"Dusted!!" Faith shouted gleefully, the familiar tingle returned to her body as the vamp exploded. The stiff, tweedy watcher named Seaman nodded his approval. He turned to take a call on his mobile as Faith grappled with a Zygigio Demon. Slimy, clawy and not at all a pleasant demon to grapple with.

Faith recalled reading about one of these demons in one of those slayer books. From what she remembers, (and what she remembered was incorrect) this demon was an easy demon to slay. She stabbed him repeatedly with her stake, when he wouldn't just die Faith started to feel a little panicky.

"Uh, yo, Seaman... need a little assistance." She flung the demon over her shoulder, feeling a little gratification when she heard the thump of him colliding with a gravestone.

"Seaman!" Faith turned around to see what the hell was up; Seaman turned around too and saw the demon approach her from behind. He couldn't find the words to warn her, and when he did it was too late.

"Faith-"

She spun around and stopped suddenly, her eyes widened and seemed to glaze over; she could hear a high-pitched ringing in her ears. She looked down to see that the Zygigio demon had thrust two of its four claws into her stomach – and out her back. She jerked in pain when he withdrew them, and she collapsed to the ground. Seaman ran over and decapitated the demon, killing it once and for all. Something he should have done had he not taken that call. Her death would always be on his mind, he would feel guilt ridden for the rest of his life knowing that he had the power to save her, and he didn't.

"Faith, oh god, I'm so sorry-" He started to apply pressure to her wound, trying to ignore the fact that what he was doing was causing the slayer immense agony.

"S'ok," she grimaced and fought hard against passing out. She didn't want to die, there was so much more she wanted to do. But then again, a short life span came with the job. "I gotta go sometime right?"

Seaman called the Watcher's Council. Faith tried to listen to the conversation but realised she must have passed out for a few seconds because she only caught the last few sentences.

"Ok.... but.... no, I understand... but it's not tested properly yet! I see your point but... no I don't want to have her death on my hands – but this could also... ok! I'll administer it." He hung up and pulled out a small case from his jacket, filled and syringe with some green liquid and without even a second thought stabbed it into Faith's arm.

The slayer screamed and passed out.

"She's apparently doing really well over in England under the watchful eye of the... Watchers. No mishaps or anything that I heard of." Giles informed all the Scoobies in the Magic Box. "I'm glad, and you should be too Buffy, it's always reassuring to have another slayer."

"But Faith?!" Buffy jumped up from her chair and walked around the shop floor. "It's not goddamn reassuring to have her as another slayer!"

"She's changed Buffy." Giles sighed; Faith was always a touchy subject.

"I won't believe it, till I see it."

Giles thought of the Bible story of the disciple who didn't believe that Jesus had risen from the dead until he could touch his wounds. Touching Faith's wounds wouldn't be so easy.

"Well, I guess we should meet tomorrow, Buffy you have to slay now. Don't stay out too long, go home and get some rest. You look tired."

"Thanks Giles." Buffy mumbled as she started walking towards the door.

"Giles is right Buffy, you've really been pushing yourself recently. You hardly ever come home anymore. I think Dawn has forgotten what you look like!" Willow touched her friend's arm. "I just think that maybe you should rest, take a night or two off from the slayage."

Buffy felt kinda guilty, she had been neglecting Dawn recently. "Yeah, not tonight though, I have some frustration that I need to get out and I- Oh fuck!!" Buffy screamed and clutched her abdomen. "Faith!!" She fell to the floor, pulling Willow with her, everyone ran out to see what was wrong.

"Buffy what is it! You're scaring me!" Willow shook the slayer.

"Something's wrong... with Faith..." She looked up at Giles. "Call England now!"

She awoke and immediately sat up in bed.

"What the fuck is going on? Where the fuck am I?" She knew she was somewhere in the Watcher's HQ.

"Faith! You're awake! You've been sleeping here for 36 hours." Seaman walked into the room, pulled up a chair and sat beside her bed.

Faith's mind flickered back to the last event she could remember – that fucking Zygigio demon. "I guess being stabbed through my middle with two foot long claws is bound to make me sleepy."

Faith felt funny. Actually she didn't feel funny and that's what made her worried. She touched her stomach, knowing that her slayer powers could not have healed such a wound in such a short space of time. Which lead her to two conclusions.

"Ok buddy, here's where you tell me that in actual fact I've been asleep for about a year and that's why I feel no pain from a war wound that technically should have killed me by now." Faith paused searching his face. "Or you've done something to me?"

"We injected you with a serum, it's Vampire's genes and antibodies. You see, vampire's antibodies are the strongest in the world, they heal any injury so fast and vampire's never get sick."

Faith did feel kinda stronger than usual, she felt perky and full of energy. "Side-effects?"

"Uh, you see we didn't get time to really study it... we're not sure if there are any side effects." He wrung his sleeve in his fist.

Faith grabbed his collar and pulled him to her. "Well you better hope that I don't grow a fucking tail or it's your ass that I'll burn."

He laughed nervously and plied her hands off his shirt. "Don't worry I'm 100% sure that you won't grow a tail Faith."

Giles hung up the phone and looked at the Scoobies, Willow was holding her best friend closely, Buffy looked terribly pale.

"Buffy they say everything's fine. Faith's been out for her normal slaying routines every night, she's been behaving."

"They're lying."

"Buffy, I think they would have told me if-"

"No they wouldn't tell you Giles, not if it was their fault, not if they've broken the rules and they want to cover up their tracks. Of course they're going to tell you that everything's fine." Buffy stood up gingerly, she was visibly shaking. "I didn't experience a fucking heart attack back there, that's Faith's connection and she was seriously hurt."

"Can you feel anything now?" Willow asked quietly.

"I don't know what I can feel, but whatever it is, it feels weird." Buffy bit her lip and stared into space.

"Willow, maybe you should bring her home. Anymore strange feelings, phone me immediately ok?" Giles watched as Willow supported Buffy and they walked out of the shop.

"We have to walk quickly, I don't want to get jumped Wills."

Willow held her closer, she loved the feeling of being close to the blonde slayer, even though she had Tara who was probably waiting for her in bed right now, it didn't hurt to have a little crush. Besides Buffy was as straight as an arrow.

"Why does it feel strange Buffy? What's changed?" Willow studied her.

"Her energy has changed, it's weird... it's like it's always searching out for me now... I can constantly feel her presence. It'll probably go away... maybe she just got a big happy."

Willow giggled. "One hell of a big 'happy', Buffy."

They laughed as they approached the house.

"Giles rang?" The head watcher stared at Seaman. "But... why? He couldn't know about it, could he?"

"He said Buffy felt something strange and immediately knew it was something to do with Faith, he was ringing to make sure that Faith was ok."

"What did you tell him?"

"I said things were fine, that Faith had been slaying every night as per usual. Nothing strange had happened." Seaman did not want to be fired from this job, he hoped he was saying the right things.

The watcher nodded. "Good. What about the serum, any more information about it?"

"Um, yes. It's not so good. It would appear that Faith is very similar to a vampire. The nurse watching over her said that she was having a nightmare and her face changed into... game face." Seaman paused. "But it's weird because she eats normally, she's fine in the sun and she has expressed no need for blood."

"I don't trust any vampire Mark." A nest of vampires had murdered his whole family ten years before. "I don't trust any of them, even if they want blood or not. Sort this out, or we will have to dispose of her."

"Sir, you have to understand, we may have stumbled across something amazing! She could be some kind of super-slayer, maybe even immortal!" Seaman couldn't stop the excitement from entering his voice.

"Let's just see how things progress ok? A vampire is a vampire Mark, don't let her out of your sight."

Faith stared at her reflection, her face was pale from shock. She was in game face, but she was able to see her reflection. It didn't make any sense. Maybe it was just a side effect that in time would disappear. She didn't really feel the need for any blood. But there was a voice inside her telling her that she may need some in time, and where would she get it?

"Faith?"

Seaman was calling her.

"Yeah?" She walked out of the bathroom gingerly, her body was recovering rapidly, and she felt absolutely fine, but they kept insisting on injecting her with so much crap that it made her drowsy and drunk almost.

"How are you feeling? Any tails sprouting yet?"

"Very funny." She sat on the bed, her head spinning madly.

"Because if there is anything strange you notice you have to tell me immediately." Seaman looked her straight in the eyes.

