"Help!" The scream came from the Sunnydale cementry.
Buffy took off running toward the scream. She got there about the time to see this raven haired girl dust the vamp.
Buffy walked up to the girl, "I'm guessing you're the new slayer?"
"Yeah, Danielle actually." She said.
"Oh, sorry, I'm Buffy."
"Not to be rude or anything, but I thought there was only one slayer." Danielle said already knowing about Buffy.
"Well there is," Buffy ran her fingers through her hair, "but see I kinda died but came back."
"Oh, that's cool."
"Yeah, you wanna go to the Bronze I'm supposed to be meeting my friends."
"Sure." Faith said.
As they walked to the Bronze, Faith noticed a blue bracelet around her left wrist. The bracelet had something written on it, but she couldn't tell what it was.
Once they got there they sat down and talked to the gang.
A little later, Riley came in and started flirting with Buffy and asked her to go out with him.
Danielle got jealous. "I'm gonna go dance." She jumped up and ran to the dance floor. Every now and then, looking toward the gang to see if Riley had left yet. He hadn't but Willow and Tara had.
Danielle watched the two witches enter the bathroom.
In the bathroom:
"I think Danielle has a little crush." Tara said to Willow.
"On who?"
"Buffy."
"Yeah I think the feeling is mutual, Buffy kept glancing at Danielle. But Buffy's not sure if she is a lesbian or not."
"Danielle looked as if she was gonna punch Riley."
"Yeah well if I was strong enough I would do it for her. The dude is a wuss."
That ended the convo as Willow and Tara walked back to Buffy.
"He finally leave?" Willow asked.
"Yeah." Buffy replied a little relieved.
Danielle then returned. "Hey, I figured I'd tell ya'll I was heading out I'll see ya'll later."
"Bye." Everyone said.
After two months of getting to know Buffy and her friends, hanging with them, and Riley's many attempts to get at Buffy, who was giving in.
Danielle thought that she didn't have a snow balls chance in Hell with Buffy. So she packed her bags and went to the Bronze one last time.
She met up with Willow and Tara who were waiting on Buffy. Tara got up to get some drinks.
"I know you like Buffy, Faith." Willow said softly.
Danielle looked at her surprised, "How did you know it was me?"
"I had a dream, about this dark haired girl in the 4th grade, who always picked on Buffy."
"Oh, I had to come back to see her. I was trying to run from my past and thought changing my name world make me forget."
"Did it work?"
"Nope."
"You should at least tell Buffy who you really are."
"Why?"
"She looked for you after you left."
Faith's eyes held disbelief. "What about Riley?"
"She don't really like him. She's trying to hide who she really is… She's afraid."
"She's bisexual?"
"I don't think so."
"Oh." Faith thought about it for a while, then said, "I'm fixing to go."
"Okay."
Faith got up and walked out.
Buffy noticed Danielle leaving the Bronze, "Where's Danielle going?"
"She's not feeling too well." Will answered.
"Oh."
They talked for a little longer then left.
When Buffy got home she found Danielle on her porch.
"Hey." Buffy said.
"Hi."
"What are you doing here? Will said you weren't feeling good."
"She lied. I had to think."
"About what?"
"I think I should tell you who I really am." She lowered her head, then raised it back up, "I'm Faith Danielle Spencer."
Buffy looked at her.
"Faith Spencer."
"You're the girl that picked on me tried to paint and cut my hair."
"Yeah sorry about that… I also thought it was time for me to give you this back." Faith handed Buffy a wooden box.
Buffy opened it. "You kept it?"
"Yeah, kinda stupid, huh?"
"No actually it's kinda sweet that you kept the ponytail holders and the hair you cut off."
Faith smiled. "Well, I'm leaving town."
"Where are you going?"
"I dunno yet."
"Call me when you know."
"I will, bye, Buffy." Faith said walking away.
Buffy looked at the box and whispered, "I'm tired of being afraid." She ran to catch up with Faith, "Faith, wait."
Faith turned around.
"Please stay." Buffy whispered to Faith.
"What about Riley?"
"He's not my type."
"Oh?"
"He's not, but you are. I'm tired of pretending to be something I'm not."
Faith smiled. "Okay."
"You know after you left? I came looking for you but couldn't find you. I looked for over a month. After you were gone a week everyone told me it was useless cause you were no where to be found, but I kept looking anyway."
"Sorry, I ran from my dad, to look for my mom, but couldn't find her."
"It's not your fault." Buffy said pulling Faith in for a hug. After a little while the wind started to blow harder, Buffy grabbed Faith's hand.
Faith then looked down at the blue bracelet and the word on it.
Faith.
Faith smiled and took her inside the house and up to her room.
