Redemption 2

Spoilers: Since I'm going to be working with the episodes, at least a
little I thought it best to put a list of what ones I'd actually be
working with.
'All the Way' the Halloween ep. An amusing ep but from
memory not overly important.
'Once More with Feeling' my personal favourite ever ep, I
love this ep, I probable won't do anything from this ep in my story,
or maybe something small like a song for the chosen two, because I
don't want to ruin the ep.
'Tabula Rasa' which as an ep was really funny and quite sad,
funny because of the whole memory thing, sad because of the
Willow/Tara thing, and I think this was the ep that Giles leaves,
which makes it worse because he's the only male character that I like
in the show now that Spike is doing what he's doing.
'Smashed' the ep that sends a lot of this season down hill,
because of the whole Buffy and Spike thing.
The fight was on and the clearing still well lit by the car lights and the 8 odd vampires were fighting against Buffy, Faith, Giles and Spike. It wasn't going well for the vampires; it was going really badly, especially for one particular vampire who was facing off against Buffy. There was blood leaking from all over his chest from the various stake holes where Buffy had 'missed' the heart.
Buffy plunged the stakes again into the semi-conscious chest of Justin the vampire again missing the heart, the vampire flinched aware of nothing but the pain of the six stake holes in its chest. Buffy stood up and looked down at the vampire, then stomped on the neck, a sickening crushing sound which seemed to echo in the clearing, as the bones in the neck were grounded down into fragments.
"Stay" said Buffy to the vampire as she looked around the clearing. Faith was currently fighting 3 vampires, Giles was just staking the vampire he was fighting and Spike had been lost from sight at the start of the fight. Dawn had been taken to safety at the start of the fight at the same time Buffy had singled out the vamp that had his eye on her sister for some special treatment. Bending down Buffy grabbed the stake and pulled it free then started heading over to Faith.
Faith who was fighting quite close to Buffy had seen and heard the whole thing between her and Justin, one of the vamps she was fighting must have seen a bit of it as well because he looked green in the face and at the sight of Buffy heading towards them, he took off at a dead run with a whimper of fear. Seconds after that the two remaining vamps were dead and Faith grabbed Buffy's hand "B, what the hell was that" she said pointing over at the vampire who was still unconscious lying on the ground.
Buffy gave her a confused look then turned around and looked at the body of the vampire. Buffy flinched away from what she had done and into Faith, shock clear on her face as well a hint of morbid curiosity. Turning she looked at Faith thought there was still a hint of confusion and even a bit of fear "Did I?" Buffy said not being able to fully say the other words for the question.
Faith gave Buffy a worried look and nodded her head "You don't remember?" She asked "you went really hard on him, wouldn't surprise me if we found all his arm bones snapped as well," Faith said informatively.
Buffy still looked a little confused "I, he was, I don't" she stopped for a few seconds and took a deep breath "it doesn't matter, I don't care" she said finally.
"No B, it does matter, that's what I said, remember. When I killed Finch, I said I didn't care and that it didn't matter. Looked how that went for me, I was lost and I ended up in prison. I won't let that happen to you Buffy." Faith said putting an arm around Buffy's waist and hugging her against her side.
This was the first night that Faith and Buffy had been out slaying together and if tonight was the par for recent slayings then, then Faith was really glad she had come to help Buffy. Faith recalled to mind what Buffy had said when they were at the jail 'I can barely care for myself and Dawn' at the time Faith hadn't quite gotten the reality behind those words. Now looking at the shaky girl beside her they came crashing down, leaning over she gave Buffy a kiss on the forehead "It's alright B, I'm here," she whispered.
The vampire was slayed before Giles and Spike walked back into the clearing and Buffy had collected herself, she still wasn't sure exactly what happened, but she wasn't going to mention it to Giles.
When Giles and Spike did walk back into the clearing the two slayers were sitting on the bonnets of one of the cars, a black BMW. Faith was sitting back her legs stretched out, one of her arms discreetly around Buffy who was sitting beside her crossed legs touching Faith's leg.
