"Enemies" like she was supposed to if she followed the script...*sigh*
Feedback: OH MY GOD YES!!!!
She was lost in the middle of a crowd. She couldn't think straight...everyone was talking so loud and walking in all directions. She had no idea where to go or who to talk to but she couldn't show it. She felt confused and overwhelmed...but she was all alone.
She was in college now.
Buffy Anne Summers kept walking straight ahead to the biggest building she saw. It had to be an important part of UC Sunnydale since everybody seemed to be heading in that direction. She couldn't find anyone she knew...everyone was a stranger.
She entered the building in awe... it was so much bigger than her high school. And it was only a small part of the campus. She headed over to the information counter and waited patiently in line.
"Oh, fuck. I cannot believe this shit. Now I have to stand in a fucking line?" someone cursed rather loudly behind her. The whole room seemed to stop at her words and she heard a few giggles.
She looked over her shoulder, expecting to see a beet red embarrassed girl looking shyly down but instead she saw a tall brunette with heavy eye makeup, leather pants and a cleavagey top staring at her. Buffy smiled shyly and the other girl smiled back a little, although it didn't seem that honest. It was like Buffy's friendliness annoyed her.
"Hi...I'm Buffy Anne Summers" she said giving the other girl her hand. They were complete opposites. Pastel clothes against dark leather, hazel eyes against dark eyeliner and straight blonde hair against wavy black.
She shook it lightly and eyed Buffy up and down, making her a bit uncomfortable.
"I'm Faith..." she heard a couple of girls still giggling behind her and turned around for about 5 seconds and shot them an intimidating look. They shut up immediately. She turned back with that smirk on her lips like nothing had happened "Faith Reeves."
"This is all pretty crazy, huh?" Buffy said looking around trying to make small talk. She wasn't really interested in being friends with Faith, she seemed a bit too edgy to her.
"Yeah...you look wicked freaked" Faith chuckled and Buffy looked at her again. She didn't like the way Faith talked to her and made fun of her.
"You can say that...it's just different from what I'm used to. You look right at home here."
"Well, I don't care much. But yeah...I can imagine how bad it is for you. Nobody knows you here. You look like you're one of those girls that were so popular in high school. It must be real tough." She said sarcastically
Buffy glared at Faith again and heard the sign indicating she was the first one in the line. She didn't bother to say 'bye' or anything to the dark haired girl; she just walked over to the woman in the counter sighing.
"Hi, I'm Buffy Anne Summers and I'm looking for Stevenson's...I haven't found my dorm yet."
"Stevenson's is the first building to your left. Right near the bike track." She typed something in the computer and handed a card to Buffy. "Here's your identification card. Try not to loose it and keep it with you at all times during this first few days."
"Okay...thanks" she said smiling. She walked over to the exit and looked one last time over her shoulder. Faith was still staring at her. She waved a little goodbye to Buffy with a sarcastic smile. *What a bitch.... * Buffy thought.
Buffy had finally found her dorm room after about 15 minutes and lots of walking. It was bigger than she had expected it to be and she decided to take the right side and bed. She was putting a few necessary things out of her bag and in the closet till she moved the rest of her stuff in later that day.
She sat down on the bed and sighed. *Well, this isn't so bad, after all...*
She got up and walked around the room, looked out the windows and at the ceiling. She would be living here for the next year...that seemed rather weird. She got up and went over to the hall...she wanted to check out the bathroom.
As she walked she saw a boy walking only in his towel like it was the most natural thing to do. She held her laugh and her eyes followed the boy as he walked. She didn't pay attention and ended up bumping into someone.
"Girl, stop staring at the naked guy and pay attention" the girl said loudly so everyone would hear.
"I'm sorry" Buffy said embarrassed gathering some paper from the floor. She looked up and saw Faith. *Oh...this is just great.*
"It's you...B, right? You're here too...What a coincidence."
"Yeah..." she said getting up and handing her the papers. "And it's Buffy."
"Sure...Buffy. Look, honey, you're gonna have plenty of time to see naked people in college. No need to cause accidents for it."
Buffy smiled, annoyed at her arrogance.
"Okay, Faith. It was nice seeing you..." she said walking past her "...*again*" she muttered under her breath.
Buffy entered the bathroom and checked the showers and mirrors. It all seemed pretty clean...it wasn't that bad. She had heard horror stories about college bathrooms and all the germs and diseases they carried and she was glad to see nothing like that. She walked back to her room and greeted some familiar faces from high school. She didn't really know their names but I guess it felt nice to everyone to feel like they knew everybody. She noticed the door was open and looked around.
Buffy opened the door and saw Faith sitting on the other bed, checking to see the softness. She looked at her wide-eyed and finally realized something. Faith looked up at her and smirked.
Faith was her roommate.
*Oh, nooo...This just can't be happening* Buffy thought. She just wanted to close the door and run out of there without Faith seeing her but it was too late. She saw Faith's head moving up, a pair of brown eyes locked on her and a slow amused smirk forming on her face.
"Hey B.." said Faith while staring at the wide-eyed Buffy "Wait a minute! You're the one that's going to live here??"
Faith started to laugh and got up putting her hands on her waist. "Guess we're gonna be roomies."
Buffy stood there looking at Faith still for what seemed like centuries. Faith walked over to her and waved a hand in front of her face mockingly.
"Hey...Buffy, right? You okay? I don't bite you know..." she looked up thoughtfully "Well, actually...I may, if you ask me politely."
Buffy closed her eyes, took a deep breath and opened them again putting her best "I'm-fine-nothing-is-wrong-tralala" smile on.
"Yeah...yeah...I'm just a little surprised, that's all. I thought they would put me with someone more..." she paused for a few seconds. Faith took one step towards her and crossed her arms in front of her in a menacing pose.
"More what?"
"More like me...Since I filled that application form so they would put me with a roommate that had something in common with me, you know? And I tried to see if I could contact my roommate earlier but they said they didn’t have much info on her." She walked past Faith and sat down on her bed.
"Well, if we're stuck together..." Buffy noticed the tone of Faith's voice when she said 'stuck' "...we must have something in common right, babe?"
"I guess...." Buffy saw Faith looking at her sitting in the bed "Oh! I took the right side if you don't mind..."
"No..it's fine. I've had lots worse believe me...just the fact that I actually have a bed is an improvement."