Faith didn't like that look at all. Something was going on behind the scenes, something was wrong with her and the drugs were what made it all seem ok. As if her body wasn't experiencing weird changes.

"Sure." Faith said, not really meaning it at all.

"Faith! You absolutely must tell me, it is of utmost important that you do tell me." Seaman stood up as Faith lowered herself on the bed, she was feeling nauseous, dizzy and tired.

"Jesus! I said sure!" Faith screamed at him, Seaman's eyes widened and he stepped back from the bed. Something weird had flashed in her eyes.

The nurse came running in. "Please leave Mr. Seaman, your presence here is disturbing and upsetting Faith. She needs all her energy to recover."

Seaman stormed out of the room.

"I feel fine though... I think if you didn't give me all the drugs I wouldn't feel tired!" Faith started to protest weakly.

"Your body has suffered a massive trauma dear, no one, not even slayers, can fully recover from that in less than a week." The nurse injected something into her arm again, she gently dabbed the area with a cotton bud. Faith giggled, the drug had effect immediately, by the time she was ok she would look like a drug addict with all the marks on her arms.

"Maybe not slayers." Faith slurred her words. "But a vampire sure can." Just before she drifted off to sleep she thought of Buffy.

"I can't explain it Willow! It's too hard! It's weird, it's a connection. It's Faith, when is anything with her straight forward?"

"Pretty much nothing is Buffy, since she is so obviously a dyke." Dawn munched on her toast and idly flicked through a magazine.

"What?!" Willow squealed as she spun around to face her.

"Sorry, no disrespect Willow. It's such a cool word."

Buffy frowned at her sister before turning back to Willow.

"Buffy I believe you when you say that something is wrong, because your instincts are like, almost always right. But what more can we do? If we ring up again they'll be pissed off with us. Unless you want to get on the next flight to England we don't really have any other choice but to sit and wait."

Buffy's eyes widened.

"But we are not going to England Buffy, you don't have the money."

Buffy sighed. "True. But something is definitely up and I hate sitting and waiting to find out what it is."

"I'm going to school, see you guys later!" Dawn hopped off the chair and was gone.

"I dreamt about her last night Will, it was weird. She didn't say anything, but she kinda... kissed my neck... now I don't normally have dreams of the 'I like girls' kind, so it was weird. But she had such a different – air about her. She's changed, hugely. I don't think she's just changed mentally either." Buffy stared at the counter top.

Willow felt tingly at the thought of Faith kissing Buffy's neck. "Well, I could plague Giles to get him to ring up again and see if he can sense anything going on."

"Would you? I'll help too, he'll have to ring just to make us shut up!" Buffy laughed and started cleaning up the kitchen.

Faith was dreaming, she was with Buffy on her bed in the watcher's HQ. They were having a make-out session, Buffy's arms were running up and down her back, Faith was kissing her so deeply. Her tongue was sliding against hers, mapping her mouth, and never wanting to forget this feeling.

Buffy pulled away. "Oh Faith... please... kiss my neck..." Faith's lips ran butterfly kisses all over her neck, she gently nuzzled the hollow of her throat and felt Buffy shudder against her.

<Bite>
"Bite me."

<Bite her>
"Bite my neck, Faith."

Faith's breath was coming in short bursts against her neck. She didn't want to <bite> hurt her, she didn't want to <bite> kill her!

"Please Faith!"

But she wanted it! Buffy's hand grabbed her shoulder and she moaned her name. Faith pushed her body against the blonde's and sunk her teeth into her neck. When she felt the body struggling in her arms she woke up.

And realised she had sunk her teeth into the nurse's neck, the flow of blood down her throat her addictive and fulfilling.

The nurse had heard Faith's groaning and thought she was having another nightmare; she had grabbed her shoulder to wake her up when the slayer had (so quickly she couldn't actually see her do it) pulled her against her body and sunk her teeth into her neck.

Faith shoved the nurse away from her, she could see the blood trickling down her top, between her breasts and it seemed to make Faith more excited. The slayer had to get away. She pulled wires out of her body and jumped off the bed, stumbling a little from the drugs.

"Oh fuck... I'm so sorry... I'm so so sorry..." Faith looked around the room. Where the hell were her clothes? "Where are my clothes!" She spun around in game face and glared at the nurse. What the hell was wrong with her? She couldn't seem to stay in Faith mode.

"I-I-In the wardrobe over there!" She pointed a shaking finger to the wardrobe in the corner.

Faith pulled on some clothes and with total luck exited the building without being spotted. When the nurse had managed to gather herself together, she pressed the alarm and then cried her heart out.

Around the same time that Faith was having her dream Buffy was lying in bed trying to relax, it was only nine o'clock and way too early but Willow had insisted. There was no point trying to argue with an insistent Willow. She felt a burning start in her loins, her hand automatically went between her legs, and she was soaked! How did she get so wet? The dream popped into her mind, where Faith was kissing her neck. She gently eased two fingers inside her pussy and began to fuck herself slowly. She moaned quietly into the room.

She had left out a minor detail to Willow, Faith's hands had also been caressing and pinching her breasts and nipples. It had felt so good, when she had awoken she masturbated immediately and had such an intense orgasm.

Her eyes slipped shut as her hand moved quicker. Buffy pictured Faith kissing her deeply, her hands running over her body, she had never wanted or begged to be touched before, but she was a slave for Faith. She would spread her legs at Faith's word without one question.

As Faith started to kiss down her neck Buffy cried out, she savagely rubbed her clit with her palm as she fucked herself. She threw back the duvet and pulled up her nightie so she could see herself play with her neatly trimmed pussy. She watched as her hips gyrated and thrust up to meet her hand.

"Fuck!" Buffy hissed and bit her lip.

An image of Faith in game face came into her mind for no apparent reason, but she found it so incredibly hot. Her pussy contracted violently around her fingers, signifying her oncoming orgasm.

"Oh God... fuck!"

She was so wet, it was extraordinary. She was never this wet usually. Faith sunk her teeth into her neck, Buffy squealed. It was as if she could feel the dark slayer's touch. She exploded around her fingers at the thought of Faith taking from her.

"Faith!"

Her hips thrust madly against her fingers, she tried to draw out the orgasm for as long as possible. She collapsed against the bed and finally fell asleep.

"She what?"

"Escaped Sir."

"I don't believe this, a drugged slayer slipped unnoticed out of this building? This high security building?"

Seaman swallowed. "It seems she just got lucky Sir, we have her on security cameras."

"Oh really? Well isn't that just brilliant! We've lost a dangerous slayer/vampire but it's ok because we have her on the security cameras." He started pacing the room and Seaman clutched his hands together. "She's loose somewhere in England, she could be out there murdering as we speak."

"I think we would have heard something if-"

"Shut up!" He slammed his fist down on the desk. "I don't give a flying fuck if she is, but I do give a flying fuck if she is traced back to me once the police find her."

"Police can't contain a slayer, let alone a slayer/vampire." Seaman watched him pace back and forth. "She bit the nurse, apparently she was dreaming and calling some name – Buffy."

He stopped pacing and looked up at him. "Buffy? That means she has probably gone to find her, don't you think? She's probably travelling to Sunnydale as we speak." He picked up the phone. "Get out to the airport, bring as many as possible."

*~*
Heathrow Airport

*"Last call for passengers flying on flight BA1289 to California. Please make your way immediately to A12, the gates are about to be closed."*

Faith sprinted through the airport; she was carrying nothing but the clothes on her back and her wallet. Which, fortunately enough, contained her credit cards from her time with the mayor. They hadn't been cancelled so she booked a flight for Sunnydale.

She shoved her way through a group of people, ignoring their shouts of protest and continued on running as fast as she could to gate A12. She could sense that the Watchers were catching up with her, but she knew that they didn't have the power to stop a plane. She needed to get there.

Her feet got tangled in a walking stick and she fell on the hard floor with a thump. She moaned and clutched her shoulder; she could feel it was dislocated. When she moved she realised that it was definitely dislocated. She stood up gingerly and banged her body full force against the nearest wall and grunted when she felt it pop back into place. When she turned to continue running she faced Seaman.

"Get out of my way." She hissed in a low voice.

"Can't let you do that, it's my job to bring you back."

"I'm gonna miss my flight asshole!" She started to push by him but he grabbed her elbow.

