"Hey ya pirate! You ok?" asked Willow.
"Just because I don't have an eye, doesn't mean you can call me pirate."
"Sorry Xand."
"It's ok."
"Willow! I think we've a problem." Buffy entered in the living room with Spike by her side. The blonde looked a little shocked.
"What?" Everybody turned to look at Buffy.
"Faith. She's… She's not here."
"What do you mean she's not here?!" Willow got up.
"Now that I recall, I haven't seen her for like 2 days…" said Kennedy.
"Maybe she ran away. She saw the heat and ran away. Back to Angel."
Now everybody was looking at Xander.
"I don't think so. I don't think she'd just run away now."
"I agree with Spike. She came here, she wants to help us in this, she wouldn't just run away. God… where is she?"
"Faithy, Faithy. Your friends leaved you here all alone." Caleb caressed Faith's cheek.
"Shut up!"
The dark slayer was chained at the wall, she was totally beat up, bleeding and naked.
"You still talk."
Hours passed by and suddenly the Mayor appeared in front of Faith.
"Hello."
"Boss… that you?" Faith's eyes were filled with tears. "Why is he doing it to me?"
"Because you're a bad, bad girl. Join us Faith. Let's conquer the world."
"Last time it didn't work… How…"
"With you and Caleb by my side, it'll work. We'll open the hell mouth. We'll…"
"I'm good now. I won't help you."
"You'll always be evil. You even escaped from prison. Bad girl."
"It was for a good cause!"
"Beat her."
Faith tried to stay in silence but she couldn't all the pain, was too much. But she was strong, she wouldn't let the Mayor get to her.
"You'll join the darkness again Faith."
"No," whispered Faith.
The Mayor was now Buffy.
"Faith."
"B… You came to save me."
"Save you?" Buffy laughed. "Is that a joke? You think I came to save you? Oh please!"
Buffy slapped Faith, but her hand passed through Faith's head. But it hurt Faith, it hurt so much that she began to cry.
"You're weak Faith. You know eventually you'll join Caleb."
"I won't fail you again B. I… I love you."
Buffy turned to Caleb. "You know what to do." In an instant she was gone.
"I can't believe we leaved her in the hunt! I can't believe we didn't notice she wasn't here!"
"Buffy." Giles put his hands on the slayer's shoulders. "Calm down."
"Calm down?! Giles, I leaved her alone! You see, she's so insignificant in my life that… that… What if she's dead Giles?"
"Stop blaming yourself. You had other priorities. Save Xander."
"And what right did I have to leave her to death and pain?" Buffy punched the wall.
"That's not the problem is it? You blame yourself since put her in a coma." Xander entered in Buffy's bedroom.
"You should be resting."
"I'm sure she's ok Buffy. She's a slayer afterall."
Their conversation was interrupted by screams coming from downstairs.
SITs in the hallway called for Buffy. The screams got louder, making Buffy run as fast as she could.
Faith naked on the floor, with everybody's name wrote on her skin. On her forehead there was a symbol. Caleb was at her side.
"Listen to me clearly." He looked at Spike and Willow. "Don't try anything."
"What are you doing here?!"
"Master sent me." He smiled. "If you don't make things easy. Many more will die, or many more will return home like this slayer or that stupid boy." He pointed out at Xander. "I can still hear the screams of this slayer. You should hear it, it's a good way to relax." Caleb took a tape from his pocket and rested it on the table. "You all are such good friends. If she dies. I hope you blame yourselves for the rest of your lives. Now I've to go. See you all soon."
Before Caleb leaved the house he kicked Faith's head.
Faith didn't know where she was, she was feeling pain, hey eyes were in fire, her head was almost exploding from the headache.
She was seeing a shine little ball, she wanted to pick it up, she wanted it so much.
She raised her hand but still, the shine thing was far from her, so she tried to get up, but she couldn't.
Then Buffy entered in front of the shining thing.
"It's here…"
"Faith… You can't die."
"You came to save me?"
Silence.
"I won't fight death anymore. Don't have a good reason…."
Buffy eyed the scar at the dark slayer's stomach. She touched it and she felt how cold Faith was.
"You can't die."
"You're crying? Because of me…"
"Yes."
"Lemme die."
"No."
They were unaware to the stares they were receiving.
"It hurts."
"I came to save you." Buffy finally answered.
"It hurts B…"
"I know Faith… but stay alive… for me, please."
Faith smiled. She loved that girl so much. She closed her eyes and passed out.
"Faith? Faith? NO!" Buffy began to shake the girl.
Giles took Buffy away from Faith. "We can't take her to the hospital."
"Why's that? She'll die if we…"
"She'll go back to jail. I'm sure you don't want that to happen!"
"But Giles, what are we going to do?! Look at her! Look at the state she's in!" Buffy couldn't help the tears from rolling down her face.
"I see Buffy, and I understand what you're feeling, but we just can't. Willow can use magic to save her."