Buffy looked at Faith sympathetically. Faith seemed uncomfortable and turned her back to her walking over to the closet. Even now they didn't know anything about each other Buffy could tell that there was more to Faith than what met the eyes. She seemed to hide something and that showed through when she made sarcastic remarks about Buffy so they wouldn't get really close. It was like she was trying to protect her from something.
"This room is not that bad, huh? There's lots of closet space" Faith said opening her bag and throwing some stuff into the closet.
"Yeah...It's good cause I always over pack and I usually over pack when I'm going out of town for like a week. Imagine a year" Buffy said yawning.
"Yeah... All the useless crap people like you carry will have its place here" Faith said throwing her boot in the closet and shutting it. Buffy rolled her eyes.
"Yeah...the 'crap' is coming later. How about you, Faith? When's the rest of your stuff coming?"
"This is my stuff, B. Don't need anything else." She sat down on the opposite bed in front of Buffy and chewed on her gum loudly.
"That's all? Some leather pants, a few tops and a boot?" Buffy said remembering what Faith had thrown into the closet. It wasn't that hard since she didn't have much to remember.
"Yeah...it's all I need. There's nothing like a pair of leather pants and some attitude. Nothing can compete with that. Oh. And makeup of course. I don't like the washed up look, you know? Peachy blush, taupe shadow..." she blew a gum bubble and chewed again looking at Buffy deep in the eyes.
Buffy nodded. She did like the washed up look, she was wearing it and Faith obviously was trying to tease her but she wasn't in the mood to argue.
"So...do you have a boyfriend?" Faith said matter of factly.
"Yeah, actually. His name is Michael McLean. We have been going out since last year."
"Mm...Will there be any boinking in this room, then?"
"Excuse me? That's none of your business..."
"Well, it is if I'm living here. I have a right to know if I'm going to be able to sleep, you know?" Faith said defensively.
Buffy didn't know what to say. She just looked down at the floor annoyed.
"Well...this has been incredibly fun, but I must go out." Faith said getting up and grabbing a jacket "See you later, B. We'll bond some more."
"Yeah..see you" Buffy said waiting till Faith left. When she did she sighed rather loudly and laid back on the bed
*This is gonna be a long year...*
After her first week at UCSL Buffy Summers didn't feel as uncomfortable. She had actually made some friends like Willow the cheery redhead girl she had Psych with and Tara, her best friend. They had hung out together a couple of times after class and they were fun. And now that her boyfriend, Michael was back in town from his summer vacation she had a feeling things would get much better.
Faith on the other hand, didn't really like to socialize. And apparently she didn't really like to go to classes also. But it's not like Buffy actually had the chance to meet Faith's friends if they existed since she had managed to get a schedule that conflicted with Faith's so they wouldn't have any classes together and wouldn't be in their room at the same time. Except at night, of course. And even then Buffy pretended to be tired or she turned on the TV so they didn't have to talk.
At one of those nights, Faith started to change to go to bed. Buffy was already wearing her pajamas and she was reading a book sitting on her bed.
"Oh…B. One of your new little friends called. I think it was… Oak."
“You mean Willow?” Buffy said giggling a bit.
“Oh, yeah…” Faith chuckled too and walked over to her closet. Moments like those were rare.
When they actually got along.
“Hey…tomorrow they're having one of those so-called frat parties. You know? The beer and the sex. I have nothing else to do in this shitty town so I’ll go. Wanna come with? You look like you could use some fun. Cause you know…it’s called “college”, not “convent”.”
Faith said that sentence in a tone that clearly showed she didn't really want Buffy to accept it, it was more like a reason to pick on her. Buffy pretended to think for a minute.
"Sorry...Me and Michael are going out for dinner tomorrow night." She closed the book she was reading and smiled, "Sorta like a romantic thing...it's been so long since I've seen him."
"Oh...I get it. Can't wait to jump his bones again, huh? I was feeling a little frustration in your voice." Faith said taking off one of her day tank tops to put on one of her night tanks. She didn't mind at all about being naked in front of Buffy, even now they almost didn’t know each other, but the blonde always looked somewhere else when that happened. "Well...when am I gonna meet 'the boyfriend'?" Faith said gesturing quotation marks, her breasts jiggling lightly with the movement. It was a little cold so her nipples were hard and erect.
"I don't know... We’ll see." Buffy looked away and yawned to divert attention and turned off her lamp. "Good night, Faith."
Faith mumbled a "'night" and turned off her lamp too, lying down on her bed. Buffy didn't really want to introduce Michael to Faith cause well.... God knows what she would say to him. Plus, Faith was way too attractive and guys are into the whole bad girl vibe she has. Not to mention, her great body.
Not that Buffy looked anyway...
The next day Buffy entered her room and found Faith in the phone. She rolled her eyes cause Faith was supposed to be in class (she was *always* "supposed to be in class")
"...yeah. It's at Delta Capa something. Those greek words." She said on the phone then laughed loudly and looked at Buffy smiling "Letters, words, whatever. It’s all foreign crap…. Well, I invited her, but she said you guys were going out for dinner....Uh huh.... I know...we're in college. It's time for some debauchery."
Buffy looked at her wide-eyed. She was talking to Michael??? Her *boyfriend* Michael?
"Okay...you can pass here tonight and pick us both. Don't worry, she won't mind. Sure...she's right here, hold on. Nice talking to you too. You’re very nice too. See you later, Michael. Bye." She handed the phone to Buffy "It's your honey. Sexy voice..." she said as Buffy walked towards the window and away from Faith as she slapped the blonde's ass playfully.
Buffy rolled her eyes and put the phone on her ear.
"Hello? Oh, hi honey...Yeah, she's really nice." She felt her jaws clench with anger. "Sure...I don't mind we're going to the loud frat party instead of the quiet, romantic dinner...” she said sarcastically while Faith laughed “Okay, see you then.... I miss you too. Bye." She put the phone down and glared at Faith.
"Why did you do that?"
"Do what? Talk to him? Be nice?" Faith said shrugging.
"I don't want you to interfere with my life, Faith."
"Excuse me? I'm not inter..whatever with your life. It's not like I'm going out with him alone! I casually mentioned the party and casually invited you two."
