws could find.

Displaying the true animalistic sides of their nature, they had learned and adapted to their preferred prey's habits. This was the place that the vampires hid during the day; therefore this was where the demons would attack when the need for food grew intolerable.

*****

At quick estimate, there were approximately 10 creatures that had breached the doorway before it had been sealed again. The monsters had quickly overcome the human guards, which guarded the front entrance and now they were tossing corpses to one side and another to gain further access into the lair.

Willow drew her hand back. "Victa San Pragh!" she shouted, hurling the opaque ball of energy forward into the pack of devils that threatened to advance into the inner levels. At least 4 of the 10 creatures tumbled backwards, and the Slayers advanced forward to dispatch them as they lay stunned.

Only after they had dispatched the few demons that lay twitching at their feet, they looked around and assessed their situation. Even Kennedy squinted her eyes and surveyed the area. "Where are the rest?" the brunette asked.

They all looked each other and the area over. "Oh God!" Faith said. "Melissa!"

The three Slayers ran back down the hallway to the small area that they had been using as a prep area. Their senses tuned to every possible anomaly.

"Melissa?" Faith called, getting no answer. "Melissa!!"

"Faith.. ?" the brunette heard the slight gasp from the corner of the room. The dark Slayer moved forward, striking down one of the humanoid demons that was in her path.

"Bastard!" the brunette yelled, striking diagonally with her sword and severing the connection between its brain and central nervous system. She climbed on top of the small girl's body, holding her close. The small female was close to death, having lost so much blood and tissue.

"Melissa.. baby!" She said, tears falling down her face. "Don't do this. Shit! Don't die."

Faith wasn't sure what she could do to help Melissa. At this point, all she could do was look down at the small body and feel her shake while watching so much blood flow from her wounds.

Blood?

OH my God, Faith thought. Slayer blood. It can help. Its very powerful to vampires.

Her mind was in a panic. She reached down and drew a small dagger from her boot and sliced across her left wrist, placing her wrist against Melissa's mouth. The small blonde resisted, trying to push away at the taste of Faith's blood.

"Mmmph.. NO!"

"Don't argue!" Faith said, pressing her wrist even harder to Melissa's lips. "Take it now baby." Finally the smaller girl locked onto Faith's wrist and suckled until both finally passed out.

*****

"Doctor!" Buffy called as she carried Faith's body into the emergency room of the largest hospital in London.

"I'm the doctor on call." Doctor Abagnale said, moving close to the two girls. It was just before dawn. "What happened?"

"Massive blood loss." Buffy stammered. "Help her please?"

PART 14

Buffy lifted her head from her arms, which rested on the edge of Faith's bed, looking up at her girlfriend. Faith was still asleep, a transfusion of AB Negative hooked into her arm.

In the back of her head, Buffy knew that Faith would be fine. She had given her own blood to Angel at one point, to save his life. A simple transfusion had saved her life. Slayer healing was a wonderful gift, sometimes.

Occasionally, the brunette would sway back and forth in sleep; Buffy's name escaping her lips in her more cognitive moments. Buffy had been here for close to six hours, pacing closely by Faith's bed and watching her lover fade in and out of consciousness. Finally Faith opened her eyes and they stayed open, to see Buffy's face smiling at her.

"Hi there." Faith murmured.

"Hey you." The small blonde said, smiling at her girlfriend. The brunette winked at her.

"Where are we?"

"Hospital. You lost a lot of blood."

The brunette recalled the events of the past day. "Ok.. What did I miss?"

"Not much. But I brought you some contraband.. " The petite blonde produced a quart of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

"Oh, you are the fucking queen." Faith said, grinning.

"I know. Just eat." Buffy grinned.

"Is everyone ok?"

"Yeah. Including you, now. Everyone is concerned about you."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Well, I guess I need to work up the strength to give everyone a hug, huh?" the brunette said.

