::welcome to my world she said do you feel alive she said it's all a bad dream she said spinning and you're only here::
I stand outside Hailey's door soaked from the rain. I can't really say how I got this wet. Don't really remember exactly how I got here. Fighting with Buffy does that to me. Oh yeah and she has a fucking brain tumor! Talk about fucking my head up. People die from that shit, her mom died because of it. I loved Joyce, she was the only one who ever really tried to make Sunnydale feel like home for me. And now B.
I don't bother knocking on the door, I know it won't be locked. The downstairs is dark except for the fire in the hearth, my shoes squeak on the linoleum as I cross through the kitchen, as I sink into the rug of the living room I hear glass breaking upstairs, followed by Hailey swearing then giggling. I start up the stairs, again very aware of the noise of my feet. I step onto the landing and make my way to her room. I stop short in the doorway.
Hailey doesn't notice me for a second, neither does the girl in bed with her. I stand watching for a minute, observing the broken wine bottle on the floor. It's the other girl who notices me first.
"Oh shit," she jumps away from Hailey off the bed, quickly pulling her shirt on. Hailey rolls lazily over, when she sees me a smile spreads across her face.
"Faith baby, nice to see you. Why don't you go wait downstairs Maria," she gestures to the other girl who nods and quickly slides past me without looking at me. I watch her descend the stairs then I turn back to Hailey. She is sitting up in the bed now, not trying to cover her half naked body at all.
"Who's that?" I ask taking a step into the room.
"Maria? A friend." She lights a cigarette exhaling towards the ceiling.
"Good friend. What you pick up the first hooker you saw after my house?" I can hear the venom in my own words.
"That hurts," Hailey pouts a minute before smiling again. "Actually I've known her for quite a while. Secrets baby, like I said."
"Bitch."
"Now that's no way to talk to your girlfriend is it?" As I watch she leans over to the bedstand filling a nail from a line of coke I hadn't noticed, and inhaling it deeply.
"You are not my girlfriend, you are nothing to me." I turn to leave, she jumps off the bed grabbing my arm and spinning me around, and pressing her body to mine.
"You leave, and you are never coming back," she snarls into my face, then softening her expression, she brings her lips to almost touch mine. "I could give you anything you have ever wanted. Everything."
"At what price?" I ask licking my lips, my tounge just touching her lips.
"Like I said, we all have secrets, that's mine."
"No thanks." I push her roughly away, she stumbles falling to the ground. She sits glaring up at me.
"You'll regret it Faith, you're nothing to that girl." Once again an evil smile crosses her face.
"Thanks for the car," I turn pulling her door shut behind me. Quickly I go down the stairs, moving through the living room me eyes lock momentarily with Maria's, I shake my head sadly at her and leave the house.

::It's a narrow margin just room enough for regret inch and a half between hey how you been can I kiss you yet? so we talk like nervous neighbors over a tall fence::
In no time at all I find myself back outside my door. I pause outside, unable to face opening it yet. What if Buffy's gone? Even if she still is here, things are still far from right between us. How can I change that? Can it even be changed?
I sigh sliding down the door till I feel the solid ground underneath me. I stare down at the ugly carpet, trying to make sense of the jumble my life has become. A few weeks ago life was perfect, things with Buffy were better than ever, and now all this, my life looks about as messed up as this carpet, covered in stains from the years of use. Ok getting way too self-pitying now. Just need to stand up and take care of shit.
With that thought I push myself up from the floor, with a deep breath I open the door, unsure what I expect to find. Then nothing. The living room is empty, as is the kitchen. So she left, guess that answers my questions. I woulda left too. I sigh and turn to the bedroom, ready to admit defeat and get some sleep. I pause in the doorway, clear in the light of the kitchen is Buffy's body curled up on my bed. She didn't leave.
I lean against the door smiling down at her. She didn't leave. She is so cute when she is sleeping, I always loved to watch her, makes you feel like everything is right with the world, even when you know how far from true it is. I know she needs me right now, she never was good at asking. But I know what she means, something between us is just pure comfort. I step away from the door crawling up onto the bed next to her. I lay down my face near hers and start running a hand through her hair brushing it away from her face. After a few minutes her eyes flutter open, focusing on me she smiles slowly.
"You came back." She says simply. I smile back.
"Yep."
"What about Hailey?"
"You're right about her B. Besides I could never love her the way I do you." I lean in to kiss her, but she pulls back. I frown at her.
"I'm sorry, it's just, I'm still with Gabe, I don't want to hurt you."
"One kiss won't hurt me," I lie. She thinks this over for a second before nodding and I move towards her again our lips meeting and tounge breifly intertwining before I pull back.
"So are you gonna come to Sunnydale with me?" She asks bracing for rejection.
"Yeah, I gotta tell Angel, but yeah I am gonna come, at least for a while." She smiles again before nuzzling down her head on my shoulder.
"Good." I wrap an arm around her, and very soon feel her body relax into sleep again. I can't sleep yet. I know I am about to subject myself to something that could be just a world of hurt. And I will be leaving everything I have established, my apartment, my job, everything. All for her. Because she's Buffy. I know I might regret it, but right now holding her as she sleeps it seems like the most intelligent choice I have ever made, I kiss the top of her head gently, inhaling her scent, before finally allowing myself to drift into sleep.