"You have to come back Faith!"

Her eyes darted about the area helplessly; there were so many people she couldn't start beating him up. She'd just get reprimanded and not make her flight. She did the only thing she could.

"I'm not going with you Mark! You're abusive and I'm sick of it! I'm going to America to start a new life away from you!" Faith yelled at the top of her voice. She could see a lot of people turned to stare.

"Faith!" Her hissed and pulled on her elbow.

"Ow!! Stop Mark! Please! Just let me go!" She clutched onto her arm as if it cause her so much pain. Glancing around she could see that gate A12 was just up the corridor.

"Stop this!"

"I can't be your girlfriend anymore, you just beat me whenever you drink, you're obsessive, possessive and not very well-endowed. I deserve better than you!" Faith pulled her arm successfully out of his grasp.

"Yeah!" Some woman in the crowd shouted. "Let 'er go!"

The whole crowd started chanting it: Let her go!

"Faith!" Seaman shouted at her as she ran to her gate, he started to go after her but two men stopped him. He watched helplessly as Faith ran through the gate and down the corridor thing into the plane.

"It's ok man, let 'er go, you'll be beta off with out 'er." One of the men holding him tried to console him.

*~*
Somewhere over the Atlantic.

Faith stared out the window of the plane and watched the sea underneath her. It was a wide expanse of nothing, a place where things were not confusing. Without the drugs in her system she realised she was conscious of the odours, scents and heartbeats of the humans around her.

As a slayer she had more attuned senses, but nothing like this. She could smell that the woman beside her was turned on while reading her raunchy romance novel, the man on the other side of her had bad BO. She was also painfully aware of the heartbeat that bumped rapidly under the girl's skin as she read a particularly hot part of her novel.

She had enjoyed sinking her teeth into the nurse's neck so much, she could recall the rhythmic flow of blood down her neck; she remembered the drop of blood that trailed between her breasts. It was so sensuous and something that she wanted Buffy to experience.

Granted, Buffy probably still wanted to gut her – and do it properly this time. But maybe the dreams she'd been having weren't just her dreams. Maybe Buffy was sharing them.

If that was the case, she couldn't wait to get to Sunnydale.

"Ring please! Just ring and ask to speak to her!" Buffy was almost begging Giles, she was ready to get down on her knees and ask him.

"Buffy-"

"Giles PLEASE!" She grabbed onto his shirt. "Something is wrong, if I speak to her I'll know if she's alright."

"Ok! Buffy relax." Giles got the phone and dialled the number.

"Hello, can I speak to Mr Seaman please?.... Ah yes, hello, it's Rupert Giles, fine... you?... well I was wondering if I could possibly speak to Faith, it's an important matter that I need to discuss with her.... no, I'm sorry... it's private, I need to talk to her... ok I'll hold." Giles held the phone away. "See I told you! He's just going to get her."

Buffy nodded.

"Sir, Giles wants to speak to Faith, he says it's important and it's a matter that he can only discuss with her."

He reached over and grabbed the phone. "Giles... Michael Rolland here... we have a certain situation on our hands I'm afraid... well, Faith has escaped... our sources tell us that she has gone to Sunnydale, but I don't know how true that is... I didn't want to tell you in case she came back to us... yes I'm aware of that now... if you find her, please contact us immediately and we'll send someone to get her, she will be punished accordingly... farewell." Rolland hung up the phone.

"You didn't mention anything about the serum?"

"No, because Giles doesn't need to know until she gets there, she may not go to Sunnydale." Rolland walked around the room. "I don't want to make a big fuss over someone who could walk out in front of a bus and die tomorrow, Mark."

"What are you implying?"

"She's adjusting to her new feelings, physical attributes and she's very confused now that she's not on those drugs." Rolland stared out the window and looked over the city of London. "She may run into the wrong kind of trouble."

"He was lying to you about something, he left something out. I'm sure of it." Buffy bit her lip and stared around the Magic Box.

"Well at least we're now being told an element of truth, Faith has escaped and she is most likely on her way here."

"How long till she arrives Giles? I don't want her sneaking up on me in my sleep, or on my family... I'll kill her." Buffy paced around the room, her fists clenching and unclenching.

"But Buffy, you said she'd changed." Willow stopped her.

"Yeah, but how much? And what if she hasn't changed for the better?" Buffy felt so frustrated. "I hate not knowing, Willow! It's so draining! I'm wasting all this energy trying to fucking figure out what the hell is up with her that I can't fucking get a decent night sleep!"

Willow hugged her tightly, she could feel Buffy's body sag against her own, her body was so tense. "Oh Buffy..."

"I dream about her, they're getting clearer and realer. I think she's trying to get here, I think she's trying to find me. There's something wrong with her, she thinks I can help her."

"Does this information come from your dreams, Buffy?" Giles asked gently, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah, it's what I can sense from her." Buffy paused. "It's not something I can explain easily."

Giles nodded and stood up from the table.

"Giles, I'm gonna bring Buffy home, she looks sick." Willow wrapped an arm around the blonde's waist.

"Ok, Willow, if anything happens I want to know." Giles watched as they got up to leave, one thought was troubling his mind. "Buffy...?"

"Yes?" They stopped and turned around.

"Do you think... well, do you think that she has maybe changed into a vampire? It's just you said she'd changed, physically as well as psychologically. It's something that has been worrying me since this started." Giles put his hands into his pockets and studied the slayer.

Buffy bit her lip, she looked up at Giles and stared into his eyes. "I don't know Giles, maybe... maybe something similar has happened because as far as I can tell she's still Faith."

"Do you get a sense that she has turned into some kind of... for want of a better word... demon?"

Willow and Giles both studied the slayer's reactions closely.

"Yes, she's changed into something... but at the moment she is more in tune with her human side than her demon side, but that could change." Buffy sagged more against Willow's body.

"Ok we're going home, think about it Giles, think about what all this may mean, ok?" They turned and left the Magic Box.

Giles sat down at the table, Anya walked over.

"Do you want to talk to me about it? Talking about things can often help relieve stress, or relieve awkward feelings. One time Xander and I talked about sp-"

"It's ok Anya! Um, I just had an idea." Giles strode over to the counter and pulled out his diary. A few weeks ago he'd heard a rumour about some test that the Watchers were doing, to try and find an invincible slayer by mixing slayer antibodies with vampire antibodies.

Maybe it had backfired? Giles, picked up the phone, he was going to find out more about this 'rumour'.

Faith looked around the terminal, everyone had dispersed to get their luggage, and Faith had followed them by instinct before remembering she didn't have any luggage. She strode out of the terminal and looked up into the blue sky. God, life was good when she didn't have to follow rules.

She had no way to get to Sunnydale, she could buy a car and cruise there, and it definitely sounded appealing. The police could stop her and she had no driver's licence, or tax or... well, anything. She couldn't picture a car seller selling her a car either. She could get a cab, but then again she had no cash only cards, and even then she didn't want to fork out all the money it would cost just to bring her to Sunnydale.

"Hey cutie!" Some guy strode by her and grabbed her ass.

She spun around, grabbed his arm and threw him to the ground. "No one touches my ass, bucko!"

He put his hands up in surrender. "Shit, I'm sorry, just admiring the goods babe, no hard feelings right?"

"Whatever."

He walked off and she continued to look around the airport area, still had no idea what to do. She could ring Buffy, but at a time like this she wasn't sure if she could trust the blonde slayer. She would just book herself into a motel and stay there for a few days before hitchhiking her way to Sunnydale.

Sunnydale

Buffy was walking around the house, tidying up and trying to get her mind off the brunette who seemed to permanently occupy her thoughts. She yawned and sighed, she was tired again maybe she was sick. Maybe there was something wrong with her and not Faith.

She got that funny shivery feeling again and knew that there was something wrong with Faith.

She lay down on Willow and Tara's bed, they wouldn't be home for a few hours, she could just sleep for a while.

She dreamed while she slept, this time the dream was so vivid she knew that Faith was experiencing it too, she knew that Faith was no longer on the other side of the Atlantic, that she was somewhere in America. Somewhere near Sunnydale.

Faith was in game face, hiding in a corner of some dark room, Buffy was standing by the door, light filling in behind her.

"Faith it's ok..."

"It's not B..."