"Guess so.. But I go first." The small blonde leaned in to give Faith a short kiss on the lips.

"You know.. " the dark Slayer accepted the small container of ice cream and dug into it with fervor. " Being close to death really opens your eyes. Everything looks nicer, smells nicer. Hell, even this chocolate-peanut butter ice cream tastes better!"

"That's good." Buffy said. "Because it's fudge-mint."

"Whatever.. " Faith grinned as she lifted another spoonful to her mouth. She squeezed Buffy's hand with her free hand and gave her a small wink. "Love ya.. "

"Right back at you." Buffy said. "We need to get you out of here, don't you think?"

*****

"Not just yet." Willow's voice echoed in Faith's room. "Someone is here to see you."

The small blonde stepped from behind Willow. "Hello Faith.. " The small vampire rushed to Faith and hugged her, crawling into Faith's bed and nudging close to her. "I never got a chance to thank you, so here I am."

Buffy stepped back allowing Melissa to crawl into bed with her girlfriend. It was unusual for Faith to open herself to someone new, as quickly as she had done. But Buffy also trusted her street-smart girlfriend's instincts. There was something truly unique about this young immortal, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Faith smiled and opened her arms to the small creature, welcoming her into her embrace.

"I'm glad you are ok." Melissa said. "I was worried, you saved my life."

"You too." Faith said. "Ice cream?"

"Yummy!" the small blonde's face brightened and Faith perused a spoonful to her mouth, which she readily accepted. "Mmm. Fudge-Mint"

"Whatever.. " Faith said again, frowning slightly.

*****

Buffy and Willow walked into the hall while Faith and the small vampire talked. "I don't know what to feel Wil.. She's never been this way with anyone else but me."

"Jealous?" the redhead asked, quirking a brow.

Buffy looked down. "I don't know if I'd call it jealous."

"Buffy.. " Willow said, causing the small blonde to look up at her. "Give me a little credit, ok?"

The blonde smiled slightly, then she acquiesced. "Ok I'm a little jealous. But I'm still glad you brought her here. I think Melissa is good for her."

"I know she is." Willow said. "Faith isn't broken any more Buffy, and I know you realize that. You don't need to keep watch over her. I love you, and so does she."

The blonde looked down, a small part of her familiar self-loathing creeping in. "Am I worth it?"

"Hell yes."

"That's one of the reasons I love you, too. Just in a different, non- sexy way."

Willow grinned, feeling the heat come from her friend's body as thoughts of Faith entered her mind.. "I think maybe Faith needs a sponge bath." She laughed.

*****

When Buffy re-entered the room, Faith had risen from bed and retrieved her clothing.

She subdued her natural reaction to watching Faith dress. The brunette's natural graces, glaring at her as she fought down her impulses.

"Leaving already? We haven't gotten the okay from the doctors." The blonde said.

"And the last time I left a hospital, did I get anyone's permission?"

"Point taken." Buffy shrugged. "Let's get outta here."

*****

They had all left, the four of them. Not saying a word to any resident physician, just before midnight, without anyone knowing. Faith had stood, slipped on her faded jeans and black tank top and the quartet had just disappeared.

There were demons that needed to be killed, and now Faith had a personal vendetta against them. The brunette walked hand in hand with both girls, and Buffy could not help but feel as if Faith had adopted the smaller girl as their `daughter' of sorts.

"We are gonna get this shit done guys. And I mean within the next few days." Faith said her own version of Willow's resolve face crossing her features as she faced forward.

"What do you have in mind sweetie?" Buffy said, curiously as Melissa's head lifted up from the other side.

"Red, didn't you tell B one time that you were working on a sunlight spell?"

Willow shrugged, looking over at the raven Slayer. "Well yeah, but it was only like hand grenade sized. Besides I wasn't powerful enough to pull it off."

Faith and Buffy both grinned. "Hello, 'Miss I was gonna blow up the fucking world'. Feel powerful enough now?"

