Faith looked at over the edge of the building. The same one that she had fell from that night five years ago. Faith had spent five years in prison and had just been released for good behavior. Faith laughed at that, good behavior. She had known what she had to do to get out of the prison. Do whatever they said. Drink what they say, eat what they say, work when they say, sleep when they say. There was one thing they had never controlled though and that was her thoughts of Buffy. She was there day and night, always lingering in her mind. A constant nagging conscious thought. Her laughter, her smile, the way she moved when she fought, the smell of vanilla that would linger long after she was gone. Faith shrugged as she thought every memory of Buffy lingered after she was gone.
She had kept in touch with soul boy and he had told her everything that happened with Buffy. But he never had to tell her she had died. Faith had known the second it happened. She had been laying in her bunk and saw a flash of white light and felt an excruciating pain shoot through her body. She had curled up in a ball and remained huddled in her cell for three days. Not talking or eating just watching the visions of Buffy flash through her mind. Faith also knew when they brought Buffy back, even now she felt the emptiness that plagued Buffy. She had felt that same emptiness for years, the only time she had felt needed or wanted was when she was with Buffy. There seemed like there was a reason to live when they were together.
There were so many times when Buffy had just looked at her that she had felt safe. Faith had never had that before. She had been unsettled because of her life. First there were the beatings and then there were the rapes. She had run away from it and then her watcher found her. Then she felt settled and as if there were a reason for living. But there had been no happiness. Buffy had brought that to her and even though there had been moments that she had wanted to strangle Buffy for the way she had been treated but the love was always there. Faith smiled as she remembered the way Buffy had always smiled when she talked about her family and friends. She had seen the love for Angel in Buffy's eyes and constantly longed for that to be hers.
"So, you came back here hunh?" Faith heard a voice behind her ask. She knew who the voice belonged to the instant she heard the indrawn breath.
"I am not here to hurt you B. That was never my intention. I am here to help because there is something bad heading this way. I can't tell you what it is but Cordy says you can't do it on your own and I am the one in the vision." Faith turned around and saw Buffy standing there. The first thing she noticed was that Buffy had lost weight and the second thing she noticed was that she was still as beautiful as ever.
"Faith, I don't have the energy for this. Work was hell today and I mean that literally. Do you have a place to stay?"
"I figured I would grab a place at the old motel. I really am tired B can I just go and we do this later?" Faith felt Buffy walk behind her and stop.
"Place brings back a lot of memories doesn't it."
Faith looked at Buffy and said "Yeah B and none of them good." Faith then turned to Buffy and said "how you been?"
Buffy continued to look over the ledge and then she looked back at Faith "I'm sorry Faith. I am so sorry for doing that." Faith glanced over at her and saw the tears in Buffy's eyes.
"B, it's all in the past ya know. Don't worry about it just forget about it." Faith laid her hand on Buffy's shoulder and was shocked as Buffy threw herself around in Faith's arms and hugged her tight in her embrace. Faith hesitantly wrapped her arms around Buffy and closed her eyes as Buffy pressed her body to hers. This was something she waited years for. Just the feel of her body next to hers was heaven. Then Faith was shocked as Buffy pressed her lips to hers. It was a gentle pressure at first and then Buffy hesitantly slipped her tongue onto Faith's lips. Faith immediately groaned and opened her lips to allow Buffy access.
Buffy pressed herself against Faith knowing it was wrong but seeking the sense of being alive. She had felt so empty until she had seen Faith standing at that ledge. Then so many emotions flooded her. There was guilt, and pain, and anger, and love. There was always love when it came to Faith. Love was something Buffy did not know a lot about. There was Angel and it had been love but with Faith there was love and hate and confusion. Always confusion. Buffy stopped thinking as Faith plunged her tongue into Buffy's mouth. Faith's hand gently caressed her ribs and made its way to her breast. Buffy groaned and pressed herself into Faith's touch. Faith ran her hand up under Buffy's shirt and pushed Buffy's bra up. She started to caress Buffy's nipple with her thumb. Knowing she should stop but never wanting it to.
Buffy had not felt so alive since they had brought her back. The feel of Faith pressed against her was almost too much. Faith pushed her thigh between Buffy's legs and Buffy trembled at the contact. Faith picked Buffy up and slammed her against the wall as she plunged her tongue deeper into Buffy's mouth. Faith pushed Buffy's shirt up over her head and took Buffy's breast into her mouth. Caressing her nipple with her tongue. Faith reached down and unbuttoned Buffy's jeans. She pushed them down far enough to allow her access to Buffy. She reached down and felt the moisture that flooded her hand. Buff felt tears fall down her face at the pleasure Faith was bringing her. Faith gently licked the tear off of her face. She slowly traced her tongue down her face until her tongue found the pulse point at the base of Buffy's neck. Faith felt her pulse jumping wildly under her tongue.
Buffy laid her head back and allowed Faith better access to her neck. She groaned as Faith slowly slipped one finger inside her. She thrust herself against Faith's hand and felt Faith slowly allow her tongue to wander back down to her breast. As Faith sucked on her nipple she gently eased two more fingers into Buffy. Faith started to thrust her fingers in and out causing Buffy to whimper at the contact and then the loss of it. As Faith plunged her fingers in and out she felt Buffy's muscles clench around her fingers. Knowing she was fixing to come Faith roughly pushed her mouth onto Buffy's. She started to increase the pace thrusting in and out. Buffy wrapped a leg around Faith's waist and started to move with the movements of Faith's hand. While locked in a kiss that made Faith's knees weak they met each other thrust for thrust. As Buffy pulled Faith's head harshly to hers Buffy came. Moisture flooded Faith's hand as she gently tried to withdraw it. Buffy clenched her muscles and whimpered "not yet Faith. Just stay there please." Faith looked at Buffy and saw the tears that poured down her face.
"Did I hurt you B?" Faith asked worriedly. Buffy shook her head and gently pulled Faith to her. She gently pressed a kiss to Faith's forehead and said "I missed you Faith. I am sorry for everything."
Faith gently pulled Buffy's shirt down and said "it is the past B. Just leave it alone B. We have a future to plan right."
Buffy looked at her staring deep into her eyes and said "let's go to the house Faith."
They walked off holding hands not knowing they were being watched in the shadows. Something lurking seeking nothing more than to wreak havoc to the new found happiness.

Buffy woke up and looked to her side and saw Faith watching her. She kinda smiled and said "Ok you have not run off yet." Faith just looked at her questioningly and said "why would I?"
"You get to see me bright and early and I am scary until I have coffee and make up."
"Make up you don't need cause you are beautiful and as far as coffee." Faith went to lean over Buffy placing her nipple right in front of Buffy's mouth. Buffy flicked her tongue out barely catching the nipple. Faith cleared her throat and said "Here is your coffee B." She handed Buffy her coffee and Buffy laughed as she noticed Faith's hand was shaking. She took a sip of coffee and Buffy said "you did not have to do that Faith." Faith just shook her head and said "Nothing nicer than waking your girl with coffee and kisses."
"I do like the coffee Baby but I think I am ready for the kisses." Faith just looked at her and grinned. Buffy gently reached out her finger and traced her dimples with her fingers and said "I love you Baby, you are beautiful." Faith just looked at her like she was crazy.
"B, I am not beautiful. There is nothing beautiful about me."
Buffy gently pressed her lips to Faith's and said "everything about you is beautiful. The way you smile, the way you laugh. You would gladly give your life for anyone including Willow even though she hates you at this time. The way you show your soft side when no one is looking and the look of love in your eyes when you see me." Buffy gently flicked her tongue out allowing a brief contact with Faith's lips. Faith immediately rolled herself over Buffy and plunged her tongue into Buffy's open mouth. Buffy wrapped her arms around Faith and tried to plunge her tongue deeper.
Faith eased herself away from Buffy and said "I want to cherish your body B. You deserve to have your body cherished. It is beautiful B, you are beautiful." Faith gently sucked on Buffy's neck causing Buffy to surge upwards. She then slowly traced her tongue downwards until it came to her nipple. She gently took it in her mouth and sucked on it causing Buffy to whimper. She flicked one nipple with her tongue and the other with her finger Buffy whimpered "Faith."
Faith then gently ran her tongue downwards until it was right at Buffy's clit. Buffy was shaking as Faith gently blew onto her clit and Buffy shot upwards on the bed. "Faith" she hollered.
"Shhhh B." She gently inserted two fingers into Buffy. Buffy started to ride Faith's hand but then she curved her fingers just right making Buffy come almost instantly. Buffy lay shaking as she gently reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She kissed Faith as passionately as she could and Faith groaned. Buffy started to run her fingers over Faith's body. Faith trembled as Buffy inserted one finger and was shocked when she realized how wet Faith was. "Faith" Buffy groaned and she felt Faith's fingers move downwards again. "Nope Faith this time it's all you." With that she inserted two more fingers and started to thrust in and out. Buffy was pushing as hard as she could and Faith was meeting each thrust. Faith was moaning and whimpering her body covered in sweat. Her raven hair wet from sweat. Her body glistened with the sunlight. Buffy whispered "my Angel." Faith moaned "BBBB." Buffy gently placed her mouth over Faith's and increased the pressure she was applying. "B BABBBBYYY. UNHHHHHHHH." Buffy gently flicked her thumb out catching Faith's clit with it. This sent Faith over the edge and she arched her body up into Buffy's. Buffy held her as her body shook. "Shhhh Baby..It's okay…..I love you….Shhhhh."
"God B. I love you. So much baby." Faith whispered. Buffy kissed her forehead and said "I love you too baby." Buffy gently laid her down and held her in her arms as Faith drifted off to sleep. Buffy just looked at her wondering how she could ever be so lucky. To have someone love her so much that it actually ached to be away from them for a moment. It hurt to imagine not having a future without Faith. Everything had been so empty to Buffy since they had brought her back. Willow and Tara were back together and Dawn was just miserable. It seemed like there was no making her happy she thought Buffy hated her because she left her and was miserable since she had come back.
But everything had been so empty she had been at peace for the first time in her life and had been brought back to this hell. She had all the responsibilities, and the loneliness, and the coldness. But now she did not feel so alone. She felt there actually might be some hope for the future. She was brought out of her thoughts by Faith moaning in her sleep. She started to cry and toss and turn. Buffy gently ran her hand over her forehead, trying to soothe her.