::I've been searching deep down in my soul words that I'm hearing are starting to get old feels like I'm starting all over again the last three years were just pretend::
I leave early without waking Buffy in the morning, leaving a little note stuck to the fridge.
B, Went to the office to straighten shit out with Angel. Eat whatever you want, be home early. Faith
Not exactly sentimental but then again I never really was when I could help it. Buffy knew me well enough to understand what the note didn't say. Now I just had figure things out with Angel. Cordy was the only one in the office area when I entered. She smiled when she saw me, standing to come over.
"Hey honey," she held her arms out to hug me, sliding into her embrace she held me tightly.
"Hey," I pulled back motioning for her to sit down. We sat on the couch, me curling a leg up under myself facing her. "I gotta tell you something Cordy."
"What's up?" She asked her face clouding with worry.
"It's Hailey, you gotta stay away from her, and you gotta make sure Lana stays away too ok?"
"Why what's up?" Cordy asks the worry replaced by curiosity. I quickly retell her the short version of things with Hailey. "What a dirty little bitch." She says shaking her head when I am done.
"Yeah I know." I smile.
"I mean come on, I know what it is like to have money, and I was a royal bitch, but even I wasn't like that."
"Yes, and we are all very proud of your rehabilitation into a decent human being." I say seriously, recieving a slap on the arm, I pull away laughing. "Seriously though C, this girl ain't gonna change, she is bad news."
"Who's bad news?" Angel asks. I swear that man just materializes. Both of us jump about a mile at the sound of his voice.
"That Hailey girl."
"The rich one?" He asks, nice memory. "What did you say her last name was?"
"Actually I didn't say because I didn't know. But it's Pierce I learned that when we got pulled over."
"Wait, wait, Hailey Pierce? Where does she live?" Both Cordy and I exchange puzzled glances at his outburst.
"Up Mullholland...why?"
"That has to be Victor Pierce's daughter."
"Maybe, and that should mean something?" I ask still not getting him.
"Don't either of you read the papers?" He looks from one of our blank faces to the other, then sighs. "Victor Pierce runs the biggest drug and prostitution ring in the city, practically the biggest on the west coast. But it's never been proven because he has all the cops paid off. But word on the streets is his daughter has been taking over the business while he is vacationing. Been recruiting new girls, and is more vicious than he was."
Both me and Cordy stare open mouthed at Angel, who is busily looking through the mail.
"And how do you know all this?" Cordy asks in awe.
"I get around."
"So Faith could be in trouble then for getting on this girl's badside?" Cordy looks at me worry again in her eyes.
"I wouldn't think so, Hailey has a new plaything every week or two, lots of them end badly, most of them get cars," he continues to flip through a bill. "Too bad you didn't get a car out of it." He glances up noticing me and Cordy's looks at eachother. "Oh man you got a car didn't you? What kind?"
"Pimped out Mercedes convertible," I say quietly.
"Oh geeze," he shakes his head turning away from us again. "Well enjoy it." He starts to head up the stairs and I jump up following him.
"I need to talk to you Angel."
"Yeah sure, come on." We go up the stairs and into the rooms made into an apartment for him, the only light comes from the lamps, the windows have been boarded and heavily drapped in here.
"I am gonna go back to Sunnydale for a while." I say not wanting to drag this out.
"Yeah I know."
"I mean if I come back I will totally...wait a minute? You know?" He looks up at me from his desk.
"Yeah, Cordy had a vision."
"Oh, ok, well mail my last check to Buffy's?" I ask backing towards the door.
"Sure will." He goes back to the work on his desk.
"Thanks." I turn to leave the room, before I can shut the door he speaks again.
"Faith." I lean my head back into the room.
"Yeah?"
"Take care of her." I smile at him.
"Of course." I pull the door shut behind me and head back downstairs.
"Have a good time, be safe." Cordy says from behind her desk. Now I understand her hug earlier.
"I will Cordy, thanks for everything, take care of yourself." She smiles at me nodding I smile back and leave the hotel. Back to Buffy, pack the cars, we can be in Sunnydale before dark.

::Keep loving me make sure you hold me tight let's head for the stars::
Unfortunately it takes us longer than I had anticipated to get back to Sunnydale. It's almost eight by the time we pull up in front of Buffy's house. But with the oncomming summer we are lucky enough to still have a little light. After leaving the hotel I found Buffy watching soap operas and eating my ice cream when I came home. I gave her the low down on Hailey and told her we were leaving. She was a little surprised I think about how soon we were leaving, but not unhappy. So I took the Mercedes, and for lack of anyone else to drive, she took the explorer. Let me just say the whole ride home I thought for sure she was going to total it. Ask her and she is the best driver ever, experience her driving and you know the truth.
I sighed as I put the car into park looking up at the house once again. I swear everytime I see this place it brings out different emotions, yearning, anger, fear, happiness, hope. It's almost never the same. For once though I wouldn't be leaving at the end of the night, or even at the end of the week. I jumped as Buffy rapped sharply on my window. She laughed as I rolled down the window.
"You jumped like a mile baby, sorry."
"Yeah, yeah, so lemme just grab my stuff and lets go in." I leaned over to the passenger seat reaching for the one bag I had with me in this car. The rest of my stuff was in the explorer, and that wasn't much. I only brought what I really needed, Fred and Gunn were gonna rent the place from me, and box up what I left behind.
