Knocking on the door softly, the girl stood in the dim glow of the outside light, leaning against the weather beaten porch railing.  When the door finally opened she stood up straight with a smile that slowly faded as she took in the sight in front of her.  Rushing through the opening, she wrapped her arms around a trim waist, supporting the weak figure.  "Faith, what happened?"

Closing her eyes as a fresh wave of pain spiraled through her battered body, Faith let her breath out in a hiss. "Group of vamps got lucky B, that's all." Leaning on the smaller girl as she helped her over to the bed, she carefully sat down.  "I'll be fine by tomorrow, no worries."

After helping Faith to the bed, the blonde rushed to the bathroom in search of supplies.  When she found the first aid kit, she went back into the main portion of the motel room and squatted down in front of the injured brunette.  "I don't care if you'll be fine by tomorrow, I'm taking care of these cuts tonight."  Buffy's voice was a mixture of determination and worry.

"Alright."  Faith sighed softly, allowing the older girl to bandage her up, not wanting to pick a fight she was sure to loose.  As the blonde cleaned her up, her touch gentle and soft on the brunette's torn and discolored skin, Faith couldn't help but notice the strange vibes she felt from the smaller girl.  "What are ya doing here B, shouldn't you be smooching with soul boy?"

"No," Buffy answered simply, her green eyes locking with brown before going back to her task.  "Angel might be back from hell, but I've already let him go.  I've moved on from him, so there won't be any more smooching with 'soul boy' as you say."  Dabbing at the younger slayer's eyebrow with a warm cloth, cleaning off the dry blood around the gash there, Buffy glanced into chocolate depths for a moment.

Frowning slightly, making the blonde's task a little harder, Faith never took her eyes off the older slayer.  "If I remember correctly sleeze bag Scottie boy dumped you, making you a free  agent.  Why not pick up where you left off with the big A?"

Sighing softly, Buffy taped a small bandage to the gash and moved on to the brunette's shoulder.  "I don't feel that way for Angel any more.  I don't think we were the star crossed lovers everyone made us out to be, and it's better off that way." Shrugging her shoulders, she spread niosporine onto a strip of goss before wrapping it around the wound in her companions shoulder.  "I've come to some realizations recently, and among others I've found out that I'm falling really fast for someone else."

"And who might that be?"  Faith asked, going for casual curiosity but a hopeful note slipped in at the last minute.

Taping the goss down on the younger girl's shoulder, Buffy looked straight into deep brown eyes. "She's an amazing woman who came into my life about a month ago, and ever since then I've been tumbling really fast." Her voice dropped  to a low whisper, while her arms slowly slid around Faith's neck.  "I think you already know her, but I'm kinda scared that she doesn't feel the same way."

Reaching out to pull the blonde onto her lap, her hands resting on the smaller girl's  hips, Faith smiled up into questioning green eyes.  "I do know her very well, and I'm positive she  feels the same way."  Not breaking eye contact, the brunette's hand slowly came up to tangle in silky blonde tresses. Pulling Buffy close to her, Faith lean in and captured glossy lips in a tender exploration of a new couple first kiss.

The End