"No daddy..please..I….did….NOOOOOOOO….." Faith curled up in a ball and started to sob. Buffy gently curled her body around hers and held her until she stopped crying. "Sorry B." Faith said gruffly. "It's okay baby there is nothing to be sorry about. Do you want to talk about it?" Faith shook her head no and pulled Buffy's arms tighter around her. Buffy gently placed a kiss on her forehead. They laid there for a while until they heard someone running up the stairs. Before they could separate the bedroom door was flung open and Willow rushed in. Willow stopped when she saw Faith and before Buffy could say anything Willow had raised her hand and a bright light flashed in the room. Faith was thrown into the bedroom wall.
Buffy screamed "Willow..NO….." Buffy placed herself between Willow and Faith.
"Are you doing this willingly, Buffy?" Willow asked coldly. Buffy nodded her head yes as she grabbed a sheet and walked backwards to the unconscious Faith. Willow shook her head and started to leave. "They need you at the hospital Buffy." Willow said coldly. Buffy looked up questioningly and Faith started to come around.
"Why do they need me at the hospital?" Buffy asked.
"Because while you were here doing whatever the hell you call this Dawn was attacked by a demon and is in a coma. There are large doses of poison in her blood. Giles said he has never seen an attack like this one. He went to research it. Xander, Anya, and Tara are there now. We tried calling last night but the phone was off the hook. I am going back now. If you can get away from that to actually be there for your sister."
"Red, you better back off right here and now. I will stomp on you so fast your magic don't hold a chance. Buffy loves her sister and it is my fault she was not there. You best back off B right here and now. GOT IT!" Faith said loudly.
Willow looked back and saw Buffy was in the corner curled up with tears running down her face. She was so very white Willow regretted instantly everything she had said. "GO" was all Faith said. She turned and was whispering to Buffy gently caressing her face. Willow left and gently shut the door.
"Buffy, come on baby we have to go." Buffy looked at Faith with heartbreak in her eyes. "What did I do Faith? Why wasn't I there?"
"You did not do anything Buffy I did. I should have just went to the motel. But we don't have time for this right now." Buffy nodded her head and wiped at the tears trying to wipe them off her face. Faith took the sheet and wiped at Buffy's face. She gently placed a kiss on Buffy's forehead and turned to get dressed. Buffy watched her for a second and then got dressed herself.
The trip to the hospital was made in silence. They had walked to the hospital hand in hand. Neither saying anything, both blaming themselves. When they got to the hospital Faith would have died if looks could kill. Buffy shot a glare at all of them and said "We don't have time for this where is she?" Tara stuttered "OOO oo over thh th there." And pointed towards the door at the end of the hall. Faith started to step back so Buffy could go but Buffy kept her hand in hers as she walked towards the door.
Visions of when Faith and her mother were in here kept flashing through her mind. Faith felt Buffy tighten her grip and winced as her grip tightened even more. Then Faith noticed Buffy was shaking and as they reached the door Faith wrapped Buffy in her arms. She gently kissed the back of Buffy's head and said "Okay Baby. You can do this." Faith pushed open the hospital door and Buffy gasped as she looked at Dawn lying on the hospital bed.
Her body was covered in gashes and bruises. No one should have survived that Buffy thought to herself. She gently walked forward and reached out a shaking hand to touch Dawn's face. All of a sudden the door burst open and Giles ran in. "Buffy, we have to talk. Immediately." No one noticed the dark shadow that was lurking in the hall. There was a smile of pure evil on its face. "This plan is coming along quite nicely" the shadow whispered and walked away laughing.

"B, from the looks of this there is nothing you could have done. This is probably why I was sent here. G man what do you know?" Faith asked as she stood behind Buffy with her arms wrapped around Buffy's waist. Buffy was leaning back against Faith but she would not stop looking at Dawn. Faith knew what she was doing. When Buffy felt guilty she would imprint every moment that led to this incident in her mind. She would blame herself for being with Faith instead of watching Dawn. Giles cleared his throat and said "It seems as if this is a Bulitski demon from ancient times. He must have been raised by a powerful magic and according to ancient books the only way to heal Dawn is by killing the demon." Faith jumped away from Buffy and said "I'm on it G man. Keep B and kiddo safe." Buffy jumped in front of Faith as the tears fell from her eyes. "Don't go Faith I CAN'T LOSE YOU PLEASE DON'T GO." Buffy had raised her voice but she did not care she had a terrible feeling about this.
Giles stepped out and said "Neither of you will do anything until I have researched more. As far as the ancient books go this demon has never been defeated." Buffy fainted as soon as the last words left Giles mouth. Faith picked her up and sat her in the chair. She looked at Dawn and then at Buffy. "G man you have 12 hours and if you don't find anything I go it alone." Giles started to protest but was quieted as Buffy woke up.
Buffy looked at Faith who was kneeling in front of her. She leaned forward and placed a kiss on Faith's forehead. Then she got up and sat beside Dawn. She leaned forward and started to hum a soothing song Faith did not recognize. "B, me and red are going to go get something to drink and I am gonna go get some clothes do ya need anything." Buffy looked at her grimly and shook her head no.
"Be careful. Please." Was all Buffy said as she turned back and continued caressing Dawn's hair. "I'm sorry Dawnie I will make it right I swear." Faith heard Buffy whisper. When she walked in the hall she saw Willow sitting next to a blond girl. "Red, I need to talk to you. Please." Faith added the last part reluctantly but almost grinned at the shocked expression on Willow's face.
"Okay." Willow said.
They walked into the yard in front of the hospital and Faith said "I know what I did in the past was wrong and that I hurt you all very bad. I do apologize for hurting you but not for who I was. Who I was then makes who I am now. Now I am strong and know how evil works and thinks and lives and I will use that to protect you all from harm. Willow I know you probably don't believe me but I love Buffy and I thank you for being there for her and saving her and protecting her."
Willow slowed her walking and then stopped "Faith, I know you love Buffy and you have since the first day you saw her and the same goes for her. It was obvious to everyone but you two. You did hurt me and Buffy and Xander but we have also hurt each other. Although we never tried to kill each other or work for evil or help someone eat big spiders or or I am babbling aren't I." Willow asked questioningly. Faith just grinned and shook her head. "Anyway, I accept your apology but it will take a while for me to be comfortable with you and oh sorry about earlier."
"I'm okay just worried about B and squirt. We have to find this demon and," Faith stopped as she saw the color drain from Willow's face. She turned around and saw an ugly demon about 8 foot tall with horns protruding from his skull staring at her. She yelled at Willow "Go to B and put a spell on the room Red." Faith noticed Willow was about to protest when Faith hollered "NOW!!!" Willow ran back into the hospital towards Dawn's room.
"Hello Slayer let me introduce myself." The demon said.
"Introductions not necessary you are a Bulitski demon and yada yada yada. I don't need to know anything about you to kill you."
"Well slayer you have done your research so shall we continue." With that the demon stepped forward. Faith kicked him several times and punched him as hard as she could and he never flinched. Faith was sensing she might be in trouble when he threw a punch that made contact on Faith's ribs and shattered them. Faith picked herself up and wearily made her way over to him she kicked him in the same spot and he threw a punch that landed on her face breaking her nose. "Come on Slayer surely you can do better than that." Faith jumped on a window ledge and jumped off and kicked the demon in the face. He just laughed and said "OWW Slayer that really hurt." Then he started to laugh. Faith did not know how much longer she could fight the blackness that was threatening to overcome her.
Buffy jumped as the door flew open and Willow and the others ran in. Willow and Tara were chanting and an eerie glow surrounded the room. "Willow, what is going on?" Buffy asked. She was actually scared because Willow did not scare that easily anymore. She had seen too much. Just as Willow started to say something Buffy heard an anguished scream from the ground below. She made her way to the window only to see the demon pick Faiths unconscious form up and throw her into the wall like she was nothing. Buffy screamed and ran to the door only to be thrown back as the spell protected from within also. "Willow, get me out of here now." Buffy noticed Willow was about to protest and glared at her. Both girls stopped chanting and the room returned to normal.
Buffy ran down the steps of the hospital and ran out the door. She saw Faith's body lying on the ground bloody and battered. Buffy started to cry as she knelt by Faith breathing a sigh of relief as she felt her pulse. It was weak but it was there. Buffy picked Faith up when she sensed the demon behind her.
"This game is not over Slayer. We have many miles to go. Please get her well so I may have the honor of beating her yet again."
"What do you want?" Buffy screamed.
"Oh you will know soon Slayer, you will know soon."
And with that the shadow disappeared laughing.
"Come on Faith let's get you taken care of."
Buffy walked into the hospital carrying Faith. The shadow laughed at how easily his creation had defeated the Slayer. "I love this," he whispered.
Buffy sat in Dawn's room and waited for Willow to get back. They had taken Faith to the emergency room and they had said she was in critical condition. They would be moving her into Dawn's room at Buffy's request. That way she would have both of them together to protect them. Willow had gone and got her a change of clothes because the ones she had on were covered in Faith's blood. Buffy walked to the door and asked the nurse when they would be bringing Faith in.
"They had to run some tests on her. There seemed to be some internal bleeding and they believe it could be from a punctured lung."
Buffy started to say something to the nurse when she heard a groan from behind her. She turned around and saw Dawn waking up.
"Dawn!!" Buffy ran to the bed and knelt beside her. "Are you okay baby?"
"What happened?" Dawn asked groggily.
Buffy gently touched Dawn's cheek to see if she was still running a fever. The fever seemed to have disappeared. Buffy was wondering what was going on. Giles had said that the only way to cure Dawn was to kill the demon and Faith had not done that so what was going on.
"I feel like I got ran over by a truck Buffy." Dawn said as she tried to sit up. Buffy gently pushed her back and said "what happened?"
"I came home and you weren't there so I was going to the pizza parlor to get something to eat for dinner. When I walked out of the building it was dark and next thing I knew I was attacked by some huge ugly demon. And that is all I remember except for it must not have went well judging from how sore I am." Buffy started to say something but was stopped as the nurses came in with some machines. Dawn looked at Buffy questioningly and Buffy mouthed "Faith" to her. Dawn's eyes got wide and looked at the door. After a few minutes they wheeled Faith in on a bed. They hooked her up to the heartbeat monitor and to an IV. There was another machine Buffy did not know what it was for. Faith looked horrible, her face was swollen and it appeared that her whole body was black and blue.