"Wait," Buffy laid a hand on my shoulder, I sat up alert at once for any demonic presence.
"What?" I asked, my eyes searching the area. Buffy noticed my alertness.
"No, nothing like that. It's just while we were driving. I had a lot of time to think, you know, about stuff. And you're right." She shuffled a little bit looking down at her feet.
"Well glad to hear you finally get that, but uh, right about what exactly?" Ok I know that sounds dumb, but I don't wanna just assume things you know? What if I am thinking she means right about Gabe and really she is thinking, 'Gee Faith, you're right those monkeys in Wizard of Oz never could have really flown, their wings are too small for their weight!' see what I mean.
"About Gabe, he is a loser." Score fucking gazillion points for team me!! I do manage to resist trying the happy dance in my seat. I nod slowly.
"Good to know," I am really at a lose about what else to say. Fortunately she takes over.
"So....yeah...why don't you forget about the stuff in the explorer for the night, grab your litttle bag, and lets....go....inside."
She turns heading up the walk. In my hurry to follow her into untold, and vaguely promised pleasures I manage to barely roll the window up and coke myself on my seatbelt before remembering that to exit the vehicle one must unbuckle the seat belt. Finally free I sprint up the walkway coming to a halt inches behind her on the porch as she opens the door.
"Hey Dawn! How was school? I missed you, get your homework done, long drive, really tired, gonna go to bed now, lock the doors, see you in the morning." And just like that Buffy is up the stairs. I pause only a moment to take in Dawn's stunned face at her sister's weird actions, and my arrival.
"Hey shrimp, miss me? Gotcha somethin." I toss her the keys to the Mercedes, a grin spreads over her face as she realizes they belong to a car. Before I am halfway up the stairs I hear her running out the front door and the car's locater beeping madly. Laughing I make it to the landing and make the familiar turn into B's room.
To say I was attacked would be an understatement. No sooner had I closed the door before Buffy pounced. I slammed back into the door her body pressed against mine, mouth eagerly exploring mine. Her hands weaved into my hair, tangling in a seemingly permanate way. My own hands wandered through her hair and down her back pulling her even closer to me. After her initial attack she backed off a little, breaking the kiss she smiled up at me.
"Sorry, but I was thinking about doing that the entire way home."
"No problem," I pull her back close against me, and slowly this time, our lips meet again. This kiss is filled with the passion of the first, but none of the urgency. We both know we have all night to finish this.

Notes: Lol, this wasn't really what I meant to do right now, but well I
watched Buffy, and then like 4 hours of Dark angel, and then the Eliza
interview, and all I really wanted to do was write a big long Hailey, Buffy,
Faith lust triangle...but alas Hailey is bad and I couldn't bring her into
this so it is just a big Buffy Faith romp...now I am going to go to bed and
think of the threesome romp.
::Hey mister I really like your daughter I'd like to eat her like ice cream maybe dip her in chocolate::
Oh god yes oh god yes... Every nerve in my body is in its top response mode, even the slightest movement from Buffy sends shivers through me. And I am really liking this door thing. Without breaking the kiss I feel Buffy reaching around me and hear the click as she turns the lock. I smile into the kiss and feel her smile also. I feel her hands both moving to my waist, and sliding under my shirt, pushing up and up, her palms just brushing against the sides of my breasts as they pass, untill she breaks the kiss to pull my top off.
She smiles hungrily at me, I recognize that look, I know it's the one I always use on her. I move to also remove her shirt, but she stops me pinning my arms above my head with one hand, as she once again begins to kiss me. Indicating that this is her time to play. Her other hand works its way up my stomach leaving a tingling trail in its wake. She gently places it on my bra covered breast, doing nothing more than tease me, taunting me to beg for more as she slowly increases the pressure and movement. I all but whimper into her mouth. She pulls back smiling before kissing across my cheek and down my throat, licking back up to my ear and then blowing gently in it. I visibly squirm under her touches, I don't know maybe trying to somehow manipulate her hand under my bra.
I know she won't fall for that though. She releases my hands though, placing her hand on my other breast, and I understand I am not to be touching her yet. I let my hands fall gently resting in her hair. I watch her my eyes half closed as her mouth moves down in between my breasts, around my belly button and then licking back up. She stands upright again, looking me in the eyes as she slides my bra straps off my shoulders, pressing her body against mine as she reaches behind me undoing the clasp and discarding the bra all together. With all the wonderment of a child on christmas she begins to explore my breasts with her hands, running her palms lightly over my nipples, smiling as they rise to her touch, as eager as the rest of me to feel her.
Rubbing circles around one nipple she brings her mouth to the other, her tounge flicking out to it quickly before withdrawing and blowing gently. I moan gently pulling her head towards me. She doesn't protest and simply takes my nipple into her mouth sucking and pulling, swirling her tounge around and and biting gently. I let out a gasp of breath, clasping her head to me as I slide down the door an inch. She moves her mouth to the other nipple, and while it receives equal attention, her hands once again move down to the top of my pants. A finger from each hand sliding under the tight fabric teasingly, before they move to the center and her hands quickly undo the button pulling the zipper down and sliding my pants to the floor to join my bra. As she does this her lips move briefly from my body and I can't help but slide to the floor. With a little laugh she maneuvers me to the middle of the floor, me not ebbing in any state to do much but what she says.