"For Vamps they had some nice wheels" Faith commented to Giles when he and Spike moved to stand near the two slayers.
Buffy remained silent her thought still trying to pin down what had happened to her for her to go so medieval on that Vampire.
Giles took in the two slayers sitting on the bonnet as if they were claiming it and gave Buffy a worried look. Sitting on the bonnet of a car wasn't really her thing, neither was not checking to see if he or Spike needed a hand after she had finished with the vampire she was fighting. Put together that with the look on her face had him a little worried.
"Is something the matter Buffy?" he asked arching an eyebrow at the blond slayer while looking closely at Faith for any clues as to what the matter could be.
Buffy shook herself and looked up at Giles then shrugged her shoulder "no not really, just thinking, I'm feeling pretty tired actually, I think I'll call it all night" she said getting off the bonnet of the car giving Faith a pat on the thigh as she got off.
Faith bit back a grin and nodded her head "You guys can handle getting home can't you?" she said jumping off and moving around to the driver's side door "B, why walk when we can drive?"
"Ahh Faith, I don't think that would be a prudent idea. We don't know what the vampire have being doing in that car." Giles said eyeing the black BMW "that and the fact it could be stolen is also very strong."
Faith gave Giles a dirty look though she was biting back a smile "gee G-man, nasty mind visual, I don't wanna know what the vamps have been doing in the car" she said.
Buffy just rolled her eyes and laughed "I don't think he means what you're thinking Faith, he means illegal activities" she said, turning around and walking off into the dark.
Faith just grinned at Giles who was still trying to formulate a reply to Faith and waves "don't worry about it G-man" she said then disappeared into the night after Buffy.
"Don't call me G-man" Giles said more to himself than the disappeared Slayers.
It was later that night when everybody in the house was asleep that Faith's dream started. It was strange at first just of Buffy and herself walking along a road which had a line running down between them, no matter what they did the line ran between them.
Then it turned dark and scary, a woman appeared before them, clad in a leather blouse which was cut low and displayed more than it covered, she also wore a black silk skirt which wound around her legs in the non existing breeze, she stood one foot on either side of the line facing them.
In her hands a sword like none Faith had ever seen, it seemed to be make of a liquid metal as the shape and even the length of the blade seemed to be constantly changing. Only the hilt didn't change, it remained the same a two handed affair ornate with gothic symbols. At the very base of the hilt a huge blood red ruby was held by a claw like pommel and the ruby pulsed with a life of its own.
The woman's long raven black hair flowed down the sides of her face almost like a black waterfall and again seemed to move in a non existing breeze. The face was pale beyond belief and Faith would have taken her for a vampire except she didn't sense that about the figure.
Faith came to a stop little more than a few feet away from the woman, but Buffy continued on walking seemingly not seeing the woman of undeterminably age, while her face and skin seemed young the emerald green eyes looked ancient. Faith reached forward to grab Buffy but she just couldn't reach her.
The leather and silk clad woman walked forward the two steps she needed to reach Buffy and put a hand out to touch the blond slayer's face. Then the unknown woman seemed to merge into Buffy. First the woman who Faith just realised was the same size as Buffy stepped forward into the slayer then aspects of the woman began to merge in Buffy. What ever Buffy had previously been wearing was gone, Faith couldn't be sure what it was but now there was a leather blouse and silk skirt. The hands when they merged transferred the sword to Buffy's hand and continued to change in shape and length. The face of Buffy seemed to grow more relaxed as if the woman now in her body was soothing, Buffy's blue eyes even started to change colour to hazel, the only thing that didn't seem to change was Buffy's hair, it stayed long and golden.
When the transformations in the slayer finished Faith awoke and suddenly sat up shaking with deep emotions. The first thing she did was look down beside her to Buffy who lay sleeping peacefully beside her, pulling back the covers, half expecting to find a leather blouse and silk skirt. Faith was relieved to find Buffy as naked as she herself was, what ever the dream it hadn't happened yet, settling down still shaking slightly she gather the blond to her holding her tight and vowing to discover what her dream meant in the morning.
"So what happened next?" Giles asked over the phone.