She turned to face the blonde and Buffy saw the light on her face, showing her features clearly. She was also crying. Buffy had never seen a vampire cry, especially not while in game face. Her whole body shook from confusion and fear. Buffy could sense the one thought in her head – Buffy could make it better.

"How? Faith?"

"You're my salvation." Faith stood up and walked towards her, the light covered her body and to Buffy's amazement, she didn't burn.

Her body was scrawny, she was malnourished and in need of a good meal. Buffy briefly wondered what kind of meal? Did she want blood? Or proper food? Buffy's own body tingled at the thought of being bitten by her sister slayer.

"Your salvation? Why?" Buffy backed away from the approaching girl, but she found herself pressed against the door, which had somehow closed.

"You are." Faith slammed her hands on either side of Buffy's head and grinned when the blonde flinched. "You are."

"Faith, what are you talking about? Where are you?" Buffy's hands searched for the door handle but she just couldn't find it. She stared into Faith's insane yellow eyes, her ridges pronounced and angry.

"I'm so hungry." Her gaze dropped to Buffy's neck, where her rapid pulse jumped under skin. "You are."

"Faith-"

"Do you care?"

"Of course, I-"

"Do you care enough to let me drink from you?"

"Faith, please... just-"

"Let's find out."

Faith sunk her teeth into Buffy's neck, the blonde slayer gasped and clutched onto Faith's arms. Her hips automatically thrust against Faith's, she wrapped her legs around her waist and moaned as she felt Faith's tongue lap at the wound on her neck. The brunette slammed her body into the door and bit into her neck deeper, Buffy screamed and rubbed herself against Faith's abdomen.

"Faith!"

"I don't know what I'm going to do with her Tara, I'm afraid to leave her at home in case she has another attack." Willow sighed.

"Willow, what are the dreams about?"

"Faith, and... well, she's doing things to her. She's doing things to her that Buffy would never normally do. I think Buffy is dreaming about Faith being a vampire and biting her, among other things." Willow blushed, she'd walked in on one of the slayer's dreams recently, she'd been moaning and holding her neck, while the other hand was beneath the covers, doing what... well, Willow didn't really want to think about it, it just made her blush.

"How do you know?"

"Well, I heard her moaning – 'Faith bite me, please'... and she was... well... you know." Willow looked down at the table, avoiding her girlfriend's eyes.

"What?" Tara grinned, she loved it when Willow got embarrassed.

"Touching herself." Willow whispered to her.

"Did it turn you on?" Tara whispered back. She knew how much Willow loved to watch a girl masturbate, it turned her on so much.

"Tara!" Willow squealed.

"It's ok Willow, I don't mind, I know you crush on Buffy and that's ok." Tara squeezed her hand.

"This isn't the point! Faith is looking for her, she's on her way here. I'm just warning you to be on the watch out for her. She's a little taller than Buffy, skanky but pretty and she wears leather." Willow added in a low voice. "She's not hard to miss."

"Willow! I can't take it anymore! She's constantly in my dreams, they're getting longer, so much more vivid and real... I'm afraid to sleep." Buffy sat on the couch and put her head in her hands.

"Unfortunately Buffy I don't know a spell to stop these kind of dreams." Willow reached out and touched Buffy's arm.

"I don't think they are dreams." Tara said. "I think they're her way of contacting you, her wishes and your wishes mixed together. Her scenarios and your scenarios joined. She's trying to persuade you maybe... I don't know."

"Either way, I can't take it."

Dawn walked in. "Jesus Buffy, you should hear yourself at night."

The three girls blushed.

"Dawn, I can't help it!"

"She bites you, right?"

This topic had not been brought up in discussion before, they had all been too afraid to talk about it. Dawn knows no such boundaries.

"Dawn! I don't wanna talk about this right now!"

"I-I think you should Buffy." Tara said quietly. "Maybe you'll feel better when you do."

Willow nodded her agreement.

"Ok, she does."

"And you enjoy it?" Dawn sat down on the arm of the couch.

"Dawn!"

"You gotta talk about this!" Dawn shouted back at her.

"So what if I do?" Buffy stood up and began to pace back and forth, she wanted nothing more than to get out her house and slay out her frustration.

"You gotta admit Buffy, it is kinda strange." Willow tried to work out what she was thinking.

"I know, you should feel it though... it's like a huge amount of tension being released and it just feels so goddamn good." Buffy paused. "She keeps calling me her salvation, I don't understand why."

"She thinks you can save her?" Tara asked.

"Maybe, but from what? Herself? Whatever the hell is wrong with her?" Buffy stopped and stared out the window. "I don't understand what is going on with her, how the hell am I supposed to help her?"

Sunnydale

Faith watched as all the kids came out of school, if her memory served her correct one of them should be Buffy's kid sister – Dawn. She glanced at all the teenagers that flew out of the school at amazing speed, clearing the area so fast. Finally her eyes came to rest on the beautiful brunette who was surrounded by what Faith would call her little preppy gang. Kids who've money and popularity but no sense of friendship or love and who just use one another.

Like Faith knew anything about all that crap anyway, the slayer mused to herself. Love, friendship all that shit was way beyond her grasp. Maybe she could somehow prove that she had changed.

"Shit!" She hissed. Her little soul-searching moment had caused her to almost lose sight of Dawn, she darted forward and at once caught sight of her.

She followed the younger Summers' girl at a safe distance and watched as she said goodbye to each of her friends along the way. As they approached Buffy's house Faith called out to her.

"Yo! Dawn!"

The younger girl spun around to see who was calling her. She squinted in the sun light, cursing herself for not wearing her sunglasses to school today. She could see a woman dressed in black approaching her quickly. By the time she realised it was Faith, she ran from her but to no avail. Slayer reflexes are just too quick. Faith grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her back.

"Just walk normally ok? Then I won't have to hurt you."

"You're hurting me now!" Dawn cried, she saw that Faith was in quite a messed up state, there was something seriously wrong with her. Dawn thought that maybe her cries would go unnoticed but she saw something flicker in the slayer's crazed eyes.

"Ok, wrap your arm around my waist, hold me tightly, if I feel you're letting go I will hurt you, right?" Faith pulled Dawn's arm around her body. The girl could feel how skinny she had become.

"Faith, what's wrong with you? Buffy has been having so many dreams about you."

Faith's eyes brightened up. "Really? Did she describe them to you?"

"Not really, something about you with... I dunno..."

"What?!"

"Fangs. Have you become a vampire? But it doesn't make sense, you're in broad daylight." Dawn snuck a look up at the slayer.

"I dunno what I've become, kid."

Dawn knew by the tone of her voice she shouldn't question her any further. They approached the house and Dawn unlocked the door and stepped in.

"Hi guys!"

Inside

Buffy walked out of the kitchen ready to greet her sister but the sight made her drop her glass to the floor.

"Faith...!" It barely came out as a whisper.

"Buffy I swear to God if you turn me in, or ring up the watchers I'll snap her neck!" Her grip on Dawn tightened and she cried out.

"I won't! Trust me Faith! I won't, I swear." Buffy took in Faith's appearance, she was shaking, scrawny, her hair was a mess and she looked so tired. "Let her go, we can sit down and talk about all this. You can tell me what's been going on? Maybe we could start understanding those dreams we've been having."

Faith's arm crept higher on Dawn's neck. "How do I know that once I let her go you won't beat me to a bloody pulp?"

"I swear Faith, I just wanna help you!"

Something in Buffy's eyes must have reached Faith, she let go Dawn who fled into Willow's arms. Buffy shoved Faith up against the front door.

"But if you ever-"

Faith moved quicker than even Buffy could see and spun them around so she had Buffy pinned against the door.

"Don't fucking do that B!" Faith growled into her ear, sending shivers up and down her spine. "I'm not here for this shit!"

She released the blonde who spun around and stared in shock. "How... how did you do that so quickly?"

"I don't know B, I'm trying to figure it out."

"Are you a vampire?"

"Can we not talk about this out here?" Faith gestured to the living room. "I'll tell you everything."

Later on...

"So the next thing I know is that I made the plane and I'm here having such weird dreams about you that I just don't know how to deal with."

"Faith, I don't mean to pry but do you think you're dependent on blood?" Willow asked gently.

"I dunno Willow, I don't think I am."

"Have you... have you... well... had any yet?"