Once again she is on top of me her lips briefly on mine before moving down. Kissing gently all down my stomach before reaching the top of my thong.(Cute little orange one if you were wondering.) Hooking one finger in each side she pulls the thin fabric quickly off, and with little more teasing begins. As her tounge first touches my clit I gasp outright all the blood rushing in my body. Slowly and teasingly she licks up and down my slit, pausing each upstroke to suckle my clit a little biting it now and then. As my breathing becomes heavier and fast she speeds up her pace. My hands twist harshly into her hair as I feel the orgasm coming, she knows me she knows the signs, and at just the right moment I feel her fingers inside me, while she bites one final time on my clit. I swear my body levitates off the floor as I come, clenching around her fingers as she pulls them out sliding up my body to lay next to me, I put my arm around her, stroking her hair gently as I work up the stregnth to try to return the favor.
Before I get the chance there is a knock on the door and whoever it is tries the doorknob to no avail. I jump up pulling a blanket from the bed to cover myself thinking it is Dawn.
"Buffy? It's me Gabe. Can we talk?" Comes the voice from the other side of the door. Me and Buffy exchange looks. "Why's the door locked? I know Faith is here, Dawn told me."
"I'll be right out." Buffy says quickly, standing up and sliding out the door shutting it behind her.

it will stay that way;)
::Because of you I forgot the smart ways to lie because of you I'm running out of reasons to cry::
I really don't like Gabe. Like really really don't like him. That's my only thought as I sit still wrapped in the blanket on B's bed. Nope don't like him at all. Just get done having my tingles along he comes to ruin the fun I had planned for her. I sigh looking around her room. I guess I better get dressed, I don't really think we will be continuing this tonight no matter what she says to him.
Buffy lead Gabe down the stairs and onto the front porch, together they sat on the top step. At first neither of them said anything, Buffy wrapped her arms around her knees, pulling herself away from Gabe, and warning him silently not to touch her. He didn't get the hint.
"I'm so glad you're back," he said swinging an arm across her shoulders, apparently oblivious to them tensing up. Buffy stood shaking him off.
"What's wrong?" He asked looking up at her.
"This, you, me, us," Buffy was pacing now. "Oh I don't know, it's all wrong."
"What are you talking about hon?" Gabe asked standing and putting a hand on Buffy to stop her pacing. She stopped looking from his hand back up to his face.
"This is over Gabe, we're breaking up."
"What? Come on you're just freaking out about the brain tumor, not thinking straight, let's go inside, lay down relax, things will look better."
He put his hand in the small of her back gently leading her to the door. She squirmed out of his grasp, stepping in front of him blocking the way into the house.
"No. I am thinking straight, god for the first time in a while I'm thinking straight."
"Buffy you need me." Gabe clasped her shoulders shaking her.
"No she doesn't," Dawn stood in the doorway to the house arms crossed.
"Dawnie, don't start, you're just a kid, you don't know what is best."
Gabe still held tightly to Buffy, leaning over her shoulder to talk to Dawn.
"Don't call me that. I do know what's best, and so does Buffy." Buffy pulled out of Gabe's hands, pushing him back towards the steps. She backed up even with Dawn. "And if you know what's 'best', you'll leave." Dawn crossed her arms daring Gabe to argue. He just shook his head at them as he backed off the stairs.
"Fine, you two keep playing house, but don't come running to me when the money runs out." He turns abruptly, storming off down the sidewalk.
When I come down the stairs Buffy and Dawn are just coming inside, behind them I hear a car peal off into the night, I take this as a good sign. B must have finally told Gabe off, much as I would have liked to watch I am glad it's over with. Buffy looks a little shaken and Dawn looks more than a little pissed off.
"You ok B?" I ask putting an arm around her shoulder. She nods as I slowly lead her to the couch. "So you told him it was over?"
"Finally, god that guy was a freaking loser Buffy, how the hell did you put up with him for that long? Always 'honey do this', 'I know what's best', 'shorty you want a ride to school'. God!" Dawn throws herself down on the armchair. I can barely contain my amusement.
"Wait, so I heard you liked him Dawn." I look sideways at Buffy who rolls her eyes at me.
"Gabe? Hell no! Where would you hear that?" She also looks at Buffy.
"Alright you two, no ganging up that is just not fair." She turns playfully shaking her finger at me. "I will send you right back to LA." I hold up my hands in mock surrender.
"No, you can't do that." Dawn jumps over into my lap throwing her arms around my neck.
"You heard her B." I smile wrapping my arms comfortably around Dawn's waist.
"And I am supposed to listen to that little twirp?" Dawn stuck out her tounge at Buffy.
"Yes, and besides we took a vote you lost. Faith likes me better."
"Oh yeah?" Buffy asks sitting up straighter. Uh oh I can tell this is gonna get ugly.
"Yeah." Oh no back of Dawn.
Too late. Buffy pounces on Dawn tickling her sides mercilessly
"No, stop Buffy!!!" Dawn squirms and giggles, but I hold tightly onto her tickling her too. "Faith, come on! You're supposed to be on my side!"