The nurse looked at Buffy and said "Right now she is heavily sedated and will not be awake until morning probably. She was a very lucky girl whoever did this to her must have been very strong." Buffy just thought to herself you have no idea.
Dawn looked from Buffy to Faith questioningly. "The same demon that got you attacked her today. She got back into town yesterday. Cordelia sent her saying that we were going to need her help. Angel was going to come but Cordelia said according to her vision it was going to have to be Faith. We talked last night and resolved some things and I really missed her Dawnie. It felt so good to see her last night I did not realize I had missed her so much."
Dawn was watching her look at Faith longingly and decided now was as good as time as ever. Buffy would not kill her while she was in the hospital.
"Buffy?" Dawn asked. "What is it you missed about Faith?"
Buffy looked at Dawn and shrugged. "I missed the way she made me feel. She made me laugh and have fun. She made me mad but it was okay because I actually felt alive when she was around. She made me feel safe and secure. Like I was not alone."
"Buffy, when did you realize you were in love with her?" Buffy looked at Dawn shocked and then she saw Dawn was not upset by it. "Buffy, there is nothing wrong with it. Since you came back you have been so distant and alone. For the first time in a long time you seem like you are alive and that is what you want. I lost mom and I have been so scared you would do something stupid and I would lose you again. I don't sense that in you anymore. I want you to be happy and if Faith does that and you know I like Faith. She is" Dawn grinned and said "5 by 5."
Buffy laughed at that and said "You are right Dawn I am in love with her and I will spend the rest of my life proving it to her if I have to.."
"Not necessary B. I kinda knew." Buffy looked over and saw Faith trying to sit up.
"Lay back down Faith. You have serious injuries and you have a concussion." Buffy had moved to stand next to Faith and gently kissed her forehead and took her hand in hers.
"What's the up B? Why is Dawnie awake. Did ya kill it?"
"I don't know what is going on Faith. I was waiting for them to bring you in here and Dawn came to and started talking to me."
"Hi Faith. I'm so excited. Does this mean you and Buffy are a thing.. Hunh, hunh, hunh?"
Buffy looked at Faith and said "if she will have me."
"Question is B how long till you get tired of me."
"Oh, lets see Faithie, I think it will be about ten minutes after never." Buffy noticed that Faith looked like she was really tired and said "sleep love. We can talk later. We have plenty of time."
Buffy sat between Faith and Dawn's bed and held Faith's hand. She fell asleep and Buffy looked at Dawn. Dawn just smiled at her and said "I am happy for you Buffy. You deserve to be happy and everyone has known that you two would make each other happy."
Giles knocked on the door as he heard the conversation between the girls. His slayer deserved happiness and he would support her in any decisions that helped her achieve that. Although this was rather unconventional to say the least it was their decision and he had sensed something between the two long ago.
"Giles, come on in." Buffy said and then she saw the way he seemed a little uncomfortable and realized he must have heard the conversation. "Giles I…"
"No need to explain Buffy. Just please be yourself you deserve someone to share your life with and I believe Faith would love to be there for you. Please be careful with her, she has been hurt a lot in her life. I think you will be good for each other."
He looked up and saw tears in Buffy's eyes. "Giles thank you so much. You know I only have one regret. All of you are so accepting of this and I hurt Faith so much in my denial of our relationship. We could have been together for so long and we would have been happy."
Giles looked at her as he wiped his glasses and said "anyone who cares about you as a person wants nothing more than for you to be happy. If it is with a man or woman we only want your happiness. And I do believe your mother would be at ease with this because there is no doubt that Faith loves you and will protect you. But enough of this Buffy we have big trouble in Sunnydale. It seems that the demon Faith fought is dead. They found his body this morning. And if all my sources are correct I believe we are dealing with sources that were involved with The Master."

"The Master, Giles…There is no way…he is dead…as in dusted..as in..Giles please tell me this is not real." Buffy fell into the chair behind her as her knees gave out.
"I can not believe this Giles. How in the world did this happen? I have to get out of here." Giles looked at Buffy and saw the terror on her face. She had tears falling down her face. "Buffy it will be okay. We will defeat him I swear. You have Faith by your side."
"You also have me." Dawn said.
"And me" Buffy heard Willow say.
"Me also" said Tara.
"Buffy, I am not going to let anything happen to you." Buffy turned around to see Faith as she held out her hand to her. Buffy walked over to her and Faith noticed that Buffy's hands were shaking. She gently pulled her down so she was sitting beside her. "I will be here for you, Buffy. I have spent a lot of time by myself. Not having you around. I hurt you a lot. I am not going to do that again. It scares me to death to think of you not being there. For you to die would be the end of my existence. I want to have you wake up next to me every day for the rest of my life. I hurt you a lot in the past and I am sorry but do not give up. I love you Buffy with all of my heart. I know we have a bad past but Buffy I only did those things because you would not pay attention to me. You always had something going on with Willow, or Angel, or Xander. The only time you needed me was when there was a new big bad in town. But I am sorry Buffy I should have just told you and then things might have happened different."
Buffy put her hand up and said "Faith, that is the past. I have a lot more to be sorry for. You lost 8 months of your life because of me. I tried to kill you Faith, you should hate me." Buffy gently kissed Faith's forehead and saw Faith smile at the contact. "Giles, please find out what we have to do to defeat him. I also need to know who is working with him. I know the master never works alone. I also know whatever killed that demon had to have been bad. Faith did not even phase the demon Giles."
Buffy turned around and saw Willow watching her with a grin on her face. "Buffy, you and Faith are a thing and that's great and she loves you and you are happy and and I am babbling." She looked at Tara and said "help, I can't stop talking." Tara leaned forward and pressed her lips to Willow's. Willow turned red and said "Ummmm, I have to go and do something. Tara you want to help."
"Oh. Okay I can do that. Buffy, if you need us call. In about an hour okay."
Buffy just grinned and said okay. Giles looked at all three girls in the room and cleared his throat.
"Ahem. I do believe that I will go do some research." Giles said.
Buffy walked over and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you for every thing you have done for me." Buffy looked at him and grinned "dad."
Giles eyes got tears in his eyes and said "yes, well, ahem, I do believe" Giles stopped and said "thank you Buffy. You will never know how much that means to me." He looked at Faith and said "If you hurt, ummm, my daughter you will regret it."
"Not a prob, Pops, that is never going to happen again."
Buffy smiled at Giles face when Faith had called him Pops.
"Yes well Good Night Girls. Buffy we will cover patrol tonight. You stay here until we can figure out what is going on with The Master."
"No problem Giles. Go spend some quality time doing quality research. I will be here if you need me."
Giles left and Faith looked at Dawn and said "So how are ya doin', squirt?"
"Not bad just kind of sore. If I look near as bad as you then I am going to hide here until I am healed."
"Thanks, little bit."
"No prob, sis. It is all 5 by 5."
Buffy grinned at Dawn and Faith.
"Are you okay with this, Dawn. I mean are you okay with me and B being a thing."
Dawn looked at her and said "Only reason I am upset with you Faith is that you should have done that a long time ago."
"I know, squirt. But better late than never."
They spent the rest of the afternoon just talking and telling jokes. Dawn fell asleep and Buffy crawled into Faith's bed. Faith pulled Buffy's head down so that it was laying on her chest.
"I hear your heartbeat."
"That is always a plus. It means I am alive." Faith said.
"True" Buffy said "and alive is always a good thing."
"Yeah." Faith said. "Now get some sleep."
Faith laid there and stroked Buffy's hair. Remembering every detail from when her and Buffy had made love. Every touch was etched into her memory. Every curve of Buffy's body was the perfect match for Faith's. "Buffy, I love you." Faith whispered knowing Buffy was asleep. "You deserve so much more than me. You deserve someone who has never caused you pain. But, I swear to you that no matter what, I will be here for you as long as you want me."
Faith fell asleep with Buffy holding her hand in hers. Faith knew that if this was a dream she did not want to wake up. Faith woke to Buffy twitching in her sleep and heard her whimper. She caressed her forehead and kissed her hair. Her twitching was killing her side but she was more worried about Buffy.
Buffy knew she was dreaming but she could not wake up and it scared her. Faith had been in front of her and holding her hand out to her. Then she heard The Master's voice saying "slayer, you won't win." Faith disappeared and then Buffy started running towards where Faith had been standing. When Buffy got around the corner she saw Faith laying in a puddle and she was dead. It was exactly like when the Master had killed Buffy. Buffy held her in her arms and rocked back and forth saying "Faith, don't go. I love you." She kept repeating it over and over.
Dawn woke to Buffy's scream and looked over to see Faith who had paled considerably and was obviously in pain. Dawn noticed that Buffy had her arms wrapped around Faith and with her slayer strength and Faith's injuries that had to hurt. Faith kept saying "B, wake up baby. It's okay. I love you. Come on, wake up." Buffy just kept crying. Faith caught Dawn's eyes and silently pleaded at her to help.
Dawn came over and shook Buffy until she woke. Buffy looked up at Faith, with the tears she could not control, rolling down her face. "I'm sorry Faith. I should have stopped him. I can't stop him Faith. I can't do it. I am sorry. I love you Faith. I'm sorry." Faith looked at Dawn questioningly as Buffy clutched her tight.
"The Master" Dawn mouthed.
"We will stop him Buffy. I swear to god we will. I would die before he hurts you." Faith was confused at how this made Buffy cry harder. Eventually Buffy realized that she was hurting Faith and eased her grip.
Two days had passed and Faith and Buffy had grown closer than ever. Xander and Anya had shown up and Faith did not receive a warm welcome there. She knew it would take time though so it was okay. She had Willow and Tara help her plan a surprise for Buffy.
Dawn and Faith were released the same day. Buffy was surprised when Willow and Tara took Dawn and left saying that they would have her home the next night. Buffy walked beside the nurse as she pushed the protesting Faith out of the hospital. Buffy went to get the jeep and was stopped by Faith grabbing her hand and Buffy saw a limo drive up. She was wondering who would be picked up at the hospital in a limo. The driver got out and opened the door in front of Faith and Buffy. "Miss Summers?" The driver asked.