"Nothing I woke up and immediately checked B, of course" Faith answered sounding slightly annoyed.
"You went into Buffy's room while she was asleep, or was she awake at the time, have you asked if Buffy has had a similar dream, it's possible you both received the same slayer's dream" Giles said not really wanting to know if Faith had been caught trying to sneak into Buffy's room.
"No she was asleep when I was checking on her" Faith said side answering truthfully, after all there was no need for Giles to know that Faith and Buffy were now sleeping together, well not until Buffy decided that he needed to know.
"Look you've got as good a description as I can give you right now, and Buffy won't be in the shower much longer, see what you can find. We'll probable be down the Magic Box later sometime today." Faith said poking her head out the door looking down to where the bathroom was and where she could hear the shower still running.
"Oh and Giles, research this solo for now. Don't tell Willow or the gang about the whole thing, at least not until tomorrow. I don't think we need Buffy to find out that there could be a problem with how she came back from where she came from. It would freak her out and she's a little off right now, we don't need her going off the deep end, got me?"
There was silence on the phone for a second "Yes, I got you and if it helps I agree, but if I can't find anything I'll get Willow to run a search on the Internet tomorrow. I'll head down to the shop right now and start searching, and I think you're right this has to have something to do with where she came from when Willow brought her back to life."
"Giles, one last thing, keep an open mind about it, she might have been in hell and this thing could be from hell, but she is the slayer, this could have been something else which was protecting her. I don't know I just didn't get a sense of danger from this thing, well no danger aimed in my direction, like I said, I don't know."
"That's possible too, I'll check on as many dimensional beings and spirits as I can. I'll see you both when you get down here."
Faith hmmed an agreement and hung up the phone and waited for Buffy to emerge from the shower.
The rest of the morning progressed easily; the two slayers went down to the Magic Box where Giles was researching. After finding out that Giles knew nothing, Faith suggested that the pair of slayers go out.
"Sure where do you want to go?" Buffy asked from her seat at the large table looking over to where Faith was leaning against the counter.
Faith looked really uncomfortable for a few seconds then swallowed it back "Now I not saying it's a great idea, but I do need to swing by my old apartment, there are things I want from there."
Buffy looked at Faith for a second as if she were considering what she should say then shrugged her shoulders as if it were nothing special "sure no problem, if you need stuff from that place, I suppose we should go and get it" Buffy said.
Faith gave Buffy a slightly concerned look but nodded her head "I just wanna pick up any stuff that may still be there, you never know the cops still probably have tape up and won't let people enter or something" she said shrugging her shoulders.
Buffy shrugged again and nodded her head "it doesn't really matter what we have to pickup if anything, it's more that place. It gives me the wiggins" Buffy said looking at Faith as if she was expecting her to agree.
Giles looked up at the stage away from the books he was reading "if I can offer, I can go to Faith's old apartment and pick up any and all necessary items?" he offered with a inquiring look on his face.
Buffy turned to Giles and shook her head "nah, if there are wiggins to be had, who better to have them then Faith and I?" she said dismissingly as she turned away from him and arched an eyebrow at Faith almost daring her to contradict her.
Giles gave Buffy a concerned look and frowned as he turned back to his book, something was most obviously wrong and Buffy didn't realise it, but Buffy wouldn't have said what she had said just then, not if she were fine.
Faith just smiled her devil may care smile and nodded her head "After you B" she said making a sweeping gesture to the door.
Buffy walked by Faith and out the door giving Faith a grin as she walked past.
As Buffy passed by her she looked over at Giles and gave him a worried look and when Buffy left the shop Faith spoke "What ever it is find it, fast, that was not Buffy." With that Faith strolled out the door and together the two slayers headed off towards Faith's apartment.
Standing outside the apartment the first thing that the two slayers noticed was that the door was practically covered with police tape and seemed to be bolted closed.
"That looks promising for all my stuff, unless they climbed up the outside," Faith said with a big smile as she tore down the tape until just the door stood between them and the apartment.