All of us are laughing as Dawn finally squirms away sitting back in the arm chair.
"See she likes me better." Buffy says snuggling down next to me, my arm around her pulling her close.
"Yeah well we all know why that is." Dawn says wiggling her eyebrows. I laugh as Buffy tosses a pillow at her.
"Dawn!" Buffy says for lack of anything better.
"What? It's so obvious." She smiles as neither of us deny her. "See, I'm right. I'll be upstairs." She stands up leaving us alone on the couch.
"I can't believe her." Buffy says snuggling back down.
"Yeah, you certainly have your hands full inviting me to stay here too, you sure you up to it?" I ask looking down at her.
"Positive." She answers tipping her head up to kiss me lightly. Yeah life is good.

::I love you I need you what can I do to make you see you're the only one for me::
The next couple weeks flew by. Mostly just me settling in, I got a job at the coffee shop in town, not a bad gig, 'cept for the fact I usually had to be at work early, thank god for slayer stamina. The worst part of it was leaving Buffy still in bed when I went to work. I took over getting Dawn ready for school, and making sure she got there on time most days. Buffy would have been disgusted at the two of us in the morning watching cartoons and eating ice cream for breakfast, we made sure to keep that our little secret. Dawn won many admirers for her graduation present of the car. She was graduating with honors, and I figured she deserved the car. All the shit she went through, she deserved alot more than the car.
So like I said the first couple weeks flew by, and all of a sudden it was the morning of Dawn's graduation. The Saturday morning was perfect, even if I did have to work before the ceremony. Dawn had joined me eating ice cream and watching cartoons even though she didn't need to be up for a couple more hours. I left for work reassuring her that B and I would be at the ceremony on time.
So here I am just getting off of work at noon, not really a long day, but when you consider the fact that Buffy is still sound asleep in bed, it seems a little bit more unfair. I slowly crawl onto her bed, onto 'our' bed now I guess huh? I like the way that sounds our bed. I smile to myself as I lean over Buffy's sleeping figure, leaning down to kiss her gently on the forehead, she barely moves at all, just squirming a little and mumbling something about Britney Spears, yeah B, I know what you're dreaming about, I'm gonna call you on it later too. I push the cover back sliding in behind her wrapping my arm across her stomach, palm pressed flat on her stomach savoring the feeling. I feel her waking up and I start to nuzzle her neck.
"Huh? Br...Faith? Baby, what are you doing you should be at work."
Buffy says in confusion, rolling on her back and trying to push me back. I prop myself up on my arm smiling down at her.
"I'm home from work, it's after noon, but I could go if you want, leave you alone with Britney?" My smile spreads wider and B's face goes red.
"Yeah that's what I thought, I'll be downstairs when you are done." Before I can get hardly get off the bed I am pulled back on into a laughing embrace. She kisses me running her hands through my hair. I pull back gently breaking the kiss, still leaving a pout on her face.
"Where you going?" She asks.
"This is all good and fun B, but remember we got Dawn's graduation today, at one thirty. So you gotta get up."
"Oh crap I forgot. You should have woken me up earlier."
"Um, hello? At work."
"So call dork." She throws a pillow at me getting out of the bed. I dodge it and stand leaning in the doorway watching her get ready. I wonder how long it will be before I get sick of watching her walk around wearing only a tank top and her underwear. Cause honestly? I can't see it ever happening.
What seems like ten hours later we meet Dawn in front of the school after graduation. Let me say that I am so glad this is the only graduation I have ever been to. No wonder I didn't graduate, if I had even had to sit through that. Dawn is all smiles when she comes out from changing, Willow and Tara have flown in for the night, and Xander and Anya had called early this morning to wish her luck. I never saw that girl glow so much. We take the usual pictures, me Buffy and her, all of us, just Dawn, Janice, and Ashleigh, you know all the graduation pictures.
"So I am gonna go with Ash, and Janice for the night ok?" Dawn asks pulling away from her friends for a minute. Buffy nods lacing her hand through mine.
"Behave, just because the highschool didn't blow up for your graduation, it's no reason to go crazy." Dawn rolls her eyes.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do," I say winking.
"Ok, I'll stay away from boys." I punch her playfully before pulling her into a hug, Buffy joins the group hug, this is what family feels like huh? Who would have known.
"Thanks for everything." Dawn says into our shoulders, I am not really sure which one of us she is talking to. We pull apart breaking the hug.
"I love you," Buffy says.
"Love you too." Dawn smiles. "I'll be home tommorow, not early."
"Ok, say goodbye to Will, and Tara." Dawn nods moving away from us to find them. I squeeze Buffy's hand, she turns smiling at me, I can see the shine of tears in her eyes.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I ask.
"Nothing, I'm just proud of her."
"Me too. You did good by her B." I pull her into another hug, and don't let go until I see Willow and Tara approaching us.
"So we're free for the night huh?" Willow asks.
"Looks like." I answer.
"Yeah, been ditched for kegs and boys I think." Buffy says with a sigh, before smiling. "So back to our place?" We all nod our agreement and head for the car.
After a nice dinner we all decide chill out with a few glasses of wine. Yeah not my favorite, but with Buffy you gotta do that classy stuff sometimes. If it were up to me just hand me a Natty ice and I'll be good to go. What can I say? I am curled up on the corner of the couch with Buffy leaning against me, while Tara sits at the other end, Willow on the floor in between her legs.