Buffy shook her head yes. The driver reached in and pulled out a bouquet of flowers. There was a dozen red roses she looked at the card "A perfect rose for a perfect love." Buffy looked at Faith and smiled but Faith noticed her eyes glistening. They got in the limo and Buffy was shocked to find five more bouquets in the car. She looked at Faith who just said "One for every anniversary we missed."
Buffy smiled and said "my girl is a romantic."
The limo pulled up at the beach. They got out and Buffy and Faith walked towards the beach. She stopped as she looked on a set of rocks and saw candles flickering. As she got closer she noticed that there was a blanket spread out. There was a bouquet of roses in the middle and a basket next to it. Faith pulled Buffy down to the blanket with her. There was a song playing that Buffy believed was by Michelle Branch. Faith started to pull out food from the basket.
There was a bottle of wine and a lobster, there was also strawberries and chocolate. She laid the lobster in front of Buffy and poured her a glass of wine. Buffy laughed as Faith pulled out a hamburger and a bottle of beer. She leaned over and kissed Faith on the lips. "My love and her extravagant taste."
"What can I say B. I am a cheap date."
Buffy leaned forward and gently pressed her lips to Faith's.
The kiss started innocent and quickly progressed to hot. Faith's tongue thrust into Buffy's mouth. Their tongues dueled for dominance. Both seeking to bring the other the ultimate pleasure, neither willing to lose the battle. Buffy's hand gently eased under Faith's shirt and cupped her breast. Faith pulled back and said "nope" breathlessly. "Eat. B, uhmmm, we gotta eat."
"What do you think I was trying to do?"
"Food, B." Faith shelled the lobster and fed it to Buffy. When the butter dripped down Buffy's mouth Faith would lick it off. Sometimes she would let it drip down her neck to her chest before she would lick it off causing Buffy's body to shiver uncontrollably. "You need to eat, Faith."
Faith was gently nipping on Buffy's neck. "I am." Buffy started to protest and Faith followed her teeth with her tongue. Buffy could do nothing but moan and pull Faith closer. Faith reached down and dipped a strawberry in chocolate. She placed it on Buffy's lips and Buffy took a small bite of it. The juice rolled down her chin. Faith dipped her finger down into the chocolate and smeared it down to under her collar. She followed it with her tongue. Buffy pulled Faith closer and pulled her shirt up so she could caress her breast. Faith pushed Buffy down and unbuttoned Buffy's shirt. She gently pushed it off of her and took off Buffy's bra. Buffy pushed Faith's t-shirt off of her and was surprised to see there were not any bruises from her encounter with the demon.
Buffy pulled Faith's sports bra off of her and took one nipple in her mouth. Faith was trying to get Buffy's pants undone and looked at Buffy in the golden glow of the sunset. Within minutes both of them were naked. Buffy looked Faith deeply in the eyes and said "I love you Faith, thank you."
"For what, Love?"
"For this evening. For loving me and wanting me and for surviving what most people never would have."
"This evening is just the start of our future. The loving you and wanting you is easy and surviving is worth while now that I have a reason."
Faith and Buffy kissed while their hands caressed each others bodies. Both wanting their bodies to be one. Faith kissed Buffy on her neck and gently teased Buffy's nipple with her fingers. Buffy felt Faith's leg slip between hers and started to rub against it furiously. Faith knew Buffy needed release and did not want to torture her so she gently inserted one finger into Buffy. She screamed out and thrust against Faith's hand. Faith inserted two more fingers and Buffy clenched her muscles around Faith's fingers.
"Wait" Buffy panted "I want us to be one together."
Faith felt Buffy's hand move down until it was playing with her clit. Faith pushed her mouth to Buffy's as Buffy thrust two fingers in. They kissed as they met each others thrust. Both wanting nothing more than to bring pleasure to the love of her life. They both came just as the sunset complete and this was their proof to the world that the two slayers were indeed one. Buffy looked over at Faith as she slept and silently admired the golden tan that covered her lover's body. She remembered every detail that had happened the night before. After they made love on the beach Faith had gathered up their things and led Buffy back to the limo. When they had got home Faith said she had to pay the driver and told Buffy to go in. Buffy was unlocking the door as Faith had come up behind her.
Buffy smiled as Faith's arms wrapped around her waist. "Hello lover." Buffy purred.
"Hey sexy." Faith whispered in her ear, which caused shivers to course down Buffy's body.
"I think it would be a good idea." Buffy whispered as she pressed a kiss to Faith's cheek. Faith nodded and turned the handle to open the door. When they got in Buffy noticed that it was dark except for the fireplace, which had a large fire in it. There were a few candles scattered around the room and in the corner there was a stuffed bear that was white and had a large red bow around it. When Buffy got closer she noticed that there was something sparkling in the firelight. She got closer to observe it and noticed it was a gold chain. On it there was a heart surrounded by diamonds. Engraved on it was Buffy and Faith with the B and F intertwined. In the bear's paws a frame that had two sides on one side there was a picture of Buffy and Faith with their arm draped over the other shoulder. On the other side of the frame there was a poem that was written in calligraphy writing. Buffy felt tears in her eyes as she read it.

Buffy reached out with a shaking hand and said "My love, I wish to have you with me forever. I thank you for everything you have done for me. Faith picked up Buffy's hands and kissed every knuckle then pulled her towards the stairs. Buffy smiled as she saw the candles that lit the way up the stairs and to the bedroom. There was a trail of rose petals that led right to the bedroom door. Buffy opened the bedroom door and saw candles surrounded the room. There were black silk sheets on the bed and the bed was covered with rose petals. Faith led Buffy to the bed and sat her down. She started out by taking Buffy's shoes off and then her socks. Buffy tenderly stroked her hair. Faith looked up at her and grinned. Buffy smiled at the look of love on Faith's face. Buffy had never seen Faith so open with her emotions. She looked so beautiful as she grinned at her. The dimples made her look so cute that Buffy had to lean down and kiss her.
Faith stood up and Buffy pulled her down on her lap. "I can not believe that you did all this Baby." Faith just grinned at her and said, "I think you're worth it."
"You think so, hunh?" Buffy asked.
"Yeah, B, you are definitely worth it." Faith said as she ran her tongue down the length of Buffy's neck. Buffy shivered as Faith continued the assault on her neck. "I guess our favorite witches had something to do with all this." Buffy murmured against Faith's lips as she kissed her.
"Yeah" Faith said breathlessly "B, I love you."
"I love you too, baby." Buffy said as her hand crept up under Faith's shirt.
Faith groaned when Buffy's fingers made contact with her nipple. She pushed Buffy back against the pillows. "God, B, I never knew it could be like this. I want to cherish every inch of your body. I have to go get something but can you get undressed if you want?" Faith asked hesitantly. Buffy smiled and said "ok love."
Faith went downstairs and grinned at the way her mind thought. She grabbed the bottle of wine and put it in the ice and then headed up the stairs. Buffy was under the covers when Faith got upstairs. Faith looked at Buffy nervously and Buffy had to laugh. She said, "Faith, you have bragged about that body for years don't tell me you're nervous."
"Sorry, B." Faith mumbled as she looked down at the carpet.
"Aw. Baby, don't be nervous. Ok I will roll over on my stomach and I won't watch. Ok?"
"OK" Faith said.
Faith poured a glass of wine and then quickly undressed. Buffy laughed as Faith flew under the covers next to her. Faith propped her head on one elbow and then hesitantly kissed Buffy's cheek. Buffy had to laugh at the innocence that Faith was showing. Then it dawned on Buffy the couple of times she had been with Faith it had been rushed and before Buffy she guaranteed that Faith had never "made love" with anyone. It had probably always just been sex.
Buffy smiled as she leaned forward and kissed Faith. She started out tenderly caressing Faith's tongue with hers. Faith opened her mouth allowing Buffy access inside. Faith thrust her tongue against Buffy's and moved so that her body was over Faith. Buffy looked up at Faith and grinned against Faith's mouth. Faith noticed the smile and said "what" but before she could finish Buffy pushed her thigh in between Faith's legs. Buffy groaned at how wet Faith was already. Buffy moved her head down so that she could tease Faith's nipple with her mouth. Faith whimpered and started to rub against Buffy's thigh furiously. She knew Faith was close already so she slipped her hand down until it was right by Faith's clit. Faith whimpered again and Buffy said, "Shhhh, love it will be okay." Faith raised herself up a little and Buffy gently thrust two fingers inside her, which caused Faith to cry out.

Faith was teasing Buffy's clit softly and gently. Buffy grinned and shivered in delight. Then Faith reached over and got a piece of ice and Buffy said "Oh no you don't."
"Trust me B you're gonna love this." Faith took the ice and rubbed it against Buffy's nipple causing Buffy's nipple to harden. Buffy whimpered as Faith continued the assault with the ice. She covered every inch of Buffy's body and followed the trail with her tongue. Then Faith grinned as she looked at Buffy's flushed face. "Get ready Baby. This is just for you." Faith ran the ice right over Buffy's clit and then sucked on it. Buffy cried out in pleasure. Then Faith reached in the bucket and grabbed another piece of ice and put it in her mouth. Faith looked at Buffy as her and Willow was talking. They had made love that morning and then took a shower. Giles had called and said that he had some information so they grabbed some breakfast and left. Now they were all at the store and Anya had been making Faith uncomfortable with all the glares. Faith started to mouth but she sensed Buffy's nerves were on edge so she figured she'd just chill. Xander would say one or two words to her at a time. Faith grinned as she thought about Anya and Xander. It's not like she would want Xand Man. I mean ok you compare Xander and Buffy no comparison there.
Faith felt a twinge in her stomach. That had happened every now and then since Buffy had stabbed her. Docs said it was nerve damage but to Faith it was her reminder. It reminded her of all the bad things she had done in the past and the things she had done to hurt Buffy. Faith frowned and gently ran her thumb over where the scar was. She remembered the night that Buffy had stabbed her. Faith hadn't wanted to mouth Buffy but, as much as her heart told her to keep her mouth shut, her mind said otherwise.
