"B, this place is dead...literally. You wanna head to the Bronze?"
"Um I'm not really up to it so I think I'll just head home. But you're welcome to hang out for a while," Buffy smiled. "Yeah, sure, sounds cool," the brunette Slayer said with the usual nonchalance.
So they headed through the graveyard and navigated the streets of Sunnydale to get to Buffy's house. They were mainly silent through the trip but it wasn't uncomfortable. When they got to her front door, Buffy unlocked it, and motioned for Faith to go in.
"Mom!?" Buffy yelled. She hears nothing. "Guess she's not back from the gallery yet." So Faith walked to the couch and plopped down. "I'll be right back." Buffy jogged upstairs and Faith turned the TV on.
Buffy came back down and sat next to Faith a few minutes later.
The Chosen Two watched a few shows but the petite blonde got bored so she dragged Faith upstairs. She turned some music on and sat herself on the floor while Faith laid partially hanging off the side of Buffy's bed.
"So..." Faith drawled in her Bostonian accent, obviously uncomfortable in the quiet. After a few minutes of silence, "You wanna play truth or dare?" Buffy asked out of no where.
"And how old are you B?" she chuckled. "Oh come on. Might be fun. Truth or dare?" Faith thought a moment and decided since she wanted Buffy to know her better she'd pick truth. "Truth." Buffy paused to think of a question.
"Have you ever been in love?" A long beat after, "I wouldn't know. Never really been loved by anyone before. But once...maybe. I'm not sure." "With who?" Buffy was intrigued but still saddened by the fact no one had really loved Faith before. "Nuh uh B, that's two questions. So truth or dare?"
"Truth." When she saw the smirk on the brunette's face she thought to herself, 'Okay maybe this wasn't such a good idea.'
"You ever kissed a girl?" the dark Slayer's smirk became even more apparent. "NO!" was the immediate reply. "Whoa is someone homophobic or what?" Faith couldn't help but laugh out. "No, it's not that. It's just I've never thought about any girl like that before let alone kissed one."
"Whatever," Faith brushed it off like she didn't care. But it really did hurt to hear that. She already knew she had about a snowball's chance in hell with her, this just made that snowball even smaller.
"Truth or dare?" "Um let's liven this party up so I say dare," Faith ventured. "Kiss me," the small blonde replied. To Faith's complete and utter surprise, of course.
"What?!" Faith choked out. "Kiss me. I wanna know what it's like," Buffy answered, seemingly unaware of her counter part's bewilderment.
"You sure there B?"
"Yeah," Buffy said with little thought.
"Alright you asked for it." Faith got off the bed and kneeled in front of Buffy. She slowly moved forward and pressed her lips to the blonde's. It was slow and more sensual than Faith had meant it to be but she wasn't gonna complain. Buffy was really surprised by Faith's tenderness, she let out a small sigh. Faith pulled back and took up her spot she had on the bed before, trying to suppress her emotions.
"Truth or dare?" Faith asked, it coming out more like a sigh. "Dare." Faith grinned inwardly, 'this could be interesting,' she thought. "Hmm...ooh I got it," she smirked, "you hafta make out with Mr. Gordo." They both laughed at the absurd dare. Faith tossed the stuffed pig over to her counter part.
Buffy couldn't stop giggling but did her best to make out with her long time pig companion. Faith laughed too but she was actually jealous of Mr. Gordo. So many times she'd dreamt of being with Buffy. 'For God's sake, a stuffed pig has a better chance with her than I do!' Faith bitterly thought to herself.
Buffy stopped and and her laughter subsided, so she threw Mr. Gordo back onto the bed. "Faith?" But the brunette continued starring off into space. Buffy stepped closer to her and waved her hand in front of Faith's line of view. "Huh..what?" she snapped out of it. "You zoned out on me there," she laughed a bit. Faith mentally chastised herself for it. "Sorry. So, truth or dare?" The younger girl thought a minute, "Truth."
Again Buffy was surprised because Faith usually never wanted to talk about anything personal. "So who was it that you thought you might be in love with?" Faith looked everywhere but Buffy for a while. Then she settled her eyes on the beautiful green ones in front of her. "You B, it's always been you," she confessed.
"Oh..." Buffy said quietly, not knowing what to say yet. Faith stood quickly. "Oh!? That's all you can say! Jeez B! You gotta stop teasing me. One minute I think you might be into me and the next you act like I'm diseased!" "I never thought of you like that," the older Slayer replied quietly, eyes down cast. "Whatever. I shouldn't have said anything. I'm outta here," and then Faith ran out.
Buffy just sat there dumbfounded, and began to cry quietly. Then it hit her, "She's right." She got up and ran out to find Faith before she left for good. She ran out of her house and down Revello Drive. Down a few blocks in the direction of Faith's motel room she spotted the other Slayer. "Faith! Faith, wait!" The brunette stopped mid-stride but didn't turn around.
Buffy ran up, turned her around, and kissed her. Passionate and loving all at the same time. Faith was too shocked to respond at first, all she could think about was Buffy-straight-as-an-arrow-Summers was actually kissing her! Of all people! But she finally snapped out of it and kissed back. Buffy broke the kiss but stayed close to the other girl.
Faith finally found her voice, "What did that mean?" "It means that I love you," she smiled warmly. "B, are you yanking my chain? Cause I can't take that..." But Buffy cut her off. "You should know by now that I never say anything I don't mean and I never do anything I'll regret. Well almost anything, not this anyway," a shy smile made its way across her face. She continued, "And I promise to make it up to you. If you'll let me."
"What about Angel?" Faith hated to ask it but she had to know. "I told you we're not together anymore. It just can't work with Angel," she looked to the ground.
"You think it'll work out between us?" "I'm not sure but if you're willing to give it a try I promise to help you in any way," Buffy smiled up at the dark Slayer in front of her.
Faith smiled widely and picked Buffy up by the waist, spun her around and kissed her. Her prayers had finally been answered.