"You can Willow?" Buffy looked at her friend.
Willow was pale. "I-I think so."
Buffy took Faith in her arms and took her to her bedroom, Willow was right behind her.
"Ok… What was that? Didn't Buffy hate her? Why was she acting like she loves her?" asked Kennedy.
"We'll never understand those two, that's the what." Answered Xander. "Buffy doesn't admit but she completely blames herself because she couldn't reach her, because she couldn't stop Faith from going evil."
"I think they love each other." Mumbled Dawn.
Spike coughed. "Hey, how long do you think it'll take the witch to recover the slayer?"
"I don't know… Why don't we go back to what we were doing?" suggested Giles.
"That'd be a good thing to do." Said Anya sitting down on the couch.
They stood some minutes in silence.
"Do you think she's going to survive?" asked Amanda.
"She'll… cause Buffy asked her to, remember? 'Stay alive for me?' C'mon people, I give 2 days starting the day Faith gets better."
"Kennedy!"
"1 week!" said Andrew.
They all betted on how many days would take for the slayers to get together.
"Willow?" Buffy was sitting beside Faith, holding her hand.
"Yes Buffy?"
"Why is my name still on her skin?"
"Buffy… I don't know, maybe… I just don't know Buffy. Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure."
"Do you love her?"
Buffy opened her eyes wide open.
"Do you?"
"I loved her… I think it… it's stil in here Will. God, what did they do to her?!"
"Guess we'll never know, cause I'm sure she won't tell us."
"Wait a second…" Buffy got up and leaved the bedroom going downstairs.
Everybody stopped talking when they saw her.
She picked up the tape that Caleb left and went back to her bedroom.
She pushed play and sat by Faith's side again.
So many screams… How could she leave her there all alone…
"B?" whispered Faith. "I.. I love you."
Buffy began to cry.
"I love you too Faith."
Willow just smiled and continued to do what she was doing.
When Faith woke up, Buffy was at her side, holding her against her body, like trying to protect her.
Faith tried to get up but Buffy was holding her too tightly.
Man, what the hell is going on? She thought.
"B? C'mon, let me go?"
Buffy woke up and looked at Faith. "Oh.. Sorry, I…"
"How long?"
"What?"
"How long you know?"
"2 days."
"Good then."
"Are you hungry? Cause I can go and…"
"I'm good B, thanks. So… why were we snuggling?" asked Faith.
"Hm… well… cause…"
"I guess I must have slipped into your arms when I was sleeping, huh?" said Faith getting up and going after her bag. "It still hurts you know…"
"Do you want me to get some pills?"
"No.. not that kind of hurt… I mean, you left me there, you didn't even remembered me, I know you hate me, but… I could've died B… And now why are you acting all concerned?"
Buffy stopped to think for a moment. "I love you, that's why."
Faith laughed and began to dress herself up. "Funny ya know, I thought you loved the new vampire with a soul in the Sunnydale scene."
"I care about him, yes, but I don't love him. What made you think that?"
"First of all, you fucked him. Second of all, when you went after us in the basement, you looked at me like, really mad, so, you were jealous of me getting close to him, ok, no problem, that won't happen again."
Buffy looked blankly at Faith. "I was jealous of him getting close to you. Not the other way around. I was mad at you cause I thought 'She just got here now she wants to fuck the first guy she sees? Why can't she just fuck me?'"
"Smooth B."
"Faith, you said you loved me."
"Did I? When? When I was almost dying? Anyone could've said that." Faith headed to the door and opened it.
Buffy closed the door. "You love me don't you, so why the denial?"
"I'm not denying."
"Yes you are."
"Am not."
"Yes."
"Not."
"Yes."
"Not."
"Ok! We look like kids. I know you Faith, I can see it in your eyes… You so love me."
"Ok, so, I like you, so what?" Faith turned away from Buffy and went to the window.
"Just like?"
"Ok, I admit, I love you, I'm madly in love with you. Every time I see you I want to kiss you and make love to you. I know that it sounds too strange coming out of my mouth but…"
Buffy shut her up with a kiss.
"So, if you love me as much as you say… Show me. Make love to me."
Downstairs everybody was up and hearing the loudly moans of the slayers.
"1 fucking day?!" yelled Kenney. "And I bet Faith's not even totally recovered!"
"Ok? Who won the bet?" asked Willow interested.
"I think nobody betted on 1 day." Said Amanda.
"I betted on 3." Said Anya.
"And I betted on 2! Ok people gimme the money!" said Kennedy really happy about it.
"But you didn't bet on 1 day!" complained Andrew.
"But I was the closest, now, give me the money!"
"So B…"
"You know, I'm gonna kick Caleb's ass for doing that to you."
"Protective much?"
"That's cause I love you."
"I love you too B. Forever."
"Forever and ever." Agreed Buffy.
They drifted off to sleep. Knowing that their future was uncertain… But they still had the present, right?