"Oh, and then you casually hit on him, right?" she said raising her voice. "Stay away from my boyfriend. I didn’t want to go to this party. I didn’t want your help or your invitation, Faith. Back. Off."
Buffy got her bag and left the room, shutting the door behind her.
Buffy spent the entire day outside, either hanging out with Willow or getting the necessary books for the semester at the library. She didn't want to go back to her dorm room and face Faith after the nervous breakdown she had.
She didn't know why she had gotten so mad at Faith over that stupid phone call. She knew she was being a bitch for no reason, and maybe that was the reason she didn't want to go back.
But it was getting dark out and she had to get ready for the party. It was better going to it than not seeing Michael at all.
"Willow, I have to go now...My roommate invited me and Michael to some frat party" she said rolling her eyes.
"Oh!! Frat parties must be fun! Not that I ever been to one...but, you know, frat...party! It's like tradition" Willow blabbed excitedly and Buffy smiled.
"Yeah...I guess. I'll call you tomorrow then, okay?" Buffy got up getting her bags.
"Sure...we can hang out. And I want to meet your boyfriend, Buffy" Willow gave Buffy a peck on the cheek and she waved the blonde a "bye" as she walked towards her dorm.
"You're here..." Faith said surprised. She was almost ready. Her makeup was done but she was only wearing a towel. Her eyes were smoky black and her lips were bare but with a lot of clear pearly gloss. Her hair was loose and wavy and she looked absolutely gorgeous.
Buffy put her bag on her desk and took a deep breath.
"Look, Faith..."
"Buffy, I'm sorry" Faith said abruptly, cutting her off. Buffy looked up surprised.
"You're what?"
"Sorry...Look, I shouldn't have asked Michael to go to the party. I pissed you off and... I didn't want to. I'm not interested in your boyfriend *believe me*. That's just the way I am with people. You're not that bad, actually... So, yeah. I'm apologizing. Do you think things could get back to the way they were before? No yelling at me and shutting the door at my face?"
Buffy chuckled and looked up embarrassed.
"Sure...And, I'm sorry too."
Faith smiled at her amused and crossed her arms in front of her.
"You are?"
"Yeah...I overreacted."
Faith shrugged and walked over to her closet.
"No big...everybody has PMS, B." She looked back smirking at the blonde girl.
Buffy nodded smiling. Faith would never change...
"I just don't look good in this" Buffy said eyeing herself up and down in the mirror.
"Shut up. You look wicked. You have to be more daring, B. The whole flower preppy look is way off" Faith said, "Here, I'm all ready" she put on her jacket and smiled at Buffy.
She was wearing dark denim tight pants with a leather halter-top.
"You look great. See? You can pull it off. There's no way I'm going to the party in these scarlet leather pants."
"Yes...you...are. Michael's gonna lose it when he sees how hot you look."
"You think I look hot?"
"Umm...yeah.." Faith said embarrassed. She didn't know why she was embarrassed. I mean, what was the big deal? She told other girls they were hot often. But somehow with Buffy it was different.
"Thanks..." Buffy said blushing *I guess I'll go with these on.*
It was an awkward, silent moment and they both sighed when they heard a car pulling up outside and someone honking.
"It's him. You ready?"
Faith nodded and opened the door.
When they got to the party, Faith decided to leave the couple alone. Michael turned out to be a jerk. For Faith anyway...she could see him looking at her breasts through the rear view mirror while Buffy was sitting right next to him, talking excitedly on the way over. He was cute, but looked way too boring.
As soon as Faith left, Michael and Buffy went over to the dance floor and started dancing a slow song together. Faith walked over to the drinks and looked at the couple as she drank some beer. After a few minutes, she was bored as hell and the beer cans seemed very amusing, as she laughed alone.
"Hey...Faith" Buffy said smiling "Where have you been?"
Faith looked up and pointed at the empty cans. Buffy mouthed an "oh" and nodded.
"Do you...I don't know...wanna dance?" Buffy said sheepishly.
"B...thanks, but I'm not feeling that well. I think I'll go over to the bathroom."
"Okay, then...Um, have you seen Michael? He disappeared a few minutes a go..." Buffy said looking around frowning.
*Oh, so that's why she wanted to dance with me...Boredom* Faith thought.
"No, I haven't. See you in a bit."
She got up and walked over to the bathroom. She noticed the door was closed so she put her ear in the door to see if someone was in there.
"I'm telling you, Jay. Tonight is the night" Faith heard Michael talking with someone.
"No way, man...You always say that" the other man laughed.
"Have you seen what she's wearing? She put on slutty clothes, dude. That's like an open invitation to her pants."
Faith's jaw clenched with anger but she kept listening.
"But, dude...Isn't she a virgin or something? Those are hard work!"
"She's not a virgin...I know that. But if I didn't think she was worth fucking I wouldn't even had dated her."
Then she heard both men laugh. *I can't believe the asshole* she thought. Should she tell Buffy? She seemed so happy and content with him and Faith wasn't really close to her to interfere in her personal life.
On the other hand, the guy was a jerk...
"Hey. Whatcha doing?"
Faith turned around and saw Buffy staring at her and the bathroom door.
She froze.
"B!! Shit, you scared the hell out of me..." Faith tried to cover the door, but she knew it was useless, afterall the door was much wider than her (or at least she hoped).
"What's the matter? Who's in there?" Buffy said frowning. She knew something was wrong.
"No one..." Faith tried to lean casually in the door and look around like nothing was happening. She sucked at that.
"Oh, come on...lemme hear!!" Buffy said giggling as she pushed Faith aside and put her ear at the door. She immediately heard Michael's voice and stopped laughing.
"...her tits. That's how much I touched. It's frustrating, man...I mean, I've been with Buffy for almost a year and that's all she lets me grope. And over the shirt, may I add. No flesh contact...I hope I get to better stuff tonight. If not, I'm gonna dump the nun."
Buffy shut her eyes closed and Faith looked at her. Faith looked up, sighing and just felt like killing Michael for being such a pig. *Buffy is so great...He doesn't know how lucky he is* Faith shook her thoughts away. Since when was she that sympathetic with people?? And since when she thought Buffy was great.
"Oh my God..." Buffy whispered lightly as she took her ear off the door. She obviously had heard more bad stuff. Faith put her hand on Buffy's shoulder from behind softly.