"Out the way Faith allow me" Buffy said and with that performed a spin kick her foot missing Faith's head by a few inches, smashing the door practically off its hinges and calmly walking into the apartment without a backward glance.
Faith jumped a bit when she felt the foot go by and smash the door in and filed it away as more unBuffy like behaviour. Faith couldn't say she knew the blond well, not any more since they hadn't seen each other for a year and more, but Faith was certain that Buffy wouldn't just kick doors in not when people's heads were that close anyway.
Sighing with worry she looked at the door "B" Faith complained "Why'd you do that for, now I have to get it replaced." Faith walked past the door which was holding on by one hinge and into the apartment.
Buffy didn't even answer as she began going through the apartment's different rooms, walking down a small hallway to another bedroom in the back.
Faith meanwhile bounced over to her stereo system; her previous worry banished as something to be dealt with later. Turning the system on she ejected the CD then pushed it back in. "Yess..." she said shaking a fist at the system happily. Seconds later loud music began pumping out of the speakers.
"What the hell is that?" Buffy asked appearing from the hallway and looking at the stereo system as if it were a demon to be slayed.
"What?" Faith demanded "What do you mean what the hell is this" she continued on horrified "it's AC DC, Thunderstruck." Faith said informatively disgusted that Buffy hadn't heard of them.
"So? How the hell are they?" Buffy asked with a shrug of her shoulders as words started screaming out of the speakers.
Faith gave Buffy another horrified look "What?" she asked seemingly not able to understand that Buffy hadn't heard of AC DC. "AC DC, is an Australian Band, proper Rock and Roll none of that pop or easy listening shit. These guys are serious," she said finishing her assessment of the group.
Buffy rolled her eyes at the dig at her choice of music and turned the stereo off "What ever" she said. "What stuff did you wanna grab from here? Come on I wanna get outta here this place is starting to get to me," she said looking over at the broken window.
Faith gave Buffy a look as if she were going to protest the music being turned off, but the rest of Buffy's words stopped her. Faith's own eyes were drawn to the broken window and one hand touched her stomach. "We could do something to change the memories in this room you know."
"Burn the apartment?" Buffy suggested absent-mindedly her eyes vacant and with a far away look in them as she ducked her head and went out through the broken window.
"Your answer to everything is burning it, ain't it B?" Faith asked with a half hearted laugh.
When Buffy re-entered the apartment Faith started backing away a tiny look of fear in her eyes.
"I always wondered if the cops had found this" Buffy said holding up the knife her own eyes seemingly glued to the weapon. "I never wore a glove, every knock through out summer had me jumping thinking it was the police come to arrest me for attempted murder."
"You, ah, you gonna get rid of that thing B?" Faith asked nervous and not overly eager to see Buffy keep the knife at all.
"I think I'll keep it" Buffy said walking further into the room rubbing the dirt off the blade and tucking it into the waist band at the small of her back tilted so it could sit comfortably.
"You sure you want to keep that thing?" Faith asked in a whisper to Buffy now was standing in arm's reach.
"You know how I love beautiful things," Buffy said putting her arms around Faith and pulling the taller girl down for a passionate kiss. "Now I have a wonderful idea on how to replace the bad memories that this place holds for both of us." As she said this Buffy was rubbing up against Faith, and her hands had somehow ended up inside Faith's t-shirt and were gently stroking Faith's breasts.
Faith could feel herself losing her fear to a much nicer feeling and let herself be swept away by Buffy's hands and lips. Faith figured later when she could focus a little more she'd talk to Buffy about the knife a little more, but right now she had something better to do.

a disclaimer for.
Author's Notes: Eliza Lover: Your absolutely right about the knife and I have
no defence at my small slip up. However I'm using the knife so for
the purpose of this story it's going to be in there. But you are
correct the knife wouldn't have been where Buffy found it.
piper2210: No, up until season 6 everything happened as is,
so the knife shouldn't have been there to find however since I hadn't
seen Graduation for quiet some time I forgot that the knife was used
to lure the Mayor. But like I said above I kinda need the knife for
a bit so I'm gonna borrow it, hope nobody minds.