"What were you thinking?" The redhead asked.

"Like Hiroshima size.. " The brunette trailed off, her mind focused.

PART 15

"Yes my lord." Marcus said before bowing deeply and exiting the clan leader's chambers. "All will be handled as to your command."

*****

When the door closed, Darius sat in quiet contemplation for quite some time. He wasn't sure exactly how, but the one being whom he considered his most trusted advisor had changed radically. It wasn't that Darius hadn't noticed the change in Marcus. Ignored it would be a better term. That is, until it had become glaringly obvious.

The small part of humanity that was left in him truly wanted to believe in Marcus, but the occasional looks that he caught and the slight change in his advisor's tone of voice had eventually become too much to ignore. One of the things that he had learned over the course of his long unlife was to be realistic.

In the end, Darius was a vampire. And he knew what vampires were capable of, he included. Unfortunately, realistically, a feeling of mistrust began to grow.

*****

A knock on the door to his chambers shook him out of his silent introspection. He motioned to Marina who had been sitting quietly on his large bed and she went to open the door.

A grin spread across his face. "Hello child.. "

Melissa rushed to him and took a place on his lap. "Hello my lord." She said, smiling.

"I was very concerned when I heard that you had been injured. Are you alright now?" He ran his hand through her long blonde hair.

"I'm fine, my lord." She smiled up at him.

"Excellent, my child. You are my light.. " his voice trailed off and he sat in silence for a long while.

She looked up at him, his brows furrowed and his face deep in thought. "What vexes you, my lord?"

He looked down at her and softly stroked her hair once again, smiling. "Nothing that need concern you my child.. nothing at all."

*****

Faith lay down on the King sized bed that she and her lover shared, and shortly after she lay down she felt Buffy snuggling into her shoulder.

"How are you?" The blonde asked.

"Fine." Faith answered, not entirely honestly. She was still quite weak and a little lightheaded. "Much better now that I have you with me."

That part was totally honest. When Buffy was in her arms, nothing else mattered.

"You know.. " Buffy said absentmindedly, running her fingers down the side of Faith's face. "Everytime that I come close to possibly losing you.. it makes me even more thankful to have found you in the first place."

The brunette grinned. "Why Miss Summers, if I didn't know better I'd think you were trying to flatter me." Faith cupped the blonde Slayer's cheek and kissed her lightly, then again with a bit more force and passion. Her hands ran from Buffy's cheek, through her hair and down to the small of her back, interlacing at the base of her spine.

Buffy moaned with the intensity of her lover's passion. She never ceased to be amazed by Faith's unquenchable sexuality. Even in the face of danger or eminent doom, the dark Slayer continued to exude an underlying layer of sex, with the mere glance or wink.

"We really shouldn't.. " Buffy said. "I mean you like to play tough girl, but you're still weak."

"Don't worry about me baby." Faith said, pulling her lover on top of her and raising her own leg between Buffy's own. "Let's make this all about you, ok?"

Faith's right thigh touched tightly on Buffy's needing center and her hands clasped at the small of the blonde's back. "Do it baby. Do it for me."

Buffy closed her eyes and her face became a mask of pleasure from the very first gyration against her lover's thigh. The blonde's hips pumped up and down, driving her need harder and harder into her girlfriend.

Faith loved to see Buffy in ecstasy. Just the simple looks, moans, and whimpers were enough to drive her over the edge, herself.

"Take these off." Faith whispered raggedly, tugging at the blonde's pink G-string, which was now soaking wet with desire. Faith wanted to feel her lover's shaven need directly against herself, and even she was amazed at the speed at which Buffy removed the item of clothing. Once again, the blonde clung to her and she felt the wetness from her hot sex against her leg.

She was pumping her hips up and down against her thigh and cupping Faith's head with both hands.

