"Take off your nightshirt..?" Elizabeth had asked between kisses.
"You really want to see me?" Faith answered, with a question of her own.
"Yes. Completely."
They fumbled with each other's shirts, finally finding each other completely unclothed. Elizabeth pressed herself against the brunette, feeling the passion rising inside her. In a moment she found herself above Faith looking down at her smiling face, kissing each cheek.
"Beth?"
"Yes?" She pulled back, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders.
"I..um.."
Elizabeth smiled down at her. "Yes?"
"I..I think I might.."
Elizabeth wrapped herself around the younger girl. "You don't have to say another word."
The blonde pressed herself against Faith again. Kissing her tentatively. Not sure where to go from here. Their previous encounter had been incredible for her, but she had no idea what to do next except replicate Faith's movements from the night before.
It was a wonder that Elizabeth could even think or remember their first encounter, what had happened after and all. But, it stuck out as one of the most incredible experiences of her life.
They had known each other all of three days. Yet somehow the bond between them seemed so strong. So..glaring and evident.
She kissed Faith again, trailing her mouth down her chin and to her breast. The brunette moaned and brought both hands behind Elizabeth's head, holding her close as if she might fly away if let go.
Elizabeth suckled sweetly at her breast, letting her hands roam curiously. Learning every sweet spot that Faith had kept secret for so many years.
Faith was a myriad of sensation. The mouth at her breast and the hands that now roamed freely over her uncovered body. Elizabeth's mouth went lower, worshipping at her navel while her fingers worked magic on Faith's center.
Faith arched her body into every touch that sparked her desire. She made sure to let her lover know every single place that brought out every desire that was pent up in her. Then, when she felt Elizabeth's tongue enter her, she lost all thought and control.
Her back arched at the attention, feeling the blonde's eager but unsure movements with her mouth. Faith's fingers interlaced behind the blonde's head, pulling her closer.
The taste of her lover flooded into Elizabeth's mouth, filling her with both surprise and adoration. Never before had she been so excited or eager to give pleasure. She slid her tongue into the delicate folds of the brunette beneath her, feeling Faith's hips buck into her face as she found just the right spots.
The brunette rode her pleasure like an ocean wave, and when she reached the inevitable climax it was like crashing to the shore.
They lay together for several hours kissing..exploring and learning each others most intimate secrets. Finally sleep overtook them both and they lay together, exploring the realm of dreams.
Faith opened her eyes and blinked, clearing her vision from the remnants of sleep and groggily reaching to her side feeling for her lover. Finding no purchase for her fingertips, she rubbed her eyes and looked around. Elizabeth was nowhere to be seen. In fact, she wasn't even in the bed where she remembered falling asleep.
Gone were the golden and scarlet hues of Elizabeth's bedchamber. Here it was dark and the floor was hard, covered in a damp residue that Faith had yet to identify. She held her hand up to her face. The bluish light that illuminated from some unseen source didn't cast much of a light source but it was enough to show her the dark and thick liquid that coated her hands. The close proximity also tripped her heightened senses.
The smell was unmistakable. Blood. She had been lying on her left side and was covered in it.
Was she dreaming? The scene before her was not unlike..heavens no.
She stood quickly and surveyed her surroundings. Just like last night, the room was barren the only sound that of the occasional rattling chain. She turned quickly from one side to the other, seeing no sign of any other being in the room with her.
"Faith.." she heard the voice and whirled around. There was no mistaking the voice. No human could make a sound like that. She saw nothing. Only the vast empty room she was in.
"Where are you?"
"I am here." Came the response.
Her heart beat loudly in her ears and she felt as if her ribcage would snap if it were to strike even one bit harder. "Then show yourself.."
"I would.." the voice came from directly behind her and she turned again to face the shadowed figure that now hovered over her. "..but my appearance can sometimes be disturbing to the uninitiated. And I don't want to disturb you Faith. Only to talk a while."
She backpedaled, shying away from the demon. "Wh..what is this? Am I dreaming?"
"In a way. But in another way, it is also very real. Did you think that your night time fantasies were closed to me? I have been waiting patiently for you to slip into dreams." If there were more light she would see the demon smiling. Grinning broadly at her, face stretched oddly at the movement of his facial muscles.
"Are you and your companion..finished for the evening?" The beast laughed.
"What business is it of yours what she and I do?" The brunette snapped, instinctively.
The foul thing laughed again, causing the grating feeling in Faith's ears once more. "Ohh..how touching." It mocked her. "So protective of your love aren't you? And why would that be exactly? Just what future do you think you have together?"
"I.." Faith started. But she found no words to finish.
"Did you really imagine growing old with her? Or having children? That is quite unlikely you know." The Acolyte smiled, grasping on any bait that he had to draw the younger Slayer. "Would you like to know the secret of your attraction to each other Faith? I believe I at least owe you that.."
She hesitated, straining hard to see the face that was shadowed by blue light and plays of visage.
"It's nothing but bloodline..The line of the Slayer runs through both of you. Nothing more, and nothing less. Were it not for that, Elizabeth would care not a toss for you."
"No!" Faith shook her head vehemently. Tears streaming down her cheeks. "Beth wants me. Me!"
"Oh sweetheart. In my world, she will. You see, she is so enamored with you now. If you come with me, she will come with you without a doubt." His lies and seduction were growing in ferocity.
"I don't believe you! I don't even believe IN you!" Faith spat at him, tears streaming down her cheeks. "This is all a dream!"