Faith blinked her eyes then started walking again, it took a few seconds for it to click, and she didn't know when she had started walking. The other strange thing was it seemed she was walking on the road and there was something in her hand. Looking down she noticed it was another hand, looking up she smiled, Buffy was walking beside her, well things were certainly looking up if Buffy was with her.
Still when had they started walking? The last thing that Faith remembered was the bedroom of her apartment, 'Well the whole apartment really, who knew that when B said she wanted to replace the bad memories she really meant obliterate.' A little shiver went through Faith as the memories of what she and Buffy had done flashed in her mind. 'Still back on topic why exactly are we walking down the middle of the road?'
It occurred to Faith that is was a dream, at the same time she saw the black clad figure standing on the road before them. But something was very different, the figure looked like Buffy, it was still as pale as death, but now it looked like Buffy, exactly like Buffy. The long blond locks flowing down the sides of her face and over her shoulders, the only two spots of colours on the figures face were the eyes and the blood red lips.
The other major change was the weapon in her hand, it didn't shift shape anymore like it had in her last dream, now it was stable, and it looked alarmingly like the knife that Buffy had found and that the Mayor had given to Faith. Faith looked at the figure with a look of puzzlement on her face, she knew it was this woman that was changing Buffy but there was no sense of danger or even a twinge from her Slayer sense.
Faith had, had Slayer dreams so she well knew that her sense would work during the dream, Faith looked down at the knife, and that's when her sense of danger went off. She looked over at Buffy who was staring ahead at the figure not seeing it, one hand in Faith's hand the other gripping the knife she had found in the apartment, the picture image of the knife in the hands of the woman before them.
Faith stopped walking and pulled Buffy to a stop beside her, her eyes glancing from Buffy, to the knife to the figure standing only 10 feet away.
Buffy turned and looked at Faith and smiled faintly but pulled her hand from Faith's and brought it up to caressed the side of Faith's face "It's ok, you'll figure it out" she said then she lent in and kissed Faith on the lips before walking on and eventually walking right into the figure.
Of the two slayers Faith was the first to awake from her dream and she awoke with a start to find herself in Buffy's arms with the other girl still asleep. She lay there for a second then reached out a hand and started to caress Buffy's face then she opened her mouth.
"I can feel the magic floating in the air

Never been this swept away" she sang her voice little more
than a whisper so as not to wake her sleeping love and she looked
lovingly at Buffy, watching as the sun shone though the window onto
Buffy's face.

The whole world just fades away
The only thing I hear
Is the beating of your heart" Faith lent over and placed her
head on Buffy's naked chest and listened to the heart housed with in
beat.

Just breathe" Faith head rose and fell with Buffy's chest as
the blond breathed in and out in her sleep.

Being with you gets me that way." By this stage Faith's voice
was a whisper and when she finished singing she lent down and placed
a kiss first on Buffy's forehead then around her mouth to wake her
up.
Buffy gradually woke to Faith's kisses and she smiled happy to start kissing back, she pulled back just a little and hugged Faith close to her "what a wonderful way to wake up" she said her hands drawing little things on Faith's back. "I just had this weird dream that you were singing to me" she burst out suddenly with laughter.
"Me B?" Faith asked as she too started laughing "I wouldn't even know what to sing B, after all you know my music selection, they aren't really the kind of songs you sing to a girlfriend."
Buffy smiled and snuggled close to Faith "girlfriend, I like the sound of that" she said trailing a line of kisses down Faith's chest finishing with a kiss on each nipple.
Faith moaned slightly then reached down and kissed Buffy on the forehead "keep that up girlfriend and we'll never get out on patrol" Faith said with a playful grin.
Buffy just laughed lightly and rained some more kisses down on Faith "This is necessarily a bad thing?" she asked between kisses.
Faith smiled and pushed Buffy away a little "You know, if I could I'd never leave this bed, but we have to patrol, if only so your friends see you to know that I haven't killed you or something." With that Faith pulled out of Buffy's arms and got out of the bed leaving a pouting blond behind.