"Oh fuck! Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck!!!" the blonde screamed as she collapsed into her girlfriend's arms, the last spasm taking everything out of her. Finally, after several minutes of catching her breath, she lifted her head.

"You have no idea how much I love you, do you?"

Faith winked at her. She had climaxed herself at the sight of Buffy in orgasm, but she didn't say a word. There would be plenty of time for her own orgasms later. "I think that I have an idea. Now we both need some sleep, don't you think? Remember our rule?"

The blonde Slayer smiled. "Yeah I do. Me on the battlefield, you in the bedroom. But does that count when you're hurt?"

"You're damn right it does. Kisses?"

"C'mere." The blonde leaned in and kissed her lover deeply, caressing Faith's tongue sweetly with her own. "I love you."

Faith's smile grew even broader. "Right back at you baby."

Buffy's smile immediately turned to a pout. "No. You have to say it."

"B.. gimme a little slack. I'm hurt ok?"

"Nuh Uh.. Now it matters most Faith. Say it for me?"

The brunette Slayer brought the older blonde into her arms and held her tightly. Even when she was hurt, she enjoyed making her lover whimper.

"I love you, Buffy.. always."

PART 16

"Whatcha workin' on Wil?" Buffy asked, leaning over her friend's shoulder to see what she was reading.

"Not a lot. Just doing some research on that sunlight spell that Faith asked me about."

"Any luck?"

"A little. One or two words here and there. I'll get it sooner or later. Faith was right when she said I was more powerful now. I'm kinda feeling my way now instead of reading."

"Like what?" the blonde asked.

"Well, it's like I'm feeling my way along. I only need to look up a few words in Latin, since I suck at Latin. But for the most part, it's all feeling. Like Giles told me once, it's as if the magic is part of me now."

"That's because it is." The two girls heard the familiar English accent from the doorway behind them and turned. Giles stood in the doorway to the house's library. "I'm very proud of you Willow."

"Is there anything you wish to tell me, my child?" The vampire elder asked, holding the small blonde to his chest.

She thought for a while and he waited for her response. "I have a few things to say, my lord. And you may not be happy with all of it."

"Speak freely child." He said. "You know that you never need stifle yourself with me."

Reluctantly. "Yes my lord. It's Marcus. He is my progeny."

"Yes my dear.. " the elder vampire queried.

"Therefore I am responsible for his actions." The small immortal said. "I believe that he is betraying us all.. "

The vampire elder's response was a surprise to her. "I know. I've felt it too."

Her facial expression conveyed her awe. "He still lives?"

"For now.. You know our laws. I've written quite a few myself. I will not move against him without proof."

Faith awoke alone. To her surprise, Buffy was not in her arms at the crack of morning. Somebody needed to tell her girlfriend that part of being subservient in the bedroom, was being there when mistress needed snuggles. The brunette grinned when she thought of the spanking that Buffy would get later.

Though she was awake, Faith lay on her back with her eyes closed, relaxing until she heard the door open and her little blonde sweetie enter. Buffy jumped at the sound of Faith's voice.

"I expect kisses." The dark Slayer said. After the initial shock, Buffy crawled into bed and languidly spread herself over Faith's body. She moaned her approval into Faith's mouth as they kissed.

"I didn't know you were awake." Buffy said.

"I know. You wouldn't have left me all alone if you knew I was awake now would you? You better not." Faith held her lover tightly. "Last night.. "

"Yeah?" Buffy asked.

"Incredible." Faith told her.

"Oh baby." Buffy exhaled slightly into Faith's mouth when she kissed the brunette again. "I didn't do anything."

"Fuck yes, you did. You gave me the best gift of all. You."

"Love you. Too much for words." Buffy smiled and settled into Faith's shoulder.

"What do we do now?" Dimitri asked.

"Follow my lead." Marcus said. "Darius knows nothing. Trust in that."

Unknown to them, the small vampire probed their minds and had found what she was looking for.

You bastards, she thought. You incredible bastards.