"Tell yourself whatever you need to believe, child. I am a patient being. I have a long time..to ..taste..your..flesh." He reached out to cup her face with his hand.
Faith sat bolt upright in bed, gasping for breath.
She looked to her right. Beth was sleeping peacefully and beautifully at her side. The blonde stirred at the sudden movement, reaching out for Faith and sleepily mumbling her name.
"Mmmm? Faith..?"
Catching her breath, Faith settled back down next to her and placed both arms around her sleepy form, letting her snuggle back against her breasts and drift off again.
She didn't close her own eyes at all until sunrise, afraid to let sleep come over her again. She merely watched Elizabeth in her sleep.
"I'm here, Elizabeth." She whispered to the sleeping Slayer. "I'm right here. And I'm not going anywhere.."
Finally, sleep took her. This time with no dreams.
Elizabeth awoke in Faith's arms. Opening her eyes groggily, she looked down at her sleeping lover and smiled. Propping herself up on one elbow and admiring the brunette, she ran her hands through the sleeping beauty's hair.
Even at that slight touch, Faith awoke with a start and sat up. Elizabeth worriedly backed away from her, worried but still tentative.
"Faith..?"
The brunette looked over at her, catching her breath. "I..I'm sorry. I was having a bad dream I guess."
Elizabeth breathed a sigh of relief and smiled gently. "Well it's ok now. We're together." The blonde wrapped her arms around her lover and Faith melted into her. Their lips found each others and intertwined, sweetly.
"My God Faith.." Elizabeth murmured, between kisses "I want you so much. It's like you are in my blood."
Only then did Faith remember the demon's dreamworld words to her.
~~"It's nothing but bloodline..The line of the Slayer runs through both of you. Nothing more, and nothing less. Were it not for that, Elizabeth would care not a toss for you."~~
She held back for a moment, restricting Elizabeth's lips from her own.
"What's the matter?" the blonde asked.
"I..I was just thinking. I'm sorry." Faith looked down.
"It's ok." Elizabeth said, her smile never wavering. She ran her fingers through her hair. "I know I must look a fright, just waking up and all."
"No." Faith corrected her, looking up. "You are more beautiful when you first awake..than most women are in an entire lifetime."
Elizabeth smiled up at her lover, feeling a warmth spread over her. "And do you know..? That you are the sweetest thing for saying that?" She wrapped her hands around Faith's neck and pulled her close, pressing her lips to the dark haired Slayer. Faith accepted her lips again and held the blonde close.
Elizabeth knocked on the door to Rupert's chamber.
"Enter." She heard from inside, and she slowly pushed the door open. The blonde poked her head into the room, scanning for her long time friend and Watcher.
"Good afternoon." She said entering the room, her companion following closely behind.
He looked up from the book that he had been reading from and smiled. "Ahh. Good afternoon girls. Come in please.." He motioned for them to sit down and they each took a seat across from him.
He flipped through several pages and finally found the one he wanted. "I've found several more references to the box and the demons that it summons. "
He turned the book around and slid it across his desk for the girls to see.
"The device itself.." He began. "Is called the Lament configuration. There are vague references to it in occultic lore, throughout the centuries. Though the stories of its surfacing vary, the central theme remains the same."
"Yes.." Elizabeth said "But how do you banish him?"
Faith nodded. "It seems like we already have the 'come hither' puzzle. Where is the 'bugger off' puzzle?"
At that Elizabeth laughed blushing and covering her face, and Rupert laughed as well.
"Er..Um." Rupert began, composing himself "I believe that they may be one in the same."
Both girls quirked an eyebrow at him, wondering what he could be talking about. One in the same? Noting the girls' confusion, Rupert continued.
"You see..as I said, all accounts regarding the box have been scattered but they remain centered on a main point. It's a drawing point..for demonic forces." He paused a moment, walking around his desk and flipping through a few more pages. "However, from what I surmise..if someone solves the box the demons come to you."
"Yes?"
"But if someone solves the box, in the demon's presence..the opposite should result."
Elizabeth's eyes widened and she smiled. "So that means the demon will be banished if the puzzle is solved in front of him!"
Faith looked over at her. "Why are you so excited? That means we have to go face to face with him again?" Her face was ashen, almost pale.
"I know. I don't relish the thought either." Elizabeth put her hand on Faith's "But it may just come to that."
Faith looked down. From the very start, she didn't know how to handle this 'Slayer' business, even though she believed it now. From a young age she knew that vampires and demons were real, and she had no problem killing them if they came for her, as they always seemed to. But to actively seek them out? What type of madness was this?
Elizabeth reassured her by covering her hand with her own. "If we don't do something..other people will die."
Faith nodded, still not meeting her eyes. She knew that what Elizabeth said was the truth.
"We can't just leave this unresolved, or ignore it." Elizabeth said to the brunette. "It's too important."
The look in Elizabeth's eyes was enough to melt Faith to the core. After a long pause and much self loathing, Faith spoke.
"I trust you. We can do this right?" She held both of Elizabeth's hands in her own.
Rupert looked on as the scene played out in front of him, the subtle glances and behavior between the two girls glaring him squarely in the face. He couldn't ignore it any longer. He loved Elizabeth as if she were his own daughter. He also trusted her judgment.
He just hoped that it wouldn't lead her down a blind alley, which ended at another stone wall.
...to be continued...