"Are you okay? I didn't want you to hear it like that..."
"Yeah...I'm fine" she said without looking back. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hands and Faith could hear that she was holding back tears "I just need to be alone for a while."
Faith looked at Buffy sadly as she walked away. She heard the door opening and put her hand on her waist.
"Faith!" Michael said surprised "What's the matter?"
"I just wanted to talk to you for a bit..." she looked at his friend "...alone."
"Dude!!" the other guy laughed and patted him on the back as he left "Go for it!!"
Faith looked at Michael seductively and motioned for the bathroom. He smiled back at her and entered it.
"I knew it,” he said as he closed the door "I knew you wanted me."
"You got me" Faith said running her fingers through her cleavage "I want you, Michael. If Buffy can't give you what you want, then let me."
Michael walked over to her and started to kiss her, but she turned her head away from him.
"Take off your clothes" she said in a hoarse voice.
"Already? Don't you wanna kiss a little, get me warmed up."
"No... I want it fast" he looked at her frowning "And rough..." Faith clenched her jaws, it was so hard to pretend "...baby."
He smiled and started to take off his clothes, faking a striptease. Faith hold back her laugh but pretended to be into it. He was such a loser, it was laughable. As soon as he got all his clothes off, Faith eyed the man up and down. She pretended to like what she saw.
"Oh...I'm so wet" she said pouting, "Now enter one of the stalls."
He did as she told.
"Close your eyes..."
She walked over to him, with his clothes in her arms and kicked him in the nuts. He yelled in pain and knelled down on the floor.
"Are you crazy???"
"That's for being a pig to Buffy. Don't you *ever* go near her again, you hear me, jerk??? And be glad she didn't fuck you. You wouldn't want any girl to see such a tiny...thing." She said as she looked at his crotch. "And oh, yeah...I'm taking your clothes."
She smiled as she left "...Baby."
She closed the door and walked over to a window throwing the clothes out in the backyard. She looked over her shoulder and saw two girls entering the bathroom. She laughed loudly and looked around, looking for Buffy.
She found her. In the bar. Drinking *a lot* of beer.
"Oh, shit" she muttered. She walked over to her fast and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Faith!!! HEY!!!" Buffy jumped in her arms and hugged her tightly.
"Hey...." she pushed Buffy back and looked at her. She was grinning like an idiot. She glanced back at the bar and saw 6 empty beer cans and since Buffy didn't drink alcohol often she was already a little drunk.
"Faith.... why is the room spinning?" she hiccupped and put her hand on her mouth giggling "Oopsie! Sorry for that. Oh!!! I'm having soooo much fun! Let's dance!!!"
Faith chuckled at drunk Buffy. She looked around looking for a familiar face that could give them a ride but didn't find any. She looked back at Buffy who was looking at her very closely with a serious expression and frowning.
"Your lips are very pouty...and yummy" she said, then she giggled again.
"Okay...let's dance." It was better to do something with her than hear the nonsense she was saying.
Buffy jumped excitedly and clapped her hands. She walked over to the dance floor and started to dance awkwardly running her hands through her body. Faith laughed at her and danced also. She threw her hair and arms around and got lost in the rhythm of the song. She felt someone behind her and stopped dancing. She looked back and saw Buffy grinding her hips sexily to her ass, her eyes closed in concentration. Faith closed her eyes and leaned back to Buffy's body. She felt her arms circling her waist and pulling her closer. They danced like that, moving together until the song ended.
"Buffy...I think we should go home" Faith said looking around again.
"Lookie!!!! Willow is here! She's a redhead!" Buffy started to giggle and Faith spotted Willow in the corner. *Thank God*
She got Buffy's hands and walked over to Willow.
"Hey...Willow. I'm Faith, Buffy's roomate. She's totally wasted and I think we should take her home. Can you give us a ride?"
"Oh...God" she said as she looked at Buffy. The blonde was staring forward in a daze and giggling occasionally as she popped imaginary bubbles "Okay, I can...lemme just get my friend. We were about to leave anyway." She waved over to Tara and mouthed an 'we have to go'.
Tara walked over to them and smiled at Faith.
"Hey..."
"Hi" Faith said looking at the couple as they smiled at each other. She knew instantly they were more than friends.
"Tara!!!!!!" Buffy said suddenly coming out of her daze "Nice clothes...but stop floating, please!" she said putting her finger in Tara's nose.
Tara laughed and they walked towards the door. Buffy stumbled and Faith put Buffy's arm around her neck and put one of her own arms around Buffy's waist holding her as they walked. Buffy leaned in Faith's shoulder and purred. Faith looked down at the blonde and couldn't help but smile.
On their way over to the dorm Buffy had fallen asleep on Faith's shoulder. Tara and Willow talked occasionally while Faith looked out the window. What had happened? Why had she done that to Michael? Why was she so turned on when she and Buffy were dancing and why she couldn't help but smile as she looked at the peaceful girl sleeping next to her?
She shook off her thoughts as they reached the dorms.
"You better go in fast, it'll rain soon" Tara said as she helped Faith get Buffy out.
"Hey...B. Wake up for a bit. We have to walk."
Buffy looked at her groggily and Faith put her in that same position so she could help her move. She looked back at the couple at the car and waved as she heard a thunder. Buffy woke up startled and held Faith's neck tighter.
"You afraid of storms, B?"
Buffy nodded as they reached the door. Faith opened the door and Buffy walked in sitting on the bed.
"Okay, we're home."
Buffy started to take off her top but she couldn’t. She grumbled and stopped taking it off her face covered with the fabric and her arms up in the air. Faith looked at her chuckling and walked over to help.
She pulled the top over her head and Buffy looked up at her, smiling topless. Faith had never seen Buffy’s breasts before and she couldn’t help but look now.
“Faith…I gotta have Faith…” Buffy giggled and looked at Faith wide eyed “OH!!!”
She got up and started dancing and singing.
“Well I guess it would be nice. If I could touch your body, I know not everybody has got a body like you.”
Faith rolled her eyes and laughed. *Not the George Michael song…She really is drunk*
“But I've got to think twice. Before I give my heart away. And I know all the games you play, because I play them too.”
Faith walked over to Buffy and got her arm walking her over to the bed.
“Yeah…yeah…sit down. You need to take those pants off and put on your pajamas and get some sleep.”