Buffy noticed she hadn't heard a whole lot out of Faith so she glanced around the room. She noticed Faith sitting in a chair in the corner of the room by herself. She looked troubled and then noticed that Faith was touching the spot where she had stabbed her. Buffy wondered what was hurting her the old wound or the memories. Buffy knew the memories still haunted her. There had been nights Buffy woke up crying. She would see Faith's body lying in the back of the truck. Buffy shivered as she remembered that night and she knew her and Faith needed to talk about the past. She wanted to know why Faith had done the things she did and she wanted Faith to know why she did the things she did.
Thinking about the past made Buffy want to feel Faith next to her. She walked behind Faith noticing the vacant look in her eyes. She walked behind her and wrapped her arms around her. She noticed Faith jump at the contact and said, "It's ok love." Faith relaxed under Buffy's touch.
"How ya doing B?" Faith asked.
"I'm fine sweetheart. Are you doing okay?"
"5 by 5" Faith said.
Buffy smiled and said "I missed that."
"What's that B?"
"All your Faithisms. Ya know the five by five. Wicked cool, all that stuff."
Faith looked up at Buffy and said, "I just missed you." Buffy grinned like a little kid. Giles noticed that Faith looked more at peace than he had ever seen her. It was good to see them both so happy but if everything they had researched was true it was time to do some serious research.
"Buffy, I need you to come over here. Willow we need to start researching this spell to reveal the Master's location." Faith felt Buffy shiver at the Master's name. Faith knew that Buffy had some real problems with the Master. She wrapped her arms around Buffy and said "Baby, I swear to you that I am not letting anything happen to you. I would die before I let anything happen to you."
Willow said, "Hey, hey, hey, nothing is happening to anyone around here. We, we, we have some serious magic going on." Willow said "So let's get our our mojo going and find this Master." After several hours they determined that they were in the sewers around the edge of Sunnydale. They got their stuff together and Giles gave them his pep talk.
"You girls know that the Master is very dangerous. He will be waiting for you and he will probably have the place trapped. All I can tell you is you should be able to stake him if you can get close enough. When they resurrected him he didn't receive any special powers it doesn't appear. But I want you to be careful ok girls."
"Okay Dad."
"Okay Pops." Both girls chimed in at the same time.
He pulled them both into a hug and placed a kiss on Buffy's forehead. Willow grabbed Buffy's hand and said "You better be careful." Then Willow pulled Faith off to the side and said "You better bring her home safe. She has a problem about freezing up while he's around." Faith hugged Willow and whispered, "I will die before he gets near her."
Willow said "hopefully it doesn't come to that."
Buffy and Faith walked towards the Master's location. They had decided to go down in the sewers a few miles before his location so they were less likely to be found out. Faith noticed Buffy's hand was shaking and they stopped in an alley. Faith pulled Buffy close to her and said "Baby, you have to calm down. I can't take you down there like this. If you can't handle it I will go down there by myself."
Buffy grabbed Faith closer and said, "You don't know what it's like Sweetheart. I couldn't do anything with him. I wanted to fight him but I couldn't. I really did try I just couldn't move." Buffy was crying and Faith tenderly wiped the tears off of her cheek. "I killed him and why doesn't he die. I just want it to end I want it to stop Faith. Please, make it stop Faith."
"It's going to stop tonight, B. I promise it will stop tonight." Faith pulled Buffy to her and gently pressed her lips to Buffy's. Buffy tried to deepen the kiss but Faith said "we can't baby. We have to go and find the Master before he can follow through on his plans. I don't know what his plans are but I know that it probably includes ending the world."
Faith pulled away from Buffy and said, "We gotta go." Faith kept Buffy behind her as they went into the sewers. They had walked a few miles when they heard chanting. Faith pushed Buffy back towards the wall and started to move forward. Buffy grabbed her hand and Faith noticed it was cold. When she looked up Buffy's face was pale and drawn. Buffy was shaking her head no and Faith nodded yes. Buffy was still shaking her head as Faith headed towards the room surrounded by candles. Faith held up her fingers "one, two" Buffy knew Faith would not make it to three. And sure enough she ran into the room at the end of two. Buffy and Faith both knew as soon as they entered the room they were in trouble. When they had been looking in earlier they had only seen ten vamps but now that they were in the room they saw it had hundreds of Vamps. Faith drew her sword and Buffy got her stake. There was no time to make a plan as the vampires rushed in for an attack. Buffy tried to fight next to Faith but it seemed that the vampires were trying to separate them. Buffy felt a fist slam into her stomach and lashed out with her stake. She had dusted at least thirty vamps in the last five minutes but they would not stop coming.
Faith had killed so many vampires but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't catch sight of Buffy, which was making her fight harder which in turn was making her more exhausted. Faith noticed a ledge she could reach if she jumped and if she did that then she could light the bottles on fire and dust the vampires that way. Faith jumped and reached the ledge; she pulled herself up and lit the first bottle. She threw the bottle at the vampires that surrounded Buffy.
Buffy looked up and saw Faith hold up five fingers. She grinned and noticed Faith was lighting another bottle. Buffy moved as she threw another one at the vampires that were around her. Buffy looked beside her just in time to see a vampire lunging at her. She pulled her stake and plunged it into his heart. Buffy looked around and saw that Faith had disposed of most of the vampires. About twenty remained and they were all gathering under where Faith was. Buffy stopped a minute trying to catch her breath before she attacked the vampires again.
Faith saw Buffy step back and breathed a sigh of relief. She would get a chance to rest. Just as Faith started to light the bottle she heard a voice behind her say "Good evening Slayer." Buffy felt chills go down her spine at that voice. She froze when she saw the Master right behind Faith. "How nice of you to send your defender to me, Buffy."
"Don't touch her." Buffy screamed. She knew that she would not be able to reach Faith before the Master and watched as he slowly walked forward.
"I don't want to hurt the Slayer. I think she will work well with me. What do you think Slayer." He moved to Faith and saw her nod her head. He said "Why don't you go help me dispose of this problem I have down there." The Master pointed towards Buffy and Faith nodded and jumped over the ledge. Buffy was getting nervous as Faith walked closer to her.
"Faith, Baby, this isn't you, I love you." Buffy said calmly. Faith felt the pull that the Master had on her it was like something crawling around in her head pulling her towards the darkness. She was focusing on Buffy's eyes seeing the love there. She reached down and caressed the scar on her stomach. She remembered how she had hurt Buffy and resisted the pull.
Buffy noticed that Faith was caressing the scar again. She looked at Faith and saw her nod her head just slightly. Faith was almost in front of her and Buffy was almost sure that Faith was Faith but there was a slight hesitation in Buffy. She wanted to trust in Faith so she stayed in the same spot not wanting to move trusting in Faith to have a plan. Faith was right in front of her and she stopped. Just as Buffy was getting nervous Faith reached out and pushed Buffy back. She turned and threw a stake at the Master's heart. Faith thought she had made it until the Master grabbed it. His eyes turned a bright red and he jumped off of the ledge. Faith glanced over and saw that Buffy was unconscious. She must have hit her head when Faith pushed her out of the way. Faith didn't have time to worry about that as the Master headed towards her. Faith was about to attack him when she felt a gush of wind behind her. She turned back to see a porthole opened behind her. Buffy woke up in time to see the porthole. Faith looked scared as the Master approached. Buffy jumped up just as the Master reached Faith.
It seemed like everything happened in slow motion. Faith looked up and saw Buffy was awake. The Master was right in front of her. Faith moved to attack him and he lunged at her. She glanced over and saw Buffy running towards her. All of a sudden she felt something throw her back. She felt herself fall with the Master into the porthole. Her last coherent thought was at least Buffy was safe.
Buffy watched as Faith fell through the porthole and ran towards it. The light was growing dim as she ran towards it.

Buffy rolled over and her arm encountered a solid form. She immediately opened her eyes. The bed had been empty for so long that she knew something was wrong. What she saw made her cry out. There was Faith laying beside her and she was so skinny and pale. Her eyes were blackened underneath and Buffy immediately pulled her into her arms. Faith flinched at the contact and she said, "B, ya gotta let me go. This isn't any good for you. I love you always remember that. But you all are safe now so you have to move on. Forget about me I was never good enough for you anyway. Ya know it's kinda like you are gold bright and shining and beautiful. Me I am so dark and cold. I don't have anything to offer you B. Do you still have my cds here baby?"
Buffy nodded her head yes. Faith moved to get up and Buffy immediately cried out at the loss of contact. Faith looked back at her and smiled one of her half grins Buffy loved. Buffy watched her as she put on a cd and walked back to the bad. Faith pulled her in her arms and Buffy just enjoyed the feeling of comfort. Then the music started.
Morning smiles like the face of a newborn child, innocent, unknowing, winters end, promises of a long lost friend speaks to me of comfort, but I fear I have nothing to give, I have so much to lose here in this lonely place. Tangled up in your embrace there nothing I'd like better than to fall but I fear I have nothing to give.
Buffy started to say something and Faith pressed her lips to Buffy's but her lips were so cold Buffy shivered. She pulled Buffy close against her as the song continued.

The song ended and Buffy felt something wet on her face and did not know if it was her tears or Faith's. It did not matter somewhere in their journey the two had become one. They shared everything, their hearts, emotions, and pain. That's why Buffy knew this was hurting Faith every bit as much as it was her.
"Let me go B. I have nothing to give."
"But you have so much to lose, Faith. Do you wanna lose this? Do you wanna lose us?"
She looked at Buffy with such sad eyes "I have nothing to give."
Faith kissed her gently and then she faded away. Buffy cried out and then she awoke. The tears fell down her face as she held the pillow close to her. Then she noticed the radio was on and when she had fell asleep it was off. It was the cd Faith had put on. A thousand thoughts ran through Buffy's mind at once. She got up and searched for the song she heard with Faith. It came on and Buffy listened to the words again. "We do have so much to lose but you have so much to give and I am not going to let you go. You came here to me and I will bring you back for good. You are my heart and my soul, everything I have longed for. I will not let you go."
Giles looked up as Buffy walked down the stairs. "You should be sleeping. It's been almost a month since she's been gone. We have not gotten any closer to finding her."
She looked at him as she grabbed her sweatshirt. "I am going to Willy's then I am going to go to the Master's lair. We just haven't tried hard enough. I will not rest until I find her. She would not give up on me and I almost did. But, I am ready to face whatever I must. I will bring her back to me. Call Angel and tell him I may need his help." Buffy walked over and gently kissed Giles on the forehead. He looked exhausted; the last few weeks had been rough on him. He had really started to care for Faith. She would bring Faith back for him as well.