"So how is the training going?" B asks Willow.
"Good, really good actually. We are really lucky that they opened a Seattle branch of the council, cause otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get in. They were totally full up."
"So when you gonna get your own lil slayer to train?" I ask sipping my wine.
"Well hopefully never, since no more are called till you die." Tara answers evenly.
"Thanks for the hope, but I meant, just to prepare."
"It won't be for a while, they make you do so much other stuff before you can even think about getting one. Besides we aren't even sure we want to work in that branch yet, so who knows?" Willow smiled up at us.
"What other branches are there exactly? I pretty much thought they were all train train train you know" B asks.
"Oh no there is reaserch, and fieldwork, and history. Lots of stuff." Tara answers.
"So you heard from Xander lately?" Willow asks pouring herself another glass of wine.
"Yeah, he is really liking the new job in Orlando. Anya is adjusting, oh did you know she's pregnant?" Buffy asks leaning forward.
"No, oh my god! Our little Xander's gonna be a dad?" The two of them fall into fits of babbling and giggling that I don't know about Tara, but I can hardly understand. Looking at my watch I see it is almost eleven and not to be a loser but I have to work tommorow morning and the wine is getting to me making me sleepy.
"Hey B, I'm gonna head to bed." I start to slide out from under her.
"Ohhh, no don't go to bed yet."
"I gotta B, work in the morning remember."
"Oh yeah, fine," she pouts, smiling when I lean down kissing her.
"I think I'm going to go to bed to." Tara says standing.
"You sure?" Willow asks moving up to the couch.
"Yeah, night baby." They kiss. Together me and Tara head upstairs, Willow and Buffy's babbling fading away.
Willow and Buffy sat downstairs late into the night, past midnight and through another bottle of wine. Their conversations ranged from what was on TV, to highschool, to past loves, to current ones.
"Who woulda thought this is where we would be tonight." Buffy said her head rolled back onto the arm of the couch.
"Well I wouldn't have been surprised to know we would be in your house." Willow said smiling.
"You know what I mean silly." Buffy playfully slapped at her totally missing, causing Willow to burst into laughter.
"And wine defeats the slayer. No I know what you mean. And I wouldn't have ever guessed it. But, I'm happy. Are you happy?" Willows voice had turned serious. Buffy sat up crossing her legs under her, appearing to contemplate the question.
"Yeah, I am. Happier than I have been in a really long time actually. Faith is amazing. She cares so much. And Dawn and her get along so great. It feels like family again, you know? For the first time since mom died."
"Yeah." Willow nodded.
"But I am so scared Will, this tumor, I could die."
"Yeah what is going on with that anyway?" Buffy shrugged leaning back.
"I have surgery a week from Monday. They say it should be fine, it's still small, so...but you know. My mom died from it, so I'm fucking so scared."
"I know." Willow reached out holding Buffy's hand. Buffy looked up smiling.
"Thanks."

::you can call me selfish when all I want is your love and you can call me hopeless cause I'm hopelessly in love::
Well how can I even begin to describe the last couple weeks? It's been fucking insane. Luckily Buffy's surgery went well. But all the stress leading up to it was horrible, I'd rather not think about it. So we are just gonna concentrate on the here and now, the after surgery.
Apparently the tumor was not cancer, thank god. So B should be fine, once she heals from the hole in her head, but slayers heal fast right? Right now I am on my way back from the house, while Dawn stayed with Buffy at the hospital I had to run home to pick up some things for her. Mr. Gordo, PJ's, all her usual comfort stuff. Good to know everything is gonna be alright. I pull to a stop at a red light dancing a little to the music in the car as I wait. I lean over pulling a cigarette from the pack in the seat next to me. Sitting up, I see something out of the corner of my eye. I whip my head around hoping to get a better veiw. Nothing... I would have just sworn I saw Hailey behind the wheel of the car parked behind me a little, but that's impossible, I cancelled her. (Fucking stupid moronic fox fuckers) I shake my head pulling away as the light turns green.
As Faith pulled away Hailey sat up from behind the wheel of her new car. That was fucking close. Of all the people to almost run into. Not that she wasn't here to see Faith, but it wasn't time for that yet. No not yet. She threw her cigarette out the window, starting the car she pulled away from the curb, doing a U turn she headed the way Faith had come from.
The room was dark except for the glow from the TV. Always the most inviting, and at the same time lonely kind of light. Dawn was pasted out all curled up in her chair, but I could see Buffy's head turn toward me as I walked in. She smiled weakly as I walked towards her.
"Hey," she whispered.
"Hey yourself." I set Mr. Gordo next to her and leaned down kissing her forehead. I squeezed her hand gently before circling the bed to wake Dawn. I gently shook her.
"Dawnie, baby, wake up." Slowly her eyes opened.
"Hey Faith," Dawn stretched, uncurling from the chair.
"Ashleigh called while I was at the house, she said that her and Janice were going to stop by Jordon's, and then come to the house to hang out with you for the night."
"Oh, alright," Dawn looked at her watch. "Hope I get back in time."
She stood gathering her purse.
"Ash knows where the keys are if not." Dawn nodded leaning over Buffy.