Faith squirmed in her chair, uncomfortable at the memory. "I didn't mean to! It was such an accident! I was dreaming and the nurse came to wake me up and I just... it wasn't meant to happen!"

Buffy watched helplessly at the inner turmoil Faith was suffering. "Faith it's ok! I understand... was it one of our dreams?"

"Yeah... I was gonna bite you when she woke me... I guess I thought it was you I was sinking my teeth into."

"You bit her?!" Dawn squealed. "I knew it already... but it's such a weird thing to say!"

"Should we tell Giles?" Tara asked.

"I dunno... what if he rings the Watchers straight away?" Buffy frowned.

"Aw fuck B! They can't come looking for me! I swear to God! I'll fucking kill myself, I'm not going back to them, look what they did to me!" Faith jumped up.

Buffy grabbed her shoulders to calm her down. "Faith! It's ok, we're not going to just yet, but Giles has to know at some point."

"Maybe I should just keep running, no one can catch a running slayer. Not if she doesn't want to be caught." Faith's eyes darted about nervously.

"Shut up! You're staying, right? You are staying here with us, if I have to keep you in my bed to make sure that you don't run off then I will. I want to help you through this. I don't understand why I do, but I do." Buffy took Faith's shaking hands in her own.

Faith's mind immediately lit up at the thought of staying in her bed. "I'll stay for a short while, but I can't promise I'll stay for long."

*****

Faith lay on her back in Buffy's bed and stared up at the ceiling. Her senses were going into overdrive, everything around her was Buffy, and the thought that she was in the next room naked, getting dressed, made her feel hot.

"You still awake?" Buffy whispered as she walked into the bedroom.

"Yeah, vampires don't sleep much." Faith mumbled.

"Is that what you feel you are?"

"I dunno B, if I could feel anything other than confusion then everything would be ok."

Buffy slipped into the bed. "I wish I could help you."

Faith propped herself up on her elbow. "You remember the dreams, don't you?" She suddenly felt unsure of herself.

"I do."

There was an uncomfortable silence that developed between them.

"It's true." Faith barely whispered, if Buffy didn't have slayer hearing she wouldn't have heard her.

"What is?"

"You are my salvation B. I dunno why but you are."

Buffy studied her face. "Faith..."

"What? I don't mean to freak you-"

"No, do you have... well, a... game face?" Buffy blushed. "It's just that in my dreams you did and I want to know if it's exactly like you were in my dreams. If you don't want to well, that's ok." Buffy then blushed a deeper shade of red, realising that she was babbling.

Faith closed her eyes and concentrated hard. She felt the pressure push on her face and her teeth. She groaned from the sensations of the transformation. When she opened her eyes and looked into Buffy's, the blonde's eyes had dilated, and her respiration had increased.

"Wow, what's it like?"

"Pressure... feels kinda good... puts me into hunting mode..." Faith's eyes travelled over Buffy's body, a gesture not missed by the blonde's eyes.

Buffy could see flashes of those teeth that caused her so much pleasure in her dreams. "Really? It's like something else takes over?"

"Sorta, more like the hunter in me takes over." Faith ran her tongue over her sharp teeth.

Buffy felt a hand travel up her thigh, she jumped and her eyes widened. "Really?" She asked breathlessly.

"Yeah... pretty cool huh?"

"Mmm hmm, well..." Buffy felt the hand caress the swell of her ass before moving higher over her stomach. "I wonder what they feel like?"

The hand stopped, Faith cocked her head to one side. "Wanna find out?"

Buffy frowned. "I dunno-"

Faith shoved her back into the mattress and sat astride her waist. "Enough small talk, I'm stronger than you B, and I know that there's a part of you that craves this. To be dominated... I know you want it."

Faith could smell her arousal... and her fear. "Faith... please... not like this..."

"Yeah come on B, fight me... make it more exciting." Faith laughed as she felt Buffy struggle under her. "Oooh yeah... come on Buffy..."

Buffy tried to take a swing at her; Faith caught her arm and grinned down at the struggling slayer, showing her fangs. Slowly, she brought the wrist to her mouth and bit gently into the skin. Buffy immediately moaned and she shivered.

"Yes..."

She took her fangs out of her wrist and slid down her body, she took off her nightshirt and then bit into the swell of her breast, something she had fantasised about. Buffy's hands drove into her hair, holding her tighter against her body. Faith moved back and watched the blood trickle over her breasts, the brunette moaned before following the trail of blood and finally sucking her nipple hard.

"Faith! Fuck yes!"

She released her nipple and immediately nipped her teeth into the skin on her stomach; she lapped gently at the wound, her tongue rapidly licking up the blood. The smell of Buffy's arousal was very apparent now, but something brought the blonde back to earth.

"No... Faith... not now... we can't..."

Faith looked up at her from her stomach, still in game face, her insane eyes glowing with need. "What the fuck is wrong?"

"I don't think we should... we need to find out more about you!" Buffy pushed the brunette away from between her legs.

Faith then shoved the blonde on to her stomach and sunk her teeth into her shoulder blade, Buffy squealed and tried to fight the arousal and pain that shocked her system. Suddenly Faith released her and turned over in the bed to go to sleep.

Buffy tried to get her mind around what just happened.

*****

Faith awoke, she was in game face, she could smell the dried blood from last night and it seriously affected her senses. Buffy was strewn across her body; her neck was bared to Faith's hungry gaze. Faith gently rolled them over so she was on top of the blonde's body, she could sense her pulse beating under the skin, could see the dried blood on her own top from last night.

"Mmm... Faith?" Buffy blinked her groggy eyes.

"Yeah?"

"I'm feeling really..."

It suddenly hit Faith, she could smell her arousal too. It was so strong! "Hot? Turned on?"

"Bite me."

"I shouldn't..."

"Please Faith... bite my neck... I've been dreaming about it for so long."

"But last night you said-"

"Fuck what I said last night, right now I'm so fucking turned on and all I wanna feel is you." Buffy brought her mouth up to Faith's and kissed her deeply, she could feel her tongue scrape off her teeth and it sent her into a frenzy. She wrapped her legs around Faith's abdomen and began to grind her hips into her stomach.

The brunette slipped her hand into her pants and began to rub her over her panties. She could feel the damp material under her fingers as she gently ran her fingers up and down her slit.

"Faith please!" Buffy pulled her mouth away for a split second.

Kissing her one last time she pulled away and started to kiss down her neck. Buffy moaned and dug her nails into the dark slayer's back. When Faith started placing butterfly kisses over her jugular Buffy's nails dug in harder.

"Bite me!"

Faith slowly sunk her teeth into her neck, moaning at the sound of Buffy's sigh and the flood of wetness in her panties. Faith decided to slip her hand into her panties and gently rub her clit.

The flow of blood was so good, especially because it was a slayer's blood, and a slayer's blood is an aphrodisiac. Faith dug her teeth in deeper, not really caring that there would be a huge bruise on her neck. She plunged two fingers into the blonde's pussy, her hips thrust up to meet her hand and she moaned again.

*****

"Well, I was just thinking about it Willow, we left Buffy in bed with a vampire last night, both who have confessed to enjoying the dreams that they have both been experiencing." Tara sat at the counter in the kitchen sipping on her coffee.

"Oh you mean you only realise it now?" Dawn asked. "I thought you had it planned so that they would get together or something. I didn't really wanna say anything about it because I'm just a kid. Obviously they're gonna do some... well, whatever it is that vampire's who love human's do."

"Oh shit Tara... I wasn't thinking logically last night. Do you really think Faith is a full vampire?"

"Oh no... I think she's like a... well, super vampire." Tara said. "She can withstand the sunlight and she eats, she doesn't need invitations into houses. I guess what we really gotta make sure is that she doesn't decide to make some children for herself."

"Um... maybe we oughta check on Buffy and Faith?" Dawn said, nodding to the stairs.

"Good idea."

*****

Faith could feel Buffy was about to come, she had hardly put her fingers inside her and she was ready to burst. She rubbed her clit a little harder and drove the fingers in as deep as she could, moaning when Buffy cried out. Her free hand pinched a nipple and Buffy's body tensed; Faith heard the door swing open.

"Faith! Please." Buffy cried and her body shuddered, her hands ran up and down the brunette's back before resting on her arm and she pushed the fingers in deeper. Faith knew they had an audience so she pulled her head away from the blonde's neck and looked at the three girls standing in the doorway.