Willow who was sitting right on the end of the couch next to where Giles was standing looked at Buffy then at Tara who stood in the corner of he room, quiet and watching. "Buffy, you really need to rest. You have not slept in weeks. We are doing everything we can to bring here home."
"But it's not enough Wills. Every day without her I lose a part of myself. I never felt empty until the first time I lost Faith. The first time I lost her was the night she….no we…killed Finch. I turned away from her and I lost her. Then I became so confused, and she shot Angel. I was angry not at her but at myself. I had driven her to the point she was lost to me. I remember that night.. Every detail Wills. I remember the look in her eyes, she knew that I was driven by something. She wanted nothing more than for me to be the one to give her the peace she had searched for all her life. She was abused by her dad did ya know that Wills. She just wanted somebody to love her. When that knife, my god, I can still see her blood on my hands. She moved I couldn't, I wanted to take it back, every wrong word, look, action. I knew then that I loved her. I never thought I would get another chance.
"She came and saw me this morning and I am not crazy. She wants me to find peace. She was willing to sacrifice herself for me, for you, for all of us. How can I not do the same. Would her sacrifice not be deserving of the same for me? All I am asking is for you to understand and accept that I will not give up until she is here, in my arms. Please Wills, would you not do the same for Tara?"
Willow looked at Tara and said "I would move heaven and earth to have her in my arms." Tara nodded with tears in her eyes "as would I love." Willow looked at Buffy and said "tell us what you need."
"I want you to do a protection spell for Faith. I don't know what kind of condition she will be in when I get her back. And I will get her back. They picked the wrong person when they decided to go for my family and that's what all of you are. My family always there for me. Even though you don't like Faith you still support me."
Willow turned kinda red and said "We did not like the old Faith. The new one would do anything for those she loves and even for those she don't know. I think she would have been a lot different if any of us had given her a chance. None of us did and I regret that and we will make it up to her. We will as soon as we get her back. I won't let you down Buffy."
Buffy had tears in her eyes as she hugged Willow and said "Thanks I have to go now." She turned and took off running in the direction of Willy's bar.
Buffy walked into Willy's bar and he immediately said "Slayer, I don't know anything." She grabbed him by the shirt collar and said, "you better learn. See the Master took something that was mine and that I just can't deal with. I wanna know what he had planned." He knew not to mess with her so he told her everything he had heard. The Master was supposed to use the alternate dimension as a last resort. There was a demon that knew the spell to bring him back. He had a name of Venescia. Buffy walked out of the bar smiling.
Buffy walked into the crypt and immediately was attacked. A demon probably about 6 ft slammed into her. She was stunned momentarily and received a blow to the right temple. She shook it off and tackled the demon sending them crashing into the wall. She then assaulted the demon with a flurry of punches. "I want the Master bring him back you die quick you don't we make this slow as possible." The demon fought her but after an hour of torture the demon finally gave in. The spell would be performed at midnight and the demon wanted to just tell her how to perform the ritual but Buffy knew how they thought. He would be there until Faith was back in her arms. She would not let him fool her.
She took Venescia to her house and they gathered every thing they would need for the spell. At 11 they went to the graveyard to start preparing. It was dark and cold, there was a light mist falling from the sky. The moon was full creating shadows over the graves. Most people would be uncomfortable at a grave but Buffy found peace in the graveyard. Especially when she went to her mother's grave. Looking in that direction she decided to go over there and talk to her mom for a minute. The demon would start the spell at midnight she still had a few minutes. When she got over there she started to talk.
"Mom, I thought I should tell you I am in love. You know how you always said you wanted me to be happy I have never been more so, I feel complete and loved and happy. K, well, uhmm, mom it's with Faith I'm sure you remember her. You liked her and well uhmmmm so do I. I know there will be rough roads ahead. People who don't approve, but I don't care. What they think will not change my life like Faith has. They don't love me like Faith does. She is willing to sacrifice her life for me Mom."
All of a sudden lightning flashed and she heard the demon start chanting. When she turned she saw Joyce standing there. The lightning flashed again and Buffy saw Joyce turn towards her. The chanting behind her grew louder as she stepped towards Joyce. "Buffy, you must stop. You are playing with forces beyond your control. Don't do this. I love you baby, please stop." Joyce stepped forward and leaned forward to press a kiss on Buffy's forehead. "You know I love you. I know you love Faith and I am glad you have found someone to share your life with. But you have to stop Buffy, let her go."
Buffy glanced back as the lightning struck the ground by the Demon. The demon's eyes grew red and he was chanting very loud. Then a blue light surrounded him. She looked back at Joyce who was disappearing.
"Mom…Don't go…I lov…..Mommmmmm." Buffy sank to her knees.
There was a whisper in the air around her "I love you Buffy…Please be careful."
"MOM" Buffy screamed.
Willow and Tara who had been in the circle with the demon turned their heads at Buffy's anguished scream. Just as they started to bolt from the circle there was a loud boom. Everyone froze as there was a bright light in the middle of the circle. After a moment the light faded and there in the middle of the circle was Faith. Unconscious and bloody and very, very thin. Buffy jumped up and ran to her side.
It was going to be all right she had Faith back. It was going to be fine. Buffy smiled as she pulled Faith's unconscious body onto her lap. Nothing could happen now, the chosen two were side by side.

Buffy looked at Faith as she slept. She had not woke up since they brought her home. She had a fever but it wasn't too high. There were scratches all over her body. There was one deep gash under her left ribcage. It was red and swollen and there were jagged red lines around it. Willow and Tara had just left after performing a healing spell on her. Buffy leaned over and pushed some of Faith's raven colored hair off her forehead. She hadn't lost her, every thing was right in her world now.
"Faith, I don't know where you were but I know where I was. Living without you was hell. Your heart, your love, was what kept me going. Part of me just wanted to give up and die. But the other part of me said you would not do that. You would fight to get me back, defying all odds. That's what we do, right baby. We defy all odds, you and me baby." Buffy kind of half grinned "You and me girlfriend, we are the chosen two." Buffy laid down beside her putting her head on Faith's chest. "What I'm trying to say baby is that I love you. Thank you for coming into my life, for showing me such joy. We have not been together long but each moment has brought such joy to my life. The stars are brighter at night. The grass is greener, the sky is bluer, you have brought such joy to my life. You are the reason I was born, Slaying was not my destiny my love, you were. I was born to be your love as you were born to be mine." She gently kissed Faith's lips. "You know I often wonder how I got lucky enough for our paths to cross. I can't believe I screwed up so bad at first. But, that was the past, I live now for the future. Our future" Buffy whispered.
Buffy fell asleep holding Faith in her arms, never once letting go. It was two days that they slept. Willow had wanted to wake Buffy up several times but Giles had said it was healing sleep. Buffy woke up to the feel of a finger caressing her cheek. She looked up to see Faith's beautiful eyes staring down at her. "You're beautiful." Faith whispered her voice cracking. Buffy smiled up at her and pressed her lips to Faith's. They were so dry so she got up to get Faith some water but she would not let her go.
"You need to drink, love." Buffy said as she got up.
"GRRRRRR." Faith growled as Buffy got up.
"I missed that, love."
"What?" Faith mumbled.
"Your growl. It's cute baby."
Faith raised her eyebrow. "I am not cute B. I'm Faith, I am hot, sexy, beautiful, uhmmmm not cute. Sheesh I can't believe you called me cute B." Faith rolled to her side acting offended but she was grinning.
"Ok love." Buffy laid down next to Faith with the cup of water in her hands. "You are soooooo very sexy and hot. I get hot just thinking about you baby. About your hands on my body, your lips exploring my body, tasting, teasing, ummmmmmm, such nice thoughts."
Faith growled again and pulled Buffy close her lips closing over Buffy's. Faith wrapped her arms around Buffy's waist pulling her close. Faith's tongue slipped between Buffy's lips. Their tongues danced together as if they had been doing it for years. Their bodies were made for each other. They fit perfectly together, they kissed for a while and then broke apart. Faith yawned against Buffy's lips and she pulled her closer. Buffy pulled Faith's head against her chest, wanting her to rest. Faith fell asleep and Buffy just watched her. She stroked her hair and gently kissed her forehead.
Faith woke up disoriented. She jumped up off the bed looking at the blond next to her. She was beautiful but Faith had no idea who she was and for that matter she had no idea who she was. She could not remember anything about her past and who she was.
Buffy woke up to the feel of Faith jumping off the bed. She looked to the side of the bed and saw Faith looking at her confused. Buffy reached out to her and Faith backed away. "Who are you?" Faith whispered. "You are beautiful, but who are you do I know you?"
Buffy looked up confused "Faith, it's me Buffy. You have to know who I am. I love you."
Faith looked at her and just said "Who is Faith?"
"Willow.." Buffy yelled.
Faith looked startled and was more so when the door open and three strangers came running into the room.
Buffy looked at them confused about what was going on. Scared of what was happening and what the future held.

Buffy looked at Faith as she sat across from her in Giles' living room. Faith was curled up on the corner of the couch and sleeping. It had been about twelve hours since Faith had woken up with no memory. Giles had told her it was probably severe trauma from everything she had been through. Faith was scared from her surroundings. She did not remember anyone, Buffy had led her into the kitchen that morning and fed her breakfast.
"I know this is hard for you but I want you to know I am here for you. We are very close. Do you remember anything Faith?"
Faith looked at her wearily across the table "Last thing I remember was being a kid and my dad hitting on me all the time. I remember he used to drink everyday and then come home and hit on me." Shrugs "that's all I remember. You know some things are better forgotten." Faith stood up and walked to the window. "How long have you known me?"
Buffy looked at her and said "we have known each other a few years."
Faith looked at her "so many years lost. Am I ever gonna get em back B?"
Buffy looked at her with wide eyes.
"What?" Faith said.
"You called me B. How did you know to call me that."
Faith shrugged "I dunno."
Faith had been kind of distant since then. Buffy watched her as she started to move around in her sleep. She could tell Faith was having some kind of nightmare. She got up and walked over to her. She sat down beside her on the couch and curled her feet up under her. She laid an arm behind Faith's head. Faith was sweating and tossing around. Buffy could tell that she kept saying Buffy, but that was it. Her raven hair was mussed and her face was flushed. Buffy gently touched Faith's shoulder and she whimpered. Faith thrashed a little more and Buffy caressed her face.