"Have fun, behave." Buffy advised.
"Get better." She hugged her as tightly as she dared. Then turned to hug me tighter.
"Bye." Dawn waved as she closed the door behind her.
I sat up on the bed next to Buffy and she slide as far to one side as she could giving me enough room to lie on my side. I wrapped one arm around her stomach, and curled the other under my head. She leaned up kissing me briefly.
"Thanks for getting Mr. Gordo."
"No problem, he was telling me all the way over about how much he missed you."
"Well of course he does. He's been with me since I was like 5." Buffy pulled Mr. Gordo to her.
"I know." She gave me a skeptical look. "What? He told me. We bonded."
"Uh huh."
"How you feel?" I asked quietly.
"Like someone cut a whole in my head." Buffy said flatly, I smiled and she returned it.
"Funny you look like that too." I kissed her forehead before she snuggled down into me.
"I love you, dork." She whispered. I squeezed her gently.
"Love you too dork."

::trouble again there was trouble again trouble again there was trouble again::
Gabe was struck by hot air as he opened the door to the bar, the night had brought cooler temperatures, and the heat from the bar was stiffling, and unwelcome, still he walked forward. Years of living in Sunnydale had failed to teach him a valuable lesson about staying out of unwlecoming places. He thrived in them, had all his life. Except for the past couple of months, something about being with Buffy had tamed him. Made him feel like he didn't need this life.
But that was over now, Buffy had that slut Faith now. Had dropped him as soon as she walked into her life. He had given her everything and this was how he was repayed? He had seen them together a couple times, at the movies, on a walk, at graduation...needless to say he was more than a little upset. It seemed like they had been together for much longer than the month or so since Buffy ditched him. This made him wonder what might have been going on behind his back between them. And Gabe did not like to be fucked with.
The bar was in the dock district, mainly a hangout for fishermen, whores, and other people trying to stay below the radar. A few people looked in Gabe's direction as he walked in but most chose to concentrate on their own business. Gabe had no friends here, but no enemies either. He made his way through the smoke filled room to take a seat at the bar, he ordered a beer and sat waiting for it as a girl sidled up taking the seat next to him.
As Gabe's beer got to him he looked sideways at the girl. She was stunning. Dark hair flowing past her shoulders, a dark complexion, a tight little body squeezed into a pair of dark jeans and a black tank top. He quickly looked away knowing what kinds of things the girls here carried. That was not the life he wanted, he like to live on the edge, not in the pit.
"Hey, my names Hailey." The girl turned a little smiling at him as she sipped her drink. Gabe half returned her smile.
"Gabe, nice to meet you." Gabe returned his attention to his beer, trying to discourage her from continuing talking to him.
"Gabe, that's a nice name," Hailey stirred her straw in her drink. "So you from around here Gabe?"
"Yeah, born and breed."
"Good for you." Gabe looked up at the girl's teasing voice.
"Not from around here I take it?" He asked suspiciously.
"Just in town for some business." Hailey turned to fully face him, her knees brushing his thighs.
"Look, whatever it is you're selling, I'm not interested." Gabe chugged the rest of his beer and stood to go, he was stopped by Hailey's hand on his arm.
"Not even Buffy?" Hailey looked up at him with wide innocent eyes, staring back at her he saw the deeper maliciousness in them, something stirred in him, he knew she would deliver whatever she promised. Gabe sat back down.
"Let's talk." He said.
"Now he's interested." Hailey turned back to her own drink.
"Of course I am fucking interested, you knew I would be. Now what I want to know is how you knew."
"Let's just say I know things."
"Let's just say you tell me."
"Patience patience, down boy." Hailey turned her head, smiling at him. "I have interests in Faith, I believe you know her, about five five, brown hair, nice ass."
"Yeah I know who you mean." Gabe was starting to get annoyed by her wise ass attitude.
"Hmmm...bitter are we? Someone steal your girl? I know the feeling. I can help you get her back."
"You know you are talking a lot of shit with nothing to back it up." Gabe said preparing to leave again.
"I don't talk shit, I get whatever I want. You will help me, and you will get Buffy. Now are we on the same page?" Hailey stared at Gabe till he sat down again.
"Yeah, I get you." For some reason Gabe found himself absurdly convinced that with this girl he would get Buffy back, or at least hurt her for leaving him. Either way worked for him.
"Good, either way works for me too." Hailey stood grabbing her purse and walking away from the bar, she turned back to him once. "I'll be in touch." Gabe sat staring dumbly after her, not really knowing what had just happened.

::Just wish that I didn't feel like there was something I missed::
So this is heaven huh? Funny I was expecting more clouds...maybe some harps. I glance over at Buffy where she has fallen asleep on the bed next to me. They let her out of the hospital yesterday night and we've spent the better part of today snuggling on the bed watching all kinds of horrible soap operas. The spanish ones not being the worse. After Passions she made me put in "The Princess Bride" and immediately fell asleep. Thats ok, I'm not mad, just so relieved that everything is going to be ok from now on, we can finally put this mess with the brain tumor behind us. I for one and looking forward to a long laid back summer with the Summers girls. I turn the tv off with a flick of the remote, I roll over away from her facing the window and letting the gentle breeze dance across my face. Yeah this is the life.