Dancing over to her stereo she hit the power button and shift CD until the sounds of Staind started to emerge, dancing over to where her clothes had been discarded she grabbed the black leather pants and pulled them straight on "Come on, we'll grab a few things dump them in Giles' car then grab the rest later.
"Come on B get your cute little ass outta bed and help me pack, the sooner we pack the sooner we can go back to your place and shower then we can go down to the bronze." Faith watched as Buffy just rolled on to her stomach and buried her head in the pillows.
Faith grabbed the blankets and pulled them all off the bed then bounced on to the bed and slapped Buffy's naked butt.
Buffy squealed and put her hands to cover her butt as she started giggling like crazy, "don't AHHH, that hurt" she gasped out between giggles.
"Well when we're done here and in your shower at your place I'll kiss it better how does that sound?" Faith asked with a grin and a wink.
Buffy bounced off the bed and threw her arms around Faith giving her a hug and a grin "I'll hold you to that you know" she said then bounced off to where her own clothes were strewn around the apartment floor.
"I wouldn't have it any other way B" Faith said with a grin as she watched Buffy's butt bounce over to her clothes.
Added Disclaimer: Ok the song if you recognised it is "Breathe" by Faith Hill stolen by me for this part of my story, I need a good song for Faith to sing to her sleeping lover, and I thought that this one would suffice.
Author's Notes: Ok first apologies for the wait on this one, I've recently gotten a full time job which is chomping up a lot of my time since I'm pretty tired after work, so this story is going to progress a little slowly from now on.
A few hours later the two slayers arrived at Buffy's house; Buffy had her new knife tucked into the waistband of her pants concealed under the leather jacket she was wearing. They entered the house and turned and made for the kitchen where a note from Dawn awaited them.
"Gone to Janice's house to study for an English project" Buffy read out, then shrugged, balled up the piece of paper and shot for the bin. She smirked with satisfaction as she watched it go in "she shoots, she scores."
Turning around Buffy smiled and bounces over to Faith and pulled the other girl into a hug and a kiss "Now come on the shower is waiting and I'm a 'save water' kinda girl."
Faith watched with a concerned look on her face as Buffy balled up the paper and threw it into the bin, but it quickly vanished from her face as Buffy bounced over and pulled her in for a hug and kiss. "Fuck, B, you're insatiable."
Buffy just grinned and pulled Faith in for another kiss and as she gently tugged Faith towards the door.
Faith however stayed put and gently pulled away from Buffy's grasp "B, you go ahead, I'll be up in a sec, I just gotta call the G-man. You know he's waiting for you to call so you can say you're alright and that I didn't try and kill you or some shit."
Buffy pouted for a second and looked at Faith with a teasing expression "mood killer, that's what you are. Don't worry about Giles, I'm sure he wouldn't think you've attacked me."
Faith just looked at Buffy with a disbelieving look and arched an eyebrow "ok sure, and you can explain to Giles, when he comes looking for you, why exactly you're in the shower with me."
Faith changes her expression to an innocent one "Faith was just helping me to wash, Giles" she says with a slightly higher pitched voice. "Then why on earth were you screaming, Buffy?" She continues with a deeper voice obviously mocking what she thought would happen if Giles did walk in on them. "I'm ticklish" Faith finished off in a high pitched voice again.
Buffy starts laughing and has to lean against Faith to stop herself from falling over, since she is laughing so hard "I could imagine him breaking his glasses from rubbing them furiously" she gasps out between peels of laughter.
Faith just smiles and when Buffy's laughing started to come under control leans forward so that her mouth is near Buffy's ear, "Oh you can bet there would have been furious rubbing." She said with a low seductive tone of voice as she starts to nibble gently on Buffy's ear lobe.
Buffy gasped which quickly turned into a moan and she leant into Faith more and started to pull at the other girl's pants.
Faith grabbed Buffy's hands, "not yet" she said "go up and start a bath or shower, and you'd better be naked and wet when I get up there" she said in a husky, deep voice.
A shiver went through Buffy and her normally soft blue eyes were a noticeable few shades deeper as she turned and bolted out the door almost smashing the swinging door off its hinges in her hurry to get upstairs.