“Oh but I need some time off from that emotion. Time to pick my heart up off the floor. And when that love comes down without devotion. Well it takes a strong woman baby. But I'm showing you the door. 'Cause I gotta have faith…”
Faith groaned and pushed Buffy to the bed as she took off her pants. Buffy continued dancing even when she was lying down.
“I gotta have Faith. Because I gotta have Faith. I gotta have Faith, Faith, Faith!!!” she giggled and Faith finished taking her pants off.
Faith walked over to Buffy’s closet and got her yummy sushi pajamas. She kneeled in front of Buffy and helped her put the top on. As she buttoned up she noticed Buffy was staring at her smiling. She stopped buttoning and looked back at her.
“What?”
“You have such pretty eyes, Faith” Buffy said in a serious tone, like she wasn’t drunk at all.
“Okay, B. You’re pretty drunk so you better get some sleep.” She helped Buffy put the pants on and pushed her back under the covers. She covered Buffy and kneeled down next to her.
“You sleep and we’ll talk tomorrow okay?”
Buffy nodded but she was already sleeping. Faith smiled and got up, to put her on pajamas and go to bed.
In the middle of the night the storm had gotten pretty bad. Thunders and lighting were frequent and Faith felt Buffy climbing into her bed.
“B? What’s the matter.”
Buffy looked at her still a bit groggily and laid down.
“Can I sleep with you tonight, Faith? I don’t like storms.”
Faith nodded and lay back down, turning her back to Buffy. Another thunder hit the sky and Buffy hugged her close from behind. Faith put her hand on top of Buffy’s and smiled as she felt the blonde and herself start to doze off again.
Faith woke up the next day after the party lying in her back and noticed that Buffy's left leg was tangled with hers. She couldn't move, so she laid there quietly while she waited for Buffy to wake up. She remembered the previous night in her head and didn't quite know how to respond to it all. She had felt so good and safe with Buffy next to her. And apparently so did the other girl, since Buffy was the one that wanted it at the first place because of her apparent storm fear.
Faith turned her head for a bit and looked down at Buffy sleeping peacefully. A ray of sunshine escaping the blinds was on her golden blonde hair. Buffy moved a little and the ray moved to her eyes so she opened them groggily.
"Nooooo" she whispered groaning.
Faith chuckled and moved Buffy's leg aside gently with her hand, got up stretching and walked over to the blinds to close it a little more. Buffy turned her head to look at Faith and blinked a few times rubbing her eyes.
"What happened?" Buffy said realizing she was in Faith's bed "God....my head" she said rubbing her temples.
"Hey, B." Faith whispered sitting on the floor next to the bed "You were pretty wasted last night at the party so Willow gave us a ride home. And the head thing? Welcome to the wonderfull and painful world of hangovers."
Buffy smiled and groaned a little.
"Okay...beer and Buffy. Not a very good combination. But why am I in your bed?"
Faith smirked lightly at the question.
"You were afraid of the storm."
"Oh my God" Buffy said wide-eyed. She laughed a little "I can't believe I actually asked to sleep with you. I mean...in your bed."
"Why? What's so bad about it?" Faith said without thinking.
Both girls looked at each other and Faith froze.
"Cause...ummm...everybody is afraid of something" Faith mumbled and got up.
"I'm not really afraid of storms...it's just..." Buffy said looking down sadly.
"What?" Faith said getting some water and an Advil for Buffy. She walked over and gave the water to her. Buffy stared back at Faith and she knew this was something that Buffy wasn't ready to talk about yet.
"Just take the pill. It makes the pain a little.... painless" she smiled and looked around the room. "Well...I have to take care of some things but I'll be back in a few, okay?"
Buffy nodded and took the Advil lying back down on the bed. She fell asleep again in a few minutes and Faith left.
A couple of hours later Buffy woke up to a knocking in the door and groaned. Faith always left the door open and with the shitty mood she was she didn't really think anyone would dare to attack her so she told the person to come in.
Michael opened the door awkwardly and peeked inside. Buffy turned her head and looked at the door.
"Hey..." he said softly.
She sat up quickly and looked at him wide eyed. She moaned from the pain and he looked at her with a worried look.
"What are *you* doing here?" she said getting up.
"I...Well, I wanted to talk to you. I didn't see you at the party cause well...I had some problems in the bathroom" Buffy frowned at this "...And when I got out people told me you were, well...pretty drunk and had left with some girl."
Buffy walked past him to her closet.
"It's not some girl...her name is Faith."
"Faith??? Your psycho roommate, Faith???" he said surprised.
"She's *not* a psycho. What the hell are you talking about! She's pretty much the only person I can trust right now. At least she's not just interested in getting in my pants" she snapped back.
Michael looked at her startled.
"What? Buffy....baby...you know I love you. Was it that bitch that told you those lies? You know, she attacked me in the bathroom, she...she.... wanted to make love to me, but I don't love her" he pouted like a baby and tried to act sorry. He tried...
Buffy laughed and took off her pajama top. Of course, she was wearing a tank top underneath so Michael wasn't that thrilled.
"Well, it wasn't *Faith* who told me about it. I heard it with my own ears, okay?"
She turned her back to him to put on a sweater and he took a step forwards to touch her, but she turned and caught his hand.
"Don't touch me!!" she said angrily.
Just as she said that the door opened again and Faith got in with a couple of grocery bags.
"Got us some lun..." she stopped as she saw who was in the room.
Michael looked at her and couldn't help but be afraid.
"You." She put the bags down in the desk and put her hands on her waist glaring at Michael "What are *you* doing here?"
Michael looked at Buffy then at Faith. They both had the homicidal I'll-kill-you-cause-you're-an-asshole look. He swallowed hard and tried to look ashamed.
"I...I...But...I...it was your fault!!" he said looking at Faith and pointing.
"Excuse me???" she said "*My* fault!?"
"How can that possibly be?" Buffy said.
"She...she...gave me these looks. That she was into me or something and...and...I was drunk."
"Beer is not an excuse for anything." Buffy said seriously.
"You should talk...." he muttered.
"HEY! Watch it, Michael. I was never into you...God, I knew you were a loser since I first saw you" she said squinting her eyes.
Buffy looked down sadly and Faith walked over to her.