"Buffy!" Dawn shouted, her eyes widened at the scene in front of her, she had never seen such a look of pleasure on anyone's face before in her life. Then such a look of anger when Buffy realised they had been disturbed.

"What?!"

Tara mumbled some words that threw the brunette slayer off of her, but not before advertising to everyone's eyes that her fingers had been buried inside the blonde. Willow ran over to her, she couldn't stop staring at the wound on her neck. Then eventually her eyes scanned lower and she saw the dried blood on her breasts, stomach and arm.

"Oh Buffy..."

*****

"She's securely bound to the bed." Giles walked down the stairs and tried not to stare at the mark on Buffy's neck.

"Nothing can keep a running slayer Giles, not if she doesn't want to be kept." Buffy echoed Faith's words from the night before.

"Well we'll see. I can't believe you didn't tell me, you especially Willow." Giles shook his head in disgust. "She could have murdered you all while you slept and you would have known nothing about it."

"She didn't though!" Buffy cried.

"No but she had some fun, by the look of you, she had some real fun." Giles ran his hands through his hair.

"I-I-I... you don't fucking understand!" Buffy screamed. "Besides I thought you would just run off and tell the watchers' council."

"Why would I tell those pompous assholes?"

"I dunno Giles, I guess I wasn't thinking. But right now we have to sort this all out. She said she was injected with some serum and from what I can gather it must have had some vampire agent in it. Apparently she would have died without it." Willow paced the living room.

"Could it be some kind of vampire antibodies?" Giles asked quietly.

Willow's head perked up. "Yeah, actually... and maybe they're becoming more and more prominent everyday. They're taking over her normal metabolism and each day she becomes more and more vampire like."

*****

Faith glared at nothing. She was so fucking pissed off. Her arms were hurting, a dull ache was settling through them and the ropes were cutting into her skin. She did feel kinda good though. The memory of sinking her teeth into Buffy's neck was enough to fire up her loins.

"Faith?" Dawn's tentative voice brought her out of her reverie.

"Kiddo, how are you?"

Dawn frowned. "Are you ok?" She looked at her skin around the ropes; she could see it was red and angry. "Are you in pain?"

"No more than I can stand." Faith grimaced and twitched.

Dawn walked over and ran her fingers over the welts on her skin. "If I was allowed I would release you."

Faith snorted and tried to ignore the feel of her gentle touches. "What if I was going to kill you?"

Dawn turned her head to look at the brunette; a look of disbelief crossed her features. "Yeah right, Faith."

Faith looked offended. "I'm a scary vampire creature now, you still not scared of me?"

"You're still Faith," Dawn resumed her gentle caresses of Faith's skin, missing the predatory looks that Faith was shooting at her. Or if she did notice she pretended not to. "You're still gentle."

"Yeah right!" Faith scoffed. "I don't think so Kiddo, how would you like it if I broke out of the ropes and shoved you to the floor. These ropes can't hold me, I'd just snap through them."

Dawn's caresses were leading further up her arm. "Hmmm, yeah... you and your amazing strength, what would you do then?"

Faith was almost enraged that she couldn't sense any feelings of fear from this girl. Faith strained her body forward and almost growled at her. "I'd fucking bite you... drink your life..."

"Would you just bite my neck? Or other parts of me too?" Dawn leaned into the brunette slayer and moaned quietly. "My breasts? Would you like to bite these too?" Dawn cupped her breasts and offered them too Faith's hungry eyes.

Faith involuntarily changed to game face and she tried to pull herself away from the temptress. "Dawn you gotta stop before I lose myself."

Dawn was about to get up on the bed and sit astride her when Giles burst in. "Dawn get downstairs now."

"See you later Faith." Dawn waved as she left.

"Yo, G-man you got these a little tight... kinda loosing circulation."

Giles strode over to the bed and wrapped his hands around her neck. Faith flinched and grunted. "Whu-whu-"

"Do not fucking bite Dawn, do not even entertain the notion, right? If you do I will personally kill you... I know you're not immortal." Giles threatened. "Whatever about biting Buffy – she can protect herself – Dawn is a child, you are not to go anywhere near her."

Faith coughed and tried to struggle out of his strong grip.

"Am I understood?" Giles squeezed a little tighter.

"Yes, yes!" Faith strained her voice.

He released her and walked out of the room, leaving her coughing.

*****

Buffy stared blankly into space. Willow thought she was a freak, so did Tara and so did Dawn and so did Giles. The only person who didn't think she was a freak was chained to her bed and Buffy wasn't allowed to see her. She didn't mean to enjoy it! She didn't mean to tease Faith... she meant to push her away. She was so pissed off that she didn't come, she had been so close and it would have taken a single touch to push her over the edge. Then again, everyone was warning her against Faith. But she was so alluring and it felt so fucking good, no doubt about that.

"Buffy, could I eh... have a word please?" Giles gestured to the kitchen.

Buffy got up and followed him. "What's up?"

"I caught Dawn in with Faith... now don't jump to conclusions but do not let them stay in the same room together with no supervision. Dawn isn't as innocent as you depict her to be Buffy. She was seducing Faith. I hope I scared Faith into not ever touching her, I'm just warning you Buffy."

Buffy's eyes widened. "Thanks Giles."

"Buffy you let her bite you... I can't understand it." He walked over and brushed her hair off her neck to reveal the big mark that the brunette slayer had left. "It just seems so wrong."

Buffy pulled away from him. "I don't understand it either Giles, it doesn't hurt... on the contrary it feels amazing."

"But she's killing you!" Giles tried to make her see.

"I know!! Don't you think I've realised that?! But I've also realised that she couldn't kill me, she couldn't live with herself if she did. I really think she's trying to do everything right, she's trying to make up for what she did wrong. This vampire thing isn't her fault. It's another step for her to overcome."

"And for you to enjoy?" Willow walked into the kitchen.

"It's not like that!" Buffy cried.

"Buffy, there were bite marks all over your body!" Willow could see the shock on Giles' face, he obviously hadn't known that. "I can't believe that you still want to share your bed with her."

"If you understood the pleasure... the relief... you'd all want her sleeping in your beds!" Buffy paused and reflected on what she just said. "But she wouldn't, because I wouldn't let her."

"I wouldn't want her!"

"So is that why she is sleeping in your bed?" Giles decided to intervene. "So you can feel some kind of release? A relief by means of pain?"

"So I can feel anything... it's hard for you to understand but she's my salvation and I'm hers, I think I understand it now." She stared at them. "I can't explain it to you."

"It's sick and twisted, that's why!"

"No, it's not. I've gotta help her get through this. She needs me, she understands me and I need that." Buffy moved to go up stairs.

"Dawn needs you too." Giles mumbled.

"And I need her, but not in the same way as Faith."

*****

Buffy walked in the room, the sight of the dejected slayer on her bed almost broke her heart. Her arms were held apart, the ropes cruelly cut into the skin, and her head hung down... as if she had admitted defeat.

"Faith...?"

"Buffy!" Faith's head shot up and she stared in amazement at the mirage walking towards her. "I didn't think they could let you come."

"They can't stop me."

"These ropes are really fucking tight... could you please loosen them just a little?" Faith struggled and arched against the headboard, her face twisted in a grimace of pain.

"Sure thing Faithy..." Buffy loosened the knots, knowing that if Giles found out he would kill her.

"Oh God, so much better... now my blood is flowing properly again!" Faith joked, but she could see that Buffy didn't believe her. "Buffy I'm fine, ok?"

"You're not fine! You're in pain, hungry... you look like... you look like you are seriously sick..." Buffy sat astride her thighs and looked into her eyes. "I really wanna help you."

"When I first arrived I looked ten times worse B and you know that. I look better than I did because I drank from you. I shouldn't have, I know that. But for some reason the serum is taking over and I think it's slowly changing me into a proper vampire, soon I won't be able to go out in sunlight or see my reflection." Faith snorted.

"We'll sort this out Faith."

"My body isn't fighting it anymore, it's surrendered, I can almost feel it rushing inside me and it makes me feel so alive!" Faith's eyes flashed with emotion. "Immortal Buffy, immortal... something I could never even dream to have as a slayer. As a slayer I could fucking die tomorrow. As a vampire I'm free from diseases and your normal average deaths."