Faith took a few deep breaths to settle herself, even going as far as to turn on the cold water and splashing some on her face. Grabbing the phone she ran over exactly what she had to report to Giles, new dream, the knife and more of the strange, Buffy behaviour, then she dialled Giles home number.
Later at the bronze as Faith and Buffy walked and started looking for Buffy's friends Faith continued the conversation they had started outside. "I still can't believe that you started without me, I wasn't even that long" she complained.
"Started what with out you?" A voice sounding very much like Giles asked from right behind them.
Faith jumped and spun around dropping the stake she had grabbed from her sleave and glared at Giles "G-man hasn't anybody told you not to sneak up on a Slayer?" she asked with a slightly look of nervous and fear.
Giles bent down and picks up the stake and hands it back to Faith who just mutters something then shoves it back up a sleave, "What did Buffy start without you?" he asked.
"What?" Faith asked with a slightly horrified look on her face "er, it was slaying" she said in a rush suddenly "yeah last night Buffy started without me."
Buffy meanwhile was struggling not to start laughing at the flushed look on her girlfriend's face.
Giles just arched an eyebrow and nodded his head slowly "Yyeess" he said drawing the word out an uncertain look on his face, but decided to let it go, for now. "I take it the move went well, what you could move?" he asked curious to see if Buffy would display the knife.
Buffy just nodded her head "yeah we grabbed some stuff and then dragged it over to my place then we came here, after a while we'll head out and patrol. And Faith, I promise not to start without you tonight" Buffy said patting Faith on the shoulder.
Faith just coughed and gave Buffy a weak smile before almost having her arm pulled out of its socket by Buffy, who had grabbed Faith's arm and pulled her out on to the dance floor.
All the lights in the Bronze suddenly went down leaving a spotlight on Buffy and Faith in the middle of the bronze. Faith had her hand on Buffy's waist and was holding the other girl close, while Buffy had her arms locked around behind Faith's neck holding her equally close.
"The waves keep on crashing on me for some reason
But your love keeps on coming like a thunderbolt
Come here a little closer
'Cause I wanna see you baby real close up." As Buffy sang
the band up on the stage started to play music and the two girls
started dancing graceful as only a pair of slayers could. Moving so
in time that it was almost impossible to tell where Buffy stopped and
Faith started.

So I'm gonna keep on dancing." From the side other couples
started to dance around the two slayers to Buffy's voice, but the two
slayers were too involved with each other to notice what was going on
around them as they danced together.
"A performance deserving of standing ovations
And who would have thought it'd be the two us?
So don't wake me if I'm dreaming
'Cause I'm in the mood come on and give it up." Buffy lent
forward and kissed Faith fast, but by no means was it a peck, at
least that's what Giles thought from the side of the hall as he
watched his two slayers dance around the room. They were giving the
dances out of 'Dirty Dancing' a run for their money or so he thought
as he speculated on exactly how and when the relationship had changed.

So I'm gonna keep on dancing." Together the two slayers kept
dancing, Faith's hands holding Buffy's waist with Buffy's hands
locked around her neck as they danced.

Keep on dancing." At the end of the song the two slayers
melted even further into one another if that was at all possible as
they started kissing in the middle of the Bronze floor and the rest
of the lights started coming up.
Suddenly Faith broke away with an almost horrified look on her face "Buffy, Giles."
At first there had been a hurt look on Buffy's face but at the sound of Giles' name from Faith her own eyes widened and she started looking around.
The two slayers quickly found where Giles was standing looking at them thoughtfully.
"Well it doesn't look like he wants to kill me" said Faith into Buffy's ear, "are we going over there to see him or are we going to get outta here?"
Buffy looked over at Giles thoughtfully then discreetly shook her head as she turned and looked at Faith "no, we're going patrolling as we agreed earlier." Turning to look at Giles she holds up a hand and pulls out a stake from her sleeve and shows it to him as a sign.
Giles across the way nods his head and disappears into the crowd as the two slayers duck out of the Bronze and go ahead on their patrol.