"I think you should go..." Faith said to Michael as she looked down at Buffy worryingly.
"Yeah...whatever...I guess your friend Willow is not the only dyke in this school" Michael said angrily as he looked at Faith and left the room shutting the door behind him.
Faith sighed and looked up.
"God, where did you find such a loser?" she said laughing.
Buffy stared at her blankly and her chin started to shake while she held back her tears. She closed her eyes tight and a tear rolled down her cheek.
"God..B, I'm sorry." Faith walked over to Buffy and hugged her. She started to sob on Faith's shoulder "I didn't think you cared..."
"Well...I didn't. It's just that I don't think I'll ever be able to..find someone, you know?" she sniffed and pulled back looking at Faith "I've been with Michael for a while and I thought we had something and now I see it was just...I don't know..."
Faith nodded and walked away from Buffy. *God, why am I so touchy feely with this girl?*
"And what was that thing about Willow being gay?" Buffy laughed "Could he say something more absurd?"
"Umm...she is."
Buffy looked at her wide-eyed.
"You know Tara?" Faith said smiling "Did you really think they were just friends? I mean, don't you see the way they look at each other are always comforting each other and always huggi.." she stopped mid sentence as she realized she might as well be describing her and Buffy's relationship.
"Umm..yeah...wow...I'm a little surprised" Buffy said chuckling "But that's cool though...It doesn't freak me out. At least she found someone..."
She sighed sadly and sat on the bed.
"You'll find someone,B. Even though I don't believe in this soulmate shit. You're wonderful and a hottie..." Buffy smiled and looked down "All guys want to get in your pants...and one day you'll want to get into theirs. And you'll fuck them silly and think *Hey, this isn't so bad. Wanna get married?* and there you have it. You found someone."
"Wow...thanks for being so romantic."
"My pleasure...Now, do you want turkey or tuna for lunch? You choose, but the tuna is already mine."
Buffy laughed. Turkey was her favourite anyway...
"..So, in conclusion I think there are several ways one could say Freud has influenced our perception of the human mind."
The bell rang and all the students in Professor Walsh's class started to gather their books.
"Homework for tomorrow is a summary of today's lecture. For those of you who didn't pay attention, good luck," she walked over to Buffy's table and tapped her on the shoulder waking her up from a very long, very not proper nap.
"Ms. Summers..."
"No..." she groaned "Go away, mom..."
Professor Walsh sighed and walked away from her. Willow looked down at Buffy worriedly and shook her out of sleep
"Buffy...what's wrong?"
"What? Oh, did I doze off for a bit?"
"More like passed out...for the entire class," Willow said smiling. "Still having trouble sleeping?"
Buffy gathered her stuff and walked alongside Willow out of the class room.
"Yeah...kinda. It's just hard. I can't stop thinking about me and Michael. I mean...it's not that I loved him terribly and will have to kill myself like a lovesick Juliet but...I can't help but wonder if it was my fault"
"Buffy! No, it's not! Look, I know what you need..."
"To be born again? Under a different name in one of those places where you know the guy you're gonna marry since you were 5 and you don't even have to think about it anymore?"
"Umm...no." Willow stopped walking and grinned at Buffy. "You need a cheer up night!"
"Oh no!" she said rolling her eyes.
"What do you mean *oh, no*? You don't even know what it is!!"
"Well, just the fact that it has cheer up in the name...it sounds like a tacky sleepover with silly 9th grade games and drinks," she said laughing.
Willow looked at her seriously.
"Oh God..." Buffy said, "It is a tacky sleepover with silly games and drinks. Oh, the joy..." she said rolling her eyes.
"Look, don't argue. Faith agrees with me...You look awful, Buffy. You need to get over him."
"Faith thinks I look awful? She said that?" Buffy said hurt.
"Well...not like that. I'm sure she thinks you're beautiful. I mean...what am I saying? Buffy! You're doing this sleepover thing! Don't try to confuse me!"
"Alright...okay… Fine. We'll have your cheer up night."
"YAYYYYYY!!!" Willow said giggling and squealing with happiness. The whole hallway stopped and looked at her. Buffy looked down embarrassed.
"What?? Move along, people," Willow said walking, "Jeez."
"Who else is coming?" Buffy said bored, looking at her nails.
"What do you mean who else? Me, you, Willow and Tara. It's not like we know anyone else, B."
Faith stopped pushing the cart down the grocery store's aisle and looked at the liquors.
"We're not 21, you know?" Buffy said looking for the calories of the ice cream Faith bought.
"Faith Reeves isn't. But Esmeralda Gonzales is," she said whipping out a fake ID from her pocket.
"Esmeralda Gonzales??" she said getting the ID and inspecting it, "Faith, you look as Spanish as I look Asian."
"Details, B. Little details...Here, we have tequila, beer and Bailey's. For Willow. She said it's the only alcohol she can drink without cringing."
"Figures...the stuff is so damn sweet."
"Ha...so you *do* drink occasionally, Summers," she said giving her a wink and a slap in the ass.
"I told you I don't like it when you do that..." Buffy said. Not that she minded really...
"Do we have everything we need?" Faith said picking up the stuff she was about to buy.
"Guess so..."
"Okay, then...Let's go pay."
Buffy pushed the cart and Faith put on a fake Spanish accent.
"Si...Gracias...muy Doritos en la playa," she said as she finished paying, got the bags and left.
Buffy burst out laughing and left after her.
"Much Doritos in the beach????" Buffy said.
"Yeah, B. It's the new Spanish slang." Faith said chuckling.
"You are one of a kind...*F*."
Faith grinned and unlocked the doors of her car. They got in and Buffy immediately turned on the radio. They felt so comfortable with each other now. Nothing like the first days when they couldn't utter a word without sarcasm or bad innuendos. They were friends now.
"OH MY GOD!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!" Willow said squealing when Buffy opened the door to her dorm.
"God, Willow...could you please be quiet when you do stuff like that?" Buffy said pulling her and Tara inside quickly before people started to look for the crazy girl that just yelled.
"She's just really excited," Tara said looking at WIllow and smiling.
Buffy smiled too. They were so sweet together. Before she hadn't given much thought to it but now she saw how much they were made for each other.
"Hey, Red," Faith said smiling, "Nice outfit."