"Faith." She gently shook her shoulder. "Faith. Wake up Baby, it is just a bad dream."
She woke up screaming out and Buffy reached out to her. She tenderly pulled Faith into a hug, holding her. Faith was still so skinny, Buffy thought to herself. She ran her hands through Faith's hair. It was so smooth and soft. She continued to caress it softly and Faith leaned back and looked at her questioningly.
Faith leaned forward and gently pressed her lips to Buffy's. The kiss started out softly and then grew more frantic. Tongues dueled..Moving against each other. Buffy rolled over so she was straddling Faith's waist. Neither of them were thinking straight. The kisses had ignited a hunger in them neither could deny. "B" Faith moaned her hand moving under Buffy's shirt caressing her breast. Stroking her nipple softly moving underneath Buffy. She was getting so hot, Faith pushed Buffy down so that she was laying down on Giles' couch. She quickly tugged Buffy's shirt up and pulled her nipple into her mouth. She pulled on it with her teeth tugging and pulling. Buffy's hands had grasped Faith's butt and was pulling her against her leg. Somehow within minutes both were naked and moving against each other. Faith pulled Buffy against her and kisses her hard. Then she plunged three fingers inside Buffy, as soon as Faith's fingers slid in Faith's eyes closed painfully. Buffy did not notice she was so overcome with passion. Faith did not stop the thrusting. Hard and fast she plunged into Buffy wincing as her fingers slid deeper in her. Tears were rolling down Faith's face. Buffy rode Faith's fingers her back arched. Harder, faster, they moved. Over and over they moved until Buffy found her release and collapsed on top of Faith.
She looked up at Faith and was about to say I love you when she noticed the tears that were falling. "Faith?"
"I remember B. I remember it all."
Buffy started to hug her and Faith gave her a weak smile. "Having trouble with all this Buffy but I will say I do love you and this was great but we have bigger problems to deal with. When you brought me back you brought back earth's biggest chance of an apocalypse."
She tenderly caressed Buffy's face. "No worries baby, I would have done the same thing for you. Now let's take care of this cause I am about ready for a real vacation. Think this time we can try for Hawaii instead of hell? I mean Hawaii, think about it B. It will be a great place for a honeymoon." Faith looked at Buffy grinning.
Faith was running, it seemed like she was searching for something and then she came to a door. It was wood and it was dark and worn. There were chunks of paint missing out of the door. Faith recognized the door from her past. She turned and started to run but she could not move. Then a voice came from the other side of the door, A voice that had haunted her for years. The door opened slowly and Faith came to recognize the worst demon from her past.
"Faithie baby, where have you been? Daddy has been looking for you."
Faith looked around every moment of slayer training forgotten as she faced her father.
No matter how much strength she had it all disappeared the second she heard his voice. The sweat covered her body, her heart racing, hands shaking. Her mind screaming at her "go, run fast, run hard. He will never catch you." Her feet were frozen to that spot. She felt his hand, large and rough from years of work, grab her arm roughly. She tried to pull away but he yanked her hard against him. His breath hot against her face as he sloppily kissed her. Faith almost retched from the taste of stale alcohol in his mouth. His mouth moved against hers roughly bruising them. Faith tried to push away but could not find the strength.
She bit down hard on his lip and tasted the blood. Then felt his hand hard upon her face bruising immediately. She was slammed against the wall and felt him push himself on her. He bit her neck harshly making her cry out in pain. He punched her again and as the lights began to dim in her head she heard the voice of her savior, her love.
"Faith, wake up baby it's just a dream. Come on love." She felt a hand across her brow soft and smooth, gentle. Faith became aware of the pillows underneath her, the soft silky sheets caressing her skin. Faith realized she was covered in sweat. Buffy was looking over her worriedly. Faith looked away and then Buffy touched her face. She felt such a sense of shame at the touch. She did not deserve to be loved. She had been through so much. She was dirty, how could anyone love her.
Faith jumped up and ran to the bathroom leaning over the toilet, the contents of her stomach rolling forward. She retched forever still tasting the taste of her father's mouth, the alcohol. Feel the pressure of his fist, the feel of his mouth rough upon her. She turned the shower on scalding hot. Wanting to erase the feelings, the pain. She was curled up in the back of the shower sobbing when Buffy walked in there. The shower was steaming and Buffy couldn't imagine how hot the water was.
She reached in and turned it off. Buffy did not know what the dream was about but she knew it had to do with her dad. She had not known anything about Faith's past until recently and she wondered how Faith had survived it. Any lesser person would have died. Crumbled under the pain and the misery but her love had survived. She had come through it and was a beautiful person once she opened up to you. Buffy realized she had wanted to open up to her when they had first met but Buffy had been too big of bitch to realize. Too self absorbed with Angel and Willow and her poor Buffy act. It wasn't until she learned of Faith's past did she realize how much she had. A mother who loved her, a father that may have not been there, but never touched her.
Buffy was brought back to the present by the sound of Faith's harsh sobs. She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around Faith careful of the blisters on her skin. She knelt down on the shower floor holding Faith. Faith at first resisted but then leant into her touch. She could not stop crying, she knew that Buffy was there and she should toughen up but she couldn't. The tears falling, every emotion that she hid as a kid escaping. No longer the tough little girl no one could hurt. The one who no matter how much she was called names and hit she wouldn't cry. That little girl was gone. All because of the love of one person, everything crashed down on her.
Buffy held her for hours as she cried. She did not want to move Faith for fear she would stop. Buffy knew that this was what Faith needed. The emotions had been buried deep within her for so long. She did not realize that Faith had stopped crying and was looking at her. Faith reached up and gently caressed her face, "How can you love me B? I don't deserve you." Her voice was rough from hours of crying. "I'm dirty. You know how the clouds get black before a storm that's me. You are the rainbow after the storm, beautiful and pure."
Buffy looked at her and said "first let's go get you in bed then we will discuss this."
"Trying to get me in the sack hunh B?" She asked her voice rough and weary.
"Trying to get you to rest F. Come on baby."
They went into the bedroom and Buffy sat her down beside the bed. She put a sheet over Faith and then put her robe on. Faith watched as Buffy changed the sheets and then turned around and held out her hand to her. It was dark outside, the moonlight showing through the window. Faith smiled as she remembered all the times she had climbed up the tree to Buffy's window. Faith took Buffy's hand and laid down where she had the sheets pulled back.
Buffy pulled the chair next to the bed and Faith looked at her questioningly. "I want you looking at me when I say this to you baby. You are not to blame for anything that happened in your life. It was not your fault your parents were who they are. It is not your fault they did what they did. They were miserable people who sought only to make those around them miserable. Now if I were to ever see them I cannot promise what I would do, but you are not to blame for the fact you did not fight back. You were a little girl."
"B, it happened till I was 15 and I wasn't just a little kid then."
"Yes you were Faith and a part of you will always be. But I promise you here and now these are demons that you and I will conquer together. The worst demons to fight are your inner demons and if we can conquer those love then the rest of them don't stand a chance."
Faith looked at her grinning. Then the smile faded, "Why B? Why are you willing to put so much effort into me, I am not worth it."
"Whose opinion would that be, because it is not my opinion. And who said it was an effort because that is one thing I do not see it as. I see it as a something to do for my love. I want to see you smile, I want to see you sleep in peace. I want you to be secure in the woman you have become. To be proud of the child who was beaten but still has the courage to stand up tall and secure in herself. I will stand beside you for as long as you will have me my love. I know we have an ascension to stop but I have something to ask you my love." Buffy looked around and then said "hold on one second k baby?"
Faith smiled and said "k love."
Faith laid there for ten minutes thinking of what all Buffy had said. Then she heard her running up the stairs. She handed Faith a black silk robe and said "come on baby."
They walked downstairs and Faith saw candles lit around the room. She walked forward and Buffy sat her down on the couch. She then handed her two stuffed animals a black panther and a white tiger.
"The black is for what you believe you are. But I see you as a dark mysterious person strong and stealthy cautious in your every move. In who you trust in every decision. I am the tiger strong yet gentle. I will stay quiet except for when it comes to defending the one I love and then I will protect you fiercely. My family is small yet strong in its foundation. I can not promise you a smooth future because nothing in my life has ever been smooth but I can promise you will never be alone. I will be your strength when you are weak. I will be your ears when you can't hear, your eyes when you can't see. I will be the laughter when there are tears. I will be the one to hold you when the rest of the world is hard and uncaring. I will never have much money but I will always have love."
Buffy knelt down on one knee "I kind of wanted this to be in a different scene baby but will you do me the honor of being my wife. I promise you the best for many years to come what we lack in everything else I promise in love. I promise kisses and hugs and lots of love."
She placed a small diamond on Faith's shaking fingers and said "This is not a ring of exquisite beauty as you are. Your beauty makes this diamond look small and priceless but this is the stone of our future. This is the stone of my promise, to love you and protect you from everyone including me. This is the promise that you will never be alone no matter how bad the storm of life gets I will be your umbrella. If you are lost at sea I will be your lighthouse leading you home to the safety of my arms."
"God B I love you." Faith was crying the tears pouring down her face. How could anyone love her so much. This had to be a dream but god if it was Faith hoped she never woke up.
"Yes B yes, yes, yes I will marry you I will be there for you too. I don't have the fancy words but I can say I love you and I never want to be without you. I want to protect you and Dawn from everything that hurts you."
Faith eyes teared up and Buffy looked at her questioningly. "B, I love you so much but I feel so bad 'bout how things went down with your mom. She always tried to reach me. You know that Christmas when you took off. I was real down always hated Christmas but she made eggnog and we sat there and I was real down. She sat there on the couch and started stroke my forehead and she sang to me B. It was such a peaceful thing ya know. Her voice was beautiful. Her hand was so soft. Nobody ever did anything like that for me B. Then look what I did, I hurt her and I hurt you. I didn't mean to B I swear." She was crying again.
"Shhh Baby. Mom was one of the most forgiving people we will ever know in this life. Baby, she loved you. She was scared not of what you did to us but of what you were doing to yourself. The past was slowly eating away at you. It scared her but she never stopped believing in you. She wants the best for me and Baby I could not ask for anything better."