Buffy grabbed her hand; subconsciously her mind registered how cold it felt. "Faith you don't want this! You've absolutely got to fight it! I don't want you as a vampire, I know you don't to be a vampire either."

"You don't?" Faith asked quietly. "Then why the fuck did you let me bite you?"

"I-I don't know, it was a mistake."

"A mistake you'd repeat if you were given the chance." Faith grinned. "B, you can't lie to me."

"I don't wanna discuss this right now... I want to help you."

"Let me bite you."

"Faith!"

"Oh come on... like it doesn't pull your chain... you fucking loved it. I'm just annoyed they came in before you could come... we could do it now. If you're quiet." Faith's face vamped.

Buffy jumped off her thighs. "Faith I-I... shit... I can't do this..." She fled from the room, Faith smiled to herself. Buffy really wanted it, she could lie to her but Faith knew otherwise because she could sense Buffy's need.

*****

The phone rang and Dawn picked it up.

"Hello?... yes hold on a minute." She held the phone away. "Giles, it's for you... some English guy."

Giles walked over and took it from her. "Hello?"

*Mr. Giles, it's Michael Rolland here. We know you have Faith and it would be in your best interests to hand her over to us. We can sort out this problem.*

"Ah no, I don't think so. You lied to us and I don't trust people who lie, Mr. Holland. Explain to me how I can cure Faith and maybe she'll come back to you when she is recovered."

*Don't be ridiculous, she can't stay with you in her state. She'll escape and God knows what damage she'll do before we can catch her again.*

"Give me the cure and we won't have to worry about that."

*First of all, who said anything about a cure Mr. Giles? And secondly, she belongs to me, you have to hand her back.*

"She is not your tool, she is a person and she does not deserve to go through this! There must be a cure!"

*Maybe there is a cure, my scientists just haven't discovered what it is yet.*

"So you're going to just let her change into a vampire?"

*If we had her Giles, then it wouldn't come to that.*

"Why? Because you'd kill her?"

*That remains to be seen. Now I don't want this to get messy-*

"Goodbye Mr. Rolland."

Giles hung up the phone and Willow was immediately at his side. "What did they say?"

"There's no cure Willow, we'll have to try and do one... maybe there's a spell that will help us?"

"They want to kill her?" Dawn asked from the door of the kitchen.

"They want to get her back and I believe that they wish to eliminate her so she will not cause them any more grief or embarrassment." Giles walked into the living room with Willow and Dawn following him.

He stopped in front of Tara who was sitting on the couch. "Tara, Faith is getting worse... can you think of a spell that may slow it down? Then I want you all to start doing some research on getting Faith back to normal, call Xander and Anya to help us. We're going to need all the help we can get because time is running out, the watcher's will come for her."

*****

Faith dozed all night, waking up often. The pain in her shoulders and across her chest was becoming immense. Her arms were aching and bleeding, no one had been in to check on her for hours – maybe 8 hours. Any movement she made caused a huge amount of pain all over her whole body, she was dozing purely out of exhaustion.

Tara had slept little, she had spent a lot of the night working on a spell that she hoped would delay the antibodies in Faith's system. When she walked into the room and saw Faith in that amount of pain, she ran over to her, the dried blood all over her arms.

"Faith, oh my God... hold on, I'm gonna get a knife and cut the ropes off ok?" Tara began to search Buffy's weapons chest.

"Thanks Tara... fuck..." An aroma hit Faith's nose... her face was trying to vamp but she was fighting against it. She couldn't understand where the smell was coming from. It was blood, fresh sweet-smelling blood, then it hit her. It was coming from Tara... she was a woman after all and it was perfectly normal, just slightly distracting for Faith.

She came over with a knife and started to cut off the ropes, any tug or pull she made, made the slayer cry out in pain. When they were finally off Faith lay down on the bed, hugging her aching body and willing the pain to go away. Tara sat down with her and began to caress her back gently.

"Faith, you're not dangerous right? Will I have to tie you up again?"

Part of Faith's mind was screaming 'Yes!' but the other part was in disagreement. "I'm ok for now." She could feel the demon inside her, wanting to... well... do something with Tara. It was prominent and wanted to take over.

"I was working on a spell to slow down the process of the antibodies, I'm going to get Willow to help me, ok? It's not a cure, just saves us some time. The watchers council in England want you back, but I don't think it's for very good reasons. Giles told them where to stick it anyway." Tara ran her hands through the brunette's hair.

Faith didn't want to bite her and ruin this beautiful person who was being so nice to her, but the will was so strong. "Really? G-man did that for me?"

"Yeah. But there's no cure as of yet. The gang are downstairs working on researching anything they can find about this kind of situation, but as you can guess it's a very rare situation."

All Faith could focus on were Tara's caresses and she knew that if the blonde kept rubbing her back in the way she was Faith was going to lose it. Tara was still talking, filling the silence in the room when Faith looked up at her suddenly, her face in game.

"I can smell you..." Faith pinned the blonde down on the bed. "I just was gonna say that you smell really fucking good, good enough to eat... if you get what I mean." Faith grinned in a feral way at the blonde. "I heard that menstrual blood is the sweetest blood a vampire can taste."

"Faith-"

"I mean, it's not as if you're gonna miss it T, and you'd get to come too... what's to lose?"

"Willow, Buffy... you wanna lose her?"

Tara got through to the brunette. "No... but... it's just..." Her face returned to normal. "Fuck! I hate this!"

"Faith, I'm sorry I really am, but I need to do this spell, let me up."

Faith released the blonde and sat against the headboard watching as she got all the materials ready.

*****

Tara came down the stairs almost two hours later. "I've done the spell and she's sleeping. I'm pretty sure it worked." Everyone was sitting in the living room on the sofas. Everyone except Dawn.

Xander started explaining. "Well, we've found something, it's a ritual that involves chanting and a special herb drink, or something. Faith lays in a circle lined with the blood of a slayer – Buffy." He glanced at the blonde. "Willow got the chanting off the Internet now we have to find the herbs, and I'm sure I have them somewhere."

"What's the drink for?" Anya asked Tara nodded.

Giles cleared his throat. "Well, after I did some research on the serum Faith was injected with, I realised it's not the same type of demon that inhabits a normal vampire. You see the normal demon waits for the person to die and takes over a dead body, with Faith it's different. The demon is inside her while she is living but the demon is getting stronger and stronger and her soul is dying."

Buffy couldn't believe it. "Is it too late?" She asked in a small voice.

"I don't think so, Tara has slowed down the process, she's still all demon-like but it's not going to get worse for a while." Willow put her hand over Buffy's.

"When can we do it?" Buffy asked.

"As soon as I get the herbs, I'm going to the Magic Box to stock up on them." Willow stood up and looked at Anya. "Do you still have the boxes of potions and stuff in the basement?"

"Yes, but you can't steal them, you have to pay!" Anya frowned and Xander looked apologetic.

Willow could see that Buffy was boiling up. "It's ok Anya, I'll fully reimburse you tomorrow."

"Where's Dawn?" Xander asked and looked around. Everyone's heads turned toward the stairs when they heard a groan that was definitely Dawn's.

"Shit!" Buffy hissed and headed towards the stairs at full speed.

*****

After hearing about how they were going to fix Faith, Dawn had left when Tara walked into the living room, and she managed to slip away unnoticed. She crept up the stairs and into Buffy's room. Faith's wrists were hand cuffed to the base of the bed so she wasn't in any pain. Her eyes were closed.

"Faith...?"

"Hey kiddo, how're things?" Faith still hadn't opened her eyes.

"Fine." Dawn stood there at the door of the room fiddling with her hands; she didn't know how to make her move on the slayer.

The brown eyes flickered open. "What's up?"

"Nothing."

"C'mere."

Dawn walked slowly over and watched as Faith breathed in deeply through her nose.

"You know what Dawnie? You smell really, really good." Faith grinned.

Dawn felt as if her knees would buckle from under her, Faith had such a strong effect on her. She could feel her wetness on her thighs, she had taken off her panties in a vain attempt to seduce the slayer, and so far it was working really well. Suddenly she felt really fucking bold. She sat astride the slayer in her very short skirt.

"Can you smell me better now?" She asked in a husky voice.

Faith's eyes closed. "Fuck yeah." She tried to touch her but grumbled when she remembered her wrists were still chained to the bed. "You're not wearing any panties are you?"