She was wearing pajamas with little kiss marks all over it. Tara was wearing pink sweat pants and a black tank top. Faith was wearing basically the same thing but her black sweat pants were much tighter and the red top was very low cut. Buffy was wearing her usual yummy sushi pajamas.
"I didn't think you would be in pj's already," Buffy said smiling.
"Well, it is a sleepover. Plus, it's 9 o'clock at night. There's not a lot of people in the campus," Willow said looking at Tara.
Buffy nodded and picked up a bowl of chips from the desk.
"You want food?" she said to Willow.
"Oh, I love chips! Tara! They got chips," she grabbed some and ate them.
"She's really hyper.." Tara said, "It's not everyday we have a sleepover."
"With other people, you mean," Faith said grinning.
Willow gagged in her chips and Tara looked down embarrassed. Buffy elbowed Faith lightly in the stomach and Faith mouthed a "What??"
"Look, Buffy and I know you guys are involved," Faith said smiling, "It's no big deal..."
Willow and Tara looked at Buffy and she smiled back at them nodding her head. There was an awkward silence following that and Buffy decided to get some drinks.
"Good idea," Tara said, "I'll help you."
“So...Faith. Are you excited?”
“Well, Red. I don’t really know what to expect…I’ve never had a sleepover before.”
“Never?” Willow said frowning “How come?”
Faith looked down sadly and mumbled a “no reason”.
Willow and Faith sat down at the floor and Faith turned on the TV. “Dark Angel” was on.
“Ugh, I hate that show…” Faith said, “I mean, all that girl do is pout and run. Aside from that…blah.”
“Yeah, I know…she is hot though.”
Faith looked at Willow and grinned. She was finally loosening up.
“Okay…” Buffy said, “Tara and I decided to start with beer first.”
“And save the tequila and the Bailey’s for later….” Tara said handing Willow an iced can.
Buffy and Tara sat down between them and they each opened a can.
“We’re not watching this crap are we?” Tara said.
“I’m bored….” Faith said yawning. They had been watching TV for the past hour and nothing interesting was on.
“Oh! Oh! Let’s play a game!!!” Willow said excitedly as she turned off the TV.
“Hey!! I was watching that!” Buffy whined.
“Come on…it’s on HBO. It’ll repeat about a thousand times.” Faith said.
“Fine...fine. What game are we playing?”
They all looked at each other waiting for an answer.
“I know what we can play…” Faith said grinning evilly. “Let’s play ‘Share and mimic’."
“Share and what?” they said in union.
“’Share and mimic’. We ask each other a question and then the 2 people have to act it out. I had that in drama club…when I was in 7th grade. Don’t ask why I got into the club. It was a place where my mother wasn’t so I was happy.”
“Alright…let’s play Faith’s geeky game,” she said as the others girl giggled.
“Hey!! I am not a geek! Drama club doesn’t equal geeks, you know?”
“Course not, Brown,” Willow said giggling hysterically. The beer was starting to kick in.
Faith looked away angrily and Buffy held back her laugh.
“Okay…we’ll stop. Fine, fine. We’ll play the game. Who goes first?”
“I will.” Faith said “After all, you all made fun of me.” She said glaring at them.
”Okay…fine,” Buffy said.
“B….how far had you gone with Michael?” Faith said smirking again.
Buffy looked at her wide-eyed as Willow and Tara looked at her waiting for the answer.
“You can’t ask me that! How are we supposed to act it out?”
“Oh, just answer it, Buffy!! ” Willow said a little too eagerly.
She took a deep breath and glared at Faith who was still smirking. “Well…we made out a lot and I let him touch my…” the next word was so low that nobody heard it.
“Your *WHAT*?” Willow screamed getting closer.
“MY BREASTS!!!” she screamed. “Happy?"
The girls started giggling and Buffy crossed her arms in front of her pouting.
“Okay... Now you have to act it out.” Tara said.
“No way…. I’m not kissing Faith.”
“We don’t have to kiss, B. I can just put my hand between us and grab your tits,” she said normally.
Tara and Willow giggled as Buffy blushed. Faith crawled over to Buffy and stopped in front of her. Buffy put a hand in front of her mouth and shut her eyes closed. Faith grinned and pulled Buffy to her, taking her hand away from her mouth quickly and lightly touching her lips to hers.
Buffy froze and opened her eyes as Tara and Willow cheered. She started giggling as she felt Faith’s hand touching her breast. They kissed for a few seconds longer, without actually opening their mouths and then pulled apart. Buffy was giggling and flushed. Faith was completely normal.
“Nice kiss, B.”
Buffy laughed and looked down. *As long as we didn’t French each other…*
“Oh, this is fun! Now who goes?”
“Buffy. The person that was chosen now chooses another person.”
“I chose Willow…”
The game continued innocently for another hour and then the girls decided to watch some TV. They were all kinda drunk and about to pass out from tiredness. Willow and Tara decided to go to bed and they were already sound asleep when Buffy decided to go to the bathroom to brush her teeth before she fell asleep with beer breath. Faith followed her to the bathroom to do the same.
“Hey B…”
Buffy jumped startled.
“God, Faith..didn’t see you coming.” She chuckled. “You wanna give me a heart attack?”
“Sorry…Look, I wanted to talk to you about the..umm…kiss.”
“What about it?” Buffy said her mouth full of toothpaste.
“I didn’t want you to think that…you know…that I…umm…cause…you know.”
“Faith!! Finish a sentence, please….” She started laughing from nothing and spit the toothpaste on the sink.
“You’re drunk, huh?” Faith said sadly.
“Umm……..barely,” she cracked up again.
“I’ll talk to you tomorrow then…” Faith sighed and turned to go away.
“Faith! Wait…” Buffy said putting her hand on Faith’s shoulder.
“Yes?”
“I liked it.”
“What?”
“I liked *it*,” she smiled.
Faith smiled back and turned to leave again.
“But…” Buffy said stepping closer to her, “I know a way to make it better…” she grinned and pressed her mouth to Faith’s again.
Faith’s arms stiffened with shock and she closed her eyes slowly enjoying the feeling of Buffy’s soft lips and fresh breath on her own. She put her arms around Buffy’s neck and caressed the blonde’s neck. Buffy pushed Faith onto the bathroom door and put her hands on Faith’s waist caressing her stomach.