Hailey pulled her car to a stop infront of Gabe's apartment complex. She pulled her sunglasses down looking overtop of them at the modest buildings. This was going to be so easy. She climbed out of her car hitting the car alarm as she left, making her way up the walk to his building she quickly located the stairs to her right and assended to the second floor and apartment A-21, she knocked sharply on the door and entered without waiting for an answer. Inside was dark except for the sunlight coming from the sliding doors to the deck.
"What the hell?" Gabe asked from the doorway leading off from the kitchen. "It's only three-thirty. You said you would be here at four." Hailey shrugged.
"I'm impatient."
"I can fucking see that, I am getting about sick of your shit."
"Whatever, you need me." Hailey sat down on his couch kicking her legs up on the coffee table.
"Yeah, well make yourself comfortable. I'll be right back." Gabe left Hailey, grumbling as he made his way back to the bedroom to throw on a t-shirt.
Hailey looked around the apartment, it was the apartment of a vain man, even if she had never met Gabe she would have known that. Wooden nick nacks, and statues giving the impression of much more travel than he had, had were methodically arranged on the small mantle and coffee table. Fantastic looking books lined the bookshelf, and Hailey would have bet everything she owned that he had never even looked at a page of some of them. Cheap tricks to give him the impression of class, the aura of status. It was painfully obvious to Hailey he lacked either of these things. Before she could stand to take a closer look Gabe returned to the room taking a seat in the chair across from her.
"So, here you are." He said clasping his hands together.
"And so are you." Hailey nodded.
"I don't know a fucking thing about you, how the hell did you get my number to call, and how did you know about Buffy?"
"You don't need to worry about any of that." Gabe started to interrupt but Hailey raised a finger to stop him. "Just know that we have similar goals, and that if you will help me help us, then this will be yours." Hailey took a stack of money out of her purse setting it on the table between them. Gabe stared open mouthed at it for a second before gingerly reaching out to take it. He turned the pile over in his hand flipping through it.
"It's five hundred thousand. It's all for you if you get Buffy back."
"Right might as well forget that then." Gabe set the money back on the table. "She is totally with that slut now."
"I said I needed your help, and you needed mine." Hailey pulled a small purple vile from her purse setting it on the table next to the money.
"What we gonna poison the bitch?" Gabe asked fingering the bottle.
"No dimwit. This is not for Faith, who I would appreciate you not calling a slut. This is for Buffy, pour the contents into her drink and she will slowly fall back in love with you."
"Fall back in love with me? You're saying this is a love potion? Right, not buying this lady."
"Trust me. It will work, I have friends who know about these things." Gabe still looks skeptically at Hailey. "Tell you what. You slip this in her drink, I'll give you fifty thousand no matter what else happens, whether she falls in love or not."
"It won't hurt her will it?" Gabe asked once again picking up the bottle.
"Won't hurt her at all."
"And if she falls back in love, that's it, what do you get out of it?"
"I am not gonna say this is all I need you to do yet. But I get Faith out of this. We're all happy."
"Alright I'm in."
"Like you ever weren't. Call me when you've given her the potion."
Hailey handed him a card and scooped the money off the table back to her purse. She walked briskly past him and out the door.
I opened her eyes when I heard the bedroom door slowly open. I saw Dawn peak her head in and motioned for her to enter. Dawn quietly shut the door behind her and crossed the room to the bed. She climbed up next to me laying down with her head on my shoulder, my arm around her back.
"Hey." She whispered.
"How you doing?" I asked.
"Pretty good. I am glad she is home."
"Me too shrimp."
"Why do you still call me that baby name?"
"Cause you're still a baby to me." I stroked Dawn's hair pushing it back behind one ear.
"Is she gonna be ok now?" Dawn asked, her voice shaking a little.
"Yeah she is."
"They said mom would be ok too."
"Don't worry Dawnie, Buffy is the slayer, nothing is going to happen to her." Dawn nodded.
"Ashleigh invited me to go to her cousins in Carmel with her. You think Buffy will let me go?"
"When?" I asked.
"They are leaving in three days, Janice was going to go but now she can't cause she got grounded. So what do you think?"
"We'll ask her." As I said this I felt Buffy stir next to me.
"Hey, what are you two doing?" Buffy propped herself up on one elbow looking sleepily at us.
"Just talking about you." I said smiling.
"Thanks." She slapped me gently leaning down to give me a quick kiss.
"Can I go with Ashleigh to Carmel, in three days?" Dawn asked. Not my idea of her best timing, but hey, I wasn't around to teach her everything.
"Um...Carmel...for how long?" Buffy asked.
"Two weeks, we are staying with her cousins. Her mom is going and stuff." Dawn sat up crossing her legs underneath her bouncing a little in excitement.
"I guess that would be ok. Faith will you talk to Ashleigh's mom tonight to get all the details.
"Sure B."
"Yey! You guys are the best." Dawn squeeled, giving first me a hug and then bouncing off the bed and giving Buffy a more restrained hug. Smiling she ran out of the room to call Ashleigh.
"Well that was nice of you." I said rolling on my side to face Buffy. She shrugged.
"What can I say, I know you can take care of me just fine." She smiled slyly down at me. I returned her smile closing the small distance between us before our lips met, and pulling her down on top of me, trying to be gentle as I ran my hands down her body.