"Nope." Dawn pushed up the slayer's tank top so her stomach was showing, then she slowly sat down on her bare skin, Faith growled when she felt her hot wet pulsing pussy on her. Her face vamped.

"Holy shit Dawn!" Faith snapped the handcuffs on her right hand and she forced Dawn's neck down to her mouth and she sank her teeth into her jugular. When she heard Dawn's groan and felt her hips rolling against her stomach, spreading her wetness all over her, she broke the handcuff holding her left hand.

She held her body close with her left hand and then slid two fingers into her tight pussy and began to fuck them in and out. Faith got more turned on when she realised what a sight it must be from behind. Dawn's nubile body gently rocking on her while she pushed two fingers in and out of her pussy, her skirt had ridden up so her ass and pussy were bared to the room.

Then Buffy burst in.

*****

Ok it was arousing seeing something like that, Buffy thought to herself, but it was wrong. She knew that the normal Faith would never do something like that... she hoped. She was giving her the benefit of the doubt, and she knew it. She had gasped in shock, Dawn had lifted her head to see what it was she heard.

"Buffy?!" She had squealed and jumped off the brunette slayer, she fainted from the dizziness. Faith had a smirk on her bloodstained lips.

"Yo, B. Wanna have another go? Your sister seems to enjoy it too, maybe it runs in the family?" Faith laughed and folded her arms under her head.

"Faith... it's not you..."

"Oh but it is babe, this is me in my truest, most purest form... I'm a fucking animal!"

Buffy couldn't move, she was in shock, Faith seemed so real... like it was really her saying those things. Maybe Buffy was wrong about her having changed. Maybe she was still as cold-blooded and as murderous as before.

"Yeah that needs to be put-down." Xander walked in with a tranquilliser gun and shot Faith before she could even realise what he'd done.

"Fuck!" She pulled the dart out of her arm and glared at the two... four of them at the door. Maybe it was six, she couldn't be sure. "I'll get you back... all six of you!"

Buffy and Xander glanced at one another to make sure that there were only two of them.

Faith collapsed back on the bed and began to snore softly.

*****

Buffy felt kinda scared as she watched her blood being drawn into a container, then she looked at a securely bound Faith sleeping on the couch. Maybe this would work. It was a long shot to Buffy, normally to solve a demon problem she had to beat something up. But this was all about spirits, and she couldn't beat them up.

Willow had described it as a 'battle of the mind', for both her and Faith. And whoever else was in the room, probably. A spell like this hasn't been cast very often, it's a very rare situation to encounter so there had been only a few accounts of it ever written up. Buffy glanced at Dawn who was dressed in her pyjamas and holding her neck. She had tried to apologise to Buffy, but the blonde didn't want to hear it.

Well, not at the moment anyway.

"Buffy if you're feeling dizzy, you gotta tell me ok?" Tara stood in front of the blonde to get her attention.

"I'm ok... maybe just a little light-headed."

"I'll take it out then, I'm sure we have more than enough."

Buffy watched as Xander picked up the table. "Oh no, we're not doing the spell in this house, oh no!"

"Then where do you propose we do it?" Giles asked her, cleaning his glasses.

"Outside. Do you know how long it will take for the blood stains to come out of the carpet?" Buffy flinched as Tara took the syringe out of her arm.

The Scoobies sighed, Xander picked up Faith and slung her over his shoulder. "Willow?!" He called up the stairs. "Are you ready?"

"Yeah, I'll be right down!"

"Xander!" Buffy cried, she gently took the brunette from his shoulder and carried her in her arms. "Don't be so rough!"

They walked out into the back garden.

*****

Buffy laid the brunette on the grass, Tara had suggested it, since if the brunette did have fits she wouldn't hurt herself on the grass as she would on the concrete. When Tara began to pour the blood in a circle around Faith's body, the dark slayer began to stir, her face vamped before she awoke. And when she did, Buffy could see that she was really fucking angry.

"Blondie, what the hell are you doing?" Faith ripped the ropes around her wrists and then ripped the ones around her ankles.

"Just sit still Demon, don't make it harder than it has to be." Tara's harsh voice surprised the blonde slayer.

Faith tried to step out of the circle, but screamed in agony as she was thrown back. "Fucking Bitch! This isn't gonna work, not this time! I've waited five hundred goddamn years for this chance and I'm not gonna let it go."

"Who the hell are you?" Buffy's eyes widened.

"You don't fucking know me girlie, I'm just that little bit of bad that you see everywhere. I finally found a body that will accept my evil, don't think this slayer is gonna kick me out of here Witch." Faith's insane eyes turned to glare at Tara.

Willow finally walked outside. She stood a safe distance from the circle and blew a powder in on the slayer, making her sneeze. Willow chanted in Latin, then in English.

"Spirits of the undead, release this living being, take back your evil it does not belong here."

Tara mumbled some words in Latin over and over again. The two witches stood opposite one another at each end of the circle. The rest of the scoobs stood back, Giles turned to Buffy.

"They're performing a kind of exorcism, Faith will be in pain after this, her whole body will be bruised, she will feel violated."

"How do you know?" She whispered back.

"I did some research. I'd heard a rumour about the serum they used to inject Faith with. It's a very old potion; I don't think Rolland knew the fullness of its effects. Rolland believes that Slayers are expendable, he has no emotions towards them, one slayer is as good as the last to him." Giles watched as Faith stood in the middle of the circle, seemingly unfazed by what was going on. She still had a contented smirk on her face.

Buffy followed his gaze. "Is this even going to work?"

"I hope so, maybe they're missing something."

"What?"

"You, maybe... call out to her. Call out to Faith, she's there, she'll be able to hear you." Giles nudged her on the back. "Maybe now you'll understand why you are her salvation."

*****

Buffy stepped forward, Faith turned towards her. Her smirk turned into a satisfied smirk. "You know what? You're a great lay B. Maybe when the witches-bitches have given-up we can have some one-on-one time. Whaddya say?"

"Faith, I know you're in there. Why aren't you fighting this? Why won't you defeat this demon?"

The demon laughed, but it was Faith's laughed and it hurt Buffy so much. "Shut up Babe, she ain't listening."

"Faith! Please!"

Willow and Tara's chanting continued.

"Faith! Please!" The demon mocked her. "Give up already! She's not fucking listening to you Buffy! You shoved her off a roof with a knife in her gut, why should she listen to you?!"

Buffy felt a tear stream down her cheek. "Faith, things have changed, you wanna fuck everything up? You fuck up what we could have had?"

"Oh and then... wait for this... you stole 8 months of her life." Faith laughed again. "Yeah, you really want Faith back."

"I do!" Buffy cried. "Faith I want you!"

The Scoobies watched as the brunette's body visibly flinched; the demon's eyes were incensed with rage, she threw herself at the blonde who had unknowingly come to the edge of the circle. Buffy fell back and so did the brunette.

"Faith, fight this... for me..."

This time the demon cried out in pain as Faith's body arched from the ground.

"Come on Buffy! Keep saying it! We're almost there!" Giles called.

"You don't want her, she's nothing to you, you're nothing to her. She doesn't give a flying fuck about you..."

"Faith means so much to me..."

"What are you gonna do when she has no fangs? She can't bite into your breasts and make you so wet... or your neck as she drives her fingers inside you." Faith lay weakly on the ground. "She'll be too boring for you, girl-who-fucks-the-undead."

"Faith! Fight this!" Buffy lay on the ground, her hand brushing off her blood on the grass.

"And I know every detail B, how tight you were around her fingers... how you fucking squealed when she bit into your breast..."

"See? Orgasm Buddies." Anya nudged Xander and nodded to the slayers. He shook his head in resignation.

"Faith please... don't give up on this... I need you in my life... I need you... I need your synchronised slaying, your ability to know what I'll say before I say it, the way you know just what I want and give it to me before I ask for it."

"Buffy?" Faith's face changed to normal for a second, her eyes were bloodshot.

"Faith! Come on!"

The demon came back, laughing. "Come on slayer!"

"Faith I-I..."

"Slayer, you going soppy on me?"

"Faith I love you..."

Faith's body slammed on to the grass hard, she screamed as a light shone from her body.

The chanting stopped, the witches sat down heavily and everyone was silent apart from Faith's shallow breathing.