Buffy pulled back, her eyes almost closing with tiredness and Faith grinned. She walked Buffy back to their room and laid her down on the bed, covering her.
“Good night,” she said softly while kissing her forehead, “We’ll talk tomorrow.”
“Mmm,” Buffy mumbled and turned her head away sleeping peacefully.
(the point of view changes at times)
Okay....ow...head. Hurting...oh fuck, what is wrong with me?? Why do I keep drinking when I know that I'm a person that just can't tolerate alcohol?? Oh, well...now it's too late to be responsible Buffy. Ugh, I have the worst taste in my mouth...and possibly the worst breath. Gotta brush my teeth before I run into anyone and have to umm..open my mouth.
Okay, I'm up. Head pounding. Ignore it...pain is purely psychological Buffy. Psychological my ass! I walk to the bathroom and try to piece together what happened last night. Cheer up party was sooo not a good idea. Unless the whole purpose was to give me a pounding pain in my head so I could forget my emotional pain. Real smart... I start to brush my teeth and remember that something happened here last night but I can't quite remember....Okay, let's see...Faith was here definitely and...umm...fuck can't remember. Okay...she came after me or vice versa to talk and...oh my gosh!!!!!!!! I spit the water that's in my mouth straight into the mirror as I remember what happened last night.
We fucking kissed.
And I initiated it.
Fuck, fuck, fuck! Why did I have to do that??? It would have been fine if Faith was drunk too and could probably forget it but no...she was sober. Shit...what do I say to her. It was the alcohol speaking! Or...kissing? Whatever. Ugh, I have to talk to her. I mean, I'm not gay! It was just a rebound thing to get back at Michael. Right?
Why are you even questioning that Buffy??? Of course it was!
Just go back there and talk to Faith. I'm sure she's not making a big deal out of it. I mean, it wasn't a big deal. Nothing changed....
I open my eyes and look up at the ceiling. I look over to Buffy's bed and I see she's already up. Probably worried about her breath or something and went to brush her teeth. I smile as I remember what happened last night. I never thought of myself as gay or bi or whatever but nothing ever felt so right as Buffy kissing me.
We fucking kissed.
And she initiated it.
I hope she wasn't too drunk and doesn't remember. No...Faith, what are you saying. B wouldn't do that. You're the emotional fuck up, she's not. She wouldn't just use you as a rebound thing. I could see it in her eyes that the kiss meant something. It meant something to me.
I never thought I'd be so into little miss perfect Buffy Summers. But how could I not.
When she gets back, I'll talk to her. I'm sure she's probably making a big deal out of it as I am. I mean, it was a big deal. Everything changed...
I open the door to our room and Faith's sitting up in her bed fliping through my Cosmo. She looks up and smiles at me as she whispers a "good morning". I look down and mumble a "'morning". Smooth, Buffy. Doesn't show that you're nervous at all. I walk over to my bed and accidentally trip on Willow. Shit, forgot she was sleeping there.
"WHAT???? I"M UP!!!!!" Willow wakes up screaming.
Tara groggily opens her eyes as Faith laughs loudly.
"Sorry, Will!!" I say getting up.
"Umm...it's okay...gentle wake up call, Buffy," she smiles and yawns "We should probably go, Tara. We have that ummm...project to do."
"Project? Oh!!! Right...that very important project that we have to do right now. Let's go."
I look at Faith frowning and she smiles at me in a way that I immediately understand what 'project' they're talking about.
"Well, it was fun!" Willow says getting her bag.
"Yeah...we'd stay longer if it wasn't for the ummm...homework."
"Wasn't it a project?" Faith says getting up.
"Project...sure. Bye guys" Willow smiles and goes out the door.
Faith closes the door and turns around smiling at me. Still smiling? God... what do I do now???
She's looking down now. She looks wicked freaked. What's wrong now?? Did I say something wrong?? Do I gave her my perv smile?? Damn it Faith! You swore you'd never use that again. It freaks people out.
"B? You okay?"
"Yeah, sure" she answers a little too quickly.
"Did you have fun last night?"
"Yeah...I mean. I don't really remember much after I got kinda...drunk."
Doesn't remember? Surely she must remember *something*.
"You don't remember anything?" I say clearly hurt.
She picks up on it and instantly changes her face. She looks at me sympathetically and with pity. I don't need your fucking pity, Buffy Summers.
"I do remember what we...um...that we...kissed."
I instantly feel better. SO she does remember.
"God, what drunk people do huh?" she says laughing nervously.
"Drunk people? I wasn't drunk" I say defensively.
"I know..I just mean the only reason I started it was because I was drunk."
Ouch. Okay. Reality check Faith. It didn't mean anything. Not to her anyway. Just shrug it off.....shrug it off...........SHRUG IT FUCKING OFF.
"ONLY REASON?" I scream defensively.
Nice....very smooth. She turns around quickly her eyes open wide. Didn't think I'd get angry?? Didn't think I'd like being used??
"Well...I mean...ummm."
"Finish the sentence blondie."
She shuts her eye tight and sighs.
"Faith, I'm not gay, okay? And you don't have to scream at me to get your point across. I don't know if you are or if you think that just because we kissed I suddenly am too..."
"*You* kissed *me*" I say my blood starting to boil.
"I was *drunk*. God...can't you just...I don't know....forget it? It didn't mean anything. Sorry if I gave you a wrong impression."
She's lying. I can see it in her eyes. She's lying. She feels something for me, she's just scared to admit it. I'm scared to admit it. God, Faith since when did you become the introspective love sick puppy. Just get it over and tell her. Do something right in your life. Stop being a pussy and don't let her go.
"I just thought that....you know...maybe you felt something for me. Like I do for you. I...I think I love you, B."
She opens her eyes even wider. Great, don't let the eyeballs fucking fall off. Why did you have to say that Faith??? You love her??? You don't even know if you do. Oh, who are you kiddding. You loved her from the time you saw her in that line and how much she hated you. She probably still does.
"Well....I'm sorry for that."
She picks up her purse and leaves. I stare at the door numbly as it closes and can't help but feel hot tears streaming down my face. I touch it cause it's been so long since I last cried. Fuck, I screwed everything up. I ruined verything. Our friendship, everything.
Why do I have to make such a big deal out of everything???
Why did I have to fall in love with Buffy Summers????
...to be continued...