Buffy smiled at her and got up she started blowing out the candles and said "let's go to bed love. I think we have something to celebrate." Faith took her hand and they started up the stairs neither noticing the bright light in the corner of the room. Joyce looked at them as they headed up the stairs glad that her daughter had found someone to complete her life. A love like that was rare indeed. She only hoped they could face what was coming their way.

Buffy and Faith walked through the graveyard. There was a light mist falling from the sky. The wind was howling as it blew, scattering leaves everywhere. It was kind of a biting wind because it was cool outside. The moon was almost full but clouds were covering it. Faith wrapped her arm around Buffy's shoulder and said "Baby, it is cold out here and we haven't seen any action yet. These vamps are smart enough to know it's too cold out here. Let's go home and create some action."
Buffy turned to Faith and wrapped her arms around her neck then said "what kind of action we talking bout baby?" She reached up and kissed her lips, lightly at first once, then twice. Buffy's tongue caressed Faith's. Her hand moved down Faith's back. Faith then backed up breathing hard.
"Baby, why don't we continue this elsewhere?"
"Ahhh..Come on Slayer, I was enjoying the show."
Buffy spun around and focused on what Faith was already looking at. "So Slayer, this is what you sacrificed the world for. You could find a pathetic piece of trash like that anywhere. Why risk the world for that? If she is that good in bed maybe I want a piece of that."
Furious Buffy ran towards the vampire but he grabbed her by the neck and lifted her easily. "I could snap your neck right here. It would not be a challenge for me, you are not a challenge for me. But you see Slllayyyyerr" he hissed "it is you that gave me this freedom. I think I will let you watch and appreciate what it is I have to offer." Buffy's face was turning blue from lack of oxygen. "I will make what you have seen thus far in your pathetic slayer life seem like a playground."
Faith who had been frozen to where she had been standing ran to the tall vamp. He had on a dark long trench coat and stood even taller than Faith. He had long black hair and was built very solid. He looked at Faith as she rushed at him, then threw Buffy across the graveyard where she landed and rolled for a brief second. She lay there gasping for air and watched as the large vamp squared off against Faith.
"You." He said. "You can not be. You were taken to where you belong and to there I will send you back." With that he lifted his hand a large flashing red ball flew out of it. It hit Faith in the chest sending her flying. Buffy screamed out and jumped up, then a flash of light illuminated in front of Faith.
They both watched as Joyce's figure developed. She held out her hand towards the vampire and said "Victor, the powers that be know about your plan and I have been sent to stop you." She held out her hand first to Faith and then to Buffy. They both walked forward and grabbed Joyce's hand. Joyce signaled for them to grab each others hand as well. Once they had formed a circle Joyce started to chant. Her eyes started glowing a bright blue. "Kamatra ence yata vu.." she chanted over and over. Victor started backing up as the chants grew louder.
Buffy and Faith felt a strong power surge through them. Joyce released their hands abruptly and threw her hands towards Victor. Lightning cracked and thunder rumbled. Faith's head snapped back eyes squeezed shut, Buffy could feel her grip tighten even more. Joyce said very loudly "Kamatra ence yata vu….To hell you came from and to hell you shall return." A bright light flashed and all of a sudden a red mist formed around Victor. You could hear horrible screams from agonized souls, moans and then you could see hand emerge grabbing Victor's foot. The moon was a blood red. The wind tore through the graveyard causing trees to fall. Buffy felt Faith collapse to the ground and then Victor screamed loudly and disappeared into the ground.
Buffy knelt down by Faith who had blood dripping from her nose and mouth. The tears were flowing down Buffy's face as she caressed Faith's face, she was so cold and lifeless lying there on the ground. She looked up crying to her mother and Joyce said "worry not my baby. It will be okay. Go gather your friends and by the time you get back everything will be fine." Joyce knelt down and kissed Buffy's forehead. "Go baby, It will be okay." Buffy looked up at her mother worried that she needed to have her friends there to help Faith.
She gathered Willow, Tara, Dawn, Giles, Xander and Anya. They all rushed to the graveyard and skidded to a halt. There was Faith leaning against a headstone grinning weakly as Joyce knelt beside her hugging her stroking her hair and singing softly to her. Buffy felt the tears fall from her eyes as she looked at Faith who looked so peaceful as she watched Joyce the love flowing from her eyes.
Joyce looked at everyone and said "I carry a gift for you from the powers that be. Will you all please link hands and form a circle."
Tara looked at Joyce in awe. "Her aura is so pure, she is so strong." Willow just nodded, the whole group formed a circle and Buffy stood on the other side of Faith. Joyce moved so that Faith was on one side and Buffy the other. Joyce started to chant and everyone closed their eyes. Next thing they knew they opened their eyes to see a beautiful blue ocean. Faith and Buffy both had a wrap around their waist and bikini tops. They were standing side by side by a flower altar.
Joyce turned to Buffy and Faith and said "it has been granted by the Powers that Be that these two shall serve this lifetime side by side conquering evil. There shall be nothing come heaven or hell shall tear them apart. Buffy, Faith, I leave you to say your vows. You do not need the vows of mankind for they are meaningless, words thought up by one holds no meaning to others. Your union has been blessed by the powers that be and also by a mother who has never seen a love so great." She stepped back and said "speak your vows and let us watch as two pure souls unite."
The waves were crashing upon the shore and the sun shined brightly upon them. You could hear a Hawaiian song in the distance. Buffy started to speak and Faith held up her finger. "No love please let me speak first." Buffy nodded her head and Faith took her hand. "Buffy before there was you the world was a cold, hard, lonely place. I spent every day praying for death, hoping for someone to take me out of this hell. But it was not until I met you that I realized every step I took was blessed because it led me to you, every corner I turned was a corner closer to you. Every mistake I made was a mistake that was blessed because had I not made those mistakes I would not be here. If it were not for Kakistos I would never have come to Sunnydale. Baby, I do not regret every heartache I was given because now my heart is pure. It is golden. Touched by a soul so pure, your soul Buffy. Every child sees the good and so do you. Everything happens for a reason and those reasons led me to you. I promise from now on we will walk the shadows together. I will never let you face anything alone, if you need me to hold you I will. If you need me to make you smile I will. If you need me to hold you when you cry I will. If you need me to be strong for you I will. I will be the wall standing strong and solid. I will be the tree standing proud. Buffy this, what we have is the greatest gift god could give anyone. I know the world will see this as wrong but please tell me what is wrong about it. Their marriages last for a few years but then they find someone new. But that is because it is not pure love, love is a meeting of souls, two hearts that form one solid, strong beat. Love is never being alone, being willing to stand with the one you love no matter how bad it gets.
"No one can judge what we have unless they have experienced it and this is a special love. One that will stand the test of time, I will hold you when you breathe your last breath so the last thing you see is my face as you leave this world. And though it will be hard if you are to die first I will live on continuing to carry your memory and share them with those we love. I will smile as I remember your beautiful face. I will laugh as I remember the way you made me laugh and I will cry as I long to hold you in my arms. You will be the first thought in my mind in the morning and my last thought at night. You will be in my mind and heart until we meet again. I hope we will be granted many years together but there are no guarantees and I will live each day as if tomorrow never comes. You will know every day that you are the reason I live and breathe. There will never be a doubt in your mind that you are loved." Every one who watched was crying.
"The time I spent in hell was unbearable for the simple fact I did not know if you knew how much I loved you. I am here now and will whisper words of love every time I get a chance. I will let you know that the stars shine only for you. Every whisper of the wind will be whispering your name. Every raindrop that falls from the sky will be tears from the angels because they miss you, their angel, but I will fight with my life for this angel to remain here with me. Every rainbow will be your dreams coming true. Baby I swear from this day on there will never be a doubt as to my love for you and will promise to love you and honor you. I will never have any expectations placed on you. You will be worshipped every day for the rest of your life and if we grow old it will be together. Baby I love you and am honored that you have become my wife and from this day forward I will be one with you always." Joyce reached forward and handed Faith a ring, which she placed on Buffy's finger.
Thunder boomed and Joyce smiled because there was not a cloud in the sky. Buffy's hand was shaking as she reached for the ring Joyce handed her. "Faith, I am sorry for all the pain you have suffered from others and from me. I have had so much in my life but it was lacking one thing. I never had Faith in me and in my dreams. Then god gave me Faith in more ways than one. He gave me a precious gift when he gave me you. He gave me a reason to live. A reason to fight and to believe, never had I believed that I could be like this. My heart beats only for you. I want to be one with you, to hold you every night when we go to bed and wake up holding you every morning. I will take care of you when you're sick and will turn to you if I can not find answers I seek. I will give you complete honesty and love. You will never be alone and if your scared I will hold your hand. I will be the light when everything is cold and dark. My family will love you and is now your family. We will face this unpredictable future together. I cannot replace the pain from your past but I can promise that from now on nothing will hurt you and when nightmares haunt your sleep I will be there with you. I thank you for coming into my life. I thank you for wanting me and loving me. I thank you for being my wife and promising your future to me. With this ring I hand you my heart and my soul and promise to be here for you until death separates us in the flesh. It will never separate us in our mind and heart though. Thank you my love." They kissed and thunder clapped and lightning flashed. The kiss was deep their tongues dueling with each others. Buffy ran her fingers through Faith's hair.
Faith stepped back and looked at Buffy, Joyce stepped forward and said "Go in peace, for God has given you the greatest of all gifts, true love, love embodied, love promised and sworn, love twined to itself till death do you part. May every word you speak and every breath you take in each other's presence, be twice blessed, and may you walk together in strength each holy day of your lives. Go in peace, for you, together, have done the beautiful thing. And as a mother of this most precious child I bless this relationship and will look down upon my children with love and pride and know that when the time comes for you to leave this world I will be there waiting and you will be together after you fight the good fight." Joyce walked over to Dawn and kissed her forehead and then faded from sight.
The lights flashed bright around them and they all heard a soft chant and when they turned around they were back in Sunnydale. When Buffy looked at Joyce's grave their orchids were laying on top of the ground. Faith took Buffy's hand and said "Wow. That was some wedding gift B. Let's go home we have a future to plan." With that the group left the graveyard, their family now having grown by one.
